Pink Paradise

I bought Pink Paradise this summer, when I found it on discount. I've been interested in the perfume for quite a long time, but didn't want to buy it blind at full price. Well, finally I got my hands on it and I'm not disappointed at all. As someone else already mentioned, this is not a "traditional pink scent". I'd argue that it leans quite masculine and also dry. When I wear it I think more about sun baked sand dunes covered with pine forests. The kind of landscapes we have where I live. Close enough to the sea that you can get a whiff of the ocean, but also smell the earthiness of the sand and the woody scents around you. Over all very pleasant and also interesting. This scent has many layers to it. The dry down is a bit peppery on me, but that's also probably the only thing I slightly dislike. The bottle is very pretty, in my opinion.

Pink Paradise is a bit of a fantasy perfume for me. It evokes images of a huge expanse of pink sand on a scorching, hot beach. The kind of beach where you have to walk about a kilometer across the sand, in the hot summer, before you finally get to the shallow waves of the sea. There is zero humidity and you squint to avoid the glare of the sun on the sand. It's a salty perfume which reminds me of Hermes Eau de Mervailles Bleue, Salt by Ellis Brooklyn and Light Blue Intense (pour homme). Salty, dry, no sweetness. Somewhere in the distance, a whisper of breeze creeps in but, only barely. I respect the creativity and I do enjoy this on occasion.

This will likely get you compliments. Not so much because it smells really special, but because people will smell it. It’s the generic scent people associate with fragrance, more specifically men’s colognes, although this isn’t specifically masculine. At least perfectly unisex though. Calone, ambroxen, iso E super, cedar is what my sample card says. For anyone familiar with these notes, it isn’t hard to imagine what it must smell like. There are no surprises in real life. I’m not and ambroxen fan, and it’s giving me a headache, but I at least wouldn’t call the scent unpleasant. It’s the general crowd pleaser we all know. No full bottles in my future.

This is not a pink scent. This a very woody, peppery and almost agrestic scent. In other words, the looks are completely deceptive with this one. Pink paradise? only if your idea of a pink paradise is a super clean, almost sterile, soapy scent with tons of ambroxan, sandalwood and the citrus notes are not like a juicy fruit, nope, it is the offensive bitter dry lemon peel you sometimes obtain in these fake pink lemonade powders you have to mix with water for the drink... Unisex 100% pleasant yes, sexy? no way...shaking my head with this one... Hours later, it becomes a little bit more floral, only a nice clean skin scent.
