La Perla Signature

Signature is another winner from La Perla. I am loving "Luminous" right so much so that I ordered this blind. I'm so glad I did. This is one of those fragrances that smells so good you just want to inhale deeply. Very feminine, easy to wear, easy to love, and sure to be a crowd pleaser. Signature has a strong fruity note, nectarine draped with orange citruses, it is sweet and rich and almost honeyed. The violet smells like water, it's like a water infused violet--not watery, actual aquatic water like others have said. I don't always like aquatic fragrances but here it's used as a note, not a focus. It adds a hint of smooth greenery--water green, violet green--under the strong nectarine notes. As it dries down the jasmine with orange blossom/neroli keeps things sweet, but not as sweet as the fruity nectarine top. For me, when I wear this to bed, and wake up with the dry down, the fragrances is just as wonderful as when I first put it on. It's a gorgeous wooded white floral, cedar and vetiver, but still frosted with white flowers. What a beautiful mix. Really this is feminine and beautiful. It's a floral fruity it's so much more complex than that. It's winter now, and makes things a bit brighter and cheerful, but Signature is also going to go so well with a summer dress! I hope that La Perla puts more out in this line so far the two I've worn, Signature and Luminous, have been stunning. I know I'm just using a lot of superlative adjectives but really, these two fragrances should get more attention than they do. Plus on my skin, with a few sprays, they both last easily 8 plus hours, I have no issue with longevity at all. Great quality, accessible price, solidly beautiful, feminine fragrances.

Have you ever come across a fragrance you just can't put your finger on exactly what it is about it that appeals to you? I don't know what it is about La Perla Signature. I don't even know what made me try it when I don't typically seek out La Perla fragrances. There's nothing in the listed notes and accords which would have made me know it was a safe bet I would at least like it. I've enjoyed many fragrances from perfumer Louise Turner, but not all...so it wasn't her. How ever I got to this composition, luck surely must have played a role because the one thing I'm sure of is La Perla Signature is lovely, and not stumbling across it would have been my loss. To be clear... Signature is not the-- WOW, this is amazing, unusual, and will stop everyone in their tracks perfumery as art experience-- you might hope for. It's the --I can wear this every single day and feel comfortable in my skin and know I am leaving a conservatively compelling fragrant trail in my wake--fragrance you need. Noteworthy --well blended, not a single note stands out for me. --wearable--all day every day --I, unlike the house description, wouldn't say overly fresh --delicate, but long-lasting on my skin --leans heavily feminine...to me La Perla Signature is lowkey lovely. So much so, that it may get overlooked in a market filled with fragrant whistles and bells. It will need a chorus of voices singing its praises to get the attention it deserves. Try it, then join me in the choir.;)

Completely and utterly obsessed. La Perla did an incredible job with this. I am extremely picky with scents. I like fresh scents that are chic and modern without smelling too harsh but, I also like more citrusy scents, it's very tricky finding a perfume/cologne that marries fresh and citrus in a smart/classy way. I could not get this out of my head after sampling it in stores. I instantly purchased it the next day. I noticed a smell on a shirt I had worn the day before when I sprayed this and wondered what smelled so incredible then almost instantly after I remembered that I sprayed some of this perfume on my blouse. If MJ's Daisy So Fresh and Chanel's Chance Eau Tendre had a child this would be it, it's the best combination of both, without being overly sweet/young like Daisy So Fresh or oppressively strong/headache-inducing like Chanel's Chance can be. The sileage is also wonderful, this is not a perfume that sits too close to the skin but at the same time, does not announce itself when you walk into a room. The fresh notes of this perfume are blended wonderfully where the freshness is achieved without being harsh and the citrus/flower notes are incorporated without being another generic, yawn-inducing women's fragrance. I am rarely in love with a perfume's top notes AND notes in the dry down-- with this I cannot figure out which I love more. Chic, modern and classy. New signature scent for sure.

Beautiful, easy to wear, clean without being soapy or aldehydic. Modern throwback to the 90s iconic aquatic, calone-type of scent. This one is a total sleeper imo. I can’t figure out why more people aren’t talking about it. I almost get a black tea type scent right on top but I’m guessing that what others just call “woodiness.” To my nose it’s a clean, aquatic, floral. I get more floral than citrus. Also, neroli is a note I often struggle with but here I don’t pick it up at all. The aquatic quality is so fresh. It’s very well blended. This is my favorite scent to wear to the gym bc it’s just so clean smelling. For that reason this is maybe much better suited for daytime wear, but you could wear it literally for any occasion. Very inoffensive. Great for the office. If you’re looking for a new easy reach sig scent, this could be it. Especially if you love Aqua do Gio, or Light Blue. It’s not a dupe for either but to me same category. Not the longest lasting. It does better on clothes than skin. Such a beautiful scent though. Not super original or niche but absolutely still worth your time.

So, I was bending down reaching for one of elie saabs perfumes on the store when I looked up and eyed up this somewhat classy and bygone era looking bottle. Unfortunately I’d already sprayed myself but had to smell this and wow it caught my attention! Fresh and powdery and musky, womanly and vibrant. Something so sensual and commanding but not obnoxiously demanding of attention. Very beautiful. I must love violet as it didn’t hit me right away what it was but I do love violet in perfumes so this didn’t surprise me upon being told. I loved this and ordered a bottle and am just waiting for this to arrive with such excitement I feel like a teenager awaiting their first kiss. Seriously beautiful fragrance. Will update.

La Perla is beautiful, gentle, feminine, flowery and yet fresh. Fantastic for summer. I don ́t like green scents, but here the violet leaves, citrus fruit and flowers are blended together in a beautiful harmony. There is even a little sweetness, which is great, as I need a little sweetness in my fragrances. I guess it comes from the nectarine. I can ́t smell woodsy notes. Asi it is stated in a few reviews, it is very similar to Tommy Girl. I loved Tommy Girl years ago, so La Perla reminds me of my twenties.

If Vivid by Liz Claiborne was slightly tweaked and retouched to make it slightly more modern, this is what you would have. It is absolutely gorgeous. I will have 5 bottles of this (in case of discontinuation) on hand before too much longer, because just like J’adore Absolu and Vivid, I definitely do not want to run out

honestly my favorite perfume of all time, and I've been trying to find more like it since I love the essence of this so much. It's bright, crisp, cool, sweet, airy, and a bit ethereal. It just smells so pretty and feminine. To me, it's a similar vibe to Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet.

This is a beautiful slightly powdery violent fragrance. This could be considered a freshy with really good lasting power. It reminds me of walking through Bergdorfs. I can imagine a really wealthy stay at home mom wearing this.

The most fresh and floral perfume with white flowers that I have in my collection. Crazy projection and good durability. Very similar to Dior’s Blooming Bouquet, only more durable and radiating than it

This shares quite a few similar notes with Vince Camuto Fiori, Marc Jacobs Daisy/Daisy Eau So Fresh, and Chanel Chance Eau Tendre EDT. And like the reviewer below me said, I can actually smell all of the notes listed at some point in the course of wearing this perfume. I am not saying this is a dupe of any of those other perfumes I mentioned, but it definitely gives me very similar vibes. I didn't actually smell the similarities at the first spray, but after 10 minutes or so it really started smelling familiar to my nose. It's a light floral that is sparkling, airy, citrusy, and fresh like all four of the above, but with more woody notes added to the dry down, which makes it a bit more "grown up" to my nose. This is also a bit sweet from the fruity top notes, and creamy (but not vanillic or powdery) and to me it's less musky than those other perfumes. How it evolved on me: Initial spray/top notes - lightly fruity-sweet nectarine and sparkling citrus. It's a tiny bit dewy and fresh, but not really green or aquatic. Mid range - fresh florals start to emerge, and this is where it seemed most similar to Fiori and the others. I think I get more jasmine than neroli, and it's maybe a tad green from the violet leaf. Dry down - the florals remain, although less strong, and mingle with the cedar in it's clean and dry sort of way, since it's not a rich resinous wood. I think the "dryness" I get is from the vetiver? This is pretty! I feel like it should have been in a pink or white bottle though. The black bottle is stylish and pearl-esque for sure, but it looks like it should hold a more exotic or high-end juice. To me this is a spring/summer kind of fragrance. I live in a desert climate and have dry skin, which always makes longevity an issue for me with most perfumes, but this seemed to last at least as long as any of those do - which was about 3-4 hrs for me. I do happen to really like all the other perfumes in the same vein that I mentioned above, but I still have all of those so I didn't buy a full bottle of this. My review is based on 3 days of wear from the generous sample that the sales associate made for me. I find it to be a very pretty scent indeed, but it's similar enough to things I already have so I don't need this in my collection - especially when I can find Fiori for about $20 USD. If I didn't have any of the others then this would be full- bottle worthy for me.

From a carded sample from Nordstrom, on skin and clothes, this is a creamy floral with the lightest touch of sweet and tart fruit. I say creamy not in the indolic-white-floral type of way, but rather it actually comes across as the lotion version of a perfume, if that makes sense. I instantly thought of the new body mist from Chanel, No1 L'eau Rouge Chanel for women in the red bottle. From memory, they aren't copies, but they have that same freshness and lively zing. If you hate woods, this is still worth a try. The woods aren't prominent, but instead are used to smooth out the floral and fruit and give it a tiny bit of depth. This is traditionally feminine despite the vetiver and wood combo. I'm seeing a few reviews saying powdery, but I'm not experiencing that. This is smooth and soft, but I'm not getting a vintage, retro, or grown-up feel from this. The bottle throws me for a loop, infact. This is playful, light, and happy which is deserving of something pink or feathery or crystalized.

La Perla Signature is a straightforward, inoffensive sweet floral-fruity scent. It smells familiar, even verging on the generic, but it is pleasant throughout. As @fragrancelesque below points out, it is quite 90s in style. LPS opens with fresh, juicy citrus, followed by a nice green violet leaf note. Orange blossom makes for a pleasant, if predictable start to the floral accord, paving the way to the juicy nectarine note that dominates the heart of this scent. Jasmine rounds it out, adding a clean, powdery floral quality to the background. Predictably, it becomes slightly woody as it dries down, with some muskiness in the base. The sweetness remains until final fade. It becomes somewhat thin during its later stages. Sillage and longevity are moderate. A good spring/summer feminine day scent, if unexciting and interchangeable with many other similar offerings. Still, good overall and a safe crowdpleaser. 2.5/5.

I was excited to try the La Perla Signature after having mostly good luck with the new 2022 La Perla line. It's nice yes, but too commercial smelling for me. The person who said it is similar to Daisy is dead on. Anyone who came of age in the 90s will recognize it and probably have plenty of memories associated. I think it is slightly more elevated and feels more flexible than Daisy, but it is not for me, unfortunately. I actually think it could be Daisy with a little B&B Cucumber Melon, another memory triggering 90s scent that has been played out for me personally. I probably would not turn down a tiny bottle as there is nothing really wrong with it and I can see the appeal, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it either. Edit: After the dry down it becomes more unique to my nose and much lovelier, so I can see why people love it.

It's very aquatic on me. Especially the first spray. I could never love that kind of scent, but this one.. I do. After living off a sample for 3 days and still smelling it days and days later. I decided to just buy the 3oz bottle. I wish the projection was stronger. It does better on clothing/fabric. Smells great in my hair too. I wish to be more descriptive, but i can't for some reason. It's a clean, close to skin, kinda soapy, but not synthetic. Some moments i find the woody. The aqua note must be coming from the Neroli but it's balanced nicely by the jasmine. I'll update as i spend more time with this bottle.

The opening features a full, juicy peach alongside bright citrus. The sweetness is rich, almost honeyed. Just as it begins to feel a little too sweet, violet appears with a hint of watery greenness, adding a fresh layer and giving the fruity sweetness more dimension. In the heart, jasmine and orange blossom soften the sweetness further, making the overall scent smoother and cleaner. The drydown settles into a quiet woody base built on cedar and vetiver. It is a fragrance with a clearly feminine character—sweet but not heavy. Longevity and projection are within a normal range.

I recently spritzed two different La Perla perfumes while at Nordstroms. I believe that this was the perfume that I tried, but it had more of a honeysuckle type note than what the ingredient list mentions. This line is nice, I liked the packaging -- and it was sitting next to the Delina De Marly display, so was within reach where I just had to spritz this before leaving the store. This line is nice - I like the classic packaging. I will revisit this and make sure that this is the one that I tried. It was in a black bottle.

Initially I thought of this as the cooler, older sister of Daisy by Marc Jacobs. The violet leaf, the jasmine, and the woody notes of Daisy all seem to be elevated by La Perla Signature, but I do like both in their own ways. It's a red lipstick perfume to wear with white furs and purple satin. Classic, powdery, I could see Lauren Bacall wearing something like this and though I don't have many like it in my collection, I'm glad I do have this.

Nice, clean, and simple. It has a bit of a bite to it, with the opening being more green and grassy, although it is just a clean, fresh, almost laundry-like scent. I wish this was a bit more bold—the woods don't even push it anywhere—it kind of falls flat. However, I really like this for something simple. I do not reach for it a lot, but I think for a good layering option or a simple clean scent, this is that.
