Elegant. This is a lovely scent that I wasn't expecting at all. I recently picked up a haul of lalique scents that I've been meaning to add to my collection. Lalique's one of my favourite designer houses, in my Top 5. Hommage opens with a sweet floral vibe that smells strongly of honey. I'm surprised not too many people mention the honey note, but it's very present, and likely due to the oud/violet and tonka mix. It's a honey floral that's loud, but also soft. You won't offend people with this scent, unless you overspray in the dead heat of summer. While it is sweet and syrupy, it's not overly sweet. The oud is there, but it's synthetic oud. Westerners won't notice it too much, but it may be a bit of a disappointment if you know what real oud smells like, or if you're familiar with middle eastern attars. However I actually prefer this light synthetic oud in this composition because it makes the scent much more versatile and not offensive. Surprisingly, this scent seems, despite its classiness and elegance, a very versatile fragrance that I can see being worn on warmer days both casually and in the office. It's unisex and it does seem to require a mature wearer, but I wouldn't call it dated. More sophisticated than dated, while still being accessible. I quite recommend this one based on its unique scent profile and versatility. The florals are just right, and the calming effect of the honey oud just makes you keep smelling your arm for a hit of that lovely warming elegance. I really love this, honestly. Olfactory Echoes of a Better Past (Christine Nagel & Mathilde Bijaoui, 2011) Bottle Design: Thierry de Baschmakoff Scentrack: Drago Diklic – Moja Draga A truly dedicated to men. Lalique’s man is gentle, but masculine. Quiet, well behaved and optimistic. A proper 21st century gentleman. This fragrance has a retro old school vibe paired with contemporary oud/Tonka tendencies. Duo Nagel – Bijaoui did a tremendous job – a perfectly tweaked masculine composition with multiple layers. Beautiful neoclassic violet rides together with its green leaf and some black pepper. The opening is masculine, somehow boozy, and green like a freshly cut grass, reminding of Dior’s Fahrenheit. The powdery floral notes of violet and saffron are prominent. The saffron note in my opinion gives that needed Oriental twist to otherwise complete Western composition, and successfully balance the oud note. This synthetic oud is dim, yet dark. It gives slightly skunky, dirty undertones. The Tonka bean from the base is responsible for that sweet contemporary touch, while cistus for resinous tone. I enjoy discovering these layers over and over again. Hommage is a special everyday scent. Unreal hybrid of modern and classic. Hommage a l'homme silently became sort of a signature scent for me. None could beat it in formal situations and I wear it to university and work. But more and more often I find myself wearing it when I want to end the day and spend some time alone. The spices and violet note is a bit harsh in the beginning, but it softens in less than an hour and becomes crisp and soft violet powder. Woods and musks add delicate sweetness to kind of energetic and sad violate note, and some of my friends called this sweetness reminiscent of the smell of old books and/or hot black tea. And indeed, I find this simple fragrance cozy and melancholic, energetic and calming at the same time. I was thinking that it is a bit boring and too grown up for me, but later I understood that it always reminded me of those flowery fruity white wines like chenin, or even sweet muscadel. And this hidden aspect somehow changed my mental image of this fragrance, it became more cheerful and even more paradoxical. Longevity is 4 hours on skin, it projects strongly for half an hour and becomes an intimate distance scent. Which is good, as the chemical beginning is a part of the experience that could put some people off. This is one of Lalique products that really adds to the brands reputation of offering us one of the best value/quality ratio, solid 8/10

Hommage a L ' Homme by Lalique is the equivalent of a well dressed gentleman stepping into the florist's shop and pinning violet leaf onto his jacket lapel. And guess what? It is wonderfully COMFORTING! Yes, this another knockout of a scent from Lalique and it owns up to that consistent Lalique quality. HLH is a very rich linear scent and doesn't really display a great separation of notes. I dare say this fragrance is a bit linear but the violet notes are so spring time sweet that it doesn't matter. HLH is comes off clean, slightly soapy, and very florally sweet. As for the other notes? I get a dusting (I am being very generous here) of oud. The labdanum, tonka and musk form a very rich base to this scent and accent the overall sweetness of the violet and violet leaf. HLH is fairly long lasting and projects decently. This scent is better suited for spring in my opinion and can be worn casually or in an office setting. HLH is a well blended fragrance and is very fun to wear, it feels airy and free yet comforting. HLH does a bit of everything and checks all the boxes for the wearer. HLH should be worn on a calm spring day when you feel like surprising that special someone, or dropping a surprise visit on a friend you haven't seen in a while. Trust me you'll smell as sweet as your intentions.

Oh wow. Hommage a l'Homme is a masterpiece. I don't like it when this word is bandied about with careless abandon here, but in this case it is the only word that sufficiently sums up this perfume. I do not care for overly sweet men's fragrances, but somehow Lalique lands a perfect 10 with how the sweetness is done here. Chiru (review below) mentions a honey note in the opening- 100% correct. Deep, sweet, "floralesque" nectar that is rich, never cloying even in the slightest way. Amazing accord, however they achieved it with the notes listed. There is a faint woodiness that sits in the background that supports the "l'Homme" title. Saffron, light musk, violet leaf all combine to enchanting effect. This is an elegant, gently masculine fragrance that is pure class. It is understated so its ideal for the office or anytime you want to exude an elegance that never boldly proclaims itself, an hommage to the perfect gentleman of any era. Perfect name for a perfect fragrance. I do not know how Lalique is able to consistently produce affordable, unique, high-quality gems one after another. This house is at the top of the game for the consistent quality and originality of their fragrances. Superb.

Right, so there I spray it on me, and I'm waiting... I want to cough, get my nose out of the reach because of the evaporating alcohol, and nothing. I get my nose close to my skin and inhale, and yes, I'm quite happy about it, but why is it so incredibly weak on sillage. Just beyond me. Yes, it has a resemblance to the much more expensive Acqua di Parma Oud, but what the difference. Don't get me wrong here, because I really think that Lalique got it right, but why oh why so weak. Enough of that. The violet and oud is there prominent, and creates a good blend. It has a warm quality over it, yet the bottle has an classic ice-cold appearance. The bottle is also quite heavy, but that's all the glass and thus appears larger. The scent is rather universal when it comes to age. As with every less fruity or aquatic undertones, it immediately appeals to distinction and little bit of class. It sharpens your senses. It's not a dull scent that make you feel like you are in a candy store. I consider this blend as a very much a day scent, suitable for an office and business. It does not project much its quality. Early evening is also alright, but not that good for a late evening and night adventures.

"À LA RECHERCHE DU TEMPS PERDU" This is more a quick opinion than a review. This is a magnificent fragrance, very well blended, and of excellent quality. It's similar to Fahrenheit (disgrace!!!!) ... but without the gasoline scent (great!!!!) ... Fahrenheit is a great (really excellent) perfume but the gasoline scent makes me nauseous. So, I just can't stand it while the gasoline accord lasts. So I propose you the following equation: Hommage a L'Homme = (Fahrenheit Absolute - Gasoline accord) = Lalique Masterpiece I can imagine a lot of Fahrenheit lovers who feel lost with the discontinued Absolute fragrance. Well, they can now discover this fantastic "Hommage à l'Homme". There is a trio of notes that just connect very well in this fragrance: The Violet, the Musk and the Oud. They kind of mix with each other for a great result. In my opinion, they are the guilty ones for the Fahrenheit Absolute resemblance. This fragrance really deserves to be checked for several days and I am still beginning to have some fun. I just pity the "so so" performance. Music: Jennifer Lopez - "I'm Glad"

I can see why this one gets mixed reviews - it's not for everyone. It's a floral-wood blend, but not sweet and bright like YSL Pour Homme - and where that one has a bright detergent-style musk, the sultry note in this comes rather from an almost dirty musk that I imagine is a result of the violet leaf and oud blending with it to make what I can only describe as a "bookish" musk, a mature aroma that is dusty yet intimate. Among men's scents it is certainly unique. It is an understated scent, quite safe for an office or school, and while projection and sillage are pretty light, typical of Lalique it has solid staying power. I catch wafts of it as I move for reliably 9-10 hours so the sillage is definitely there, at least on my skin. It also hits some very nostalgic chords for me. I don't even know what it reminds me of, but I imagine my mother must have occasionally worn a woody violet scent during my youth. For me this is an exceptional, mature scent, a niche-quality bargain - but like niche scents, there are many who won't like it - but those who like it will probably love it.

This is a gem. An absolute masterpiece. It's hard to understand how something this good can be so obscure and so inexpensive. I picked up a bottle for €15 at Primor, and I regret not buying two or three more as backups. It bears some resemblance to Dior's Fahrenheit, though not in the opening—rather, in the drydown. It's not the same, of course. If it were, it would be called Fahrenheit and made by Dior. Instead, it's called Hommage à l'Homme, and it's made by Lalique. But the resemblance is definitely there. In fact, something happened to me recently. I was at a perfume shop testing Fahrenheit on a blotter, curious to see whether the newer batches still smelled like the older ones. Once it reached the drydown, the scent felt strangely familiar. I kept thinking, *What does this remind me of?* Every few minutes I'd go back and smell it again, but I just couldn't place it. Then, on a whim, I smelled my own arm... and the mystery was solved. Of course it reminded me of someone—it reminded me of me. I was wearing Hommage à l'Homme!

I really dont get the comparisons to fahrenheit at all. I was worried that it was going to smell too similar to it but I just received mine in the mail and was pleasantly surprised. The violet is way different in the sense that it is sweeter and smells more floral. No ashyness as some people described either. Tobacco? Maybe. Honestly if i were to just get a whiff of it on the streets i would think it was just a really refined fragrance with fruity notes kind of like michael kors for men. Its in the same vein even though the notes arent the same. I also dont get the whole 35 and up vibe either as some people have said. Im not a fan of 70s and 80s powerhouses at all and I find this perfectly wearable. It might not be suitable for teens but college and up would pe perfectly fine. If you are turned off by fahrenheit and that gasoline note don't let it hold you back from getting this because this is way different.

This is really classy stuff here. Probably one of the gems of my budding collection. Hommage is complex, long lasting, and entirely beautiful. Spray lightly and you will rewarded with all the notes you see listed above, especially an oud note that smells a little close to vetiver (perhaps this is a transitional fragrance for Encre Noire people). Overspray and the violet stays prominently on your skin and your clothes all day (this EDT is tenacious on clothing only slightly less so on skin). • There are no odd smells or anything remotely suggestive of commercial or designer fragrances; this is entirely niche and upscale. • I would definitely wear this with my finest garments. Excellent for the office. • I get compliments when I wear Hommage. • The atomizer disperses fragrance really well... a rather large cloud. • The bottle is lovely. • I got wonderful customer service when I visited the Lalique boutique.

A sensual, masculine and comforting fragrance by Lalique, Hommage a l'Homme is an instant classic. A beautiful blending of both violet blossom and violet leaf open the fragrance invitingly. Violet flower with it's gentle powdery sweetness contrasts the earthy, oily violet leaf. Black pepper and saffron add a much needed piquant accord, embuing the fragrance with warmth and spice. A depth and smokiness is created by the inclusion of oud. It is used here to great effect in my opinion, balanced expertly and never overpowering. Tonka bean, with its coumarin facets, blends the fragrances smoothly as if a paintbrush blending colors against a canvas. A honey-like ambery note adds a final touch of warmth via the inclusion of labdanum resin. I absolutely love this fragrance for autumn as it has an inclination to suffuse its wearer and those lucky enough to be close by with ardor. (163)

This is a wonderful fragrance. I definitely get the Fahrenheit vibes, and while it shares some of the same DNA, this is a different scent. It is much more subdued, hangs closer to the skin, and is more refined without being stuffy or unapproachable. It also has a very easy "wearable" quality--it doesn't get cloying or distracting and dries down easy while smelling light, distinctive, and nice and lived in. I've had this one since 2014 and never really liked it, even though I received many compliments when I would wear it. Recently something just clicked and I absolutely love it. The violet, saffron, and our remind me of my travels in the Middle East, without being a parody of the culture. It smells worldly, intelligent, rugged, and completely approachable. Def grab a bottle if you can find it. Excellent price for the quality and a very unique scent.

A real beauty. It starts off resembling Cuir Pleine Fleur but little by little the resemblance dissipates, and Hommage slowly begins morphing into its own unique composition. The end result is an elegant blend of saffron, violet leaf, spices, and soft woods with fine smoke coming from the resins. I don't get any oud here -- but what I do get is labdanum and violets. Lots of it. While the tonka and musk have supporting roles and meld everything together beautifully. The late dry down becomes a completely different scent. Which is an elegant concatenation of labdanum, resins and a touch of peppery smoke. At this point it begins to share similarities with vintage Italian Cypress (believe it or not), but with a splash of violets. I deeply regret selling this one early on in my journey, but glad I was able to get reacquainted.

love this smell, It is very violet and ozonal, (the violet leaf and violet game is strong here) but its balanced out with musk, powder and aquatics to be more masc, though dont confuse that with butch, more poet/academic than blue collar. I think its unisex, but more dusty on a woman, if that makes sense. Strangely modern but also old fashioned, but "OLD old fashioned". Something like a Georgian Duke or a Bronte male hero might wear, rather than your granny. Comparing this to kerbside Violet by Lush, That is very floral and very violet flower forward much more femme, this is far more complex balanced and tempered with the other elements. This smells more refined and crafted. Not one I wear everyday, it needs the right time, but its very unique and very delicious. You wont blend into the sea of more ubiqutous scents.

People who say this fragrance has poor performance may be forgetting this is an EDT, and as such, it performs very well. I have EDPs which are out-done by it. To my nose and experience this is a unique, distinctive, and very individual fragrance. Certainly, from my small collection of 130+ scents, this one is unique amongst them. If you know Lalique L'Insoumis, that is the closest in style, but they are still easily recognised for their own aromas. They are both beautiful on the skin and in the air. So, quick summary; very good performance for an EDT, rich smelling, classy, elegant, distinctive, better, much better than expected for the price, swish presentation which looks and feels quality, with some heft, and very satisfying to wear. The shower gel is also a pleasure to use.

I feel like Hommage a L'homme eludes some noses, as if there is this expectation of ambroxan bombast and olfactory-bulb numbing turgidity. There is something to be said for nuance, and the whole raison d'etre of this particular composition is that it is a tribute, and thus requires a bit of propriety. Be that as it may, this is no shrinking violet—there is some weight to the violet due the support of saffron, pepper, and oud (open to interpretation), and while not listed as one of the notes, tobacco (could the aromachem tabanon been used here?). The effect might seem gossamer to the nose, but is on the contrary substantial, as wafts ebb and flow. I love scents that have this quality; not nagging and persistent, just recurrent with movement, rustling, or breeze. 9.5/10

I purchased Hommage and Hommage Voyageur blind figuring I was going to like at least one. They're both amazing. Hommage opens up with a lot of violet leaf. Some find the opening too aggressive, I enjoy it. The violet leaf is where people are reminded of Fahrenheit but there's not that much similarity. After the violet leaf dies down the violet floral note come out. It's a bit powdery and slightly sweet but stays masculine with the well-blended woody base. The woody base doesn't smell like oud to me. You may think by the note breakdown that this is a winter fragrance but it's light and fresh enough to work in most weather except hot summer days. As usual with Lalique, the bottle is very nice and 'bang for your buck' value is off the charts.

Lalique is such a good designer house, and this is such a good scent. It starts off with a floral, almost slightly sour burst that fades quickly into a beautiful, but masculine, floral opening. After an hour or so there is a super sneaky oud that is very subtle and a little hard to pick up, but it is there backing things up and holding the rest of the notes together. Hommage a L’Homme is a versatile scent that can be worn in pretty much all seasons, dressed up to casual. It smells like a niche fragrance that is masculine, but so different from the mainline masculines we are so used to. Maybe the best thing about Lalique is how inexpensive these amazing scents are. Blind bought this one and it jumped to the top of my favorite fragrances.

First of all, very high quality scent for the price. Easily smells double or triple the cost. To me, this fragrance smells unisex leaning masculine in the dry down. It calls to mind a refined man of culture and taste, who appreciates the finer things in life. It is elegant, laid back and not energetic. Opening: juicy violet leaves and green tobacco(?) with a touch of spice and floral. As it dries down, the violet leaves move to the background and powdery violet flowers, distant oud and soft musk come to the fore. A little stronger than a skin scent. You can confidently smell this stage very softly. For some reason, the powdery, musky dry down of this scent reminds me of another favorite, L'envol de Cartier. How delightfully unexpected!

8/10 Scent = 3/3 Performance = 2/3 Wearability = 2/3 Value = 1/1 I blindly bought this, because it is similar to Dior Fahrenheit and the price is very affordable. There are some similarities, but this is totally different fragrance - it even has a honey note that I can pick up but it is not overly sweet and does not kill the freshness, just a few hints. I love how masculine it is and at the same time it is totally wearable in summer - not like typical aqua/citrus fragrances. It is addictive. Some people are put off by violet notes, but it is one of my favorite. Good performance and great price - smells much more expensive than it actually is. Also, this fragrance goes well with suits.

In wrapping up, let me highlight once more that Hommage à l’Homme stands as a remarkably original fragrance. While violet has been a part of men's perfumery since the iconic Dior - Fahrenheit days, I'm not aware of any other scent that blends this flower with oud. For this ingenious concept, Christine Nagel and Mathilde Bijaoui truly deserve a standing ovation, especially given the undeniable quality of its execution. They've crafted a masculine, spicy-floral-woody aroma with exceptional elegance. Personally, I find Hommage à l’Homme incredibly alluring, and I'm baffled as to why I haven't acquired my own bottle yet. It's high time I rectify that. My rating: Highly recommended! (7/7)

Hommage à L'homme is a tribute to the dashing elegance of violet and its re-imagining as a bold male signature. Wonderful, classic and inventive, it is... The homage opens with a petrol nuance of sweet violet leaf, a tarty bergamot and a leathery saffron, that gives way to a pepper-pimento exchange and a violet floral pungency, only to be piquantly held in check by a warm decorative oud and a honeyed musk of cistus. The overall effect is a violetly cool talc of warm rich resins, pulsating with soft sultry and dark steely edges. This is a beautiful ode to masculine panache, and a fitting commemorative for the man whose grace is innate and beauty, seasoned and sophisticate.

Wow. Genuinely struck by this one! Lalique is amazing at delivering these classy, unique, sophisticated and beautiful scents. Finally found a 50ml bottle of this and i'm saving for special occasions. There isn't a single note that stands out in a screechy way, it's so well blended. The Saffron/Oud combo will remind you of Versace Oud Noir, but the other notes specially the Violet turns this into a completely different scent. Very masculine in a classy, gentleman way. I wouldn't call this a casual frag, i feel like you'd wear this to a high class dinner or another big event. Performance is also great, 9-10 hours on my skin. This one is going to my top shelf, for sure!

Walking around town after liberally spraying this right out of the shower I kept wondering "what smells so good?!". This is a very pleasing sent. To my nose very complex as you can just feel the way this evolves. It's subtle and for your personal space. Maybe it does not knock your socks off but sometimes you just need something different and for yourself. Would highly recommend a travel sprayer to reapply as it's almost gone after 3h. The bottle is a masterpiece!! Amazing work of (glass) art, you get a real pride of ownership with this flanker. Atomizer is amazing also. Price is usually at a super discount so as part of your "mood arsenal " it's a safe bet.

Dear Fragrantica Friends, I recently got this fragrance and I really like it. It's a smooth, beautiful, elegant violet-themed soft musky eau de toilette. Performance is not the best with 6 hours longevity with two hours of medium to soft projection. In any case, this is quite an inexpensive frag that can be had for next to nothing. You can respray a lot with no second thought. I think (I'm not sure) it's being discontinued which is a pity. This is VERY similar to Mercedes Benz Intense but with better performance and price. The bottle is absolutely stunning and this could easily be the signature scent of a well-groomed, soft-spoken, and civilized gentleman.

I got it a year ago and I was really disappointed as I didn't like the smell very much and the violet scent did not suit my taste at all for some reason however I didn't give up on it and gave it few tries but my opinion didn't change so I left it for a full year and I picked it again today to give it another try and oh man what a Pleasant surprise it is how is it possible that after a year my mind changed 360 degrees?! Amazing fragrance is it possible that maceration does this? I hear that fragrances need few months to macerate in order for their scent to develop but didn't believe it until now, I am in love with this perfume, its quality and elegant ❤

This is my second from this house & once again they've left me in awe... What a masterpiece this fragrance is. I'm stunned this isn't a niche fragrance because it sure outperforms & smells better than a lot of niche frags I own. I have over 200+ frags in my collection so trust me when I say, I know a gem when I smell one. I picked this up for the shockingly low price of $22 on clearance but I would've paid $100+. I can't say enough good things about it. Performance is incredible and I keep getting compliments from the ladies which is always a good thing. Kind of reminds me of ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!! DEFINITELY A ONE OF A KIND! GET YOUR NOSE ON THIS ONE

I bought a few bottles when it was cheaper and I really don't regret it. Hommage à l'Homme leaves a strong olfactory imprint with moderate projection and remarkable longevity. My experience has been totally enjoyable, I really liked this Lalique lotion. I could smell at first the notes of leaves of violet and bergamot that make her feel fresh but only the first few minutes since afterwards she feels a note like rubber or leather. It also has woody and spicy notes, this combination gives it a scent like tobacco and something mossy but dry, probably given by oud, saffron and musk. Hommage is a very masculine fragrance and with excellent longevity, may not have too much projection but is remarkable and will not go unnoticed. I see it for use in office and even for some night out, Totally timeless and without age limit

God I love this fragrance, it's understated, simple but not boring and classy. French perfumery at it's best. Violet lovers give this a serious try as it is a clean/flowery violet delight. I get what smells like a tea note in it, projection is mild, but longevity is good at around 6+ hours (much more on clothes). You wont fill a room with this, you wont make a statement with complexity, but you will cause curiosity in others. Introverted, unique, well made and one of my favorite from the house. It's extremely hard to get now, since it was discontinued a few years ago, but if you can get it under 100, I think it's definitely worth it.

My favorite Lalique. A nicely done violet/oud combo with just enough pepper near the opening to keep it from going full frontal floral. This will be cloying if oversprayed: sweetness overload. I found this has a wonderful dry oud scent in the middle notes - not resinous or syrupy but slightly bitter like delicate incense. Although prior comments mention Fahrenheit and Bvlgari Black, I didn't sense anything that instantly reminded me of either one. Longevity for me was very good. The scent would waft in and out during the day as it responded to my body heat. A very good scent at an excellent price.

Got it today for 15€ on a discounter lol. Instant crush. It reminds me of what Dior Homme parfum did with Iris, but with violet. I thought I hated violet until I smelled this. Never liked Farenheit, but here we are. Starts super spicy, but that goes into the background quickly, thankfully. Violet + Oud is *chef kiss*. Not animalic, a really approachable oud in the background. Formal, all seasons (maybe not something I'd wear in summer in closed spaces though). Definetly unisex. Goes like SAFFRON SPICES first minute, then the violet dominates with the oud and a bit of musk and spices.

I'm getting awesome performance on my skin still radiating strongly 3 hours later, I see the similarities to Fahrenheit but it doesn't have that gasoline note that Fahrenheit does this is richer more classy, I could see this being Tom Ford's Gucci Pour homme 3 if he did one before he left. The Oud in this isn't dirty either it almost resembles leather, I think this would be a good one for say a powerful executive businessman or the boys night out and you got to compete with everybody else's cologne. If someone gets close enough for a nuzzle they'll think you're very manly😂

Very Nice , classy, mature scent... similar to Fahrenheit , but whereas that one is Violet and Leather, this one by Lalique is Violet and Oud....a nice light oud, I thought it had leather, but that is the oud playing that part in the fragrance. I didn't think the performance was as bad as everyone else is commenting , if you are comparing it to niche, it is , but compared to today's designers , IMO, it isn't too shabby and the cost , it's not very expensive , 40-50 dollars depending on where you live. With the low price I'd give it a 8/10 ,a solid buy.

To me Hommage a L’Homme is a feeling of tranquility. I am set back to the home office of my Grandfather. The smell of pipe tobacco, smoke, leather, gun oil and blue Ga-Jol. When I got this, I had to buy a back up. Not that this is my favorite parfume in my collection, but the feeling it envokes (for me) is priceless. The scent IS great on its own - and I do enjoy wearing it - but for me, it is a feeling. An Hommage to the old man, sitting up there, somewhere, in the sky smoking his pipe. I realise this “review” will not bring much to the table.

Oh YES! This is the juice! Well mannered, intelligently crafted and mysterious juice! The violet done in an brilliant ashy way not so powdery, more smoky, oud adding just a touch of mystery to it while pepper, saffron and tonka bean rounding it up nicely, not screaming but definitely well present. 8-10 hours longevity is fine, satisfying sillage & projection. A definite singature scent perfect for spring, fall or winter and maybe summer nights as well. Timeless creature of fragrantic perfection! Christine Nagel never fails to impress me!

I think this is a very interesting and pretty well made fragrance. Its basically violets and steamy tea in the opening. Theres a non descript fuzziness (theyre claiming its an oud accord i guess lol?) In the base which keeps this passable as masculine. Its totally unisex though, if you ever wanted to make someone comfortable or give a calming aura, this is your scent. If i was trying to console grieving people, i would wear this to the ceremony. Just the vibes i get, not that its a funeral scent but that its calming and whatnot.

One word: Sophisticated ! Its like a smokey violet. I do get the comparison with Fahrenheit, but it is not the same. Maybe inspired by. This one is much more versatile and wearable. I see people mentioned tobacco leaf. Thats what I smelled too. It does remind me a little bit of Versace the Dreamer. I heard its discontinued, so you better buy a bottle real quick if you like those notes. The price is ridiculous. I paid around 20 euro 50ml bottle. It could easily be niche and more than 100 euro. Good performer and real quality.

I had to back up what my buddy 'Oldspice" said down below, I totally agree with his description of this cologne, I do enjoy the opening a lot but in the contrary it does not remind me any other cologne which I think is even better because talks about the uniqueness of the fragrance, by the other hand for the dry down and being an Oud fan as well, I do not sniff Oud at all, I am surprised it has many votes for the oud in the contents. anyhow I do love this one and I think is very versatile and can be worn in any season.

Just tried it and it's amazing. The opening reminds me of Oud Wood and Versace Oud Noir. I always wondered if there is violet leaf in Oud Wood. I sense tobacco in Hommage, but might be something else. Ok there's definitely tobacco in it and the dry-down reminds me of Tobacco Oud. The tobacco absolute(essential oil) used in here is really prominent. If you like violets and tobacco blind buy without hesitation. The bottle is solid, sexy and of high quality just like the scent. Lalique, if you are listening, please don't reformulate or discontinue this unique beauty. The way the bergamot bounces off the smokiness here is magic. If you like Earl Grey tea, just imagine mixing in a bit of Lapsang Souchong, and you have the essence of Hommage. The violet and oud add just enough darkness around the edges. Not for everyone, but definitely for me. I never took french in high school, but I'm going to guess that Hommage a L'Homme translates roughly to "Let's Hear It For The Boy"!

Many of my fragrance purchases are blind buys. I do my due diligence as far as looking for notes of the scent and reviews. This being one of those blind buys, I am extremely pleased with this scent. It is made with great quality. This is more of a muted oud scent so don't expect an oud bomb. As far as notes I do smell saffron and I get the muted oud. Not sure what wood notes are here. This a warmer weather oud. This can be worn day or night casual or formal IMO. For the price this is a hit. Enjoy!

It is a hidden gem and a MASTERPIECE by Lalique ! This perfume has high quality like a niche fragrance and a well-balanced between its notes, both the Violet Leaf and the Violet together, for a cool contemporary Violet effect ! It opens up with like blast of fresh Bergamot and Violet Leaf then dry down is sweet floral musky. It smells so good , Airy , Soft and Classy. Lalique Hommage a L'Homme is suitable for the spring and fall. I really enjoy it and I love it. Two Thumbs Up. Rating : 9 / 10

A blind buy based on the reviews and my admiration of the house of Lalique, at first I thought I'd made a mistake it just didn't interest me but the second time of wearing it I caught a whiff of what it should be. To my uneducated nose it's a slightly less "serious" Fahrenheit, its much more a spring cool summer fragrance. longevity and sillage are reasonable/very good as with all Lalique, one last thing is the bottle is beautiful as I'm starting to expect from Lalique. Go and grab a bottle.

Extremely unique to my nose. I get NO fahrenheit! Nothing of that. I get a smoky floral that if it reminds me of anything it’s the classy dry smell of L’Instant by Guerlain. But this goes floral instead. I don’t love nor hate this. I like it for it’s low profile high class scent that offends no one. I even got compliments. But so far I don’t like the smokiness that overpowers everything in the opening. Try if you are looking for something completely new.

was surprised by all the love this was receiving in the reviews, I saw a good deal on a bottle,so I blind bought it,.......WOW!!! love, love, love , this is great juice. Only my first impressions, but so glad I took a chance on this one, this could be a 10/10 frag,...let me live with it a bit first, wear it out a few times, but my initial take on on this, is that it is indeed a fabulous scent. I guess that's why we read the reviews,lol

Just a quick opinion: This is a magnificent fragrance, very well blended, excelent quality. It similar to Fahrenheit (disgrace!!!!).... without the gasoline scent (great!!!!).... Fahrenhite is a great (really excelent) perfume but the gasoline scent makes me nausea.So I just can't stand it while the gasoline accord lasts. So just imagine the equation: Hommage a L'Homme = (Fahrenhite - Gasoline accord) = Lalique Masterpiece

A very nice fragrance! Another Lalique win! Excellently blended violet leaf, pepper and oud. Result is an understated, classy, elegant, masculine concoction that will work in multiple environments. Note of caution however, as with a lot of Lalique fragrances, this is not for everyone and not recommended as a blind buy, or blind buy it knowing that it may not be love at first whiff,... but you'll come around....

Absolutely beautiful. Doesn't remind me of fahrenheit but I haven't smelled it in quite a few years. I get a dusty violet over a honey drizzled leather. Interesting and also very wearable. This isn't a gourmand, but if I smelled a pastry that had this fragrance I'd happily eat it. Carries an interesting atmospheric vibe that reminds me of the fall season 🍁. Outstanding. Scent 9.8/10 Performance 5/10
