La Mia Perla Nera

Insanely sexy feminine chypre. Hard not to talk myself into buying a bottle even though it might be too feminine to personally pull off. An intensely retro opening that reminds me of something between Halston and Ungaro's Diva. It smells like a hot blonde with legs that account for 60% of her 5'11" height. Incredibly sensual. Feminine as hell but not...soft and pink. The echo of black heels, with a polished sheen reminiscent of a 1980s black sports coup on a turntable type car commercial, echoing down the hall in your direction. The florality of the middle has the perfect level of animalic edge and gels well with the whipped cream of a patchouli musk base. I got a sample vial with the purchase of a full vintage bottle of the discontinued Pierre Cardin Rose, which I already knew I loved. I may, however, love this more. I'm going to use my entire sample up trying to figure out if I can get away with wearing it and I'll probably end up buying a bottle regardless of the conclusion I arrive at. Holy cow. If every woman wore this, there would be no birthrate crisis and they'd have to invent a different excuse to import infinity whoever into the first world. Damn sexy. Transcends personality. Beer goggles in a bottle. I feel like I'm telling some women too much...

just received this today. A modern chypre. After loving La Mia Perla, I had to hunt down this flanker. As is the case with La Mia Perla...I wish the Nera projected and lasted longer on the skin. However.....I LOVe Nera still!! Opens with citru/sandalwood combo...IMO....then the other notes bring themselves out....black currant...patchouli....and just enough jasmine/lily vibes. Smooth...semi-woody...floral....very cozy and pleasing scent !!

I love this! Sweet to me, woody and smooth. The current adds a mild sweetness but smooths it out. Something smells nutty to me although nothing like that is listed. Quite unique actually. I like the fact that it is not vanilla heavy. Very nice.

This was a blind buy because I love La Mia Perla so much. This starts with a big patchouli blast, which had me worried. I like patchouli if it is well-balanced and it is here. As it starts coming together, I get a very pleasant semi-sweet woody fragrance. The sweetness from the black currant is mild. I also get some powder from the lily, but I wouldn't describe the perfume itself as powdery. It has musk but isn't overly musky. Everything is even-handed but boring. Unfortunately, it doesn't do wonderfully in sillage or longevity on my skin, I wouldn't rebuy.

This perfume makes me feel like a sexy but laid back 70s lady. Maybe Pam Grier would wear this. Sad it's discontinued. Maybe my nose is overly sensitive, but I have no idea why people are saying this is short-lived. On me it's potent and lasting. A little goes a long way.

Opens like a blast from the past, and disappears into the past just as quick. My aunts wore the precursors to this perfume when they came over to play Chinese Checkers and shoot crown and dish with each other. I hesitate to say it doesn't smell dated, because, well... it does. It has the construction of an 80s chyphre, and while it's much domineering than those powerhouses, it would be disingenuous to say it smelled modern. The performance compared to those, however, is very modern, which is to say weak, short-lived, and disappointing. It ultimately resolves into a mildly fruity soft patchouli scent that leaves you wanting--not in a good way.

La Mia Perla Nera begins with a sweet black currant and a gentle squeeze of lime. Earthy patchouli offers a subtle grassy dampness that, despite being balanced, is just a little too "dank" for my liking. Fortunately, everything is enveloped by generous lashings of woody musk to keep things soft and feminine. I enjoy the sweet, powdery, musky notes, but I am not a fan of this particular strain of patchouli, so it's a pass for me. I could see this being quite popular amongst those more amenable to earthy scents, however.

Just received a sizable decant with an expensive full-bottle purchase of Creed "Queen Of Silk." UBER-feminine. I agree with others that this fragrance is a "blast from the past." Immediately upon sniffing, I thought "Fragrance 1970s meets La Vie Est Belle." It's intensely aldehydic, fruity, floral, patchouli. Reminiscent of the THOUSANDS of mainstream fruitchouli fragrances currently on the market. Nice enough if this type of fragrance is your jam. Apply lightly unless you wish to choke those around you out.

I got this as a sample, and as soon as I sprayed it on my wrists, I thought of an old perfume that my Mom used to wear in the late 80s/early 90s: Ungaro by Emanuel Ungaro. While that fragrance was super strong and lasted, this one almost immediately disappeared! It started out strong, but quickly muted, for lack of a better word, and became almost non-existent. It's the strangest thing! I'm not sure if it was an an old sample, but if this is a true sample of the perfume, I wouldn't waste my money on it. It smells nice enough, but definitely does not last or project past my wrist and crook of my arm.

I have a sample. Extremely impressed. I am all about patchouli this year. I crave to smell it in my perfumes, like mad. This is a sister to Bond 9 I Love NY For Her, which is one of my absolute favorite perfumes. This is definitely more “vixen”, though. It does not smell like jimmy choo besides being a fruitchouli. Remarkably similar to Reb Le Fleur, as well. Seriously. A better version of it. Very lovely. Do I need it? No. (Update: YES) It’s pretty tempting but I like the assertive quirks in ILNYFH much better. This one does not have a quirkiness to it. It’s just very smooth and beautiful. The sandlewood is pretty pronounced at the dry down, sauna effect. It’s really nice. Clean yet humid in the dry down. The black currant sticks around, too. No vanilla, unlike ILNYFH. Update: nearly a year later and i have resisted the urge to buy this this entire time. I babied my sample. But i finally decided to buy this. Its absolutely delicious to me. Might be my favorite scent ever, oddly enough, taking the place of MBB. Theres just something about this fragrance that seems to ring my bell ... like... precisely. I LOVE the rich sandalwood and patchouli dry-down. I equally adore the deep dark fruity top notes. Many reviews say this doesn't last long, but i don't find that to be the case at all. In fact it lasts at least 8 hours on me, probably more like 12! And though its not a beast, its definitely detectable to others and it does leave a trail.

I actually tested this one in a local perfume shop. It's gorgeous! A dark fluffy patchouli with woody undertones, if you can imagine that. The black currant adds balance to the composition. It's hard to describe, the ingredients are not particularly unique so it's not something you've never smelled before in a perfume, but the way they are blended is interesting. It has a velvety quality to it. The sillage is soft and lasting power is average, at least on my skin. Worth a try!

La Perla. Sexy Gorgeous lingerie. I expected the same experience with this fragrance. First impression was a dirty wet rag. Dried down to a more smooth light floral wood but that was short lived. The fragrance was completely gone after 45 minutes. Not expensive, certainly not as much as the undies, I understand why.

I tried this before I looked up the notes. I’m surprised there is patchouli in this! Usually I’m not a fan of patchouli heavy frags so I’m glad I’m not getting it. It’s very woody and musky which I love. Not getting any fruit. Musky, woody, a bit earthy and a tiny bit floral.

A Lovely Woody Blackcurrant Patchouli. Well blended. I do not have anything in my collection like it & I love these notes! The closest would be Jimmy Choo, but, IMO, it's better than that. SWANKY

I saw the reference below it reminds them of Bond No 9 NY for her~ To me they couldn't be further apart. That's Blueberry Muffin compared to this almost Arabic Patchouli.
