Athletic Man

This one of my favorites, when I look for pine scents I'm after a pine vibe of the original pine sol cleaner, I don't know why its one of my favorite smells, I clean my floors every weekend using it. The pine in this is bright and airy, and there's a sweetness to it from the cedar. Not overly sweet, more like woody sweet similar to BH, I like to layer BH edp or parfum with this. Ihave HBBE and the labdanum is definitely there. I remembered the first sprays smelling synthetic so I used it as a car freshener and room spray at first. But after letting it sit it the closet and give it the same respect as BDC, It has blended and smells amazing, def more smooth. Since I have collected 10 bottles and they're all dated for 3/2026. Please La Rive keep this one going, it's a sleeper gym scent or layering. As a gym scent it lasts about 5-6 hours projecting about 4 before becoming a skin scent and dying out. When layered it adds sillage to and doesn't affect the stronger scents longevity.

CGV nailed it! This is a clone of VINTAGE Adidas Active Bodies. IMO the best fragrance Adidas ever made and nothing like the Adidas colognes today. Perfect gym scent. It's been well known woman in Europe, especially Poland went absolutely crazy over Active Bodies original cologne from Adidas. Well, LaRive I'm sure will do that same because it's a definite clone. Fresh, sporty, masculine and a panty dropper for sure. Best of all, hardly anybody knows about it and therefore, it would make an excellent signature fragrance. At less than $20 for a 3,4 oz you'd be crazy not to blind buy this, Trust me you'll like it and your girl will love it!

Yes! Thanks for the head's up, CGV, this is an excellent rendition of the original Adidas Active Bodies and I couldn't be happier! It is rare indeed to come across a remake that so closely resembles a lost scent, but this really does and at an amazingly low price! If you lament the loss of the original Adidas Active Bodies, take note: La Rive has revived it! Great stuff indeed!

Just finished my second bottle (see my review in 2016 below). Love love this juice. Buying my third bottle today for only $12 Its probably the best bargain in perfumery... period! I don't know if it's still popular in Poland but my nephew's 24 year wife from Poland just bought a bottle for him. So there ya go.

This is the perfect copy of Adidas Active Bodies like it was in 1990 when it came out. By now Active Bodies has changed (I am referring to the Coty version) and lost a good portion of its original dept. Athletic Man preserved that and kept it alive. Well done!

Never smelled Active Bodies, but I was curious to experience pomegranate in what I thought would be a pine-heavy fragrance. Unfortunately, on my skin, it's basically a whisper of labdanum and oakmoss with a few strange touches here and there. It starts off with that pomegranate-pine combo, which is actually quite interesting and not at all like most citrus openings. The pine is obvious, as is the oakmoss and cedar, giving it that dirty touch you might find in a vintage barbershop like Azzaro Pour Homme. The pine persists through the mid, outlasting the pomegranate; and the cedar gives way to a creamy sandalwood and labdanum combo which give sweetness, smoothness and a touch of warmth. In the drydown, it's basically a sweet labdanum, with nuances of oakmoss and pine. Rather simple and obvious. Overall though, the drydown is the best part IMO, so it's worth the wait. Can't say much for the performance on skin. Incredibly mild with virtually non-existent projection. Performs more like an EdC or aftershave and even smells like one too! I was honestly expecting a little more in terms of scent, but I guess for the price I can't complain. I'll have to get used to that strange opening though. Strange and familiar at the same time...really does remind me of a sweeter Azzaro PH in the drydown. Scent - 6/10 Longevity - 5/10 Projection - 4/10 Overall - 5.5/10

i found it in Poland for 6-7 euros few time ago. i cant compare it with the original adidas active bodies because i never tried it so far, so i can judge the fragrance for what it is. i can understand why my favourite reviewer chris from Scentland loves it so much, it's a unique blend with an old-school touch. it's mossy, ambery combined with pine and cedar that gives you a fresh and in the same time warm sensation. but we're talking about a mass market product, and that's what it is. the juice is not so dense, it's very light and thin, and the performance is a crap. the scent is great but the quality is what it is. if u find it for 6 euro like i did it's a good deal, but it's not whorty for 15-20 euros. at that price u can find something good and better performing( azzaro visit, proraso wood and spice, bogart pour homme, rasasi daarej etc...). a very good mass market product. scent-8 long-6 sillage-5 versatility-8 uniqueness-8 bottle-6 compliment factor- 5,5 my vote-7

Far better, to my nose, than Active Bodies by Adidas which has a musty mildew like smell to me. This one is clean and fresh in the opening. It smells of pine in the opening with cedar and woods in the base. I only detect the utmost slightest amount of sweetness (probably from the pomegranate). It is a very dry fragrance. It embodies manly stoicism. It seems to have decent projection, but is not long lasting with it becoming a skin scent within 3 to 4 hours which makes sense considering that this is sold as a ‘sport’ fragrance. I quite like this fragrance and enjoy wearing it for laid back exercises. Does well going for a walk or hike. Bike rides and stretching. Will do well if worn to bed as well as it has a calming effect. It has properties that make it feel most appropriate in cooler weather. Review over.

Think I tried it a while back at the store. Very 90s Moss Cedar fragrance, which does not induce nausea. Quite good for the price. One of the better offerings from La Rive. Not a Lux tier, however a quality mass market fragrance which deserves praise. Well done. Better value than nowadays Adidas or Puma fragrances.

Managed to get the Parfum Deodorant version of this, and it smells like Adidas Active Bodies I have, the COTY EDT concentrate version. Not bad for the price, smells very decent, and I can overspray if needed.

Athletic Man smells pleasant and mossy in projection, from about 30 minutes after the spray. Like many dirt cheap fragrances, the opening is rough and one shouldn't sniff and inspect this fragrance closely, at least not at first. Overall, good enough, but there are plenty of these old fashioned fragrances around, from design brands, offering more complexity, and still only 10-15 bucks. Update 2/23. The bottle has been sitting for 2 years now and the top has mellowed and smoothed out. Update 8/24 Three years old. It has a light touch now and is really enjoyable. Still, it's an outdoorsy vibe.

King of Sports scents! It embodies all that is on the move and the perfume together! The winter and summer, as the pine and fruit ...... the nature that cedar ... purity, which the moss ..... Spirituality is the labdanum .... concentration and meditation, which is the sandal .... Perfect harmony! Any given to co-move yourself! The fragrance itself is ageless, natural and athletic. Quality fragrance, high longevity, excellent price! Winner!

Can anybody confirm if the aftershave is different to the EDT? I just blind bought a bottle of the aftershave hoping for a trip down classic Adidas memory lane, but it’s not really doing it for me
