Terres Aromatiques

This garrigue-scented fragrance celebrates thyme as one of the the most iconic aromatic herbs of the Mediterranean. The lemon and pineapple opening top notes which is later blended with thyme in the heart, reminded me of a citrus sorbet garnished with the herb's delicate leaves. I feel this fragrance can easily be worn year round, but I plan on wearing it frequently this winter. As an "eau de parfum", its longevity and sillage are good, seeming to stay close to the skin in the dry down. 'Terres Aromatiques' can be certainly classified as a unisex fragrance, though I find it slightly more masculine leaning. The opening is quite short, with a blast of very pleasant and airy citrus for a few minutes, nothing offensive or sharp to my nose, certainly nothing like Lysol or cleaning product. The dry down kicked in pretty quickly, with predominant notes of very fresh Pineapple (No it does NOT smell like Aventus or PVI), green Thyme, Vetiver, and Tonka beans, they all blended very well together, none of them really stood out from one another. The Lavender and other floral notes are the supporting roles, they're the balancing act here. This is quite neutral and definitely a unisex scent to my nose, it is neither too feminine nor masculine. On my skin, I've got moderate projection and sillage of 2hr, and average longevity of about 6 to 7hr. This one sits pretty close to the skin and kinda subtle, not a projection monster or a beast mode, far from it. I wouldn't hesitate to wear this to the office. Safe to be worn in Spring, Summer, and Fall. I can go heavier on the sprayer without choking anyone out, 5 to 6 sprays should be fine (both side of neck, back of neck, both inner elbows, and one on the chest and you're good to go. You can find them from discounters for about $100, which is a fair price. Great presentation, very nice and shinny wooden box, and the bottle is gorgeous!

Thyme is the polarizing note here. I first learned of Terre Aromatiques as being a vetiver-forward scent, which is something I’ve been searching for to add to my fragrance wardrobe. The thyme note made me hesitant to try it because while I like using this hard herb in cooking, I didn’t know if I wanted to smell like it. Upon initial spray, I immediately got the smooth vetiver I wanted. Cardamom dominates the opening but eventually mellows down. The pineapple pops up and then becomes part of the blend. The lemon is subtle, merely lending some brightness. As we move towards the heart, the thyme can be sensed, equally with freesia, with lavender supporting. The freesia definitely takes the edge off the aromatics and makes this traditionally masculine scent profile lean more unisex. In the drydown, the thyme note becomes more prominent as the freesia takes a backseat next to the vetiver, tonka and orcanox (ambergris). At this point, I’ve fallen in love with the thyme because instead of slapping me in the face at the opening, I’ve had some time to get to know it.

It's the best perfume that I've ever tried on the sweet vetiver theme. I had been spending time with him from the decant for 2 years and finally I bought a full bottle. In a summary; combination of cardamom (which reminiscent of cardamom in Kilian Intoxicated), a lavender and Tonka-vetiver combination is magnificent. Longevity is pretty good, it stays on the cloth for almost a day. Projection is close to the skin after 3-4 hours. Narciso for him, Hermes vetiver Tonka, fat electrician, cuir vetiver and vetiver golden vanille ... These are the sweet vetiver perfumes that come to mind, and none of them are for me, unfortunately. I have some in my collection, but I can say that I have never used them. I think I quite identified with Terres Aromatique, because after trying terres aromatique, I did not like any perfume from the same theme. I think I found my new signature perfume that I only use at home :) In addition, the box and presentation are pretty good. Roja and Clive only have such presentation quality. An amazing perfume for the price.

Aromatic,sweet Beautiful product of lalique.. On the top note it reminds intoxicated of by Kilian.(cardamon). I have bought it and I think the scent is so great. it starts with a herbal(cardamon) scent,then on base note it's different. new scent..Very reach, unique combination of Thyme and Pineapple, Tonka Bean and lavender,but isn't sine-tic.great It is a unisex perfume. I suggest it for males.(better) This product is appropriate for cold weather. I suppose it is a night perfume. The longevity is very well. The projection is medium. It's Very wearable scent.

When I sprayed this perfume on my wrist, a beauty reside close by me, as a man. And my friend asked me, "how is it?" I replied calmly, "This perfume is made to tell a poem of elegant and deeply rooted lovely personality..." I will take one of this great design to join my collection... 9.5/10 is the grade I will give to this charming beauty; although it deserves 10/10 but years back my Finnish professor taught me that 10/10 we were giving only to God (That was before God's death...)

Something strong makes this herbal aromatic thyme scent a special black one,as it mentioned truley lying in the Lalique Premiere noir line. I think it has a subtle black character which is most likely suited for a black suite spy to wear in night, it works quick and sharp and then suddenly becomes disappear. Personally I enjoyed and adored this stuff. Well done Lalique again*************

Very accurate name . Leans masculine ,but it's a love ! Cannot wait til summer to find out what heat does to it. Bomb!

Pleasant herbal and citrus mix with a warmer base with the tonka and vetiver. As others have said, the pineapple isn't a dominant note and just lends a touch of sweetness to the earthy warm yet clean components. Discounted this is worth a pick up, presentation is stellar and it is decent quality. It doesn't match up to the two standouts in this line for a man though imho which are Or Intemporel and Fleur Universelle, those are almost reaching Guerlain L'Art et la Matiere levels of quality at half the price. So while this one doesn't quite reach those highs it's worth a punt if you want a versatile fougere/barbershop that's a touch different. It doesn't smell like Aventus, but people who enjoy that style of frag will probably enjoy this too.

Damn! I got a sample box-set this morning and this was inside. I adore Encre Noire, so was keen to try more, and always thought the notes in Terre Aromatique sounded intriguing. So, I'm sitting here sniffing the bank of my hand like its been surgically attached(!) - I smell a sense of Terre de Hermes.....but this stuff is waaaaaaaaay more refined (a little sweeter too). I've never spent over £100 on fragrances - this may change that, its THAT good.

Beautiful! Makes me think of a Terre d'Hermes on the sweet and smooth side with a hint Vetiver Extarordinaire (F.Malle). Very classy and versatile. Niche quality. Unfortunately projection is low, and becomes a skin scent after 2 hours... You can find it around $100 at online discounters, but given its low performance, I would tend to say that you can find much better around for that price. Anytime except winter, 30+

Mmmhhhh... the cardamom and vetiver notes are beautifully done! This is a slightly sweet, yet aromatic, fragrance that is smooth and surrounds you with a sophisticated aura. The only downside is the weak sillage, I really like the fragrance and I would love to get more than the occasional waft when wearing it. Even though the sillage is weak, the longevity on skin is around 8 hours and on clothes 12 hours and above.

This fragrance in almost great. However on my skin, there is something in the heart of this scent that just doesn't quite work and for this reason, this fragrance is just really good, not great. The good: (i) the opening is marvelous. A nice, bright lemon accompanies the spray on to skin and quickly fades, but not before a juicy but not overly sweet pineapple joins the opening. Cardamom emerges as the last citrus notes disappear and puts a lid on the sweetness that came with the pineapple. I guess now is the moment, fragrance trends being what they are, to state categorically that Terres Aromatiques is NOT even remotely like Aventus. Proof, then, that pineapple and Aventus copies are not inextricable. (ii) The basenotes here are also grand. The vetiver and tonka play off one another wonderfully. The vetiver is pronounced enough to subtly echo the note in Encre Noir and it's flankers without really smelling much like any of them. (iii) Finally, the presentation is beautiful--a reminder that Lalique first impacted perfumery by creating bottles for Guerlain and others. The bad: the lavender note here is produced with lavandin, or "French" lavender, not true, or "English," lavender. The difference between these two plant-derived oils is subtle, but, to simplify, some lavandin has a camphorous note not generally found in English lavender oils. On my skin, at least, this camphorous note is not well integrated with the thyme and florals in the heart of this fragrance. The notes feel like they are battling each other. The result is a medicinal and dusty smell that lingers for a while and really detracts from my enjoyment of this fragrance while it is present. This effect could well be a quirk of my skin chemistry, but I just can't get past it. I suggest you try to find a sample before buying a bottle to make sure this heart note situation is not a problem for you. This is a pretty darn good cooler weather scent even with the heart note issue, particularly for late fall in areas that enjoy 4 distinct seasons. It is totally unisex, shows considerable longevity and moderate projection. This fragrance never smells cheap or harsh, just intermittently poorly composed. I'll update this review if I find that this scent works better in summer heat and humidity. For now, I cannot recommend Teres Aromatiques, even at the steeply discounted prices it commands in the gray market.

I don't detect any sweet notes or flowers, only dry notes (I do think that thyme and cardamom) are the most noticeable notes to me followed by vetiver, anyway I am not in love with the scent (I am not too fond of woody spicy without sweetness scents).

It smells good. But that thyme not is real dominant.. its sweet fresh herbal gourmand barbershop-isj all at the same time.. longevity is where it falls. 4hours max.

Lalique Terres Aromatiques 1905 edp Overall it is a nice but not new smell for me. The note pyramide looks youthful but the scent doesn't. It would be nicer on older people, middle aged people to be more specific. Somehow it reminds me vividly the Chanel house. If I couldn't see the bottle I'd say that it's a high end scent from Chanel. Btw the bottle looks wonderful on shelf but when you hold it.. the feeling and the materials are average IMO. I can't comment on longevity because I washed my hand two hours later from the application. This liquid makes my skin itchy so I guess it's something that reacts nasty. Btw it's the first time that happens to me. And I've tried scents as cheap as 2usd chinese stuff and nothing happened. Anyway, it smells nice and chanelish. One thing I noticed is its stages of development. Until the 2 hour mark it changed 4 times. So it is quite complex scent but the vibe is quite generic. If you have experience with Chanel fragranes, both masculine and femine, you can imagine the vibe from this Lalique. The versatility is great. All year round use except extreme low/high temperatures. Nice for daytime and night. The sillage is moderate. The projection is average-moderate. After about 40-50 minutes it stays close to the skin. Two hours after the application is a nice skin scent. It retails here 438 usd per 100 ml.

If I was being extremely generous I'd talk about walking through a spice market, smelling spices and terracotta baking under the hot sun. But I'm not inclined to be generous. The pineapple is discordant in an otherwise generic spicy-woody men's cologne DNA. Save your money and buy something similar at the drugstore. Sillage and projection are high, longevity is good over 7 hours.

Terres Aromatiques is a rare fragrance, of those niche fragrances that maintain a popular appeal and yet still maintains a beautiful and strange dialectic between the notes used from side to side and from top to bottom. Terres Aromatiques is an aromatic fougere composed of crisp juicy fruit, dry herbal notes, and a more tame woody vetiver in the base which is echoed from their iconic Encre Noire paired with ambroxan which takes the fragrance to more crowd centric heights. The fruit in the opening upon first brush almost feel like a tropical take on an eau de cologne - bright lemon is tamed down by a heavier pineapple note, both of which have heavier herbal notes beneath them further selling the point. After just a moment the thyme really takes center stage with the camphor from the lavandin boosting its aromatic fougere feel. This Mediterranean feeling is made modern and popular through a mixture of the cardomom, tonka bean and the heavy ambroxan note here which never becomes cloyingly sweet nor does it remind one of Dior's infamous concoction. Ultimately, due to the synthetic notes and the name-dropping of traditional cologne/fougere structures, this fragrance feels firmly traditionally 'perfume'-y, although it has many new twists and turns that make it unique enough to keep you coming back. During fall, this fragrance is an obvious pick for anyone looking to impress, and draw an audience in. This is a perfect, snugly and yet elegant homerun for me. 9/10 YT: Jess AndWesh

Anticipation is a bitch..... Been big fan of Lalique for many years and I have several ones in my stash. When this line appeared I started craving one but they were far to expensive. Being a patient guy I decided to wait it out until prices dropped....my usual modus operandi when it comes to this brand. Fast forward.....found a bottle at a discount outlet and ordered one. It took a while but one day it arrived and the unpacking started. It was like opening a Russian doll, box after box, ending with a black lacquer box holding the amazing bottle. Put on a couple of sprays and.... what the xxxx.....a nauseating sweet concoction assaulted my poor nose, Tonka/pineapples/cardamom....the kind of scent a club kid puts on in abundance driving a fast car with techno music blasting...no offence though, each to their own! Luckily it only lasted about two hours. My first Lalique let down but it will look pretty on my shelf! Cheers Matz Ridderström Stockholm Sweden

This makes me think of a slightly toasted, slightly "candied" version of Invasion Barbare. It has lots of the lovely barbershop fougere-ey aspects of that scent--sweet coumarin and lightly green Veramoss/Evernyl, aromatic lavender and thyme, spicy cardamom. In fact, a lot of its profile is very reminiscent of MDCI's scent! That said, the citrus feels a bit more like a candied/burnt orange peel, lending a bit more of a licorice bent to the whole thing...in other words, pushing "Invasion Barbare" towards Lolita Lempicka Masculin. Pineapples thyme. This one whiffs between many notes, pineapples & thyme from one side, then the tonka lavander from another side, then comes the cardamom sour vetiver from a third side. I do believe that i sense some patchouli, geranium, and cedar. This one is a bit on the earthy side which was the era of "Habanita" by Molinard kind of fragrance but this one is a bit on the commonly masculine labelled kind of blends. Nice tho.

Aromatic Thyme with pineapple sweetening up the bitterness. Very natural smelling and its a clever composition with good longevity and quality but not in love with it as something I'm dying to wear. Glad I just bought the decant and not the full bottle. 7.5 / 10. Update: Wore this a few more times and I still feel the same. Ultimately, how you feel about Thyme as the leading note is the how you'll feel about this perfume.

Of the three Noir Premier i have Terre Aromatique is the one i like the least and use the most. Rose Royale and Elegance Animale possess a sense of gravity unfitting for common doings. Terre on the other hand I spray unceremoniously. The pineapple note gives Terre's aromatic structure a sunny fruity radiance. The composition is a quiet and quality ode to thyme. Really nice and easy to wear. ***(**)

Lalique Terre is amazing perfume from the line of Lalique premium collection. I would consider this for summers or for fresh day wear. It holds good lasting i.e 8-9 hours with decent projection (Not screaming ) The smell is very nice blend of pineapple and spicy notes to my skin. A crowd pleaser though. Win Win !!

Amber, orange, vanilla, chocolate. Something like candied orange zest coated with chocolate with golden flakes of vanilla and amber/cinnamon powder. Kind of fresh and sweet at a time.

Reminds me of some dessert or candies from my childhood. It is sweet and fruity. Would not wear this. It is too much like an orange candy.

For me, this is the best composition from Noir Premiere collection. Very well blended and natural.

Interlude vibes, but fresher less cloying and less sweeter. Much better to me.
