Match Point Cologne Eau de Toilette

This is an outstanding summer / active freshie. The opening is fantastic; super fresh, sporty, nicely balanced with just enough sweetness, and a cool uniqueness to it with the rhubarb. Really nice. The dry-down remains consistent, with no weirdness or cloying elements happening at any point. Performance is quite good too; this is not a weak, vanishing EDT. People commenting on poor performance surprise me, because I find this to be above average for a freshie. This lasts longer on me than YSL Myself, and has a better drydown. In sum, I really like it; a beautiful and unique fresh scent. For me it’s on par with something like Eau Givree... or even the bright freshness of YSL Myself... but a whole lot cheaper.

Great opening with fresh, fizzy, zesty citruses and an interesting rhubarb note. The dry down is a bit of a letdown with some juvenile sweetness and fruitiness. Some sage and lavender saves it from being unbalanced. After about one hour the high notes are almost gone and a really lovely warm (but not sweet) scent of amber and cashmeran takes its place. Overall a great and uplifting EDT with unexpected complexness and quite well defined notes. Performance and longevity is so-so.

hidden gem.this is not a shower gel or soap scent. it's a shampoo scent. not a after shave, modern scent. fruity notes in the background with a modern woody base. i feel the lacoste dns. masculine yet not old man. I paid $15 for it, it was a gift. it is included in top 3 cheap perfumes.

I have this fragrance since the beginning of august. Since then I have been wearing it a few times. So now I can give my thoughts on matchpoint cologne. First of , it is a fresh woody fragrance like there a a lot of them in this category. It is a style I really like and this flanker does not disappoint. The citrus is a bit different in here which is well appreciated. The notes say rhubarb altough I don't really smell that but it's definitly not you standard citrus. The lavender and ambroxan are pretty light. I do get the vetiver and clary sage which gives it a green and refreshing quality. So this is not a love but a like because it is something a bit different. The performance is nothing to write home about but it's ok.

Love the smell, where I can pick up strong rhuharb with citrus opening, which then transforms into some not too sweet drydown, although the longetivity is dramatical - is this a matter of season of the year? Would it be any longer during spring and summer? Even when I go for some sports, spray this on my wrists and shirt, after one hour I don't smell a thing off my wrists and on shirt it lasts maybe additional hour. I got it in a huge discount (about 20€ I guess), but I feel like it's even quite expensive given the parameters. I would def not buy it for a full price.

I tried this today alongside the Matchpoint EDP. I prefer this one, it's surprisingly nice, the opening is very fresh & I get that impression of orange rind. The start reminded me of something I can't quite pin down, maybe a recent CK One summer flanker but not like the one I own (2008), it no doubt has some of the original Matchpoint in there too though. Later I get slight hints of L'Homme Lacoste, which is probably the effect of the rhubarb & orange but this fragrance is it's own thing and is fresher than that one and not as sweet to me.

Nice italian style cologne, where the more tart citrus are replaced by sweeter ones and the floral aspects traded for an earthy, grassy, yet still clean and fresh profile. The composition is well balanced, smell natural and it's impossible to dislike. The performance is weak, this is deliberately created without fillers, just for intimate personal enjoyment. Paid 16€/100ml in Amazina and for that price it's a steal.

Between this and the greener juice of the edt, that one is going to be more office friendly, if that's a concern, due to this one's almost startling burst of near-bitter citrus and rhubarb which - be warned - many will relate to some kind of citronella bug repellent. Then again, neither one lasts terribly long so it may not even be an issue.

Out of the three in this series so far, I like this the best. Its more citrusy in the opening and fresh. The mid and drydown you get a mild green woody feel. This will be great in the warmer weather or whenever you don't want anything too heavy. 😁

The opening is all rhubarb and citruses. Its different. It's kind of bitter but in a good way. The mid is all about lavender and gentiana (still not sure how that smells alone). Dries down woody and fresh. Lasts 5-6 hours on me. I'm happy.

it’s very solid that being said it’s basic but more mature i’d say however it smells really good in the dry down the rhubarb opening is kinda weird tho

semi-sweet, semi-oldschool, very fresh, confident, all in one very good, almost outstanding release - does not copy any annoying trend. 8/10

I like this. Fresh and fruity scent. Almost could be unisex. Great for spring and fall. Very uplifting scent.

10€ for 50ml it's a steal!! Fresh lemony ... Guerlain Homme L'Eau Boisée is not better...

It's okay. Citrus vetiver with the lacoste touch. There is an off putting chlorine pool smell or the 80s aquanet aerosol hairspray. Probably from the orange peel, florals, vetiver, and cashmeran combined. This is a first impression. I'm hoping that hairspray smell mellows. It's similar to Vers Le Sud by Jaques Fath, a little more rugged and manly. I imagine it's a mix of that and 12 12 blanc. The hairspray smell never left Vers Le Sud. It does have an eau de cologne feel. Light sweet musky dry down a touch of powder. It's okay performance for this profile. 6/10. Meh. It's usable but I wouldn't search it out.

The scent is pretty nice. I only use it when I go to the gym. I bought a 50 ml bottle. Overall it’s an average perfume—not bad—but I don’t think I would buy it again because the longevity and projection are very low. After about an hour, the scent is basically gone. That’s why it’s actually suitable for the gym. Lacoste L.12.12 Blanc (Lacoste White) is much better. I also have it, and once this one is finished I’ll continue using that. Longevity: 2/10 Scent quality: 7/10 Price: 8/10

This smells much better out of atomizer or test strip, on the skin the opening is quite nice, smells like bright pleasant evergreens with hints of some fruits and fizz, but this does not last very long, it dries down to the same familiar boring dirty raw woody vetiver that overtakes the whole scent profile. Is this sporty in any way? Not really. If you dislike or are bored of strong vetiver extract I would suggest to skip this entirely.

This is a very strange one. I would say you get what you pay for- the scent of your shower gell will stay longer. There is something unpleasant in the air after sparing this cologne like a cheap hair spray scent. Makes me cough. Sadly. Good price, I wanted to like it.

Very high quality perfume. Cashmeran is hard to use well but here it's employed very cleverly - playing against the green tones to bolster up the base & create a tennis lawn sort of effect. The top/fruity notes are absolutely spectacular - sharp, fruity, watery, aromatic. This is a very natural feeling blast of freshness with a melange of fruity notes mingling together for a sweet but refreshing, slight minerally opening. Rhubarb is both noticable & blends in perfectly while playing against the green & floral aspects. Overall a juicy, uplifting fragrance with a unique scent profile - sweet & fruity against the green backdrop. Like the EDP it is composed by Jean-Christophe Hérault and to my nose is one of his best designer releases. A quick look through his resume should tell you that this is very good indeed!

Smells lovely 👍 Fresh woody orange with florals. The rhubarb is nicely incorporated. Very well blended in general, smooth. Smells very natural. Feels appropriate for most occasions, both formal and informal. Summer and spring. Only downside is the performance. For that reason I bought the 50ml to carry with me in my bag and re-apply throughout the day, but it feels like im gonna blast the bottle in a matter of a month haha, smells amazing though, so its hard to complain and since its cheap, id heavily recommend it! nice glass bottle too.

Just like that person you meet at a party you think might be boring but ends up being utterly interesting! Aromatic but not barbershop-y, it does have an understated bitterness I really enjoy. Let it sit for an hour on your skin, it develops and improves with time. Find it fizzier and more optimistic than the EDT which I also enjoy, maybe it's that Gentiana note what makes it so special?

For those who have smelt this (I haven’t), how close it it overall to L’Homme Lacoste? I notice both have top notes of rhubarb and orange and I grew tired of L’Homme Lacoste very quickly
