Plume Blanche 1901

Do you ever feel genuinely blessed and fortunate to have a perfume? That’s how I feel about this bottle. First off, it is hands down the most GORGEOUS bottle in my collection, and quite possibly that I have ever seen in person, and I’ve had some pretty ones! It is a true collectors piece, a dream to have. Even amongst the Noir Premier line it is unique in its look, and uniquely gorgeous, even moreso than the others in the line. It’s also uniquely difficult to find, and significantly more expensive than most of the others in the collection. So I feel very fortunate to have been able to get my hands on a bottle and for a reasonable price at that. I’m pleased to say that it smells every bit as beautiful as the stunning bottle it’s housed in. My god this is a gorgeous perfume. It’s nothing like Soleil Blanc btw, or Eau de Soleil Blanc. It’s also not like L’Instant, although it’s closer to that than SB. It DOES smell like a Guerlain however, but not like any one particular Guerlain (at least not that I’ve smelled) but rather like a conglomeration of parts of many different Guerlain perfumes, including Cuir Beluga, Tonka Imperiale, Terracotta/Aqua Allegoria Lys Soleia, L’Instant Magic, L’Heure de Nuit, and I’m sure others that I’m missing. Bits and pieces of this and that put together to form something unique and different, but still definitely with that signature Guerlain DNA, which is ironic of course, because this is a Lalique. But if you’re a fan of Guerlinade, you will almost certainly love this. It’s a softer, fresher, modern take on traditional Guerlain style. It smells very classy and expensive. It reminds me of Creed Sublime Vanille though I haven’t smelled that in many years so I’m going strictly by memory, and even then they are not identical by any means, but certainly more similar than what’s in the ‘reminds me of’ section for this perfume. If this wasn’t such a rare and collectible and expensive piece, I would wear this all the time. That’s the sort of downside of perfumes like that, huh? They’re SO special you don’t want to wear them for fear of using them up! Only if I had a back up bottle would I wear this regularly. Until then, I’ll wear this sparingly. But I do love it oh so much and am thrilled to have it in my collection! Lalique outdid themselves with this collection, it’s a stunningly beautiful artful collection where it’s clear that no expense has been spared (don’t even get me started on the STUNNING black lacquer boxes they come in!!) and every detail has been painstakingly thought of and crafted, and while by no means cheap, it IS very affordable for luxury of it’s caliber.

A grand peacock feather on an almond main accord that moves smoothly into a sweet-spicy opening of red mandarin, pink pepper and cardamom, with a powdery green tinge from violet leaves. The white heliotrope with its slightly almondy and vanilla note accentuates the almond on which the whole accord is built, the benzoic resin gives a warm and comfortable sweetness to the deep almond note, without, however, being deprived of the opulence and slightly animalic note given by the jasmine. The olfactory journey settles on a comfortable bed of white musk accompanied by sweet tonka beans and white cedar extract, in a heavy and majestic patchouli end. A musky, floral-woody, grandiose, unique fragrance, typical of the house of Lalique. An olfactory jewel, in a grandiose container, expression of Lalique's respect and love for the art of glass as its signature, perfectly combined with that of perfumery. It's a sad state of affairs that no one has reviewed this scent yet. Indeed, it is hard to get a hold of in the US, but if you are near a Lalique boutique or Harrods in the UK, please give it a try. Plume Blanc is the most intoxicating, light, fresh and slightly sweet Jasmin / heliotrope combination I have ever smelled. The blend is so refined that class emanates from the wearer. Over time the scent continues to bloom into a warmer and warmer version of itself. To be fair, it is quite linear, but linear isn't necessarily a bad thing when a fragrance starts out so beautifully and continues that way...

I ordered a sample of this since the notes seemed promising and the reviews did as well. I think this is perfect for summer, as warmth makes it shine. I find it a bit similar to Soleil by Lalique, but with less mandarin orange and more creaminess and nuttiness. I kind of smell something coconutty in Plume Blanche, even though it's not listed. It's probably the heliotrope, which I really enjoy in perfumes. By the way, the bottle is on its way to me, and I found it at a great price.

like the scent of a loved one's skin. maybe the scent of a mother or lover. It is a candidate to be a signature perfume, but the longevity is really bad. Maybe it stops for 4 hours, it doesn't spread after the first half hour. I love tonka beans, very little sweet and have a powdery feel to almonds and heliotropes with it. pink pepper makes itself felt at the opening and a bit of citrus. Every note I love is in this perfume. i love the smell so much. I wish it would take longer.

Lovely scent with fresh and slightly sweet fruity facets: I can detect some coconut and citruses and maybe cherries (probably from almond note). It also has a touch of powdery flowers and darker patchouli in the base. It actually evokes some memories from my childhood/teenage years, so I think it has a slightly old-school vibe, but in a nice way.

Very elegant, soft and cozy scent, wish I could have a full bottle one day.

Too sweet and floral for my taste. I don't detect the almond, that might have saved this for me. It is very well-blended, no patchouli stands out at all. The bottle is so divine! Hate to lose this from my collection. Unfortunate full bottle blind-buy. Decluttered.

Sunscreen lotion scent, not very well executed, did not like it.

This one reminds me of Extatic Intense Gold by Balmain. 😊 The latter is more luminous, much sweeter and more heliotrope and vanilla centric. While Lalique showscases white musc and almonds with heavy marzipane dust. Balmain is more bold, projecting better and long lasting. Plume Blanche is a skin scent. Close to you bubble and not very long lasting. I like both of them, but definitely prefer Balmain (sadly discontinued) When it comes to presentation - it is just beautiful 🤩 the laque black box, the black velvets and art deco bottle with artistic cap are absolutely stunning !! Great for a gift to somone appreciating art and design.

The bottle is amazingly beautiful; the juice inside is not too bad either, except that it’s not very original. It’s your typical sweet (almost) gourmand: the opening is fruity-spicy (mandarin orange and pink pepper), and from then on I can mostly smell some sweet (not bitter) almond, tonka beans and benzoin, while the expected floral notes are quite subdued. The overall impression is of a warm-ambery, gourmand(ish), autumn-appropriate fragrance; it’s sweet, but not overwhelmingly so. The scent is very long lasting, with moderate projection.

Plume Blanche smells like an expensive sunscreen lotion that turns into a skin scent almost immediately and has minimum sillage. Neither horrible nor excellent, it sits squarely in the "meh" category for me. A bland, unchallenging perfume housed in a stunningly beautiful bottle and classy packaging.
