Not bad at all. Its just 1/8 price from the original no 5 and smells like an old formulation. To me its a must have. Lasts on my skin even after i wash it off with water. I wonder how cheap perfume can achieve almost identical smell like this. What a cost saving. Brand is just a brand. Doesnt reflect quality sometimes.

This a pretty damn good Chanel No. 5 dupe! It is a bit more synthetic but extremely similar. Funnily enough, though, its powderiness is actually more intense than the OG during first spray, so yeah, this is totally worth getting.

I bought this before it even listed on fragrantica, I bought it last year. I was kinda intrigued because there is no proper dupe for No.5, I would say this is not exactly dupe but like 95% has the gene. As usual la rive for the performance isn't that long wearing but this is quite decent. It has the powder-vintage smell that has been the signature of No.5 without the obvious civet note from No.5 newer formula. Somehow the store I bought this from sold this a bit higher than the rest of the la rive but okay, it's still in the range of $10-ish.

This is a very good dupe of Chanel No 5. It is a lighter version than the original which makes it a bit more easy to wear for those who are just dipping their toes into the vintage perfume world. This is very powdery and soapy and has decent longevity and sillage. I do recommend this for people who are ready to embrace vintage smelling perfumes; but I am unfortunately not brave enough to take that step just yet so I will be donating my bottle of this in hopes that it finds someone that will wear it proudly.

Smells like my childhood. Both like my mom's bottle of Chanel No.5 that was at least a decade old when I first tried it on and like my dad's suede jacket with the smell of years of smoking stuck on it. Very impressive, the bottle is beautiful, heavy glass and simple enough to be "believable".

I don't particularly love No 5, but I find it oddly addictive. This lets me get my fix at a much more palatable price point. It's not quite as smooth as No 5, and it evolves faster on my skin, but it's close enough to scratch the itch.

This is the Chanel No. 5 of my youth, close to the pure perfume, and superior to my current reformulated bottles of the EDP. I am so happy a swap body sent me a decant. I will be purchasing.

I hadn't made the connection before, but the opening reminds me of Nivea Creme. I'm glad it's finally autumn so I can fully enjoy this.

This is a N°5 dupe that's actually worth buying. Being one of my all time favorites, I've tested so many different versions of N°5. The current EDP, EDT, and parfum; similar fragrances like Coty L'Aimant, Lanvin Arpege, Guerlain Liu, Givenchy L'Interdit, and a handful of dollar store and drug store knock offs. Of all of these, probably the closest I came to finding something close to N°5 was L'Aimant. When reading the reviews here, I was tempted into getting this, especially with some reviewers comparing this to the vintage. When I spritzed this for the first time, I got a little ahead of myself with excitement, because this smelled so much like the real stuff. This definitely is a great N°5 dupe. I seldom wear my vintage colognes, so I had to get one out for a comparison. Of course, the vintage still wins. The vintage I believe uses nitro musks which are now banned (damn you IFRA!) and I believe this is probably one of the biggest differences between the modern formula and the vintage, as well as the modern formulas decreased amounts of oakmoss and jasmine. This, I find, is a very close dupe to the current N°5 EDT. It doesn't last as long as the real stuff, but with the low price tag, it's permissible. This is definitely worth getting if you want something close to the real stuff that doesn't cost as much, and you don't mind the difference in longevity.

The very FIRST dupe I've ever considered endorsing; truly, this IS Chanel No.5 edt in its best form. I've worn Chanel No.5 cologne for...ahem...50 years, and edt for nearly that long. The cologne concentration was discontinued long ago and the edp has always seemed too "dusty/musty" to my nose. What's on offer today in edt is a pale approximation of what it used to be so I purchase old bottles of cologne and edt on ebay in order to never be without No.5's heavenly aroma. Having recently read positive reviews of Chatte I gambled less than $10.00 USD and I am ABSOLUTELY stunned and delighted. I have no idea how La Rive managed to duplicate the formula for Chanel No.5 edt but I'm here to tell you that they did, and did so exactly. Immediately after applying Chatte smells a bit warmer and less green than No.5 edt (per wrist-to-wrist comparison) but in a few short minutes they're identical. I wore both to bed last night and this morning they're both evident on my wrists! My beloved older bottles can remain for wearing on frequent special occasions because Chatte will now substitute for every day wear - to work, the grocery store, etc. Do NOT hesitate to order a 3oz bottle for under $10.00 (free shipping) on fleabay. I've ordered another one but there are many left.

The name is hum...very annoying. I couldn’t tell anyone what I’m wearing without laughing or feeling very uncomfortable ! The juice itself is equally soapy-fresh, and incensy-dark. I love this terrible ambiguity. I don’t find it anymore in the current n5. So to me they are two completely different things, each of them having its specificities and obviously its place in my wardrobe. It’s a serious parfume, an architectural statement, intense, rich and cold. Nothing funny, nothing sexy, nothing motherly or wheedling. Grandiose, irreverent, a fragrance for a charismatic boss if she’s clever enough to forgive the price and the stupid name.

Curious to find out if this is, indeed, a good dupe for Chanel°5, I took the 15 dollar plunge and purchased a 3 oz eau de parfum. I get the aldehyde. Big time aldehyde. I get the muskiness and vetiver and even detect a hint of ylang ylang. But, to my nose, alas, a dupe for °5 it is not. It is too sharp and non enveloping and is missing too many of the Chanel trademark florals. Some might consider this a cheap, old lady parfum. The kind that enters the room before you do. It doesn't scream when on the skin but may be a bit loud spritzed on clothing. All in all it's not terrible but it's not very good either. An acquired taste.

I just grabbed two of these blind, for $9 each. I can't wait. I adore No. 5 in any form, and I would love to have a cheapie that I can spray ALLLLLLLLLL day long. Granted there are a ton of fragrances that give off No. 5 vibes like current Arpege and First by VC & A. Hot dog! My blind buys came super fast, and it's exactly as I'd hoped/expected! Not a whole lot of potency/sillage/longevity but it's not awful. Chanel No. 5 is more airy/ethereal, but really I can't tell the diff between No 5 EDT and this. Love it.

I purchased this because a couple of reviews said it smelled like older versions of CHANEL No 5 edt, and it does, with a powdery overlay of Nag Champa incense. It reminds me specifically of the bottle of edt I had in the early 90s, but with fewer sparkling floral notes. It's certainly not an exact copy and it fades relatively quickly, but still, there's something about it that makes me happy in a way that the current versions of No 5 edp I have do not, and the low price is a great bonus.

I am mid sixties and Chanel No 5 was much loved by me until I discovered 19. As someone who has known various Chanel compositions over the years you just have to love Chatte for the brazen copy that it is. Buy a cake of Nesti Dante's Florentine Rose soap, bathe with that and layer up the La Rive Chatte. Celebrate your inner Marilyn and enjoy!

This is exactly like the stages of No 5 but the process happens fast and is gone quickly. Loud potent aldehydes, waxy sweet ylang ylang, then powdery soft sweetness and light wood/musk. It's harsher/more chemical (not smooth) but when I want a thrill for an hour, I can spray this cheapie all night long. It certainly smells like No 5.

Bought this because I recently found myself into 5. I wanted my bed to smell like 5, but I'm not quite bougie enough to spray away with the vintages I bought. This definitely works for that purpose. On skin, I'm not sure it quite does it the same way for me. But, I don't have the edt or the current versions.

what a surprise!! was not expecting much for such a low price point but wow! yes this is totally no 5 premiere bright crisp sparkling aldehydes and citrus the bottle is gorgeous too
