Lacoste Pour Femme

I think I've finally experienced being anosmic to a scent. I've read tons of reviews where people say they can't smell a thing, and I've never understood it until now. I can smell it right in the beginning. It opens up with a lot of alcohol and for the first minute that's all I can smell. Then I smell soapy suede. Maybe with a hint of pepper. The scent is very pleasant to my nose, clean and soft but not generic. This one would be pretty easy to identify I think. It does give me a nostalgia flashback, but I can't put my finger on why. But then, poof, gone. Or so I thought. I sprayed quite heavily on myself and about 10 minutes later I didn't smell a thing. I thought to myself oh well it wasn't expensive at least and then forgot about it. Hours later my mom was saying goodnight and gave me a hug, and while she was doing that she said "oh wow you smell so nice!". I was very surprised because a) my mom has smoked for 30 years and her sense of smell is limited and she usually hates perfumes, if she can smell them at all and b) I couldn't smell a thing on myself and it had literally been 6 hours since I sprayed it on. She then went on to sniff me some more and said it was beautiful. That's not what my mom does at all, ever. So this one is tricky for me. I can't smell a thing but my perfume hating, usually anosmic mom both loved it and smelled it! I'm going to keep it for a while before I give it away, just to see if something changes because I really like the scent for those 3 minutes I can detect it. I would recommend it for the scent alone but still I'd say try it out before because you might have a nose like me 😅 Edit May 2020 To my pleasant surprise I was able to "train my nose" better. After a couple of wearings I started to actually smell it on me for longer than a couple of minutes. And it's not like a "oh I smell a perfume" thing, I more smell this incredible fresh aura around me when I wear it. Every now and again I catch a whiff of something so airy and pleasant. It's like I'm putting on a dose of fresh air. Which I think is amazing. I love it. Will be keeping it to myself!

It's beautiful. Clean but not in a soapy way. Spicy but not in a clove type of way. SLIGHTLY powdery but not in a baby powder type of way. An absolute crowd pleaser but not in a "generic" way. A compliment magnet without being "loud." And beautifully gentle without being undetectable. This is truly a unique perfume, I have never smelled anything that smells like it. It's gorgeous and it does not scream for attention like other perfumes. It's the woman at the party that doesn't have to walk down the stairs in a lavish, huge, poofy dress with dark red lip stick to be noticed. This perfume is like the woman at a party that can be standing in the corner with little to no make up on and be so undeniably beautiful that she will inevitably be noticed anyway with no effort in doing so. I recommend this one for fall and winter but can most definitely be worn in the beginning of spring too. Only months of the year I wouldn't reach for this one is the months of the summer with scorching heat. The suede, pepper, and sandalwood in this come together to be SO damn beautiful, warm, cozy, and clean. It really is just so well done. Longevity - About 6 hours on skin. About 24 hours on clothing. Projection - Starts off with about 3 feet projection. But remains projecting 1-2 feet for it's whole life. It's got such a nice radiating quality to it. It's never too strong and never too weak. Overall Score - I think I'd give this one a 9/10 easily. It's gorgeous. Very age versatile as well. I'm in my 20s and I wear this. And I can picture anyone in their 50s wearing this. Big thumbs up to Lacoste for this one. I hope it NEVER gets discontinued.

You know that friend of yours—the woman whose house is always clean, and yet always totally welcoming? Organized and peaceful, with sunshine streaming in over a pot of jasmine tea and a pile of folded laundry freshly pulled from the line outside. The one whose children are clean and well mannered, but not in a scrubbed-and-restrained kind of way. The woman who will always stop what she’s doing to listen to a problem; who has a pile of greeting cards ready for every occasion, and always has the right words to personalize them. The friend who looks good with no makeup and blue jeans, yet always makes you feel secure and appreciated. The woman who exudes calm and maturity, with subdued but infectious joy. This is her perfume. It started out with a strange peppery-sour fruit blast, then quickly mellowed into something almost indescribable. I love the mention of “smelling like a baby’s head” in other reviews—it does, in a way. It’s a clean but still “real”, still earthy kind of smell. The floral notes are not hot-house loud-mouths, but combine to smell like a soft breeze coming in from someone’s wonderful garden—the roses along the back gate, the jasmine growing up the wall, the violets sprinkling the lawn. I am having a hard time truly picking out the individual notes (aside from using my imagination), but love the composition as a whole. I can barely smell it on my skin, but keep getting wafts of it as I move. It seems to have become a part of me. I just wish I were more like the woman I imagine wears this perfume  And I wish I had more than just a tiny sample bottle!

This scent is playing peek-a-boo with me. The fragrance itself is beautiful, exactly as I'd imagined it and as I'd hoped for. This was a blind buy, based on reviews here, intended to fill the vacancy in my collection that has been present since my bottle of pre-reformulaton Noa turned. Lacoste pour Femme is very reminiscent of Noa indeed, in vibe and in the scent itself. It also has some of that magic sparkle that Noa had before it was recently dumbed down. Olivier Cresp's touch is very much present here as in Noa. Problem is that the reviews were also right in terms of this scent's elusiveness. I can't say I wasn't warned but I'm still frustrated. If only it had a quarter of Noa's nuclear (on me at least) presence and longevity. Ok, I don't really need the longevity, I can always reapply, I just want to be able to smell this gem consistently and distinctly until it fades. Maybe I will use this scent to layer with others. I could see it going well with other low-key scents like Omnia Amethyst or Prada Iris or maybe I could use it to restore some sparkle to the new Noa . Edit - over a year later now and I have come to really love this scent. It's still very low-key but I am able to smell it consistently now. I really find that sometimes my nose has a learning curve when it comes to new scents.

This review is of the original formula circa 2003. I purchased this when it first came out. I was 34 yrs old. I gave birth to my youngest and treated myself with a new bottle. At that time I thought this was the best fragrance EVER. And it still is. It is so funny how 20+ years have passed and somehow the bottle still smells amazing. Proof that some perfumes were just so well made. It also intrigues me how it has a slightly dated smell VS today's perfumes. But not in a bad way. I see many mention "mature" smelling. I think that label is generally placed on a perfume that is no longer in the sweet trend of today's fragrances. In a nutshell, Pour Femme is freaking amazing. It pretty much lives up to all the notes that Fragrantica describes. But it leaves such a wonderful and mysterious trail that seems to stick around most of the day. It is feminine, soft, light in nature but persistent. All in a good way. Don't let the dated comments fool or scare you off. But if you decide to give it a go, grab the vintage stuff in the pale yellow dotted box. I have been sitting on this for years but I am not getting any younger so I will start using it again since the reformulated stuff is garbage.

Oh my God!! This one is absolutely stunning. It evokes nostalgia from roaming in the South of France and after being sunbathed, and stumbling upon a beautiful department store, it's warm and comforting, yet clean and elegant. This one could almost be a unisex fragrance in my opinion as the suede, cedar, sandalwood, pepper all evoke a masculine feel, but it is beautifully balanced with the garden of flowers like freesia and jasmine and hibiscus. It's so gorgeous!! This mix keeps it from smelling like "too much". It's such a timeless scent and really makes you feel refined and elegant, but not in an over-the-top or loud kind of way. Is it odd i just got my bottle and already want to buy a few back ups?!? My only issue is that it doesn't seem to last extremely long on my skin. Suede and leather smells usually dissipate quite quickly with my body chemistry. Nevertheless, a gorgeous scent I will continue to wear and buy... might become my new daytime signature!! I love deep, rich, spicy scents too much to make this a nighttime signature as well - I'll leave that spot to Fever by Jimmy Choo! Update: I find it only lasts no more than 10-15 minutes on my skin :(( Damn skin chemistry!

this perfume will always make me think of my mum. this was her signature scent for years. all throughout my childhood, this is what she would smell like. it suits her so perfectly. i would take her recently worn scarves and bury my face in them. when i became a bit older and wanted to start wearing perfumes myself, i’d always sneak into her room and spray myself with this. i would ask her if i could have it and she would refuse.. rightfully so. i adored it, immensely adored it. at some point she did give me a half full 30ml bottle of it, which i have, and of course initially i was delighted and would douse myself in it, but i would always feel slightly guilty. it didn’t feel the same. i guess because it’s just hers, not mine, and smelling like her took that comfort element away from it. i rarely reach for it now, mainly because i want to cherish what’s left in the bottle. she rarely wears it anymore. i guess she has probably gotten bored or sick of it. but for me, it will always be sentimental.

Beautiful scent. I checked out out notes listed here prior to making a purchase and it worked out amazingly! It takes me back in time, early 2000s type a perfume, creamy lotion like scent, with suede, violets and heliotrope. Those are main notes I detect. Yes something slightly spicy fresh and demure incense, well blended composition of ingredients, quality stuff, well done. It does have a posh lady aura about it. I could swear I have smelled this before on others and now finally I know what this wonderful perfume is. My new year best purchase so far! Wears moderately 3-5 hours, drydown is powder and suede which I absolutely love!! Perfume comparisons if you like this, try: Champs Elyses (intro 100%, no leather/suede) Kenzo Parfum d'Ete 1992 (creamy lotion musky floral no leather/suede here) Hermes Kelly Caleche ( more of a clean powdery suede leather) Rogue by Rhianna (spicy floral and one of best suede leather all the way thru)

I still remember how I really thought that Pour femme would be my signature forever when it came out. It was so pretty, fresh, delicate, feminine, easy to wear on any occasion and I always got compliments while wearing it. But then, was it maybe in 2010, Lacoste changed something in the formula and the packaging. Or was it my body chemistry that changed, doubt that. Pour femme became more woody, sour and the sweet flowery scent was gone by the wind. Longevity became so poor despite generous bathing in it, it just disappeared from my skin. So sad to spoil such a great perfume with changing its formula. I've had 4 or 5 bottles of it, still wear it usually at work but won't buy a new one. Times have changed and Pour femme will stay on my mind, but now it's time to find another signature for myself. Endless process, this damn hunting for a perfect perfume :)

One of the most comforting fragrances that I’ve got my nose on in my whole perfumery career Unfortunately I hate pepper and I don’t get any here Just a faint spice hints in the opening then it fades really fast the suede and pepper i get neither of them I’ve tried many suede fragrances before i know what is suede its a musky animalic cashmery note that I don’t have any issues with but i prefer not to have it And I don’t get any of it here So I checked in parfumo and it turns out its not a suede ! According to parfumo Its a skin accord and the spice in this fragrance is pimento seeds not pepper When it comes to which website i trust more i’ll say i lean for fragrantica but i find parfumo also very accurate in the notes... not in every fragrances !!! So guys check any other websites and if u found anything that makes sense kindly drop it here

Love love love, it's been years and never gets bored, it is one of my signature fragrance, and always become an add-on list before another parfume, since it's hard to find here and expensive in my currency rate 😔. It definitely blends on my skin, so fresh and airy, cold, as if you just finished from shower and leaves the scent from soap but not a soapy smell, i think the sweet scent came from the apple, I can't describe perfectly what kinda note or scent but everytime i spray or passing by my coleagues will definitely ask what parfume i wear. i would say this scent is perfectly created, many say it smells like scented sanrio letter paper. Although the longevity is weak on my skin but it leaves a good scent on the clothes and fabrics whenever my clothe sticked to them, i guessed because i was showering parfume not spraying it 😁

This soft, sensual, slightly heady floral is a classic and hidden gem that I love. I never fail to receive compliments on it, and it is incredibly well blended. It's one of those fragrances I pull out and remember that I love wearing it, and feel beautiful when I do. I hope this one stays around, and is reintroduced with powder, shower gel and lotion. It's without a doubt a keeper in the fragrance world, and I will never be without this one. I own so many classic and niche perfumes because I love fragrance, but I have to say......as a standout beautiful scent that is feminine and soft (and memorable) without being too fresh, spicy, sweet or strong, you can safely call this one a signature or wear freely, and compliments will come.

I got a bottle in a lot I've purchased cheap online and simply cannot believe someone practically gave it for free, cause this Lacoste is a true gem. It's fresh, it's somewhat sweet and it is absolutely seductive- in a mature, sophisticated way. It's sporty business like. It makes a non offensive statement because it's pleasent AND fascinating. On my skin it's mostly the suede note that stands out. Creamy, peppery, sweet suede. There's something Max Mara Kashmina -ish to it, although these two share almost no notes. It starts with a decent silage but unfortunately after couple of hours it's completely gone leaving nothing- not even a faint trace. It is a keeper anyway- even if just for the sake of its similarity to Kashmina.

My favorite daytime perfume! I love it, my spouse loooooves it and I get compliments almost every time I wear it. It's giving that clean girl aesthetic vibe. I detect the pepper note from the bottle but not on my skin where it just smells so fresh yet soft and musky. It's like my skin but better. 3 sprays in the morning have currently lasted on me for about 10 hours and there's moderate sillage as well but nothing irritating or overpowering (and the sillage does get more intimate after a few hours). Some say the scent is more on the mature side which I don't get at all. This is so not what a mature scent is, not to me at least. However, I do think it suits women of all ages.

A recent gift for my daughter, who at seventeen is graduating from more self-conscious sweet and youthful fragrances to more sophisticated compositions. The sillage from this is lovely: suede, peppery freesia and musk that seems to shift and change continually revealing different aspects of floral accords and soft textures. I agree with those below who note that tis is an 'aura' scent that, though not overbearing as 'perfume' is nonetheless a very definite presence. A great scent for someone who is looking for ways to project presence that is defining without playing aggressively to type; I can see how this would make a very recognizable and memorable signature for someone.

Ode to my beloved BFF: I love you as you're beautiful, elegant, reliable, flexible, and we're ever so compatible! Though I have hundreds of perfumes, you are my signature scent. I fall back on you whenever I'm in a quandary as to what scent to wear, or I simply feel like being myself. You never fail to garner compliments, and you're one of the few perfumes that my husband and I agree on. You're appropriate for all occasions and all seasons. Your blend is masterful (thank you Mr. Cresp!). Heady freesia, softened and warmed by suede and piqued by pepper. So delightful! I keep thinking that one day I'll grow bored of you, but I never do! xox

This fragrance is one of only a few that coworkers have complimented me on. I wore it ages ago and I've decided to go back and try those good old frags that got people's attention. This is clean, light but I think it has great staying power, it must have because the compliment came after lunch and I do not reapply at work. It's soft, leathery and gorgeous! I'm so sick of the gormands today with the sickly sweet teen feel. Hello!!!! Enough already! Armani si is a great sweet frag for the over 60 crowd, love that. But I'm going to continue on my trip down fragrance memory lane to see if the old faves still garner any comments.

10/10 for me. I would never have walked into a shop and looked at this for 1 second. But I had Coastal pour femme from Maison Alhambra which I had for 5 months and was convinced I disliked it. One day I tried the dupe once more and I was in love. But the performance was not good. I just had to get this original. It fresh, slightly warm spicy, slightly floral, lightly fruity. It's just unlike other perfumes out there. It's an easy reach but at the same time there's something different about it. Maison Alhambra captured the smell so well but there's a bit more going on with this one. It's such a hidden gem.

This is a terrific and affordable perfume for anyone who prefers softer, gentler scents. What stands out to me most is the hint of incense that carries throughout this perfume; it adds just enough depth to keep it interesting but never invades one's space. I'm not sure if I'll repurchase this one, but I use it several times a week, and it's also a nice bedtime scent. I find it has surprisingly good staying power for a gentle perfume. I used about 3-4 sprays this morning under my sweater and I was catching whiffs of it throughout the day, even after I got home from work--all-in-all about a 10-hour day.

This is very feminine, not too sweet, not too floral, very rounded fragrance. It can be worn all year round, for any occasion. It's really safe, there's nothing crazy about it. Unexpectedly, there's nothing sporty about it, either (being a Lacoste). I'd call it mature, although a girl would pull that off very nicely. You can wear this when you don't know what to wear. Good for travel and vacation - one of the sturdiest bottles ever, inexpensive, appropriate for any occasion, any time of day or evening. And if you lose it, oh well, it's 20 bucks on Fragrancenet.

This, along with Guerlain's Champs-Elysees will forever be the scent of my mother. Champs was her signature when I was very little, and then, a few good years after, this came along and it became her favorite and her signature ever since. I got Champs-Elysees and occasionally wear it on special occasions, I love it and think it fits me, but I would have never gotten this one for myself. I bought it recently just for the sake of always having her smell close to me, even when we're apart. I will never be without it for sure.

The PERFECT light scent. It would be ideal to wear to work or as a signature scent. Its clean, cozy and so versatile. I do wish this were stronger. I have to spray at least 10 sprays, but I will be able to smell it on myself for most of the day. This is very non-offensive and perfect if you have migraines and are sensitive to perfumes. My co-worker has chronic migraines and ended up buying this because she smelled it on me and said that it didn't trigger her migraines. She is so happy to have a perfume that she can wear!

To me, it smells like what a boss would smell like. It screams workplace all over it. But I don't picture a mean- designer chic- boss. Instead I see a young boss wearing this scent, discreet with her heritage although she's living a fabulous life and who knows maybe she's the Granddaughter of somebody. (I watch too much Korean Drama here) It smells so professional, sophisticated, very lady-like, luxurious, and something a very nice, kind, and humble but very successful rich young woman would wear.

I really think the longevity depends on your nose with this one. I misted myself with 4 spritzes before 6 am, and I am still catching pleasant whiffs 10 hours later. The scent definitely stays with me all day! So glad I repurchased it. Lacoste Pour Femme was my first "grown up" perfume gifted by loving parents on my 18th birthday. To me, it will always be the smell of fun careless days, purity, cleanliness, new horizons, young hopes and endless dreams.

It's my signature of all times. I have had this for almost 10 years and still loving it. It's not something that would turn head, but it blend really well with my skin. The mature feminine and the kick of pepper work well with each other, and somehow match really good with my personality. This is my first perfume and I canno describe how much I love it. My lover also likes this one a lot. He said it smells like a women that want to be close with. LOL.

well, i had this four years ago and swapped it away. all this time i was looking for my perfect floral woody musk scent, only to come back to this beauty! soft, comforting, musky, suede, feminine, low sillage, non-descriptive, a bit sweet, sensual, warm-skinscent. my perfect beauty. i do really love it now. i was wearing it non sop for several days after i got it, i just wish it lasted longer, i dont smell it so good on myself after a few hours.

I joined fragrantica and was so surprised to find one of the most intensive notes in this is pepper. I had the original years ago and could barely detect pepper, just a clean floral powder. I repurchased recently because I was feeling nostalgic and the pepper is so strong on my skin, it actually makes me feel unwell. Luckily, it fades away and it transforms into the scent I remember; however, it's so much lighter than it used to be.

I blind bought a small bottle after years of this being on my want list and I absolutely loathe myself for not having gotten a bigger bottle. What can I say that others haven't already? Not much. I think everyone who wears this must be kind and good in their hearts - and I'd be apt to mistrust those who don't like it. Its just...so lovely. Nurturing, quietly classy, comfortable, and utterly easy-to-love.

This was my mother’s fragrance when I was a teenager and because of it I started to recognize there is a thing called perfumes 😁 I still absolutely love it 15ish years later, especially when she wears it. I asked my wife not to buy this fragrance because in my head it’s mom's scent. 😄 Very pleasing, very comforting and clean. I’m not a fragrance expert but in my head this is a masterpiece.

It's hard to describe this beauty with words. It's just delightful! It's like the scent of warm, clean skin. Very well-balanced, it is hard to make out individual notes. What it is: effortlessly elegant cozy slightly sexy What it isn't: loud easy to detect shrill This is great as a "no perfume" perfume, to me. This is what I imagine Molecule 1 or JHAG "Not a perfume" should smell like.

Lacoste Pour Femme is my all time favorite perfume. I've tried a lot of perfumes but this one has been my favorite up to now. You can never go wrong with this scent. People always love to smell me whenever I uses this one. Its not annoying like other scent. And last a long time too. It's like you leave a scent when you're walking and its windy. So fresh and i just really love it.

Such a beautiful fragrance, it starts off with a sharp bang on my arm with strong pepper tones at first before it starts to mellow and melt into my skin like a warm hug. There’s something comforting I find about this perfume and it’s sad that it’s been discontinued as I have good memories wearing it and its body lotion. A classic in my view. Beautiful, sensual, comforting...

This scent always transported me to airports and traveling. I dont know why, but even before it actually accompanied me traveling to Asia, it reminded me of airports (pre Covid insanity) and well planned traveling in Asia. Or maybe I imagine this, and the memory came after. Amazing layered but non offensive scent. Beautiful composition. High quality and can be found cheap.

Alright, so I picked up this perfume because it was reasonably priced, but it totally exceeded my expectations. It's wonderfully subtle, yet its sillage is impressive. I adore how versatile it is; perfect for any occasion, whether it's a day at the office or a night out on the town. Plus, what really impressed me is how it lingers, especially when spritzed on clothing.

This fragrance is the most versatile of those that I know. It is both creamy and fresh. It doesn't draw attention to itself, but I can't call Lacoste faceless. It will not be the main decoration of its owner, but it will complement the woman who put it on. It is feminine and calm, but sexy because of its tenderness. But it's not vulgar. This sexuality is elusive.

Wore this almost 2 decades ago. Finally purchased a bottle I found on ebay. It totally went bad and smells only of pure cardamom and nothing like the fragrance I used, loved and traveled with :( For those wanting to find bottles of this discontinued masterpiece that still exists, be aware this parfum might not age well. Or maybe I just got one that went bad.

Blind bought this after seeing positive reviews on Youtube. Ended up choosing this as my wedding day scent! Beautiful, sexy (from the woody notes, made me feel more grown up), not overpowering and lasted all night. Holds a special place in my heart. It's so different from the other gourmand/fruity smells I usually prefer. I really enjoy this frag :)

This scent is so pretty! It's just such shame it doesn't last very long. Pour Femme is very fresh, kinda sweet and totally charming. Definitely easy to wear, not offensive, overall safe buy. I paid $20 for it so not too bad, I am just so sad that it disappears in 20 minutes on me. It 's a great scent to keep in a purse or gym bag to freshen up.

DMy fav at the moment. So comforting but sensual at the same time. I'm late to the party because it's not what i would expect from a sports brand. To me it smells like perfect skin soft, creamy and a little warm. It really is SOFT floral which is a really clear line for me since I love SOFT floral but don't like floral haha.

This is a very easy to wear clean mild beautiful fragrance. You need not think twice about wearing this to any place. Can be a very non offensive work wear as well. Projection is mild and lasts well over 5-6 hours. Neatly done. Already purchased a back up bottle just in case they discontinue this fragrance. Love it!

This is my favourite clean second skin scent. When im not in a mood for smelling 'perfumey', i reach out for this one. It is very light on me and close to the skin. I can hardly smell it as i go about with my day. But it lingers on the clothes gently. Reminds me of a freshly washed baby (not in a baby powder way).

I wear it quite often lately. It slowly becomes one of my favourites. It has no phase where I can say it bothers. I find it easy to like, very feminine and the special dry down with flowery perfumed fine leather is unique. Very well made fragrance! And it lasts around 7-8 hours with good silage the whole time!

I've never acknowledged sport brands perfumes but this one... Oh my God!! It is addictive and amazing!! Luxurious beautiful gentle unique but actually powerful refreshing powdery scent. I am on my journey to find fragrances from the past because nowadays scents are chaotic and doesn't last. This is a gem!

I love this perfume. It’s crazy cozy.. like I’m tired took a shower put on my cozy sweater and make a cup of hot tea, and then... you spray this .. AMAZING but I can also see it as a morning spring and summer morning on my way to the street market to get flowers and coffee. I mean... need this in my life.

I love many of Olivier Cresp's creations and this one is no exception. On ny search to find a fragrance that I love as much as Max Mara Kashmina Touch (also Cresp), I came upon this. There are similatities and while its not Kashmina, I do enjoy this. Beautiful skin scent. Comforting, cozy and warm. Love.

This is soft as a dream, powdery with elegant, feathery florals - I would imagine that hugging one of the Golden Girls in the 80s show would smell exactly like this. <3 However, I think this is a wonderful scent for any age group - it is more defined by the softness and elegance than demographics.

I think Lacoste Pour Femme is the flagship of Lacoste's perfumes. I have been wearing it for 20+ years and I still have a half full old formulation bottle that I only use to treat myself on special days. It screams class and confidence. The woodiness here is one of a kind. Dry down is heavenly.

classic, such a clean girl aesthetic, I love it so much, it's powdery and musky, but not too much, and it's an everyday kind of a scent. Not for night out, but if it becomes a signature scent, it can be even for the fancy night out. It's natural and makes it all different with it regularity

This perfume what made me fell in love with fragrance world! It's not sporty, it's sexy, powdery, a bit mature sweet, elegant, and cozy! Yes, all in one!! Very underrated fragrance that deserves much much love! Heaven in a bottle.... Oh, and I finished about 5 bottles since I discovered it❤
