L’Apertura: Un contrasto elettrico L'apertura è vibrante. Sebbene la piramide citi agrumi e incenso, sulla mia pelle esplode una punta di pepe decisa e predominante (probabilmente data dal pepe rosa in sinergia con l'olibano). È un inizio pungente e di carattere, che trasmette un’energia immediata, quasi "motociclistica". Il Cuore: La struttura fougère Dopo circa mezz'ora, la fragranza rivela la sua architettura. La lavanda e il cardamomo costruiscono una trama speziata calda e aromatica, ma è la resina di elemi a dare quella rotondità moderna. Rispetto a fragranze simili e più blasonate, qui troviamo un equilibrio magistrale: non "urla" mai, risultando molto più portabile e meno invadente, pur restando estremamente presente. Il Drydown: Vaniglia e Balsami Il fondo è la parte più raffinata. Una Vaniglia polverosa, sostenuta dal Balsamo del Tolù e dal Cedro Bianco. L'Ambroxan pulito garantisce una persistenza notevole, sulle 6 ore, lasciando una scia moderata ma costante, che trasmette una sensazione di estrema pulizia ed eleganza. Vibe e Immaginario Indossarlo mi riporta a un ricordo preciso della mia giovinezza a Milano: il mio professore di ginnastica. Un uomo dell'alta borghesia che arrivava a scuola in Ferrari, elegantissimo, per poi trasformarsi nel pomeriggio in un rigoroso architetto nel suo studio. Questo Lalique incarna esattamente questa dualità: l’anima scattante e sportiva dell’apertura che evolve nella classe intellettuale e strutturata del fondo. Valutazione Finale: 8.5/10 Un voto che riflette l'eccellenza di una fragranza capace di adattarsi a ogni contesto. I am pleasantly surprised at how close Lalique White in Black actually smells, compared to Layton by Parfums de Marly. Yes, it smells really good. For those of you who want Layton which is cheaper and fine with a little worse performance, this will be a great alternative. This is probably a payback from Lalique to Parfums de Marly, because Galloway smells a lot like Lalique White. Not a Layton replacement, but as someone who owns Layton and Layton Exclusif, it is really nice to have a fragrance that smells close enough to Layton (indistinguishable when smelled in the air), but without the worry of spraying too much because of the price. Layton has better performance (that includes projection and longevity), can be a bit harsher (to some), and has more prominent apple and cardamom notes (so, Layton is more fruity and spicy). From this point, let me talk about this fragrance as Lalique White in Black (not as a Layton clone). It has vanilla, cardamom, and lavender as the dominant notes. I can smell a bit of cedar in the background, as well as that slightly fresh and herbal spiciness from the pink pepper. Oh, and I can smell that apple (similar to Layton) but not as prominent here. It smells great. It is warm, inviting, sweet, spicy, a bit floral, aromatic, and slightly woody. It performs quite well on my skin. 7 to 8 hours with a good projection in the first hour or two. Great for the colder weather and I'd wear this day and night. It doesn't have anything to do with the original Lalique White as they are two totally different fragrances to my nose. A solid release to me, and I'm thrilled I paid that amount of money (~$37, converted) for a 125 mL bottle of this one. A very successful blind buy indeed.

I picked up White in Black back when it was first released. Then the price blew up. Well, now it's $45 on Joma and I got a backup. I had original Layton, and I found it overall a little too sweet for me, and gifted it to one of my grown sons. But, I did really like it, and the profile. The Middle East "clones" are atrocious compared to the original and to White in Black. This seems less strong compared to Layton, and so it projects less, but it has the elements of Layton. It's also a quality product made by a reputable company. So, If you have an earlier version of Layton and really like it, and want to save it for going out... then this WIB is a great option for something to wear daily. I had thought they stopped making WIB, and that is was only a limited edition. Maybe it was. I never thought it would ever be at a reputable shop like Joma again for $45 as it currently sells on Ebay for maybe twice that much. Just know the mentholated geranium top in Layton is also here in WIB, but a little less intense, and the scent overall sits closer to the skin than the earlier Layton that I had. It also has a less pronounced vanilla in the drydown compared to Layton, making it less sweet overall. As some have speculated, Layton right now maybe isn't what is once was. I can't say. The earlier one I had was great. But WIB is the best overall "clone" of Layton. It's the best blended and smoothest of any of the clones, and I have tried them all. The Middle East ones... no, just no. I don't care which one it is. No. They are synthetic caricatures at best. On a side note, I trust Lalique for something sprayed on the skin over any of these other houses. This is going for a steal right now. It's a no brainer IMO.

. عالی تر از چیزی بود که فکرشو میکردم بسیار جذاب و خوشبو و خوش ساخت و امروزی ی بار دیگه بهم ثابت شد لالیک عطرهای لاین تجاری رو خیلییی بهتر از اکسکلو میسازه . فقط نمی‌دونم چرا خالق بهترین و زیباترین شیشه های عطر دنیا عطر جدید خودش رو تو شیشه قدیمی و تکراری لانچ کرده . چیزی که هیچچچ ربطی به لالیک وایت نداره ولی انصافا رنگ شیشه به فضای رایحه میاد . وایت این بلک رو وقتی اسپری کردم یهو شمایل باس باتلد جلو چشمم ظاهر شد . خیلییی شبیهه باس باتلده ولی چون امبرکسان داره حس مدرن‌تری داره نت امبرکسان خیلی به اندازه و بجا کار شده که نقش بوستر و مدرن سازی رایحه رو ایفا کنه وایت این بلک فضای کاملا اروماتیک اسپایسی با ته مایه شیرینی داره شروعی سوزان از فلفل سیاه و لاوندر و امبرکسان که همانطور که گفتم شباهت زیادی به باتلد باس داره تو قلب عطر بعد از ده دقیقه رایحه بسیار زیبای هل با کیفییت بالا احساس میشه در کنار لاوندر و وانیل .اما امبرکسان مثل ی روکش رو کل رایحه انداخته شده تو همه جای عطر حس میشه به لطف همین امبرکسان شباهت کلی فضا به سمت لیتون مارلی هم می‌ره ولی شما باتلد باس مدرن شده بدونیدش تو درای دوان همین فضای زیبای اسپایسی اروماتیک مدرن نرم نرم فی میشه تو آکورد چوبی از سدروس و پچولی که بازم رایحه زیباست . کلا خیلی خیلی عطر خوبی دراومده با اینکه حس رایحه اصلا جدید و خاص نیست . ولی بسیار دوستداشتنی و خوش ساخت کار شده که یاد آور. فضای زیبای یاس باتلد هست اما مدرن شده ... در مورد پرفورمنس این کار بازم عملکرد واقعا عالیه با اینکه پخش بوی انفجاری و زیادی نداره ولی واضحا می‌تونه ساعتها روی پوست نقش آفرینی کنه ... .

I picked this up several months ago as part of a fragrance haul. I found myself about to check out but being one bottle shy of free shipping so I took a quick look at a list I’d made of cheapies I’d want that I could add to an order to get free shipping without adding much in the way of a price increase to my order. That time around, I went with this. I had never had my nose on anything by PdM but I did really enjoy this fragrance. The hype of Layton on a budget is real. I took receipt of Layton today as part of a new frag haul order and I can definitely see the comparison. Layton is edgier, it has more of an umph. Layton has a bit of a darkness in my opinion, a depth. This has a light being shone on it, more fleeting, and perhaps ever so slightly more mass appealing for that lack of edginess / dark slight funk that resides in Layton. Whereas Layton is more cool to cold weather, I can see this as an alternative for late spring / summer / early fall and/or using this as a cold weather daytime with Layton being the nighttime version. There are certainly differences, but if you’re looking for the Layton vibe but don’t want to spend the Layton money, this is a great alternative. I can see why the price tag on this one has been edging up.

This is one of those frags you spray on, sniff and think yeah that works. Aromatic, powdery sweet, resinous all makes for a very easy wear without being boring. I find myself wearing this most days (November). It just checks a lot of boxes for me. I have JPG Elixr, which shares a similar profile, but the two frags wear very differently; JPG is loud and a little fboy, whereas White in Black is much softer, gentlemanly and well rounded. I don’t really have anything negative to say...except I wish it lasted longer on skin. It’s not terrible but it’s not a boomer either...about middle of the road. I paid 32.00 for a tester and that’s an extreme bargain for the quality you receive. Update: the honeymoon is over and I’m still really enjoying this frag. I own 35ish frags and I wear this most days. It’s definitely a DNA I didn’t know I would be so drawn to...that’s what makes this hobby so fun. Update: I was in Nordstrom’s the other day and got a sample of Layton. And yes they are very similar. Layton is warmer and more base driven while white in black has a fresher lavender pop on first spray. I prefer white in black because I love that aromatic touch and....a tester cost me the sales tax on Layton.

This is a very interesting fragrance. I haven't smelled Layton, so I get a very different journey with this one than others might. The cardamom, lavender, and vanilla give it an instance of Le Male Le Parfum (but less sweet), where the pink pepper leans it towards Stronger with you Intensely for a moment. Around 5 minutes in, if you look for it, you can get colored pencil shavings as another reviewer mentioned. That part passes quickly. On the drydown, I get something very similar to Habit Rouge L'Eau, a well balanced masculine, slightly powdery vanilla wood. It's also strange because while it feels very soft within 15 minutes--as though it's already become a skin scent--I leave a strong scent trail and get constant waves of it for a while. Very smooth, very pleasant. A cozy fragrance that will invite your partner to nestle in to your neck and draw closer. Edit: This is one of the first scents I have that I am anosmic to. I can't smell it very much after 15-45 minutes aside from the odd waft, but other people can. Lots of compliments.

Finally got my free sample from Lalique. White In Black is smooth, mysterious, and energetic. It's sweet, spicy, powdery, and a little fruity. Strong musky vanilla. Slightly bubblegum. It's more of an evening scent, but the citrus and spice make it bright enough to be worn during the daytime. The projection is only about a foot, but the sillage trails seven feet behind me. I got up from my chair for a minute, and could smell it there when I returned. Though the scent sticks around, it doesn't overwhelm. It seems like Lalique fed IBM Watson every "dark and seductive" fragrance on the market, and the computer belched out White in Black. That's a dream-come-true for me, as I number among the maligned class known as compliment-seeking young men. White in Black is sexy, versatile, and a likely crowd-pleaser. It could sub in for PDM Layton, Armani Code, Prada L'Homme Intense, and YSL La Nuit de L'Homme. "It has a sexy whisper vibe, but I like my men to smell fruitier before I drop my panties", says my wife.

Absolutely phenomenal fragrance. It's kind of like a slightly lighter version of Layton that skips the apple and geranium in the opening (which are the two parts of Layton I really don't care for: apple and that menthol Vicks Vapo-rub smell). It's not quite as strong as Layton, maybe 85% as thick, but that also means it plays nicer in the more temperate seasons. This can be worn most of the year, although I'd avoid heat above 83° or so. The opening is rich cardamom and light resinous incense, in the dry down it turns more towards Layton. Easy 8 hours of longevity on skin with 2 hours of great projection. Lasts a day on clothes. This is a great daily driver and the quality is much higher than Detour Noir which only costs about $15 less, but this also comes in a 4.2 oz vs 3.3 oz. This fragrance literally makes other Layton dupes redundant unless you want a spot on note for note recreation, then I'd recommend the Orientica clones.

I haven't smelled layton directly so I can't comment on the similarity, but I own both WIB and Woods dusk collection and I enjoy both. Both are similar but not the same, with WIB being slightly sweeter/fresher and dusk being slightly herbal/spicier. Out of the two I like the profile of WIB more but not by much. As far as longevity, Dusk performs slightly better. From what I've read, dusk is a direct clone of layton while WIB is an inspiration but not direct clone, and comparing the two I can see it. Overall I like both equally, but in terms of strict scent profile I prefer WIB as it's a little more versatile and more matches my style. Lalique is just a quality brand that has some of the most reasonable prices for great juice and design. WIB is a great pick up for the price, and a great cooler, nighttime scent that will get you compliments. BTW I just looked at the price and it's close to 20 bucks now, that's a STEAL.

This is really really nice. It gives me a vanilla mixed with tobacco feel upon first spray with nice citrus notes blended in. This stays the same on my skin for the next 3 hours and projects at arms length. I wear this for myself as my wife generally prefers blue and green fragrances on me. No problem, this is great to dress up or down and wear with friends. I really like it! In my collection, this reminds me most of the opening of Pure Malt (Mugler) and the dry down of Pure Black (Mandarina). Love em all and will wear this most due to it being less sweet. I have a vial of Layton, and there are definite similarities there but Layton is a bit spicier and heavier on my skin. I think my favourite in this scent profile is the original Chanel Allure for men but Lalique's cost to quality ratio places it a close second. I have a few more from Ms. Sereni and this is definitely my favourite, thank you for this beauty.

Dark and vanilla, sweet but fresh, this is very mass appealing and suitable for all types of people. The quality is there and so is the longevity, but it is a bit "generic" in terms of flavor. This reminds me of some fragrances from the JPG Le Male line but White in Black very much does enough to still be its own thing. This isn't really a flanker to Lalique White, the vibes are totally different between the two. Still, like its companion, White in Black is a great all-rounder. It's tame enough for the office but sensual enough for date night, and you could wear this throughout most of the year so long as it's cool enough where you live. I really dig the matte black bottle and I drew an interpretation of Van Gogh's Starry Night on it using the included white pencil. I wish I had this fragrance in my arsenal sooner, this would be the perfect gift for a younger gentleman in college or even high school.

I don't actually feel this is a clone of Layton, heavily inspired by yes, but full on clone of no. The positive thing for me is the easy to wear aspect of this profile. Layton is rather loud and even cloying in the wrong environment. I LOVE Layton, but it screams for attention. This is much softer around the edges with the right amount of spice and warmth to draw someone in closer, as opposed to Laytons punch in the face. Yes, the performance is not eternal, but it sticks with you for longer than the reviews would have you believe. This came out before other clones were available, with the exception of Alexandria's solid offering. I owned this upon release and was very happy, buying a back up bottle right away, possibly two but I lost track of such things. This is IMO one of the best Layton alternatives out there and worth having, even if you own the real thing.

Amazing fragrance for the price. I picked this up as a tester from FragranceNet for around 32 bucks. It came with a pencil and I thought that was a nice touch. This starts off Amber-y with some vanilla, lavender, and woods. For some reason, in the dry down, to my nose it smelled like Vaseline/Menthol which I thought was super weird. People often say this about Layton ( the fragrance it is cloning ) but I have never tried Layton personally. Performance is alright. I got around 4-5 hours with a soft-medium projection. This fragrance is best suited for Winter, Fall, and Spring. I think it's suitable for day and night use. Lastly, is it a safe blind buy? If you can get past that Menthol/Vaseline smell, then yes it's a great fragrance and a cheaper alternative to Layton. Overall: Scent: 9/10 Longevity: 7/10 Projection: 6.5/10 Lalique White In Black: 8.5/10

Wearing this for some days now... In the opening it gives off a balsamic tonka-vanilla combo with a slight smokey-greenness to it. It is not in-your-face sweet and smells classy. To the drydown it doesn't change very much, it just catches an aromatic-woody-spicy tone. As I mentioned, smells very classy and night-appropriate. Wouldn't wear this in hot weather though. First wearing did not wow me in terms of performance, but following that I got very good longevity with decent to discreet projection. I know people complain about the potency of this juice, but I think that if left a few weeks or months after the first sprays it will do better (as many fragrances do) This smell is both professional and sexy at the same time. It is a clear love from me. I got this for 27$ with a coupon on notino and at that price it is a steal! Hope this helps! Cheers!

As I have not smelled Layton, this is sorta new and unique to me, and I won’t be reviewing it as a “clone” or anything. Woody, resinous, with some vanilla in the background making it creamier and sweet. I’m picking up some sweet and clean tobacco as well even though it’s not listed anywhere. Overall softer and lighter than I expected, but that’s not a bad thing at all, makes it easy to wear. It’s very cozy and delicious. Also really masculine for sure. For cooler weather days and nights, casual and stylish outfits, everyday scent, special occasions, would also say it’s office-safe as long as you aren’t overspraying. Received a free sample but this is full bottle worthy, especially at that retail price. Really happy I was sent this by Lalique, currently my second favorite from them, right behind Encre Noire A L’Extreme.

This one is nice. Very similar to Layton, worse performance (this one lasts about 6h and projects for about 1h), without the menthol note. Layton is usually famous for being one of the most popular niche scents in terms of how liked it is by women. Its definitely overrated. My girlfriend likes it, doesnt love it. Same opinion from other women ive asked. Its very versatile, i think it can be used anytime anywhere. Maybe id choose something fresher in hot midsummer but this one would still not be out of place. It has a mix of fresh and sweet, a bit more sweeter than fresh. I get no citrus. Mostly cardamom, lavender, pepper, with a background of ambroxan and vanilla. In my country its hard to find, usually goes for over $100USD. For that price its a pass. I found on sale for $25USD and for that price its a steal. 7/10

very interesting purchase. i smelled Perles De Lalique (female fragrance) and i was really captivated by the complexity of the smell and its niche quality so i decided to blind buy this one. at first spray it choked my nose out but when it settles its a really pleasing, innofensive aroma. a smooth ambery, balsamic smell that envelopes you instantly. it makes a cozy bubble around you and it really is an awesome fragrance. for the money its a steal. i also got a white pencil in the box - at first i didnt know why but when i read the back of the box its supposedly to write a message on this bottle or as their slogan says "leave a mark" which is quite interesting and unique. I really recommend this if you are a begginer in fragrances as it is a really likeable and relaxing scent.

Update: I have never experienced Layton but I do have Lalique White in Black, and it is fantastic for being so inexpensive. Since I can't seem to get enough of WiB, I purchased North Stag Deux. Comparing to WiB (not Layton)...they are different. WiB is lighter and just a bit more... airy/fresh. NSD seems more dense (probably closer to the OG?). The Lalique works well as an everyday scent. I never tried PDM Layton or Detour Noir but this is really good. It is on the weak side, but @ $42CAD for 125ml I'm ok with that. With that being said....to me, it is a great, slightly powdery but still masculine allrounder that could be worn any time. A month later and after buying quite a few other tester fragrances....I have really come to appreciate how good this is for the $.

I just got this in the mail, picked it up for $45. I had tested it earlier when I received a sample, I liked the scent but not it’s performance. So when I saw it at this price I got it and figured I would just overspray. Wow! To think I almost didn’t buy it. This is such a good scent and because the sprayer dispenses more than the decant does the performance is a lot better. I get 6 hours with about 5 sprays and if I go with 8 sprays I get 8 hours. It kinda has the Layton vibe but it’s not a clone. WIB has more patchouli in the base imo and is very sexy and I love the effect it has on my girl. So I am so happy with this purchase and I definitely getting back up bottles, yup it’s back up worthy.

So i wanted to get something that would be close to layton and i could wear more often without thinking about finishing the bottle off too quickly. I came across this one which i found to be a really great fragrance in its own standing. I get why people think this was a cloning attempt because it does share the layton vibe but its smoother and more wearable as a daily frag. In some ways its more mature than layton and the blending makes it more subtle and less in your face. I just love it and am very satisfied with what it does. Clean, polished, dark and classy. for me its a 8/10 and for the price of less than $50 for 125 ml it was a steal.

This is a beast. It's an incense and cardamom bomb for me, filing my nostrils with its richness. As the frankincense backs off I get a bit of the bergamot from the open intermingling with lavender and a peppery pine. It then progresses into this creamy phase where the vanilla ambery cedar takes on a smoky hue, slowly bringing forth a very slightly musky patchouli. It's gorgeous and I think I'll need to wear it multiple times to fully appreciate it. I was initially worried that it would be overly sweet, but it was more creamy and incensy rich than anything. Pairing it with a dry tobacco frag would probably be amazing.

This is one tough cologne to find, it took almost 2 years to get a bottle. Short story...l love this it is the kind of scent I gravitate to. My first signature scent was Armani Code when it came out, and I have most of the flankers and the new ones. Lalique has quite a few great scents for bothe ladies and men. This is a nice quality EDP and performs as one. I get decent performance out of this as well as some complements. This is a great cologne if you like some masculine sweetness as well as a little spice, smokiness and a little creamy. For the price you can’t go wrong and this is more wearable than PDM Layton.

Don't listen to anyone that says this doesn't perform. A Iot of people--myself included--will go nose blind to this very quickly. I suppose in that sense it could be regarded as poor performance. I've had my bottle for well over a year now and it's even more potent. Even I can smell it on myself longer at this point. I will forget I'm wearing it, and when I go out people stop me to tell me I smell fantastic. I catch random whiffs of this 7-8 hours later. Smells great on clothes and you will get an entire day of this on clothing. I still don't really understand the chalkboard bottle and white pencil thing, but....

Had this almost a year now. Don’t wear it often because Detour Noir is closer to Layton and I can smell it on myself all day. This is absolutely a better quality juice though. I do personally go noseblind/anosmic to this almost immediately, but I have received compliments on it some 6-8 hours later, and I will get whiffs of it all day as I move around. 3 hours after putting it on I’ve filled my office—but have forgotten I’m even wearing it. Have woken up still smelling it. Not sure what will happen over time but don’t regret buying it. It’s smooth and different enough from Layton to be it’s own thing.

I don't know Layton or many of its analogues but I do know Zilli Cuir Impérial, and it surprises me that a number of people have cast votes indicating that White in Black is not similar to that. WiB plays pretty much like a toned-down, less projecting, more widely wearable version of the Zilli, with much less cardamom. WiB is probably a touch more youthful (bubblegum- or shower gel-like) in the opening too, but still similar overall. From what I gather, this does suggest that WiB smells largely like a softer Layton, with much less of that cardamom-based camphorous or menthol-like effect.

I have never smelled Layton, but Lalique White in Black is nice. To my nose, it smells a bit like Lolita Lempicka Green Lover. I get the lemon/grapefruit opening and a playdoh-ey vanilla. I wouldn't say this is a masculine scent. This is very unisex to me. It is mass-pleasing which must be a bit disappointing to some Lalique fans, but a lot of people will like this. To me this his is a good fragrance for cooler evenings, casual wearing & dates. People close to you will enjoy this. It does not project a lot and seems to last a workday on my clothes.

Honestly, it is a very good fragrance. Lalique house never dissapoints (maybe a bith with Ma Force and Encre Indigo, but both of them were not bad) with their releases. This fragrance is a huge twist on the Layton DNA, it is less peppery, less spicy with a unique, sweet balsamic tone added to it. Not exactly a clone and has very high quality for the price. his is around 50 bucks while the juice quality can easily be sold for hundreds of dollars. My single complain would be the strength, I'd want this one more long-lasting or more projecting.

Simply put this thing smells amazing! Definitely an instant favorite. Getting a few backup bottles. I definitely get a very strong similarity to Layton and it's easy to see the comparison. Definitely the most comparable that I've smelt. I get equal longevity and seems to project pretty solid. Presentation is awesome, good looking heavy glass bottle. On initial spray i get a small Burberry London resemblance. I also get a similar vibe to another cologne created by this perfumer Karine Dubreuil-Sereni in Gucci Pour Homme II.

As many have said, it is 90% similar to Layton. It is a lighter and less menthol and sweet interpretation of Layton. There shouldn't be a strong dose of Ambroxan because the projection and sillage are close to the skin after an hour, so it works better in hotter weather. It could be the trade-off with a smoother composition. Given that Lalique is great at making glass bottles, it is a shame the bottle isn't as aesthetically novel. It is worthy of blind-buy.

Just received today. Belting fragrance. Paid less than £21 for 125ml. Lalique does it again. They all smell far more expensive and near niche quality for bugger all money..I don't really get any grapefruit in the opening but I do get the bergamot. Ido get the Elemi and Cardamom in the mid and I definitely get the smooth creamy vanilla and cedar at the end. I'll have to see if it gets better with sometime to macerate. But what a belter...

Just received this, so this review is based on 10 minutes of smelling it. Its...pleasant/nice. Longevity does not appear to be that good. I only sprayed it once, but after just a little bit its becoming just a skin scent. If this smells similar to Layton I could not imagine paying that much for this scent. I got my 4.2oz for $45, which is fair. But over $200 like Layton? Oh, hell no. 6/10 Pretty good but longevity appears to be poor

The price lately is absolutely ridiculous. I am so glad I got it for under $40 while I could. It is a very nice Layton replacement, but its currently selling for over $100 right now LOL...thats almost the price of Layton on sale. And considering this only lasts about half as long as Layton, that makes it even more of a dud. 3/10 Good, but because of the HUGE price increase I have to give it a bad grade. Wait for discounters.

I've never smelled Layton, probably never will. When people here are all agreeing this smells very close to Layton for $40 (at discounters), I will enjoy this awesone jewel of a scent! Dont care for the crayon they give you, Lalique didn't have to try so hard (the name is also a miss), the scent speaks for itself. Last plenty on me, though many have had Layton and figure performance from this is trash.

Tried PdM Layton the other day and although these two have a similar scent profile and quite the same dry down I would choose White in Black every day of the week. Much more development in the scent that intrigues me. Performance might be a little less compared to Layton, but the price is more than a little less. Breaking the bank for Layton doesn't make sense at all. Thumbs up for Lalique.

Wow 😯, my bottle arrived today and, dayyyyyuuuum, it’s that familiar Layton DNA for sure. I am shocked at how great this smells! A bit lighter than Layton, WIB is to Layton what Explorer is to Aventus. Extremely wearable, and completely inoffensive. Hopefully this becomes more available in the US soon, I want to buy another bottle already, this is most definitely backup bottle worthy!

Spicy, aromatic, non-gourmand vanillic, woodsy goodness. What to not like about it? Ambroxan is utilized in it beautifully and aromatic lavender gives a masculine cleanness dimension. Right after spraying and for like 5 mins it reminds me PdM Layton but nothing like it after that. Great year around office safe scent. Longevity and silage are both just average.

Very pleased with this purchase! I love Detour Noir, but Black in White is a little less sweet, and little more gentle. Does not project as much, but on me I feel there's a pleasant scent bubble that is present and office safe. I need to try out the white grease pencil that comes with it.. draw cats on my bottle or something 🐱

This is the easiest Layton style DNA to wear. It removes the menthol in the opening that many people dislike about the original. White in Black is smooth from the opening and does get a bit powdery in the later dry down. I also prefer this to Detour Noir as that one opens a bit screechy. This is a great buy! 9/10

Nose Note #461 I love amber and cardamom scents and this to me is in one family with D&G The One. I haven't tried Layton yet but I will. This is also somewhat like MFK Grand Soir and a tiny bit like Boss Bottled. Definately a massive gem. Huge inexpensive gem... 9/10, can't go wrong with this one

I'll consider this one for when I have to wear something relatively "normal". I like it a lot, I like my daily scent to be a bit darker, but I think this is good for a first date, meeting or interview. Dinner with a lot of people or a night out. It's pretty versatile for what I am into.

Sweet sexy lactonic creamy vanilla with touch of spice, the opening its heavy on grapefruit and lavender with base of vanilla (like applepie), this is layton with tone down spice and less apple, i more like it because its cheaper and not strong as layton. Perfect daily scent for me

The only regret is that I was stupid enough not to buy 2 bottles instead of one, now it's out of stock and am beaten myself for thinking 50 euros was too much and I wasn't sure if I would like it or not, now I have to wait for few months for it to resurface again on discounters

This isn’t a Layton clone,it smells closer to a mix of Layton&Althair with some elements of SWY.. The opening is a bit generic and the projection is not the greatest but for what I paid for it (30€) it’s actually amazing,the drydown is niche quality with a smooth dusty vanilla.

I prefer this over Layton. I sold my bottle of Layton. It's not as strong and overbearing, doesn't have the weird menthol thing Layton has, less sweet and cheaper. The quality is good too - it does not smell cheap. Get a decant if you're not sure and try it out.

This is awesome. Very similar to L’arc evasion and Layton (from what I remember, only tried Layton once at a store). Very recognizable scent. Comes with a white pencil to draw on/personalize your bottle. Pretty cool. Amazing price for what you get.

I finally picked this one up after several years of suggestions. I am glad I did! It is very nice. I see some similarities to Layton, but this one does its own thing in the dry down. Good suggestion! I got it a very good price at discounters.

Ibrah3m go back to your Al Fartharim. It even rhymes hahaha A civilised perfume for civilised people. Layton underneath? Maybe 30% ... But has its own character, decent and well rounded. 9/10 Thank you Lalique (I will repurchase!)

Layton if you don’t like it quite as sweet. You don’t get the longevity of the OG, but for this money why would you? Lalique, at discounters, are the bangest for the buck there is. 8/10

#34 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Doesn't project? This stuff projects like a space laser! I've bought my last bottle of Layton! Thanks to everyone for the recommends. This is a real find!
