Match Point Eau De Parfum

Where to start. I wanted to get my hands on match point for quite some time. I heard very few positives about the EDT but then I have noticed that EDP has been released Alright! Few days later a good deal on one of the discounters websites, a 50ml bottle for less than £30. Presentation is very decent. Not like top top designer but still very decent. Fragrance wise, That's really nice! Crowd pleasing innofensive smells a bit sweet, you can easily smell pepper notes and citruses and also a prominent herbal note in the background. I would say it is more blue than green, I am assuming it is a green bottle just to resemble tennis court. When my GF came home first thing she said was : What's this beautiful smell?! It's a New Lacoste dear :) Performance wise it could be better. I'd say 5hours with 6-8 sprays. I am a bit dissapointed since it is an EDP concentration but maybe it will macerate with time. Overall I am very pleased with this one. I don't think however that it is anything groundbreaking. 7.5/10

Never expected anything from a Lacoste fragrance but this one really surprised me. If you’re looking for fresh, clean and honest patchouli and vetiver combination with an earthy, moldy scent for a reasonable price - you should definitely give it a try.

Great fragrance! I don ́t really remember what it smells like because it ran out a long time ago. But i remember loving it.

Duration and projection are unfortunately only sufficient, but for a universal perfume like this it is really the only possible criticism. Good idea for a gift to a friend, it is also worth having in your collection if you can find it at a price not exceeding sixty euros. Promoted, but could have worked harder... A nice fragrance, however not one that blows me away. It's a very clean and inoffensive scent that comes across as soapy and powdery to me. Due to the note breakdown I expected to like this a lot more than I actually do. That being said it still smells pleasant, just a little boring. It's clean and soapy but doesn't really stand out. It is extremely versatile as it just smells clean and like you've just got out the shower after washing with an expensive soap bar. Unfortunately the performance is a little lacklustre as well as I usually get around 5hrs of longevity and it becomes a skin scent very quickly. As a dumb reach scent it certainly has its uses, however its not one that I'll be reaching for when I want to stand out or give me a pick me up. If you work in an office environment it would be great to wear for that situation although I feel there are better alternatives that last longer and smell better.

Patchouli is one of my all time favourite notes, and I love the combining notes that surrounds the patchouli, as a solid base note throughout its longevity (about 8-10 hrs on my skin). a big step up from the edt, this feels like the mature big brother, just like many other flankers that goes from edt to edp. this could easily have been renamed to EDPatchouli or Match Patchouli :)

It smells very similair to Versace Dylan Blue to me except its sillage and longevity is much weaker. Still good though.

This is just ok. I don't find it bad, it's just nothing that's worth picking it up. I mean at discounters here it costs arround 50 euros for 100ml, and it's so over priced. For 15 bucks you get fragrances that are more unique and better built. So in the end it's not bad, but I don't see a reason to buy it.

The fragrance itself is pleasant, clean, citrusy, and inoffensive. The main issue with it is the poor longevity. It doesn't last more than 3 hours on my skin, even though it's an Eau de Parfum concentration.

I love the smell but the performance is abysmal. 1.5 hours and its gone. This is worse than some of the eau de cologne fragrances I have. Smells similar to the edt in the opening but then dries down more woody and blue fragrance like than green. Glad I only got the small bottle. The edt is a much better performer. If you insist on wearing this you're going to need a lot of sprays and probably a refresh during the day. Spring, Summer and Fall this will shine in, for 1.5 hours. Don't waste your money on the eau de parfum and just get the EDT. Better performance and similar smell.

First spray emediatly gave me a ptsd flashback to when my dad broke dropped his Axe cologne in the house.. it's not a smell im fond of on either boys or men. Because it reminds me of my dad its not a hate for me but ive never liked these "cool/cold/herbal" perfumes for men. They all sting the same in my nose. Anywho, regarding notes its extremly limey with a hint of black pepper. The patchouli definetly shines the strongest in here, and the cardemom is basically non existent.

To this day I don't quite understand why a lot of guys lean towards soapy fragrances. Of course its a personal preference and I'm not hating on that preference. All fragrance reviews will be quite subjective but the last thing I want is to go to the office, a club or dinner party smelling of Imperial Leather, Lux or Dove! If you like that sensation then please do opt for this fragrance it's for you!

This weirdly smells of pickles, it might be because of the pepper mixed with citruses and then the patchouli. However it does become slightly better on drydown

Pleasant fragrance but strength is like a WEAK aftershave or cologne. One of the worst performers I have ever bought, I get ONE HOUR. BIG shame.

This is so weak - it's a fortnight.

A fairly standard fragrance that is pleasant, versatile and safe. It has a typical masculine aromatic, soapy and fresh scent. A very clean almost shower gel smell, not something to write home about, neighter something to be offended by. An all day, every day, dumb reach fragrance. You would smell well put together and clean with this one, but not particularly intriguing. Every time i give Match Point a spritz from the sample, the impression i always get is THIS is how a man should smell like. Nothing fancy, nothing particularly special but fresh and clean and that might just be its biggest appeal. A modern fragrance, not mature yet not juvenile. A scent for reliable, professional, go-getter men, not for the metrosexual and attention seeking modern audience. I get the same vibe from Dior Sauvage, and as much as i like the Dior, i'd dare say Match Point is smoother, less sharp and even tho Sauvage is also mass appealing, this is even more so. Gucci Guilty EDT is also a similar type fragrance. If you can find it for the price of 40 to 45$ for the 100ml, its worth picking up as an everyday scent. I believe it lacks the performance or originality to justify paying more for it.

The EDT is more Green, this is more Blue. Very fresh off the top, with some of the Green aspects of the EDT which differentiate it just slightly from the large Blue crowd. Dries down with some Amberwood compounds to give that clean, versatile sweet edge that underpins the Blue genre. Not worth it at full retail for anyone due to the large number of Blue options out there. Would be good for someone with a collection who would enjoy a dumb-reach Blue fragrance with a Green twist off the top, or as a gift for someone that has 0-3 bottles.

An after-the-gym scent with rolled up French cuff manners, and an odd but soothing undercurrent of stomach antacid tablets. Opens with sweet limes and and warm spice, then settles to a hand span off the body with a nice mess of gentian--herbal, bitter, sweet--almost medicinal and a little mysterious--bolstered by a faint green brush of patchouli and earthy vetiver. Very sniffy on the skin for a comforting 4-5 hours. Wear on Taco Tuesday.

I came to this with very low expectations, thinking it would be just another sporty nondescript scent. And it kind of is? But it's smooth, smells well blended and doesn't have any of that harshness that cheap sporty scents tend to have. I'm not going to say you should buy it, but if you are in search of a frangrance in this specific sporty genre for some reason, this is one of the better choices.

For most people this would be very generic and inoffensive designer fragrance. I on the other hand am almost offended by it. I don’t mind the unoriginality (it’s a Bleu de Chanel clone to my nose) I just don’t like this kind of synthetic cloying slightly sweet Patchouli either. It’s a pass 👋🏽

Is it just me or does this smell exactly like cooked beets, it’s got that kind of vegetation/dirt smell underneath

The fragrance is very pleasing. But the durability is very poor. 2/10

Wow, beautiful stuff. Definitely gonna pick up a bottle.
