Alambar

I have been searching for my ideal amber in the last months (from September and up to now), I have tried so many amber based perfumes, and the winner is ALAMBAR! This is exactly what I was looking for: just amber, not too sweet, not too spicy, not too simple, not too "warm". In fact, ALAMBAR is a bit "cold", and a bit "clean", I don't know how the perfumer managed to make it so, but this fragrance is truly outstanding in this genre, expensive smelling and special. It's a tad powdery, too, I guess it comes from the cacao note, which is not strong here, just a tasteful hint of it, along with a hint of cinnamon. I would say - for a complex, elaborated, "mystic" amber go for AKKAD from Lubin, and for an elegant, refined and simple (in the best possible way) amber go for ALAMBAR. I also love 114 from Histoires, but to me it isn't predominantly amber, and therefore it's a different genre. ALAMBAR is totally unisex. Great sillage and longevity, and lots of compliments :)

Another one I tried years back and have now revisited after digging it out of an old samples box. Now only British (especially Scottish) readers will understand this next comparison but the opening smells of IRN BRU to my nose, it’s a pretty unique smell but is it kinda spiced orange I suppose? Anyway after that initial vibe dies back and the body of this fragrance is a sweet, spicy almost gourmand scent of amber & good vanilla with a poof of cacao, very lovely indeed but hardly groundbreaking even in 2010. A solid but soft amber from Olfactivo with good idea at its heart, complementary notes and that, which I enjoyed.

A symphony to amber, so simple yet so unique and breath taking. Alambar is clearly all about amber, it opened sharp and soon settled to a fantastic amber scent with loads of gourmandy cacao and vanilla goodness on the background. Easily could be worn by men as well as amber balances perfectly the sweetness of vanilla. Stays close to skin and wraps wearer in a soft, comfy blanket, longevity is great. Fantastic work, one of the best amber scents for the price. Worth a large decant or a full bottle for every amber lover. UPD: 8 hours later - delicious vanilla cookie drydown, gentle and simply amazing.

Amber, Cinnamon, cacao....and then vanilla...to me it immediately sweeps me away to somewhere exotic and dark-ish without being cloying or heavy or super dense, or brassy....blended beautifully, it's just right, just enough of spice for me...Okay, it may be evocative of older classic fragrances in the dry down but nope, not a one-note performance, still exotic and evocative for me and now I'm getting the creaminess another review mentioned and frankly a smoky vibe as well. Really like it.

I really like amber, it’s nice to have a good amber-based fragrance for those days. I really like the combination with the cinnamon and cocoa. I definitely get a lot more cinnamon than cocoa, but it’s there. Feels uplifting and cozy, with good sillage. After a couple of hours, it became more of a straightforward amber on me, but there’s a bit of a vanilla accord in there that lasts all the way through

It opens like a burst of warm spices (lots of clove) and slightly smoky and soapy amber. It’s super warming and nice with some alcoholic undertones (like whiskey or even beer barrels). Can’t detect much cocoa, but there is definitely some sweetness. Follow me on IG: scent.guide

This is a yummy easy to wear amber that has quite a cinnamon like opening but this dies down to a beautiful amber vanilla cocoa scent. It's not a challenging scent so for those of you who actually like something that is eminently wearable this could be your amber.

Has definite similarities to Frederic Malle Musc Ravageur, but with more chocolate. Not as strongly projecting, or as long lasting, but it works well as a much cheaper dupe. Overall it's a really lovely cinnamon, chocolate, amber blend and I like it a lot.

Alambar is a beautiful amber fragrance! Not as intense as some other amber fragrances I've tried. Soft spicy, cinnamon and light cocoa stands out the most. Very cozy and delicious, super wearable, feminine, mild and very well rounded.

The fragrance is rather simple, an amber chocolate with some vanilla and cinnamon. The opening is brightened a little bit by the bergamot, to then dry down more spice heavy. This is the perfect fall transitioning into winter scent.

I bought the first bottle of Alambar in 2015, and I just got one delivered today. Happy to say the formulation hasn't changed a bit. Fantastic scent for amber lovers (like me) with a subtle twist of spiciness.

Nice warm and big amber opening, but for me I honestly thought it was initially more musky when testing it blind. Maybe it was the addition of the vanilla, but I don't get much in the sense of sweetness. Less so is any sense of the cocoa. Maybe there's a hint hiding under the amber but I don't get the impression this is a cocoa fragrance, and far from it. The cinnamon is also slight, adding the sense of warmth but I'm not getting spicy cinnamon. All this is good, in the sense I get a warm, inviting amber fragrance that feels cozy like a firm hug. The amber can at times read as leaning a hint heavy, giving a more familiar traditional sense where something more contemporary with the other notes would be more interesting.

This one’s a pretty easy mix.....amber. There are some other notes, as the note scheme says, but it’s basically amber. The heart of the fragrance does possess a little twist of notes, which I’m thinking is vanilla and cinnamon. But all in all it’s designed as an amber fragrance. It is a very good quality, lasting probably twelve hours and the sillage is just right. People will probably smell it on you, but it shouldn’t be overbearing unless you really pour it on. Very nice.

Even though I perceive the sillage to be strong, Alambar is one of the tamer and smoother amber perfumes I know. The cacao and vanilla notes contribute to the velvety sweetness once the bergamot note faded, while a hint of cinnamon adds some excitement. It is an inoffensive amber perfume, perfect to wear indoors without risking a headache. I, however, prefer my amber perfumes to be more complex, reminiscent of churches, ancient libraries, candle-lit dungeons...

I have a big junk of real amber tree resin from india. This smells very similar to it. I have been tring to finde a a Amber fragrance that realy autenticaly shows how Amberresin smells and I think this is it. Go for this instead of MFK. Works great all year round just aply lighter in warmer weather but it sings, I tried cold and warm weather and its rounder and creamier in summer. I actualy prefere it.

This is a great long lasting fragrance, but. In the beginning it's kinda old school, herbal, cologne splash. Their is definitely bergamot, myrrh, cacoa and cinnamon going on. This stays for a minute. Then only the heavy notes can be smelled. After the myrhh and cacoa drops, you will smell the amber as in benzoë Siam for the rest of the day. It's raw... Great amber scent, for the price it's fine.

it’s really intense on my skin and i found myself enjoying it more in the drydown when vanilla came out. i liked the citrusy opening as well but amber was a BIT too strong. overall i like it. i had a slight headache thoughout the day though, not sure if it’s from sniffing it constantly or the fact that i drank insanely small amount of water

Alambar is a true amber bomb! It's warm, spicy and incredibly comforting. The bergamot in the opening adds a slight freshness, but it quickly gives way to the rich, resinous amber accord. Cinnamon and vanilla add sweetness and depth, making this a perfect scent for cooler weather. It lasts forever on my skin!

Opens with bug spray, but dries down to a wonderfully complex spicy amber. It has a bit of a soapy vintage feel that makes it a cold-weather version of potpourri by santa maria novella for me. There is also a bubblegum aspect which I don't entirely love, but it works in the perfume overall.

It was probably unintentional but I find this to be a near-perfect dupe of Phul-Nana (original vintage) by Grossmith. I wore both on different sides of the same arm and I could only tell which was which because I remembered where I sprayed.

This is somewhat what I expected MFK Grand Soir to be. Amber, without the lavender from Grand Soir. Talking about scent profile here, not performance - Grand Soir is a beast, Alambar is not. The sillage and longevity is solid average hear. Initially from the bottle, it gives a bit of old lady perfume vibes. But soon it turns into this beautiful rich sweet amber. Cannot feel much of other notes. I believe there are better amber perfumes out there, but this one is a solid option.

Great take on amber. I feel like this perfume could've been a Serge Lutens easily. Chocholatey, powdery, sweet but not sickening sweet like some ambers can get. There is also a lot(like LOTS) of cinnamon here, so if this note isn't for you, better stay away. Very original smelling, as I have never smelled anything like it before. It also leans vintage, imo.

very good, but gets mogged by ambre 114 and other edible amber vanilla perfumes it being in the same price range too just seals the deal.. this thing is redundant

A dusty, old house. Dry Amber with a bit of warm Spice. Not a favorite but not the worst in the game

Tried this today and I gave it a few good sprays. Well, four to be exact. It's not bad if it's clove that you're after. Very much like Comme des Garcons, I would say. So much so, that I probably couldn't tell you which is which, if I compared them. Sadly, I've already owned Comme des Garcons a long time ago and I really don't wish to relive that clover bomb smell again. It's not bad and it does last a very long time on my skin, but then again. No!

I got a sample of this and yes it is only amber with a little hint of cacao. I usually don't like perfumes that smells to much of amber but this one, hmmm I don't know.....no it is to much amber.

This is Not it. The bergamot ruins it. It's quite sharp with a real bug spray vibe. Luckily it has just average longevity and below average sillage. So you don't have to smell it too long. Not at all mass appealing. The Amber isn't even very nice. It's on the verge of a "scrubber" for me.

This interesting Italian brand does not get the attention it deserves: edgy scents, but well executed; interesting and construction, overlooked accords. Alambar is a very peculiar amber. It is a rich citrus-amber scent stuffed with a warm, palpable and gorgeous medicinal-resinous feel, overall quite “sticky” like pouring resin. The colour of the juice is matches the feeling I encounter everytime I spray Alambar: autumnal and exotic at the same time. It is topped with a load of sweet spices (cinnamon, cumin) and a dusted cocoa juxtaposed to a vanillic-resinous accord posed on a slightly camphoraceous-metallic base : something like benzoin, just harsher, more synthetic and drier, so do not expect the confort feel you get with other bezoin scents like musc de sables (reviewed here). There is a gentle refreshing balsamic feel (kind of subtle) that softens the overall sweet-caramelised heaviness. If you are familiar with Enrico Buccella, his style and his “colour palette” are quite recognizable here as well; a much linear scent, a nostalgic chypre inspiration blended with contemporary metallic nuances, a general boldness mostly focused on ambery-resinous and spicy notes, which this nose seems quite fond of. It smells deep, rich, intriguing at first, gently evolving on a more bright and soapy drydown; it’s a good deal for its price, even if a tad linear. IG @alexolympia6

A prominent amber cinnamon scent, like you're walking through crowded spice shops in an indoor market. To my nose, this smells quite similar to Diptyque Eau Lente, my favorite perfume from that house. Alambar, however, is their nihilistic, more hippie little sibling. It is modern, and the amber + vanilla combo makes it cozy, something that Eau Lente doesn't have even though both are warm spicy scents. I feel like Eau Lente has more of a clear theme and artistry in its composition, while Alambar focuses more on technique and quality, so price value would depend on which side you prefer. Two sprays would be enough for silage to be within arm length, and longevity is to be updated. Truly unisex, suitable for cold weathers, and can be used both day and night. I personally still prefer Eau Lente, but Alambar is an okay alternative to those who care less about artistry and more about practicality. Update: The more this scent dries down, the less it resembles Eau Lente. At the final hour before Alambar leaves completely, it turned into this pungent hippie shop smell that had me running to the sink to wash it off. I think my skin chemistry amplifies that syrupy note, mixing with the spice made it nauseous. Maybe it'll work on someone else :/ Test before buy. Longevity is 6+ hours.

Going through samples from years ago I found this one again and gave it a wearing again... I guess the best compliment I can give it would be that I don't really like it, but still I find myself wanting to smell it looking for the good parts... It has this sorta frothy tinge to it that tickles your nose like some other fragrances. As if it was a drink, and the notes are fizzing to the top, the slowly create some froth around the cup, and then the froth slowly dissipates into a slight powdery smell. The chocolate cocoa is quite bitter as well, and then when have the cinnamon also tickling our nose again adding to this sorta maybe orangeish ambery drink that is now gone with just the froth left. As it dries down this tinge of notes slowly goes away and it gets darker, and creamer and more of what I like in fragrances. But still not really my thing. Just to many aspects I dont like that rub me the wrong way, but when I smell it I guess at the same time I still can appreciate it just a smidge that makes me soooooooorta want to smell it.

I enjoyed this scent, but I most likely won't be seeking it out. It's ambery-resinous upfront, with a gourmand streak of cacao and chai spices (cinnamon is clearly there, but nutmeg and something else feel like they're there, too), and all of this is backed up by a healthy dose of vanilla. This works as a unified scent, I feel, despite the apparent lack of many top notes, but for me the kicker is that there is a noticeable metallic element present. I know that I have a bit of a sensitivity to this note, and perhaps you yourself won't detect it, but I do, and as such, I am not a 100% fan of this. It's noticeably there, sometimes registering like a 2 or 3 on the charts, and other time a 5 or 6, but, as long as it's there, and perceptible, I feel uneasy about it...

I have heard a lot of great stuff about Alambar. This is my first encounter with the line in general, and the expectations were quite high. This is a lovely amber scent. If you know SL Ambre Sultan, this one is quite similar. A very prominent amber note surrounded by sweet vanilla, but in Alambar it is a bit more rounded, less green and spicy as opposed to AS. Alambar is a little diamond in the world of Ambers- while there are many great perfumes with it in their centre, this one really would work for every day situations as it is non offensive and quite low key. Oriental, but at the same time quite modern. Not as mystical and mysterious as some other amber scents, but I must say, tremendously enjoyable to wear.

This is an amber for the amber haters. I'm one of them and I freaking love Alambar! It's supersmooth and easygoing. Minimalistic, wraps you up in a warm but inoffensive cocoon, like a cream coloured angora scarf. Yes, it's predominantly amber, with a smidge of cinnamon and cocoa powder. The amber is more soapy than it's "chewy". It feels clean yet warm. And it's office-appropriate. And it's affordable too! Win win win. EDITED TO ADD: After aging my decant for 1 year, I noticed a substantial differentiation in the smell. Whereas the fresh version was a soapy amber with powdered cocoa, the aged version is a syrupy amber with cinnamon screaming at the top of its lungs. So, be prepared for some major shapeshifting.

ال امبر احتمال همون امبری هست که خیلی ها مثل من از ترکیبات امبری زده شدند ولی براشون جذابه . عطر زنونه معرفی شده ولی کاملا یونیسکسه شباهتش به امبر ۱۱۴ ایستواغ زیاده . رگه های زیبا و معطر اسپایسی حس ارزشمندی بهش داده . شیرین مثل بن بن لیمویی که رگه هایی از دارچین و جوز هندی و میخک عطر دلبرایی بهش داده . با اوردوزی از وانیل هرچی به درای داون عطر نزدیک تر میشم حس موسکی با گیرایی بیشتری ازش میگیرم که منو بیاد عطرهای کوکو شانل و اپیوم و کنزو جانگل می اندازه . این از اون امبری هایه اسپایسیه که فصل خنک غوغا می‌کنه و گرمی میبخشه به جان آدمی . کیفیتش عالیه . پرفرومنس هم عالی اگه طرفدار ترکیبات امبری هستید و مثل من عاشق بوی ادویه ها هستید این عطرو از دست ندید .

Cinnamon, Cinnamon, Cinnamon on my skin for hours! Im not complaining, i like it. But i didnt sniff enough cacao, which is what i was looking for later during the drydown. Drydown was as stated, Vanille, amber, and more cinnamon. I got about a good 4-5 sillage, 3 projection, and 7 longevity. I sprayed from a sample and emptied it out, about 2ml. Hence the cinnamon. But i work outdoors, so i wanted to see the stress take effect. i like it for the price point and discount i get it for, which is 119$ shipped. Wniter, spring.....2 spray summer. I smell orange, clove, a bit cinnamon on a very light amber base, which is not not dark or resinous, but more clean and sweet. More like a room scent for me. The dry down gets even soapy. Some ambers can bring me a headache, Alambar has this potential. Amber perfumes are really the hardest: To find your personal favourite can be a real pain. The best I found is L'Occitane Amber, so that you know, what my personal preference in amber is and you can decide, if my opinion is of any interest to you.

this is very much an amber bomb ofc, and I don’t really like amber heavy scents so this wasn’t my favorite. It opens with very prominent amber, fresh citrus, and powdery cocoa. It’s dry, sweet, powdery, and amber heavy. The heart of this has the amber warmed up with a dash of cinnamon, and a sweetly spiced vanilla. It smells like a powdery, spicy, sweet ambery cloud. The dry down has less sweetness and it’s mainly just a warm and powdery ambery scent.

Begins as a spice bomb, allot of nutmeg, & cacao spice, then goes chocolate with amber, & cinnamon. The vanilla comes later helping the cinnamon, and the nutmeg to balance the juice with the powerful amber. Then, it turn a bit balmy amber with sweet cinnamon, and hints of cacao powder. Quite interesting, and it's not a sweet amber, it's spicy amber.

Strong bergamot-cinnamon scent with a hint of cacao. Is there vanilla? In the drydown. The bergamot note makes the opening a bit harsh. The drydown is much sweeter, like a vanilla pudding with cinnamon and cocoa powder on the top. The performance is average, both the sillage and the longevity. Nice autumn scent, can be worn by both genders.

Has anyone here smelled Smell Bent Incensed? The opening has the exact same incense blend, minus the realistic burning wood note. After a while this goes mysteriously Powder Bomb, but after that phase it mellows out to a smooth and smokey spiced vanilla-cocoa. I see myself wearing Alambar when I'm feeling mysterious.

This is a lovely skin scent, ever so faintly woody, with warm cocoa notes and the merest hint of cinnamon that doesn't overpower it with a solid amber vanilla base. Not really gourmand on me, but of that ilk. Comforting, lighter than it sounds and no huge sillage. A really nice dry cocoa amber blend. Very nice.

I see no one mention this but this smells like sweet vermouth to me. I don't think this fragrance is boozy but I think the vanille provides such a sweetness to the amber and cacao that by some coincidence it smell like a sip direct cheap sweet vermouth. And its for that reason I'll be getting it soon.

This can't be very strong, since I accidentally spilled most of a dabber on myself while opening it and still can barely smell it enough to describe it! At best, I'm get a nondescript, soft, sweet scent that might be amber, but might be anything else in the warm/woody/resinous family.

Spicy, soapy amber. Sillage is fairly light. Reminds me of the character of Opium, vintage form. I've yet to find the cacao, which is what originally attracted me to want to try this scent. While it's a lovely scent, it's not unique enough to merit hunting it down to me.

I don't know who needs to hear this but Alambar + Bianco latte is so good! On its own, its a pretty vintage smelling soapy amber scent to me. I love the mid when the cinnamon comes out to play.

on my skin : amber and amber and amber & cacao from the start to the dry down! .......... comforting, soft vintage style. very good longevity 8+ hours. sillage is good too.
