Moon

I got all sparkling peach and a tiny hint of violets. This perfume really threw me off. I didn't look at the notes before wearing. I spritzed this on to wear before bed. I like to wear sultry or cozy scents to bed. The bottle is dark and is titled "Moon", so I ASSumed it was an evening scent. To me, it is not. This is very much a drug-store aldehydic perfume in the best possible way. It does not smell expensive to me, but for some reason it's nostalgic even though I've never worn this before. I would wear this on a bright, sunny day with a sundress and sunhat. This perfume is uplifting and optimistic. It's very feminine and while it may be dated, I still love it. It smells more retro or vintage to me. I'm going to try this again in sunny. warm weather. I did not like wearing this to bed on a cold, winter evening. It has a time and place.

I don't get much peach in the opening of Moon but as it flows on, I get jasmine and violets and lots of musk. I'm also getting a spicy accord, almost cinnamon quality in this. I won't pretend to understand aldehydes (or chemistry for that matter) but maybe that's where it's coming from? On me, this is strong.....lasts 8 hours or so, moderate sillage. Due to the cinnamon quality I get on my skin, I'd wear this in autumn and winter. I've had great luck with blind buying the inexpensive La Rive products and they tend to last a long time.

It was a lot crisper and fresher than I expected based on the notes, but perhaps that is the aldehydes. I prefer to put this one on when I'm about to workout. One of the incredibly rare compliments my husband has given me about my fragrance was after spraying this on and then going for a run: "whatever you are wearing mixed with your sweat smells so good." A poet or fragrance reviewer he is not, so I will take it.

the black currant and bergamot notes definitely come through the most. its not really powdery to me, slightly musky and rainy. definitely would imagine wearing this at a romantic night out in the city covered in glitter.

Indeed, a good dupe for Boss Nuit, I get a lot of Aldehydes with bergamote and peach, nice and inoffensive, kind of fresh but not in a aquatic or fruity way, just airy fresh
