Patchouliful

I went on a patchouli binge recently and tried many of the heavy hitters (Borneo, Coromandel, Psychedelique, along with some lesser known frags). This was one of the last that I ordered, and to be honest, I was ready to dismiss it -- my first test spray just gave me an overwhelming impression of white flowers, which is not what I was expecting. After wearing it a second (and subsequent times, for I am now addicted), my opinion has completely changed -- this is probably the cleanest, most pure patchouli in my collection. And by that, I mean it somehow avoids many of the characteristics I've found in other patchoulis -- it's not particularly earthy, there's no sharpness/skankiness to it. (Of course, I love them all). Yet it remains a distinctly patchouli fragrance, retaining its creamy, mentholic/camphorous, and vanillic properties. As it dries down, the white florals (probably the frangipani) I initially disliked seem to blend in and are tempered by the cinammon and clove, creating an overall effect that is cool and creamy and camphorous, but with a little bit of warm sparkle at the top. Once applied, I cannot stop sniffing it. In the spectrum of patchouli frags I've tested, I would put this closest to something like the dry-down of Coromandel. Which is not to say it is the same, but it is a similarly smooth take, where most of the rough edges are trimmed, leaving a smooth and sonorous composition. It is not my favorite (to me, Borneo is king!) but I could wear this as a daily. One other thing I'll note -- they are not the same, but I think if you like Diptyque's Eau Duelle EDT, you could like this.

This is going to be a brutally honest review: A little context (skip to the next paragraph for the fragrance): I was at the store in Rome and besides being an amazing experience smelling all the scents using a fan so that you can detect how they smell in the air, Patchouliful was the absolute last that I tried. I WAS JUST AMAZED and it is really rare for me to just say out loud "OH WOW" and then the sales rep told me that it is their worst-selling fragrance and at that point, I just gasped in disbelief. He insisted on trying everything outside so that I would not confuse any of the other scents in the air and let me tell you, I went home with a bottle without caring about the performance at all (not typical for me). This is a soft, spicy, slightly chocolatey and a bit herbal patchouli. There is nothing medicinal or earthy to it. I tried it without knowing anything about it and I was completely surprised about the frangipani note. At first you get patchouli and cloves with a small dash of cinnamon (very faint) and as time passes, the scent becomes something clean, musky, almost refreshing and leaning towards a calming spa scent. It is not a performer by any means, but it lasts a long time (8-9 hours) and projects softly around you (I could get whiffs of it from my hand where I tested it). It is a distant cousin of Patchouli Mania from Essential Parfums, but not the same scent by any means. That one is great too, but it's more woody and chocolatey by comparison. If you love patchouli, JUST GET IT, if you hate patchouli, TRY IT!

At this point, Laboratorio Olfattivo can do no wrong in my eyes. I have almost half of their line and I love all of them! They offer amazing quality fragrances, for all tastes and all seasons, with good or great performance for such a low price. You get with them niche for less than designers charges these days. Patchouliful is, as expected, a patchouli focused scent. It has supporting notes of cinnamon, cloves, labdanum, cedar, frangipani, iris and musk. Cloves are the most prominent spices in here and I love that, I love cloves! The patchouli in here is a very polite one: clean, smooth, green and pleasant smelling. The addition of warm, spicy notes, woods and a variety of flowers give the patchouli dimension and creates a beautiful contrast between the depth and earthiness associated with patchouli and the lightness and powderinesss added by iris, bergamot and ylang ylang. Patchouliful is without any doubt a warm, slightly sweet, spicy patchouli but it has multiple layers: tropical, citrusy, powdery, woody which makes the scent versatile and appropriate for wear most of the seasons. Maybe not so much for summer and very high heat. Fantastic scent with great performance and sillage. Got me so many compliments, from both genders, every time I wore it! If you’re into patchouli give it a try! It’s amazing.

This is so good! Extraordinary even. My first impression after spraying on hand and shirt was: wow, this is patchouli with benzoin! Now, checking the notes, benzoin is not listed. Cinnamon and cloves instead? I don't think so. Bezoin part is stronger for maybe half an hour or so, after that it's quite linear but benzoin is still there too. Very good scent! For a good price I'd definitely have more of it. In a certain sense it's similar to Nerotic which is also amazing but they are certainly different, just the fact that they come from the same house is evident to me (perhaps by some other notes' overlap).

The most delicious patchouli perfume I've ever smelled. This is a slightly earthier version of Black Patchouli by Dolce & Gabbana (and MUCH cheaper). I used to hate patchouli, but I've come to find that it's the dank, earthy patchouli that I hate. When mixed with vanilla, amber, or any other sweet note, patchouli really shines and is actually quite delectable

Cécile Zarokian managed to remove all the earthy aspects of patchouli, accomplishing a clean profile. Overall, it's a nice fragrance. I like it more than Straight to Heaven or Ursa. I don't understand people who say it leans feminine???? It doesn't. Unfortunately, it has no longevity or projection, so it's a pass for me.

Lovely chocolat-y patchouli with soft spices and smooth balsamic and ambery base. It has a bit of dryness inside it, I guess it can me from cedar wood or cloves. But overall it smells luxurious and impressive. Follow me on IG: scent.guide

On my skin its a niche version of LIDGE all the way. In the beginning more a earthy-chocolaty patchouli, later more spicy cedar. Projects great but not too over powering, and lasts whole day.

One of the most complemented fragrances I have ever received! It is wonderfully balanced and lasts all day long. I think they may have stopped making it. I hope not. It’s a winner!

I wanted a pure, Patchouli number and this one delivered. sure its linear and somewhat simple but its hard to hate, when it so tasty.

The best patchouli I ever tried. Would have instantly bought if I didnt already own TF Noir, but it's the next buy.

دو فضای مستقل توی عطر وجود داره اولی ترکیب زنبق و پچولیه که یک فضای خاکی و گزنده از پچولی رو ارائه میده که به واسطه‌ی زنبق،کاملا حس و حال خاکی گرفته و خود پچولی هم اجرا ای سبز،خاکی و علفی داره اما بخش دوم ترکیب مُرکبات و دارچینه که تُرشی مرکبات رو با چاشنی دارچین و البته رگه های اسپایسی_چوبی به رایحه ای کولا مانند تبدیل کرده و یک دوگانگی و آشفتگی اما در عین حال جذاب و پویا ایجاد کرده فضای گازدار نوشابه ای که گاهی هم سوییچ میشه روی پچولی اما دارچین غالبه از نزدیک که بو می‌کنم به وضوح میخک حس میشه اما تحت کنترله و صرفا عمق و پویایی به وجه ادویه ای میده نه بیشتر تغییرات زیاد ای از ابتدا تا انتها داره و چیزی که بعد از گذشت ساعت ها روی پوست می‌مونه،رایحه ای سبک از پچولی،ادویه و مُشک هست که از فضای ابتدایی عطر کاملا دور شده ***************** scent:7/10 longevity:7.5/10 sillage:7/10 purchase value:4/10 ******** overall:6.4/10

Medicinal, cough syrup patchouli vibe. Feels just right to wear it during the late autumn and winter not to forget about the common colds :) I purchased a bottle because I tested it 2 years ago at the small shop and was 100% it is a perfect patchouli for me. Turns out, I forgot my low tolerance to "yellow flowers". Frangipani involvement here feels scratchy to my nose and even with the general rounded JV Psychedelique atmosphere I cannot wear it. Having said that, I still consider it a beautiful take on floral patchouli. Performance and silage - mediocre (if compared to the beast from Cécile Zarokian Kashnoir for the same brand) but fine enough

Testing blind, this opens oudy and resinous but with an earthy sweet “root beer” sensibility. The sweetness dies down a bit and gets more wooden, but the hint of a vanilla amber sweetness lingers just enough, leaving the scent more viscous feeling. Behind this the root beer feel turns more warm, spicy and comfy. I get a little bit more of a tonka bean later in the day. Looking at the notes now I see where the notion of the root beer sense comes from, of the cinnamon and cloves, but surprisingly there's no oud or resin-like notes. Great price point for the longevity and projection.

the opening is definitely heavily spiced with a prominent clove and bright citrus but somewhat softened up by a sweet cinnamon. it’s powdery and warm. the heart of this is veryyy sweet and creamy, with a floral blend of iris and fragipani, with an added earthy and herbal patchouli. A powdery, sweet, and soft earthy blend. once we get to the dry down it has an almost marshmallow like sweetness, it’s a fluffy cloud with a candied patchouli. I loved this stage of the scent but then the labdandum created a problem as the scent fully developed a few hrs later...it has an extremely ambery and powdery ultra sweet baby powder scent here. then paired with dry cedar, it’s just an extreme amount of dry powdery accords with the sweetness becoming in your face with a resinous ambery cloud hovering over everything. This would’ve been amazing sans the labdanum it was just wayyy too ambery, resinous, spiced and powdery for me.

A straight-up patch bomb with some warming spices that really round out the scent. Elements of liquorice are also present, but only in the background... There are only a handful of patchouli scents that speak to me (I can't even think of one, at the moment), and so it's not a 'love' for me. If you love your patchouli, this will be RIGHT up your alley, no doubt...

Patchouli, iris, fragipani,...it is there but completely different than you would expect. You don't smell the ingredients clearly, but blended into a very strange twisted composition. The sweet beginning evokes golden-yellow older women's old age amber perfumes, but its sweetness blends with rot - when they open your tooth that hides decay...perverse in this sense of the word. Then it moves to old wood, a tall wardrobe on an old water fortress. The moat around the castle is half dry in summer and frogs with its lines of layed eggs send the smell of algae into the room through the windows when the wind blows...all this hidden in a thick innocent veil of the scent of blooming yellow flowers. Not pure, not fresh.

Florals, musk, patchouli and citrus. I have come to dislike it over time as I think there is too much going on here and some of it clashes. Pick one of the four notes I have listed and discard it. I vote the citrus. I think citrus ruins everything if it is not the star. Also I find it to be too feminine to be considered unisex.

Soft, floral, musky, powdery and the patchouli comes through. It is very nice. IMO this is not unisex. It is too feminine for me.

تست امشب پچولیفول . اسمشو دوس دارم خودش هم خیلی دوست دارم این چندمین تست من از این برند هست و میتونم قاطعانه نظرمو اینجوری بگم که بطور کلی برند بسیار خوبیه . پچولیفول هم کار بسیار خوش ساخت و خوش رایحه ای هست . با اینکه محوریت کامل رایحه روی نت پچولی می‌چرخه ولی خیلی نمیشه با فضای کلی رایحه بازی کرد و خلق نویی ارائه داد . ولی سیسیل زاروکییان با اینکه پرفیومر خیلی قدیمی هم نیست انگار اشراف کامل به عطرهای دنیا داره و خلقتی نو با پچولی رو شکل داده . به محض اینکه پچولیفول رو اسپری میکنید جهنمی از منتول حمله ور میشه بشدت تند و تیز و بشدت سبز با ی خروار موسک سفید . این عطر در شروع شباهت وحشتناکی به ادکلن بروت داره . سبز پررنگ .موسکی اسپایسی . تو قلب عطر با کمتر شدن حس فرار منتول ی آکورد زیبای فلورال بنمایش میاد . مثل گل‌های زرد و وحشی نقش آکورد اسپایسی تو این عطر خیلی پررنگه من خیلی بوی بادیان رومی میگیرم و میخک . روند بوی عطر همچنان سبز طی میشه انتظار پچولی کپکی و خاکی ازش نمیشه داشت . موسک سنتتیک اما با دوز بالا و آکورد اسپایسی و منتول فضای نسبتا کلاسیکی رو رقم زدند . که حقیقا خیلی شیک و زیباست . هرچی به سمت درای داون عطر پیش می‌رویم آکورد اسپایسی نمود واضحتری پیدا می‌کنه بوی رازیانه و بادیان رومی و میخک در کنار پچولی منو خیلی بیاد لنسان اکستریم گرلن میندازه . وی ادکلنی از برند لولییتا لمپیکا هست به اسم ماسکولین . اونم خیلی بوی رازیانه و بادیان داره با حس سبز یاد آورد بوی اون ادکلن هم هست برام . در کل پچولیفول بیشتر از اینکه نیش باشه شبیه دیزاینر خیلی با کیفییته مثل ادکلنهای بیست سال پیش که خیلی پررنگ و لعاب و با کیفییت بودند پرفورمنس عطر عالیه . موندگاریش روی پوست بعد از ۸ساعت واضخا دلبری می‌کنه با رایحه بسیار زیبا ‌. .

Un patchouli per chi non ama il patchouli. E' cioè un patchouli non ortodosso, che non piacerà ai "puristi"...E' un patchouli al quale è stata tolta ogni asperità, ogni terrosità pungente, ogni spina...E' stato levigato e reso sorridente di frangipani, cannella e chiodi di garofano. Profumo dolcefiorito, energetico, effervescente. Un patchouli ringiovanito, rinfrescato dal cedro. Molto bello. Frangipani patchouloso. Per chi vive aspettando primavera, cogliendone un piccolo anticipo.

Patchouliful is a gem flying under the radar. This is patchouli stripped from everything that makes is patchouli distasteful , leaving its clean and lovable essence to be enjoyed by the masses. It is as if the rest of the notes have been carefully and surgically selected to remove all the rough edges of the patchouli, but still leaving it at center stage. A very lovable patchouli compisition.

If you ever liked Zino but think it feels dated now and doesn't excite you all that much anymore , you always wondered what would it be like if Zino had a contemporary niche rendition , you'd be surprised if you ever got your nose on Patchouliful, cause it's all that classic goodness and more. If you are old enough to have enjoyed Zino this will let you enjoy it again without smelling dated.

Divine and sublime. Goodness in a bottle. The patchouli notes mesh with the sweetness to create an exotic blend, in my view. It lasts incredibly long, about 10 hours, on my skin. This is not a fragrance for men, for sure. Not like the Kierin NYC Nitro Noir patchouli scent, which could go both ways. I really love this on date night but would, personally, never wear it during the day.

The PATCHOULI This is the smell of the patchouli with some hints of everything to lighten the strength of the patchouli. It has cinnamon, frangipani, cloves, amber, lime, and lapdanum. It is the ordinary patchouli smell, but those notes that has been added to it made it less medicinal, and blooms. Edit (14th March 2021) Honey dew, honey suckle patchouli that what exactly it is.

Another would-be great, inquisitive Niche scente - totally ruined by the obligatory 'weirdo' note or just plain orange/lavender again to 'designer it up'. This time, it's the turn of the medicine vat of the cloves ointment store - so, spray your glamorous $150 perfume and,,, cure your cold??(!) Rich baker's cinnamon floral totally spoiled. Nope, sorry. My rating: 4/10.

The drydown is a nice clean patchouly but too sweet and flat. In the first hour of this scent a raw "dental" Cloves and some pungent cinnamon are levitating on the fragrance in a medicinal waxy way. The feeling is like open a shoe rack deodorized with a coconut flavoured arbre magique. Leather birch tones. A patchouly Weird & Cheap.

If you're truly into Patchouli, then you should give this one a try. I think it's very hard to find better at this price(£90 for 100ml at the time I'm writing this.) It's a full on Patch; very rich, amber-y, spicy and (unfortunately for me) quite sweet. Lasts and projects very well on me.

Patchouli dominant but softened with frangipani. Never experienced that before! Add some iris and musk at the base and you have what I consider a feminine take on earthy patch. Sits close to the skin in the most delicate and captivating way. I do not detect clove or cinnamon. ✨

To me this a soft, earthy and rather feminine leaning patch with that frangiapani mid note. I don't get the cinnamon or clove so they are very well blended. It is very good and a worthy add if you collect patchouli fragrances. Enjoy! ✨

Wow a masterpiece again by cecile zarokian. It is excellent and so nice scent. Patchouli and cinnamon composition is very beautiful with longevity and sillage very good. Great 8/10
