My Day

I received a sample with a decant order of something else and I was not expecting to love this, but I do. My favorite powder note ever - not suffocating, but uplifting & transporting. Heavenly! And the violet is 1~ day old petals, not fully dry and lifeless, but not sharp and too green either. This and the subtle earthiness (could be sandy, but not marine in any way) keeps it not dated and flexible to me. On me it is an arm length scent for at least 6 hours and then a skin scent, but this is with a vial sample. I found a good price on a travel bottle with some hunting (and decided to pick up some other La Perla scents as well) and hoping it will be the same or better. I think this would be the best as a spring or early fall day scent, but I could see it in the summer or winter and night time depending on the climate and occasion. Iris Poudre is very close by, but it's not an exact dupe. I like My Day better, there is something more than the powder cloud, like a highlight on top of the powder that makes it shine more for me. The similarity is closest in the first hour or two, but after the dry-down they are a bit more distinct and My Day smells slightly sweeter somehow.

Absolutely love this scent. Feminine, soft, powdery, clean. Reminds me of fancy decorative soaps but in a good way. I love to wear this when I’ve just showered and I’m about to go to bed. It’s very comforting and clean smelling. It’s the perfect scent for when you want to feel beautiful in bed but but you’re not trying to put out a “vampy” or “sex kitten” kind of vibe. This is more elegant. It’s a sensual, bedtime perfume and that’s how I most often wear it. Can easily be worn during the day as well. Probably not a date night scent but it’s very inoffensive and technically you could probably wear this anywhere anytime.

La Perla's My Day is a soft, powdery, ethereal aldehydic BEAUTY!! She is divine. I adore perfumes with that classy, vintage vibe that make me feel like I could be living in the 30's or 40's and this gives that. That said, this smells perfectly timeless to me, and could be worn anytime, anyplace: it's very clean and pure. I love the earthiness the carrot seeds lend to the gorgeous iris note, wrapped in a layer of soft, comforting cashmere woods. Absolutely enchanting!! Update: the La Perla fragrances are being discontinued so if you love this, STOCK UP!!!

Oh This one i nice! It is warm, floral, sweet, but not heavy. To me, it has a nice balance between the notes. A lot of the notes are not my favourite when they are dominant, epsecially for the middle notes (tuberose, ylang-ylang, lilies, jasmin) but this is well balanced. I lasts for 6-8 hours on me, at settles beautifully. On my skin, it comes out with some vanilla as well efter 1-2 hours. I bought at trial set of all the La Perla scents, and this one I'm considering buying a bottle of.

I blindly bought it just after reading the notes and reviews. Very soft, slightly sweet smell, very elegant. Just like I imagined.

I'm quite taken with La Perla's new perfume line-up. Subtle and sophisticated in equal measure, the ones I've tried tend to feature a violet note prominently, which I'm partial to. My Day is a powdery violet-iris scent with some soft white florals and woody notes in the background. It reminds me of a less musky Balenciaga Paris, or a slightly more powdery, violet-heavy Frédéric Malle Iris Poudré - I prefer this to both. My Day is violet-dominant from the opening, more powdery than green, but freshened with a hint of citrus and soft neroli. A beautiful iris note emerges, subtle and powdery, complementing the violet to perfection. There is a slight vegetal quality to the opening, perhaps due to the carrot seeds. As it develops, soft, sweet white florals emerge, complementing the violet-iris accord. They become more prominent as the violet fades, but are kept powdery by the iris. It is hard to pick out individual notes, being restrained. The iris prevails until the drydown, enhanced nicely by soft woody notes. The cashmeran is thankfully subtle, adding a blurry warmth to the base, and there is a slight earthiness to it during its later stages. It fades to a powdery skin scent, with cashmeran and the remnants of the white florals remaining until final fade. Sillage and longevity are reasonably moderate, but it is quite subtle overall. This is a lovely violet-iris scent for everyday use - a pleasant and feminine spring/summer day scent. It is pricy for what it is however, but is a nice alternative to Iris Poudré - My Day is a superior scent in my opinion. Subtle everyday elegance. 4/5.

I was excited to receive a dabber sample of My Day as this perfume has been on my wish list since purchasing Invisible Touch; unfortunately, both perfumes have less-than-ideal performance for the luxury price tag. My Day lasts about two hours when I apply my typical (dab/spritz) on each wrist, and when I use it over oil and apply more than usual, the scent duration extends to about four to four and a half hours. I absolutely love My Day's clean, powdery scent, and I can appreciate the similarities to Prada's Infusion d'Iris and Solinotes Fleur de Iris! My choice for a fresh yet cozy, powdery scent would have to be Solinotes Fleur de Iris, as the smell is similar enough to My Day, the longevity averages four hours, and the price point of 28 CAD (Shopper's Drug Mart often has Solinotes on sale for 21 CAD!) that I feel more at ease if I overspray with the more affordable price point. It is worth noting that I love the La Perla bottles and how they look on my vanity!

Let me start by saying I greatly dislike soapy scented perfumes. That being said, My Day has just a touch of soapiness without taking over as it softens into a powdery base. As others have described, it is an aldehydic that leans vintage but with enough charm to keep it fresh. It is simple, pretty and uncomplicated - the beautiful bottle a perfect representation of the elegant perfume it holds.

Great iris with lots of airy freshness and musky base. It smells like lux scent, but the one that was done nicely! Iris here is not too earthy and not too powdery, it’s quite rounded with a touch of waxiness. It might smell slightly soapy, but for me it’s more about bubble bath, rather than old grandma soap. While I'm not feeling "tingling excitement" wearing this fragrance, it does give high-end hotel bathoom vibe. Those two ideas should not be going together. Ultra powdery orris and citrus scent.

A more sophisticated, earthier, more orris centered version of Chanel Paris-Venise. Beautiful, but both are way overpriced for what they are.

carrot seeds, orris and iris... I do not understand this combinattion, honestly. I love iris, but the addition of orris and carrot seeds makes it smell to almost like a baby diaper scent for me. Not for me.

Like Evasora, I purchased the discovery kit to try. I am not a fan of the dabber form the vials come in. A spray would help to evenly difuse the same amount of liquid, which is desirable, critical even, when the perfume comes in sample size like this. Also w dabbers, top notes are almost always non-existent and the scent become much flatter than it otherwise would be. With all that in mind, this is very soapy and masculine-leaning. The iris is there; you will detect it just fine, but very often it gets lost in the masculine soapiness. As time passes the masculinity soften but still makes its presence known. The soapiness is potent through and through. I would not describe this as powdery at all.

Heartbreak! This fragrance has the most beautiful fresh and uplifting iris opening. Not too sweet, not too dry, just perfect. The dry down is a super strong greasy, musky, sandalwood. Really masculine. La Perla - dabbers in your expensive fragrances discovery set, really?!

Powdery, soapy, aged. Smells like a musky bathroom air freshener you would find in the powder room in a restaurant that cares about the scent of its powder room.

To me this is giving chanel nr 5, old school soapy aldehydes, just a whisper of sweetness, definitely more on the glamour vintage side, won't be my iris but definitely a classy scent. I think all the florals make this feel a touch more old school, whereas I love my irisis peppery, powdery, make up bag esque, with a touch of sweet whereas this is vintage soapy, aldehidic, mixed floral, and a touch dry. I could see some oakmoss in the notes (not listed.) Drydown sweetens up and is really floral - floral aromatic gourmand. Lovely!!

This is the feminine orris perfume I've been searching high and low for! I was disappointed by Violet Ida by Miller Harris because the combo of orris and vanilla and carrot seeds there smells like play-doh. ELDO La Fin du Monde is a nice iris and carrot seed and sesame perfume but with a light projection. And MC Iris Malikhan is a bit masculine-leaning although I own a full bottle. My Day is creamy and delightful and sophisticated. Update: This started giving me a headache so I am selling my 30 ml bottle.

This to me, is a modern take on a vintage aldehydic perfume. It's not for me unfortunately. I definitely get a powdery, slightly animalic feel. Reminds me a bit of Chanel No. 5 and other classic "grandma" type fragrances. My husband sniffed my wrist and said it smelled soapy.

Purchased a sample after the reviews on here...There is somthing in the background of this that doesnt sit well on me ..its too sweet, too citrusy with no creaminess to balance... makes me feel nauseous.
