Perles De Lalique

Blind buy, and so far I have just done a paper test, but I love it so far. A deep, jammy rose, overlaid with pepper and a veritable forest of wood scents. It's sexy but also sort of androgynous. I haven't smelled Femininité du Bois yet, so I can't speak to its similarity (discussed in an excellent Fragrantica appreciation of that perfume, which is how I found out about this one). However, there are aspects of it that remind me of both Rose Flash by Tauerville (a scent I have in rollerball and have adored for years) and also Nirvana Rose by Elizabeth and James, which I also like a great deal. I think the pepper and woods notes might be a trifle more pronounced in the Perles de Lalique (the bottle is insanely elegant, too, especially considering the price of the whole shebang), but it's similar enough to those perfumes that I could see it fulfilling a similar need. To my nose, and at least on paper, the sillage and projection of the PdL are superb and probably superior to the NR and possibly even the RF (although it is unfair to compare a spray to a rollerball, and unfortunately I just have RF as a rollerball, so I can't compare apples to apples, or in this case woody rose chypres to woody rose chypres). Anyway, I'm excited about this one and hope to compare it to other Nathalie Lorson creations once I can do a skin test. Update: wearing more generally on my skin today. It has a bit of an alarming opening, but it calms down quickly to a beautiful jammy rose with pepper and woods. The iris barely peeks through, but it seems to reinforce the vegetal forest vibe and make it a bit powdery, too (although musks also seem to be prevalent). This is a very elegant and autumnal fragrance, and I like it even more than Le Parfum, my gateway into Lalique fandom. Update: My husband described the scent as a "fancy pet store," which is what he often says when he smells a prominent cedar note. (At least it isn't a dirty, pee-soaked pet store, lol.) He does like this scent, and I'm going to try to get him to wear it, since to my nose it is extremely unisex, despite the jammy beautiful rose. To my nose, Perles de Lalique smells more like an enchanted (maybe haunted?) library deep in the forest, a library that's generously stocked with roses and old books, old wooden index cabinets filled with mystical ciphers. The hints of camphor up top confer a bit of an old-timey coughdrop vibe: Maybe the forest librarian has a bit of a cold? The wallpaper looks like rich green velvet, and then you notice that there's oakmoss growing on the walls. In fragrance, as in life, one person's enchanted sylvan library is another person's fancy pet store. Some Fragranticans describe the woody notes as smelling like pencil shavings, which is something people say whenever they smell cedar or any wood notes at all. As it happens, I have always adored the scent of pencil shavings, so it works out great for me. I'm certain now my enchanted library also has a pencil sharpener, the old-fashioned metal kind that is bolted to the desk. How I loved using those sharpeners in grade school and high school--so satisfying!

As someone very new to the world of fragrances, this is a wonderful scent. My first blind pick (and only second perfume I've owned, admittedly) all of the notes listed had me very interested, and fairly confident I would, at the very least, not dislike it. I was correct, it smells lovely. From the perspective of someone unfamiliar with distinguishing notes, it is a woody scent with a light and feminine air to it. I believe the main note I'm getting is the vetiver, as it reminds me a lot of my oils and some of the more common incense sticks I've smelled. I do not pick up on the iris or the rose, however I'm assuming those notes are there to soften the base notes rather than compete with them. My family agreed they mostly get a wood-based essential oil smell. With this in mind it is still a great perfume, but if anyone has a recommendation for a similar perfume with more emphasis on a powdery scent, please let me know! As far as negatives, this is hard to discern for me at the moment due to my inexperience with perfumes. However I can confirm it certainly does not smell like pencil shavings, I am well familiar with that scent. Perhaps this scent could lean too masculine for some, but I find it too soft to say it would suit most men. That being said, could be a very intriguing and refined fragrance on the right guy. Overall, if you're a woman that isn't a fan of the obnoxiously sweet or intense floral scents prominent in the world of perfume, in my opinion this is a great perfume to try out, largely due to the accessible price point. On my skin it lasted about 6 hours, and is still lingering! I was careful not to overwhelm my nose with it, so it's possible that if you overspray, it could lead to olfactory fatigue. If you're looking for an earthy perfume with a soft, elegant twist, it's definitely worth a sniff.

As a man, I freakin' LOOOVE wearing this "Dapper" unisex-leaning feminine fragrance! Its close to perfection really... I do wish that Montale or Mancera would re-create this dna so that it was BEAST-MODE! But alas, Im sure its not "Modern" or popular enough for that to happen, but no harm in dreamin' right?!.. Now, I do have some excellent advice if ya want Perles de Lalique to last and even keep the opening a lot longer both on skin and clothes.😉 Now, since Perles de Lalique is Iso e Super heavy already, I tried spraying additional Iso e Super (OVER) a few spritzes of Perles and the Iso e just blends seamlessly with Perles and makes it last much, MUCH longer! I was a bit concerned at first bc when your nose "Figures out" how to actually sense Iso e Super, theres NO mistaking its awesome, woody aroma, and it even becomes quite noticable and very long-lasting. Since Perles de Lalique is NOT a super strong fragrance I was worried that the Iso e may drown out my Perles like it had a few of my other "weaker" scents,, but it did NOT! It must be bc Perles is already so Iso e heavy to begin with? Idk, but man does it work! I recommend having a good bottle of Iso e Super anyways bc it truley does help any fragrance last longer, but outta my 150+ bottle collection, I think that Iso e works just about THEE BEST with Perles de Lalique out of the few fragrances Ive experimented layering with Iso e thus far (My idea of "fun" lol!)! Try it ya'll, ya wont be dissapointed! Thanks for reading my thoughts on Perles de Lalique! A SUPER Dapper, elegant be-witching fragrance by Alchemist-Queen Nathalie Lorson!! BEAUTIFULLL!

Beautiful, unique, DAPPER, genderless CLASS in a bottle! Rose for all! I so love the Black Pepper and Rose combination. The way the black pepper stands out wo making this an ultra spicey fragrance is genius imo. The patchuli plays along well in the composition wo over powering the black pepper and rose while the vetiver sits in the back ground helping make this more "unisex" while still leaning just a tad bit more feminine, yet absolutely do-able by us gents (There are WAYYY more Feminine leaning frags out there which are "marketed towards men" these days). It's like Nathalie Lorson is a Sorceress who practices Alchemy with her oils and poitions and then purposefully making her fragrances affordable and attainable so that she can put more of us under her spell! For example, Lalique's Encre Noire (One of my all time faves) manages to be Dark, Brooding and Foreboding while also being Smooth, Ethereal and Bright all at the same time?... FREAKIN' MAJIC YO! I LOVE Lalique and ESPECIALLY Anything by Nathalie Lorson. Again, Perles De Lalique is such a "Dapper" smelling fragrance and just helps make anyone wearing it feel more "Well put together" especially when dressed up a bit for work etc.. I would like it if this DNA was a bit better performing, but after learning that Perles contains a good dose of Ambroxin, it may just be that Im going Nose-Blind after a few minutes, plus we have the dreaded (Reformulation👾Goblin) to worry about. A 9 outta 10 fragrance which would be a 10 if it lasted and projected better, but again, (AMBROXIN)! LOVE Perles De Lalique! Thanks to whomever took the time to read my review!😉

Perles is a love at first sniff! I wish I'd discovered it sooner! The patchouli and rose combo in this is so tasteful and addictive! It's a well balanced, mysterious fragrance that makes me think of the many folkloric tales of White Ladies - ghosts of women haunting old castles. It is a beautiful rose and patchouli with earthy yet fresh, cold, spectral notes. I'm so glad that this isn't powdery in an annoying way, or sweet. There is a slight scent of precious incense layered within the prominent rose and patchouli.. But no oriental heaviness to it! It's light as a ghost! Admittedly, I'm at a loss for words to accurately describe this scent. It's such a good, unique and timeless blend imo! It's perfect for folks who like mysterious, unsettling scents, and would like their scent to reflect an effortless spring/summer night goth vibe. Although it's totally wearable all year round. I'm thinking ghosts, moonlight, strings of white pearls and roses on velvety black robes, walking through a private old castle graveyard, reading a book in a rose garden on an overcast day. As for Perles' supposed similarity to Midnight Poison - I have to say that they do share a similar vibe but only in the late drydown (several hours in). However, while the base bears similarities, Perles leans significantly colder and spectral, while MP remains hypnotizingly sweet in comparison. Perles is amazing when layered with Encre Noire, for an added dark forest / old church vibe. Also great when layered with Passion de Night (a dupe of Midnight Poison by Dior).

As a fragrance blogger and ardent fumie, I get to smell a lot of high end niche perfumery. More recently, I seem to be turning back to more mainstream and designer scents because of the quality and innovation that is happening in those places that we turned our noses up at - the department store! I smelt Perles in Selfridges this weekend after a bore-fest at the 'wall of niche' where no new releases and no samples appeared. This perfume flabbergasted me. Perles is awash with ISO E Super (the velveteen woody aroma-chemical that was responsible for the popularity of Ecsentric Molecules 1). Apparently it contains 80% of it (albeit in dilution of course). The notes read as a standard patchouli chypre, but what you can't perceive from the notes is it's vibrancy. It has an aldehyde-like uplifting brightness that feels immensely euphoric. It reminded me of a less rosy, more woody, version of one of my all time favourites - Calypso by Robert Piguet. The patchouli is there (especially towards the drydown), but it's not overpoweringly patchouli. This stuff has subtly and a great transformation from the peppery bright beginning through to a soft whisper of a woodsy close. It has impressive longevity too. I would say that this is not 'for women' but unisex. I would also say that it's flipping marvellous!

What surprises me is its name. I can't imagine this having anything to do with pearls. What's most important to note is it's perfectly unisex. What's also important, it's extremely long-lasting. Don't put it anywhere near your hair if you are not planning to wash your hair before sleep. It's not insanely lasting, but I felt it myself (!) after wearing over 18 hours. I woke up in the night and smelt it. I don't feel I'm able to describe it adequately. Except I feel it would be terrible for warm spring and summer, maybe on rainy cool days I'll wear it, but it's so warm and cozy, any warm weather seems wrong for it. It is slightly old-fashioned, but I feel it's timeless enough not to feel like grannies. I think it's a good choice for those who want something that doesn't scream "woman fragrance" but doesn't want anything masculine. If you ask me, I don't feel any flowers, to me it's pepper plus some patchouli with bits and bobs, maybe camphory vetiver too. The "oakmoss" which sometimes feels sticky, synthetic and heavy either is weak enough or it just rhymes well with the main components, doesn't deter me. It often protrudes from the "granny" fragrances, I really mean, it falls around like naphtalene mothballs, but here it's negligible, otherwise I'd skip it.

Elegant and electric. And further proof that Fragrantica's note listings are suggested reading only, because on my skin this thing has a honking, Tauer-sized incense that nearly tramples the rose. It gives Perles a surprisingly bohemian streak, like a rich woman who was once a tarot reader. The heart of the scent is a rosy, patchouli-dusted "modern chypre" accord, but Perles avoids falling in with that generally lazy group thanks to quality ingredients and an expert craftsman at the helm. The rose is juicy and plush, the patchouli smells properly peppery and natural, and the incense, vetiver, and a translucent cedar (Iso E Super) keep things crisp. It's all so chic, and so perfectly modulated, that for a moment you might wonder whether the glory days of the chypre are gone after all. The form is different, but the spirit seems intact. Somehow Lalique fragrances are still a steal on discount sites at a time when just about every cheap thrill is reaching above its station, so if you're at all inclined toward sheer, rosey-woody-incensey things with equal parts pizzazz and pure breeding, Perles de Lalique should be on your list.

Moody, woody, gothic, rose! I love it! It's the ruins of a medieval gothic church. Old wood... old stone... all reclaimed by nature with overgrown vines and roses. It's both romantic and melancholy. Dramatic and understated. All of this is in reference to the heart and dry down, though. The *tops are a bizarrely misplaced assault of some terrible, cheap chemical note. It's like some brilliant nose spent weeks perfecting the essence of the Disney film Sleeping Beauty, then went to bed exhausted from their masterful work... at which point a two year old came in and dumped some random note in for the tops! 😂 Luckily, the terrible thing in the tops doesn't last long, while the heart and dry down do! At the time of this writing, this is on clearance at FragranceNet (hence my blind buy): I highly recommend you go snatch one up! *The tops grew on me. I first tried this during the last, lingering hold of winter, and, yes, the potent green tops felt out of place at the time. On this rainy, mid-spring day however, those greens notes act as a perfect opening act for the moody rose/patchouli lying just beneath. Divine!

On first spray, a full big showy rose followed very quickly by a lovely boozy pepper. The patchouli, cashmere and tonka give a very smooth serene finish with the rose and pepper still playing their part. All blends so beautifully. A huge big love for me. The moment I tested I knew I needed this asap. And I agree with other reviewers, it is very cool but not cold and distant though. A very comforting scent to my nose and at the same time a little sexy. The bottle is based on a 1928 design of Lalique's "Cactus Powder Box". A pretty bottle with a nod to Lalique's vintage glass design. I love how it's always incorporated with their bottles. I don't think the notes here are current given restrictions on oakmoss etc. (probably from an older formulation) or maybe they aren't listing oakmoss and vetiver. I don't smell them myself. I tried this fragrance at a perfume meetup and ordered a bottle on the spot — I was completely enchanted. My love for perfumery began with Dior Bois d’Argent — one of the most beautiful iris scents, where the living iris flower pushes through a haze of cigarette smoke, with none of the powderiness so often found in iris compositions. Here, the flower feels just as alive, but it’s also joined by a few rosebuds, making the fragrance shift like a kaleidoscope — one moment it’s a sultry iris, the next a fragrant rose. There is a touch of powder here, but it supports the patchouli base — softening it, enriching it. To me, the bottle and name don’t quite match what I hear in this scent. It feels gothic, dark — something Morticia Addams might wear. A woman who knows her worth, yet whose heart is as delicate as an iris petal. After a couple of hours, patchouli and rose linger on the skin, staying with you the whole day. Performance 10/10.

Perles de Lalique may be marketed as a women’s fragrance, but it absolutely deserves a spot in a man’s lineup, especially for those daring enough to push boundaries. This isn’t your typical “feminine” scent. Right from the first spray, it’s bold and refined, with a peppery rose that’s sharp and edgy. The rose here feels earthy and confident, perfectly balanced with rich patchouli and smooth iris that give it a sophisticated, almost brooding quality. For a man, Perles can be worn as an elegant alternative to the usual spicy or woody scents, ideal for cooler weather or formal evenings. The dry, musky undertone anchors it, lending a warm, refined depth that feels at home on a man’s skin. It’s bold enough to stand out but subtle enough to feel intimate, lasting a solid 4-5 hours (YMMV) with a moderate sillage. It’s proof that true elegance in fragrance knows no gender boundaries.

Blind buy. The notes sounded intriguing. At first spray, and with my first wearing of this I was very unsure. It felt so camphor heavy with a rose lurking in the background. I can absolutely appreciate unique fragrances on others, but I wasn't sure if it felt like "me". I put it on the shelf for several months, wanting to give it some time to sit and rest. Late spring turned to a very hot summer, and I didn't feel that the heat would give this a fair chance as it very much felt like an autumn and winter perfume to me. It is now autumn again, and I tried this out on a chilly, rainy day. It is gorgeous to me, now. Mysterious fallen leaves and soil next to a melancholy rose. The snow is kissing the mountaintops where I live, and this is a mood. I totally get it now, and I have this out on my shelf for wearing. Uncertainty has become love.

Disclaimer: I’m not a perfume expert and I lack profound knowledge in the sphere of perfumery. I love this perfume or rather I used to love it, owned three bottles in the course of two years I guess. It’s a very feminine scent which definitely won’t suit everyone. My friend says she can smell too much iris and it reminds her of some medicinal ointment. But it definitely worked for me. I got compliments from many people when I was wearing it. Moreover, the bottle has great design but what can one expect from Lalique? After those two years I got bored with that scent and simply stopped wearing it. I have a feeling it might remain so or one day I’ll continue wearing them. In general, great quality, quite an original scent which will definitely make people notice it and compliment you; and of course the price is tempting to try it out.

Someone near me has been selling full bottles for under 20 bucks. I bought 2 to give away. The price is extremely good value. The bottle is perfection and unusual - a design gem. I have seen a boxed set in Europe that is super elegant and gorgeous. Perles is such a Lalique fragrance. I think the house works with the same molecules, rearranging them. It's also such a Lorson fragrance. This fragrance is a success of contemporary perfumery because it was created with what noses and companies have to work with now and it smells contemporary and fully realized to the concept. So many fragrances you feel "this is missing so and so" or "this has a slight misstep" or "this isn't what it used to be" or "I see what they were aiming for but came up short due to unfortunate molecules". And then there is the expertly crafted gem Perles.

Ok, so Nathalie Lorson is QUICKLY becoming one of my all time favorite perfumers with offerings like Encre Noire and now Perles De Lalique! Admittedly those are the only two from her I've tried as far as I know bc her portfolio is so extensive, and I have no Idea who the parfumers are in most of my collection, but these 2 are among my most impressive and unique, so then that is why I bothered finding out who the mind behind them even was. Perles De Lalique is absolutely gorgeous, perfectly unisex, and is such a dapper, clean scent! I just love the way Black Pepper, Rose and Patchouli are used in this fragrance and how these notes take center stage. The performance is good, Id say between 6 to 8 hours depending on the sprays used. Just great! 9 outta 10 fragrance imo.. Nathalie Lorson is a GENIUS, MASTER PERFUMER!🥴

I had to let this sit for a month before I could even stand to take the cap off. All I could smell was moss, moss, and more moss (which I hate). But after I had left it on its own for a while, it evolved into a beautiful rose-patchouli fragrance, something that struck a chord in my memory - it smells very similar to Ex Idolo's Thirty Three, but on the opposite end of the thermometer. Perles is cold, almost stony, and very airy, while Thirty Three is unctuous and round and rich. I really enjoyed comparing these on blotters and teasing out their differences. They could be sisters, but where Perles is older, aloof, and rail-thin, Thirty Three is curvaceous and seductive. I enjoy both for different reasons, so if you're on the fence about this one, let it rest for a while and try it in cold weather.

"I was born when she kissed me." Perles is the dry, airy, rose + patchouli + vetiver chypre of my dreams with moderate sillage. "I died when she left me." And then it's gone. "I lived for a few weeks while she loved me." For the 15 minutes it's around, I am truly myself and desperately in love. I have not been able to ascertain whether the fragrance is weak or I am anosmic to it. Either way, it's criminal. UPDATE: The above review is for my recently purchased bottle. The batch code places this current bottle as manufactured in 2024 and the fragrance colour is clear. The fragrance in my bottle I purchased some time in the 2010s is golden in colour and still retains its full-bodied scent.

Magic in a bottle. At first like 20 minutes it's smells like a big, red, juicy rose(reminded me of chopard - love). Then it smells like you have a walk in a forest, really woody, some kind of herbals, pine and spicyness. In the end, on my skin it smells just like a church wax candles and powder. Insane scent! I would give association with old, fairytale-like hospital. Just imagine a nurse with a powdered face, carries ointments and holds an old candle in her other hand, windows are open and you could feel coldness and smell of the trees. Whoever who likes a horror movies, or maybe a fairytales would like it. Such a good price for this bottle, so unique and whimsical. 10/10

Somehow very light and fresh while still remaining mysterious and dark. Amazing gothic style fragrance that smells to me like a dark forest with damp soil and roses. It’s powdery, it’s earthy and woody, with a very intense, alluring atmosphere. It’s perfect as an everyday wear if you want to wear something unique and alternative, without it being polarising or high effort. It’s also pretty versatile, but the best for fall and winter for sure. I do get some similarities with ELDO’s Hermann à mes Côtés, it has a similar damp soil and rose quality, but there are plenty differences. The longevity is also pretty good, at least on myself, so consider me a fan

This is wow for the price of this. It's a gorgeous rose patchouli but with twists, the rose with the pepper makes this feel a little like carbonated rosewater to me, it's not bubbly exactly but it's got that kind of carbonated smell to it. The patchouli here also has a little touch of cigarette. I imagine someone wearing this at a dance party in the 50/60s. It's very long lasting and I love to wear this to work for something interesting but fresh. I thought I'd smelt all of the styles of rose patchouli, but no, this one is different again. Does it smell like Dior Midnight Poison? Well it has similar elements, but overall, no.

How come no one is talking about the IRIS in this beauty..?? With the holy trinity of iris, orris PLUS an actual powder note... All of the others are side figures. Beautiful and just as important for the choreography to flow... The iris is the one asking the patch to go get her a coffee, while the rose is massaging her shoulders... Anywho. For a lover of all things iris such as myself... This is heavenly. Smooth. NO, It's not the smell of your granny. Its the smell of her ghost stopping by in the shape of her young hot self, nodding proudly from the corner every time you spray this on 😉

My first reaction to this was wow! This is so good and IMO it is very much unisex. I cannot stop sniffing my wrist since I sprayed it. It starts with a silky woody rosy scent and then transitions to iris in one of the most beautiful transitions I have ever seen. I don't associate Nathalie Lorson with awesome fragrances targeted for women but this sure has been a big exception so far. Don't get me wrong! I love her male targeted fragrances. It is a year around fragrance and suitable for any occasion. It could have been a true masterpiece if had a better silage/projection.

At first spray, it is quite peppery. This is not a scent-bomb by any means, Perles wears moderately against the skin and creates a beautiful, soft aura. Once the initial burst of pepper fades, I'm essentially left with Noir de Noir Eau Fraiche - the office-appropriate version of Tom Ford's gothic rose-patchouli. Also very reminiscent of Gris Dior/Gris Montaigne, with more woods and punchier, less sweet (which I prefer very much). I love that it's an easy wear but feels dressy, clean, and assertive enough for women (and men) of serious and corporate occupations.

Another one of my blind buys (and possibly the best one ever!). The smell at first hits you like a truck, thankfully it calms down a bit after a few seconds. As a fan of the rose scent it makes me incredibly happy that this - in fact - does smell almost entirely of roses (with a fair amount of moss sprinkled in). It is quite powdery as others have said. It does remind me of an old stone church/gravestones/holy water a bit. I like it a lot! Perfect for a summer stroll through the cemetery (but if you like cold, rose scents then it could be worn anytime, really).

Beautiful and unique perfume, in the opening you can smell pepper and something fresh and clean. Unfortunately on me the longevity is very poor and it's getting worse with time even though I only wear this perfume in spring and fall so I take breaks from it to prevent olfactory fatigue. When I was trying it I didn't have problem with longevity, I could smell it all day but now I only smell it for the first 5 minutes :( I guess this perfume is olfactory fatigue prone because other people are giving me compliments when I wear it but I can't smell it anymore.

Will be very brief here. There is a Rose Prick, there are Roses on Ice and this is a prickly ice glazed rose. I personally find this gorgeous. Especially in the Summer heat. And you can not overspray. After a month of usage goes to my Extended Favourites shelf and Exceptional Value for Money hall of fame. UPD: while wearing PoaL I realised that (to me of course) it feels like a very concentrated version of Perles. As I prefer prominent rose scents more diluted and airy I believe I find Perles more to my liking

Nathalie Lorson + an interesting note breakdown + an affordable price = a successful blind buy :D The scent is magnificent and multi faceted, but it's mainly a silky airy rose and earthy patchouli sitting on a woody base. It kinda resembles a vanilla-less YSL Tuxedo, with a bit of Frederic Malle's Portrait of a Lady. It's unique on its own and a great unisex blend for this price. It doesn't seem to last long on my skin but I really don't mind when the scent is that good. Worth a try for sure!

I tried this years ago and was just ‘meh’ about it, but I recently bought a full bottle and all I can surmise is that I must have tried it in the wrong season because now I absolutely love it! It goes very well with my skin chemistry and with the winter weather. I mostly just get the patchouli and rose, and what a beautiful rose it is. It has moderate longevity and sillage on me. I’m thankful I don’t get any vetiver. This is one classy, sophisticated, very smooth, non medicinal beauty!

I don't think I've ever seen a more perfectly named fragrance in my life. Pearls. Yes. Classy, powdery rosy scent, perfect for wearing a classic red lipstick and pearls. It has more depth than it first shows and it manages to be polite and seductive at the same time somehow. It's a perfect gift as the "first serious fragrance" for an 18 year old and a perfect gift for a person's 40th birthday too, like pearls, it suits nearly everyone. Love it 🤍

Smells of patchouli, mossy woods, anise, rose, powdery musks/iris and lemon (in this order). The rose here is of the jammy kind (rose crystals) but not overpowering. It is quite a sweet fragrance with anisic qualities and some citrus, predominantly lemon on top. Due to the note breakdown, it leans a bit feminine and smells a bit dated but is still a wearable and really well blended scent overall. Wouldn't expect any less from Nathalie Lorson.

Another simplistic gem from Lalique. One of the top ones in its price category. None of 20 or more other perfumes that I tested in the same mall were even close to Les Perles. Mainly iso-e super, a bit of patchouli and rose, but mixed with style. I believe that those who are not into perfumes will love it – it has everything you want from everyday perfume, so it might be a good present. Grab one for yourself and two for your daughter and son.

This was a successful blind buy. I wanted a rose but something different and this fits perfectly. I get the rose strongly at first but it is not a sweet rose. It creates a lovely cloud of fragrance around me that brings in the more earthy notes from the patchouli, vetiver and oakmoss. To me it is more dry than powdery. I have been wearing it in high heat and it is not overwhelming but still feels light and airy. Definitely unisex.

A beautiful chypre that is not too oakmossey. Cool, calm, and collected. It definitely, definitely has black currant, thought it is not listed, one of my favorite notes. Yes, I can see a lot of resemblances with EDLO's Hermann - black currant, rose and patchouli. They are not exactly alike though, Hermann has this unique aquatic, watery quality to it. And Perles is delightfully powdery (but only slightly so). A solid like.

I love it. It smells like a cousin to Encre Noire. It's stronger than Encre Noire is nowadays. It's cold and stony like a castle or church, and yet the flowers are clear, although also cool in tone. It's like walking out of dark ancient cold building into a stoney courtyard or garden with roses. It works for summer and winter. I would like it to have more camphor. Its chic on a sunny day and gloomy and dramatic at night.

I have been looking for the perfect rose for a long time. it is beautiful, non-obvious, feminine. I don't see anything unisex here, maybe it's a matter of taste. the scent itself makes me think of a well-groomed, sexy, original woman. it's rose, but perfectly balanced, smoky with a hint of spices in the background. the only thing I'm afraid of is durability... but maybe it requires a little more than 4 sprays...

Like a lot of fragrances which have a beautiful dry down, this starts off very green. I would describe it as a fizzy, rosè sparkling wine, but accompanied by a green (almost medicinal green) smell. Very soon, it softens and becomes more powdery, comforting, yet fresh, pink rose. The dry down is an exquisite, woodsy/rose/patchouli. Best rose I’ve ever smelled in a dry down. Gorgeous, daytime scent.

I've had this for a year and never opened it. I bought it blind during a Lalique haul. I finally opened it to catalog it and put it in its proper place in my perfume closet. I sprayed it on a tester strip and could only smell the pepper in it. I returned to my office later in the day and it had blossomed into a wonderful "spicy" rose blend. It's familiar and unique at the same time.

I am in love with the scent! I get this cold spicy, earthy green/herbal floral that is so unique. It is everything I have been looking for. There is a slight sweetness but in no way cloying... I think this could be a great signature scent. I was honestly looking for the perfect scent to accompany the theme song for The Detectorists by Johnny Flynn, and I think I've found it!

I love love love this scent profile. Is there anything else that truly smells like this? Fleur de Peau? I wish there was an oil or extrait. Every single note in this is one of my personal faves. This is like seeing the silhouettes of clouds drifting slowly over rolling meadows of wildflowers. It's billowy, dreamy, ethereal. Interesting when layered with leather accords.

I blind buy it and guess what I love it , If you watch detective Conan /case closed there is episode about ghost lady in the snow i forget the episode name this perfume reminds me of that episode the smell of this one is strangely very cold with a hint of rose and the rose here is very ghost like , you can’t catch it or reach it but you still sense it around you .

Many many years ago (15 or so?) I stumbled into a small perfume shop in Venice. I was enchanted by their choice and left it with Perles de Lalique and Fleur Oriental by Miller Harris. The last one was sadly discontinued but I still love Perles de Lalique. So classy, cool but sensual ... soft but spicy - like Bunuel's Belle de jour. Try it on your skin!

Like most others in the reviews, this was a blind buy for me. I'm already hooked. It's an absolutely beautiful, unisex, earthy yet elegant fragrance, unlike any I've ever smelled. I do detect the rose somewhere deep beneath all the earthiness; it's subtle, but gives a gentle, somewhat feminine touch to it. Easily a new favorite!

I forget how much I like this until I pull it out every winter. I had a sample of midnight poison and fell in love so when I realized how hard it was to get a bottle, I searched and found this. While it's not an exact dupe, it does for me what I wanted midnight poison to do. It's super sexy and projects well and lasts.

Call me silly, but what rose? I can't pick up any rose tbh. This is a (unisex) vetiver bomb imo. I get citrus, vetiver, pencil shavings, oak moss, and patchouli and something musky when it dries down. It reminds me of lalique white with less warmth in it, less light/fresh and a bit more wood in it.

This reminds me of Hermann a Mes Cotes by ELD- I really love this however it doesn't last as long. It's definitely a little more floral, but in a delicate way. I do pick up on the camphor note in this so watch out if you dislike it. It smells like the garden after it rains. So beautiful.

This is weird scent. It is dry. Not like warm wood or soft powder but rather like dried cement. This is not your granny but her childless business woman sister. Smart, sophisticated, minimalist, practical, serious. I love it but I am not quite sure if I am adult enough to wear it yet.

To me this is a very sexy mysterious type fragrance. It reminds me of a water nymph existing by the River Bank surrounded by roses but dry sort of dying roses like she's sucking the life force out of them. As she waits for her next meal to spy on her like a spider waiting in its web.

I love the patchouli in this very airy minty and it reminds me of end of autumn a ghostly rose which is faintly there with a cold personality definitely suitable for the colder months very relaxing for me so unique and it lasts a good few hours on my skin Perfect for the price

Unique, sexy, all year round. Definitely not blind buy. I really like it, just the longevity is not that good, but for the price, you may overspray it ;-) I also like that the ingredients develops on my skin depends on weather. Maybe to dry for using it during colder Months..
