Terres Aromatiques

This garrigue-scented fragrance celebrates thyme as one of the the most iconic aromatic herbs of the Mediterranean. Thyme's herbaceous and peppery qualities are a perfect foil for this highly aromatic fragrance. Lavandin's sharply green and camphorous scent boosts the herbaceous facets of the thyme, together creating a Provençal accord. A juicy and sweet pineapple note is brightened with lemon, adding further vibrance to the sun-drenched tonality of the aforementioned herbal notes. The effect is akin to fragrant, verdant herbs suffusing the air with their lush scent in the summer sun's baking heat. Green cardamom offers a contrasting cool spiciness while freesia blends softly with its orange-blossom facets in the heart. A woody base concludes the composition, boosted by potent vetyver and the deep aroma of tonka bean, combining with a unique synthetic ambergris-like note called "orcanox". Overall, 'Terres Aromatiques' is a captivating and heartwarming scent. I have always had a love for the odor of thyme, happily running my hands over its tiny leaves in order to attach its charming scent to my fingertips. The lemon and pineapple opening top notes which is later blended with thyme in the heart, reminded me of a citrus sorbet garnished with the herb's delicate leaves. I feel this fragrance can easily be worn year round, but I plan on wearing it frequently this winter. As an "eau de parfum", its longevity and sillage are good, seeming to stay close to the skin in the dry down. 'Terres Aromatiques' can be certainly classified as a unisex fragrance, though I find it slightly more masculine leaning. The opening is quite short, with a blast of very pleasant and airy citrus for a few minutes, nothing offensive or sharp to my nose, certainly nothing like Lysol or cleaning product. The dry down kicked in pretty quickly, with predominant notes of very fresh Pineapple (No it does NOT smell like Aventus or PVI), green Thyme, Vetiver, and Tonka beans, they all blended very well together, none of them really stood out from one another. The Lavender and other floral notes are the supporting roles, they're the balancing act here. This is quite neutral and definitely a unisex scent to my nose, it is neither too feminine nor masculine. On my skin, I've got moderate projection and sillage of 2hr, and average longevity of about 6 to 7hr. This one sits pretty close to the skin and kinda subtle, not a projection monster or a beast mode, far from it. I wouldn't hesitate to wear this to the office. Safe to be worn in Spring, Summer, and Fall. I can go heavier on the sprayer without choking anyone out, 5 to 6 sprays should be fine (both side of neck, back of neck, both inner elbows, and one on the chest and you're good to go. You can find them from discounters for about $100, which is a fair price. Great presentation, very nice and shinny wooden box, and the bottle is gorgeous!

Thyme is the polarizing note here. I first learned of Terre Aromatiques as being a vetiver-forward scent, which is something I’ve been searching for to add to my fragrance wardrobe. The thyme note made me hesitant to try it because while I like using this hard herb in cooking, I didn’t know if I wanted to smell like it. Upon initial spray, I immediately got the smooth vetiver I wanted. Cardamom dominates the opening but eventually mellows down. The pineapple pops up and then becomes part of the blend. The lemon is subtle, merely lending some brightness. As we move towards the heart, the thyme can be sensed, equally with freesia, with lavender supporting. The freesia definitely takes the edge off the aromatics and makes this traditionally masculine scent profile lean more unisex. In the drydown, the thyme note becomes more prominent as the freesia takes a backseat next to the vetiver, tonka and orcanox (ambergris). At this point, I’ve fallen in love with the thyme because instead of slapping me in the face at the opening, I’ve had some time to get to know it.

It's the best perfume that I've ever tried on the sweet vetiver theme. I had been spending time with him from the decant for 2 years and finally I bought a full bottle. In a summary; combination of cardamom (which reminiscent of cardamom in Kilian Intoxicated), a lavender and Tonka-vetiver combination is magnificent. Longevity is pretty good, it stays on the cloth for almost a day. Projection is close to the skin after 3-4 hours. Narciso for him, Hermes vetiver Tonka, fat electrician, cuir vetiver and vetiver golden vanille ... These are the sweet vetiver perfumes that come to mind, and none of them are for me, unfortunately. I have some in my collection, but I can say that I have never used them. I think I quite identified with Terres Aromatique, because after trying terres aromatique, I did not like any perfume from the same theme. I think I found my new signature perfume that I only use at home :) In addition, the box and presentation are pretty good. Roja and Clive only have such presentation quality. An amazing perfume for the price.

Aromatic,sweet Beautiful product of lalique.. On the top note it reminds intoxicated of by Kilian.(cardamon). I have bought it and I think the scent is so great. it starts with a herbal(cardamon) scent,then on base note it's different. new scent..Very reach, unique combination of Thyme and Pineapple, Tonka Bean and lavender,but isn't sine-tic.great It is a unisex perfume. I suggest it for males.(better) This product is appropriate for cold weather. I suppose it is a night perfume. The longevity is very well. The projection is medium. It's Very wearable scent.
