What is it that makes all these notes sing together in perfect harmony? The magic of Louise Turner? Now that we all know that La Perla is in the throes of a big financial crisis (if not bankruptcy), the price gouging for this beauty is unbelievable. What started at $340 retail price is now three to four times more. It’s beyond ridiculous but it is the world we live in...however frustrating and wrong it is... When I first tried it, back in 2022, after COVID was ebbing away, I thought it was a beautiful fragrance but not worth its price. So I just ignored it. Each time I went to Nordstrom, I’d smell it, get the occasional free sample (just because) and move on. Until I heard rumors of discontinuation. By that time, the perfume had flown off the shelves and it was damn near impossible to find a bottle anywhere. So I scrambled and found a 12ml somewhere on eBay and held on to my little samples from Nordstrom with my life. I even begged a Nordstrom employee to sell me their display bottle and lost my dignity in the process but damn my dignity, I needed Possibilities because it was now one of those rare items and my ocd for rare perfume was full on. I obsessed over it for weeks on end until finally, I understood that it wasn’t going to happen, La Perla wasn’t going to bring it back and that was it... Fast forward to last week when by pure chance, I found a full bottle, sealed and brand new, for sale on the grey market and took a huge gamble because it was priced at, you guessed it, $340!!!!!! I bought it immediately and now, I am the proud owner of this wonderful, beautiful, unicorn and magical potion! I am beyond happy. You all know what it smells like: flowery, fruity, lipstick-y decadent and delicious. This is one that I will cherish forever, it is one of my most prized possessions. Not because it was the most expensive (I have much pricier bottles than this one in my collection) but because it is beyond scarce and that’s what motivates me the most. Am I shameless? Yes, yes I am. But I am shamelessly happy. ❤️🖤🖤🖤

Here's the thing, I knew I would love this fragrance. There's an x-factor in this beautiful composition I won't be able to explain with just a review of the notes. After having a successful experience with La Perla Signature, I went snooping for more of the same. I really hadn't given the brand's fragrance lines any of my attention, but their Signature fragrance had piqued my curiosity. La Perla Possibilities, by the same magic-wielding perfumer, seemed the way to go. It's not, however, more of the same, not even close. Unlike Signature, which you should also give a sniff, Possibilities is a wearable statement maker. It's not a fragrance along for a lowkey ride throughout your day; subtle and background. Instead, it's driving the convertible while wearing lingerie. It feels intentionally sensual...aware of appeal. You need to be sure when you spray this one on that you are up to no good ;) and while I love it, not everyone will enjoy this throwback fragrance, but they definitely should :) Noteworthy Possibilities has a wonderful --up to no good vibe :D It's warm and invites others to consider a lean in. On top --a slight pepper opening, but mostly freesia. The black currant isn't a distinct player for me, but I do get a fruit note. It’s deep, not bright or flirty. The middle --is a rose, a warm and spicy rose but I still smell freesia as well. I'm not familiar with the fragrance of petalia, but there's another floral lifting off my skin here. The base --is still carrying the rose and a bit of something pretty and patchouli-ish to my nose. The cashmere wood is lovely and the ambergris knowing. Possibilities went immediately to my Fragrantica favorite shelf, where it will remain as far as I can tell. I don't think I'll ever be without this one. It just feels too good wearing it, to even consider that possibility.

I tried this fragrance due to the hype that it has received and I was not disappointed. When I wear it, I feel really elegant and confident. It is such a beautiful and modern take on a rose-forward floral composition. I say that it is rose-forward, because, of the floral notes, it is the most prominent to my nose. However, it is not overpowering nor is it dominating. I can definitely smell freesia and orange blossom as well. The vanilla and black currant keep it from being too floral but are definitely in the background; I would not classify it as a particularly vanillic or fruity perfume. One of the most alluring aspects of Possibilities is its spiciness, which is very much due to a pepper note. While I enjoy the pepper note, I could see it being a turn off for many people, especially if pepper tends to be strong on their skin or they do not enjoy that kind of spiciness. So, I strongly suggest sampling (not blind buying it based on the hype). I would say that it is in the same family as Atomic Rose by Initio, as both are floral, rose-centric fragrances that have a spicy quality that is due to pepper (not the kind of spiciness that is found in Portait of a Lady, for instance). However, I enjoy Possibilities more than Atomic Rose, which I consider to be a bit too sharp. I am also somewhat reminded of Narciso Rouge, even though Possibilities is more spicy and fruity, while Rouge is powdery and musky. Maybe the rose and orange blossom are similar in both or I just equate them based on the way that they make me feel: pretty, elegant, put together, and confident.

Just got a 15mL travel bottle from eBay! Lucky me because there were only 2 and I got one! Review to come....this one is nice. Demi Rawling got this one right. It's a peppery, spicy rose scent. It's warm, it's sexy, it's inviting. The spices and roses are a 1:1. The freesia provides some nice lift to the scent, keeping it from getting too heavy. The base is a sweet, smooth one with the woods, vanilla, and musk. Projection is good and the longevity is even better. A few spritz should keep you smelling good for a solid 8 hours. I layered it with Roses Vanille and it's muah! Chef's Kiss! Even rosier and even sweeter-just my style. This is a great date night scent from a very prestigious lingerie company so, nuff' said. On duping, I know there's a company that dupes an insane amount of fragrances. I'll have to search for them and I'll post a link. Julianna's Perfume has a way you can suggest fragrances for their line to dupe and popular ones get duped. If you want to try something close, on dry down, Sweet Diamond Pink Pepper by Kayali layered with Roses Vanille by Mancera smells similar to the dry down of Possibilities, it's just missing the freesia and black pepper note, it's also a little sweeter. I think I might actually like those 2 together more, tbh. They also have more projection. I purchased this incredible fragrance on my lunch break at a discount store, at a discounted price (100$😲) And I had to haggle that! I thought the sales lady had lost her MIND. I bought it in the summer, and knew that I could not wear it at that time. I allowed it to macerate until the fall, but FORGOT that I owned it, so it sat for even longer. I cannot stress the importance of maceration as it relates to fragrance. This perfume will only suit the woman that wears herself with extreme confidence in every situation. You cannot expect to enter any space wearing this, and not be recognized. Attention will find you, noses will follow you, and all eyes will be on you. I had NO IDEA this perfume was going to touch the lives of so many🤭😂 whats sooo funny to me is, I probably would have not started wearing it had my son not started sneaking into my room spraying it on before going to work! This perfume is perfect for layering, and I actually recommend it in some cases. It can be overpowering. If you are outdoors, not so much, but indoors, it needs softening. A vanilla based fragrance dances beautifully with this one.
