Coya

Excellent parfum d’une maison qui a beaucoup d’avenir et est très prometteuse. Le parfum tient énormément sur la peau comme sur les vêtements. Le rapport qualité/prix est très raisonnable. Le packaging est très attractif et d’une très haute qualité.

You're ten years old, in the middle of November, and you are down to the very last selections in your orange plastic jack-o'-lantern bucket. You reach in—past the purple boxes of Good 'N Plenty, past the waxy crinkles of saltwater taffy—and discover your last bit of chocolate. Its shiny blue wrapper winks at you. Almond Joy. It's been melted and reconstituted, and the almond is crushed. No matter. The smell that hits you when you peel the wrapper: that's Coya. I was certainly expecting, from the notes, a sunscreen-y, coconut, tropical sweetness. Sweet is extremely accurate, but the effect of this creation is much closer to what I get with Hypnotic Poison: a heavy, almond-y richness. The coconut is much closer to a coconut milk. It's creamy and milky without being lactonic. And even though I cannot stand almond extract (marzipan turns my stomach), I quite like this. And it's an extrait; I still smelled it on my skin hours later, with the tonka and almond (of course) notes lingering the longest. That being said, I do wish there were more brightness in the opening of this fragrance. It's not a light summer confection. But almond lovers will be delighted, I'm sure.

I always say chemistry plays a huge part. I was expecting more coconut, but I’m getting more of the almond. Thankfully I like almond, but the way many were talking about how coconut-forward this fragrance is. It’s pretty, but I’m still on the hunt for a beautiful coconut-forward fragrance.
