Saffron Dusk

I really love this fragrance and I’m very surprised to see the reactions to it. I keep it in my bag as a purse spray. It’s a work friendly fragrance and it almost has a light honeyed leather scent to it. Great alone or as a base for a fruit/ floral. The rose isn’t your typical rose layer in a fragrance.

Usually not a fan of leather in fragrance (on myself at least), but Saffron Dusk really surprised me! It's one of the more feminine leather scents I've sampled/enjoyed, with a rosy softness that really comes through alongside the saffron. And the boldness of the opening fades into something gentler and more approachable––borderline skin scent––in just the first half hour. Brings to mind soft leather designer bags in muted tones or leather couches & dry flowers in dim hotel lobbies; very cool without being "edgy." I've already gone ahead and bought another sample size off the Lake & Skye website knowing this one is about to be discontinued

Like the last reviewer, I also enjoy this one more than I thought I would! Saffron is a tricky note for me (for instance, I do NOT like Matiere Premiere Crystal Saffron) but the rose here is stronger than the saffron if you ask me. It smells like the same type of rose that’s in Canyon Rose, jammy and a little fruity. Paired with the saffron which leans more leathery than latexy, this is a really nice scent! Perhaps a little similar to other leathery rose scents, but how sweet the rose is makes this really unique in my eyes.

Initial impression... Wow! I like this more than I expected to. A lot more. Not typically a big fan of rose, but I actually like this rose. It is not jammy or old lady smelling. It is vaguely sweet, and Soft. Romantic and feminine to my nose. Lasting impression...okay. More rosy now. Not so original anymore. I loved the opening, but the middle/drydown is not my speed. Too much rose. I wish there was a way to vote 3.5. That is what I would give this one, as the opening is so lovely.

This smells like a sweet fortified wine to me with a LOT of saffron. The rose in here is the same as the one in Canyon Rose and I did not like that one so maybe that is also why I don't particularly like it.

leather, pepper, metal. Smells like a fancy furniture store – like a candle restoration hardware would burn in a man cave. I keep smelling it, but don't want to smell like it.

I felt that I was on the verge of sneezing the entire time I wore it. It has to be the pepper. I also felt there was dust all around me when wearing and the top notes quickly gave me a big headache. I normally like the smell of leather, but this isn’t it. I ended up scrubbing it off. My least favorite out of their Discovery set box.

This perfume does not work well with my skin at all. It smelled like straight-up burnt metal and rubber for the first 5 minutes. After that nauseating layer faded I could somewhat sense the vision that this perfume had, but on me, it just smelled... dusty and old. I think the first impression ruined it for me.

I loveeee Saffron so I was really excited for this but it did not smell good. It almost smells dusty...

I find this to be truly revolting. It smells like you put spoiled meat in a pot with red wine and boiled it for hours so the smell permeated your entire house. Not much saffron to be found and the leather note is very unpleasant.

It smells like sweet flowers and metal but in a way that is truly upsetting. I threw it out because the idea of smelling it again was upsetting. I don’t know who this is for but I don’t think they’ll be people I align with.

Smells awful. Easily the worst of the Lake & Skye fragrances I've tried and I've tried most of them. Overall really unpleasant. Definitely not for me, but it appears I'm a bit of an outlier.

This is the perfect example of something that I think smells nice, but don't want to smell like it. This is less a smell that a cool PERSON would have and more of a smell that a cool PLACE would have, To me, this would make a great room spray. It's woody, warm, with dry florals and a salty quality to it, almost like an old cedar chest (but also like hamster cage bedding? In a good way, though).

I’m so surprised there isn’t more love for Saffron Dusk! This is such a cool kid fragrance. Very unisex rose saffron and leather. Smells like a chic store where I couldn’t afford anything but want everything. Or like an overpriced candle in a celebrity living room. Very luxuries and yet very wearable and ultra “cool”. Reminds me of Le Labo Santal vibes but without smelling like a pickle.

On its own, this scent tends to lean a little masculine for my taste. However, I like to mix it with another rose-heavy perfume. That makes it perfect! Heightens the rose from Saffron Dusk and makes it a little more feminine.

It’s ok , it’s sort of sweet , it smells ..... dry ? Idk like a grandma pulling out an old box with dried flowers and old photos. It does have a spice smell , very soft . I smell rose , I’ll try to use it at bedtime

I don't think I like saffron as a fragrance note.. The dry down was nicer but it smelled like a salon shampoo or something to me. It's a fine fragrance; I could take it or leave it.

I like it alone, but I love it layered with kayali vanilla 28.
