Grigioperla Uomo

Starts off very masculine with a mix of sparkling citrus and aromatic cypress, with an original bittersweet scent of anise. The slow process of approaching dry down brings out cedar wood and heliotrope that offer an elegant, woody scent contrasted by tonic notes of white thyme. The dry down is built around oriental falours of the all precious vanilla bean and deep woody notes of patchouli, enlivened by a balsamic touch of gaiac wood- a tiny bit smoky. It's a cold start to the day the this fragrance seems to be perfect. Two unsolicited compliments as I walk into work. The projection is very good. A bit disappointed by the packaging and the actual bottle because the bottle cap and bottle has a stick on paper label so I was dubious from making the purchase. I guess I still haven't learnt 'never judge a book by its cover'. Sillage - 8/10 Longevity - 8/10 Scent - 8/10 Hopefully the people that have this fragrance will remain in single digits! And I was pleasantly surprised by the price here in the UK.

A soft, woody fragrance in terms of impact it's not much to write home about from a brand I'd not come across. Having said this, you just don't smell many (newish) fragrances like this, it's classy and understated. The opening is watery and fig like with a very subtle anise like to my nose, developing into a kind of buttery floral but with something inherently woody and masculine about it. The drydown and wearing of this was slightly inconclusive because it was a hot day and even the best fragrance wouldn't of lasted on me but the card I additionally sprayed it on, still has a soft and rounded vanilla/heliotrope/violet smell about it. The main thing that makes me like this is the price. The price is really reasonable and if I see it (I won't go out of my way) I might add uomo to the collection for a bit of obscure (in a brand sense, not smell wise) fun.
