Canyon Rose

This is a very pleasant fragrance that is made with only botanical-based ingredients (no synthetics). The ingredients list mentions oils of rose, rose geranium, patchouli, green apple and vanilla planifora, and I feel like I can smell all of those in the fragrance. I especially like the apple, that is a little unusual mixed with the florals.There also is a chemical (apparently derived from botanicals) called gamma decalactone listed that is supposed to smell like peaches, but I do not smell any peach at all. This is a very light fragrance that sits very close to the body,and it hard for me to imagine anyone objecting to it. It doesn't seem to me to have much of a foundation though, and so does not have the complexity of some of the other natural fragrances that I have tried recently. It lasts for a couple of hours but never has much of a scent that whole time. Maybe I could get more scent if I bought a full bottle and used it generously, but I still don't think it ever would be very strong.

Initially, I thought this smelled strange, but after I kept smelling it, I started to appreciate the scent. It's a natural yet modern rose with an almost strawberry-like quality. This doesn't smell like alcohol since it's made with sugar cane alcohol so I've noticed that the consistency is more oily than usual. It has a very intimate sillage, no one will be able to smell this from you unless they are hugging you. Still, I find this to be incredibly unique and addicting, almost edible.

The opening of this is SO GOOD it made my eyes roll back into my head. It’s a very fruity rose for about an hour, then turns into a patchouli rose with pretty good longevity. I was surprised to see green apple and peach in the notes, I don’t pick out either of those specifically but I do get an overall red, zesty fruitiness at the beginning. This is a jammy kind of rose, not really the fresh/soapy kind but not the stale kind either, if that makes any sense. The fruitiness does get swapped out for patchouli after a while, and as someone who dislikes patchouli but is okay with it sometimes, I really don’t mind this. I’ve even considered getting a full bottle, but I have enough other fruity rose fragrances that I don’t need this. But don’t write this off if you dislike patchouli unless you can’t stand it every single time without fail.

Sugar-dusted, rose-flavored turkish delights––I get a very jammy rose with this one! I can smell hints of the apple and peach, too, a fruitiness that's a little citrus-y, like the rose gummy candy has been in a tin with other flavors. The fruity sweetness rounds out after a little while and while I never get "spicy" there is a richer, slightly darker almost red wine scent that starts to come through. The fragrance sits pretty close to the skin and doesn't last more than a few hours overall, but I really enjoy it while it's there

Fruity rose but makes it ethereal. Light, quiet, and mysterious. It sits close to the skin. 11 11 and Canyon Rose are definitely my top Lake & Skye creations.

Rose, patchouli and cinnamon. Those are the dominant notes in that order. I am not a patchouli fan so it’s not a fave of mine. But if you like floral-patchouli you would probably love this. Rose is definitely dominant at first but then the patchouli comes out. Cinnamon comes out for a bit towards the middle of the wear which was a nice surprise. Definitely a fall/ winter rose imo.

I did a blind buy for this and I'm kind of disappointed. I don't think it's objectively bad but I just expected more aromatic, spicines. The opening smells like green jolly ranchers and artificial peach air freshener which is strange considering this is only made from "botanical ingredients". It dries down to this powdery peach smell on me and it just makes me lightly nauseous.

Spicy rose and patchouli! I don't love this fragrance, but it's definitely interesting. At first it smelled very soapy, but after the last hour it really has developed into a spicy rose. It's nice, but I don't want to buy it. I'll use my sample up though for sure.

This is verrry patchouli. If you like patchouli, you'll like it. If you don't, you won't. It's really just about that simple.

I’m not much of a nose but figured I would leave a comment since there are no others, and I was really pleasantly surprised by the scents in this discovery kit. Opening is a BEAUTIFUL rose, not cloying, not matronly, very modern. Then there’s a LOT of green Jolly Rancher smell! I don’t think green Jolly Ranchers smell like green apples so I don’t know WHAT that smell is but the scent memory is strong. It dries down to something reminiscent of a holiday soap. Everything is very blended. The patchoulli and vanilla never shine through on their own, and I suspect are there for balance and a bit of creaminess; there’s no sharp edges to this scent. I would say the green apple and geranium pack the strongest punch after the opening. A very sweet, but interesting scent. Definitely the most traditionally feminine of the discovery kit scents - and maybe the most traditional SCENT of the first 4 fragrances from this brand. You could probably wear this with a hangover and it wouldn’t make you sick - it’s very polite and clean. This one wears pretty fast, though compared to the others in the discovery kit - 4 hours, maybe? And while scents tend to linger for me, I think there just aren’t any heavy molecules in this perfume.

This is an interesting one! Very rose heavy but that green apple is very prominent to me. There's a nice spiciness as well. I'm not a fan of florals, but this is one of the few florals that I actually quite like. It's a little powdery at first, but as it dries down, that powdery characteristic dissipates and gives way to a slight fruity/spiciness while still being very rose heavy. I personally think this is one of Lake & Skye's better scents. However, I will say, it does occasionally veer a little close to smelling like a crayon.
