Zamak

Zamak open with some refreshing citrus and smooth pink pepper, it's light and inoffensive, doesn't pierce your nose like other mass appealing freshy out there. The nutmeg is quite subtle, more of a supporting role here to the Vanilla, orange blossom, and herbaceous freesia. The soft leather in the far dry down is noticeable, but not as pronounced as the Chypre Silver, but it certainly stands out more than the cedar. This is a class act, very smooth, well blended, and balanced juice, none of the notes are in your face. The Zamak seems to be more delicate than the Chypre Silver. I would wear this in Spring, Summer, and Fall. Performance-wise is average, the projection and sillage are pretty good, certainly not a loud scent, it's meant to be discovered and sits pretty close to the skin in the dry down. Longevity is average about 6hr on my skin. Zamak is an elegant scent but pretty chill at the same time, safe for the office or casual wear. I wouldn't hesitate to go heavier on the sprayers on this one.

This is nice, it reminds me of histoires 1899, but airier and maybe more introverted. It doesnt project hard but it lasts a long time on your skin (easily 10 hours on my skin), most of it after the 5-6 hour mark turns into a skin scent but it doesnt go away. I think this would be nice for spring, summer nights and early fall, either day or night wear. Overall my favorite from the line, with Silver following at a close second.

As with any Lalique men's scent I've worn (I suppose even the Encre Noires), there is an elegance, yet masculine and elite feeling about this fragrance that punches above its price. This is one of the few fragrances that really puts me in a certain place... I long to wear this on an early spring day where the sun is shining brightly but there's still that chill in the air that requires a medium coat, maybe even a scarf.

I tried all 5 perfumes in this collection and so far, I love ZAMAK. All 4 Lalique Les Compositions Parfumees were nice, but Zamak is the best. I didn't expect to purhase it, but i had to buy it - this is how much i love this parfum.... The first notes seems more like perfume for men, but heart notes and base notes AMAZING!!! They reminds me polish perfume that i had long time ago called CURRARA.

Zamak is a very well composed fragrance. Starts off with orange blossom, fresh and clean. In the dry down the spices mixes with the citrus. I smell a bit of vanilla as well. It is very comforting and it's the kind of fragrance that makes the wearer say "I smell amazing." Perfect for spring/summer.

Lovely scent, beautiful presentation. In the same category as hdp 1899, initio rehab, Spicebomb, man in black. Classy easy going powdery cinnamon kinda smell. Average performance.

My new fav scent but longevity is not good I have to re-apply every 2-3 hours. The box and the bottle are very nice and elegant

Underrated, reminds me of Kilian style boozy perfumes.

Definitely overlooked. I agree with what others said before me. It's well composed, not offensive and amazing. It opens fresh, with a sweet citric vibe and it has just a tad encre noire acidic/vetiver smell in the background for the first 5-10 minutes. From a distance you can smell the sweet and light orange blossom, vanilla and freesia. That part really 'hangs' in the air. The pink pepper is very noticeable in the beginning when the bergamot starts fading and makes room for the florals. It's at this moment I can separate from a close distance the sweetness of the mandarin which is so so nice. The vanilla is what ties everything together in that it is softly noticeable between other notes without dominating. In the dry down the spicy woods make place for a soft woodsy scent with some vanilla I still get some sweetness of the mandarin/florals. This just smells pure class but not in a dated/old way. This is what I imagine paper money would/should smell like.

This is a nice, reserved Spicy Woody with some muted Amber touches. Its quite similar to another fragrance I have in my collection, Salvatore Ferragamo La Commedia. La Commedia is harsher and a stronger performer, whereas Zamak is so soft it would make a good Office Scent. Both seem to manifest a cinnamon note, even though neither list it as a note. I guess nutmeg and pink pepper conspire to smell cinnamon-like. I found a bottle for $44 so I can probably sell La Commedia.

Inoffensive, smells nice and would work for the office as it sits fairly close and just gives off a clean light bubble around you. It is nice but a bit too nice for my nose these days, I want a bit more punch and originality. As a comparison to another in the lineup it is a little similar to Woody Gold in it's bright early opening, but I think Woody Gold is the better frag overall as it has more personality after the bright citrus clean start.

This does not remind me of metal in any way. Nutmeg and suede are most prominent, I think it leans masculine.

Smells like Dunhill Century with a slight anamalic difference.

I had high hopes for this one, after all I paid $50 for a $250 fragrance (niche price). It starts with a very nice citrus/pink pepper opening then lots of flowers in the mid, before it turns into a cozy/creamy, nutmeg/suede skin scent. I guess you can use it as an office scent, cause it will not bother anyone (kind of boring). The quality of the ingredients are good but for me this will shine more on females. It reminds me of the Dreamer for some reason.

Orange blossoms are hands down one of my favorite notes to explore in perfumery, and I even went through a period of heightened obsession when I was buying orange blossom-focused fragrances left and right, often blind. Zamak was one of those purchases, and oh boy, it’s good. It’s certainly centered around a beautiful orange flower, but this is a very unique take on the note. Throughout the entire composition, it remains distinctly spicy—sparkly pink pepper in the opening gives way to aromatic nutmeg in the heart. The base is oriental, with warm vanilla and the robustness of cedar. I don’t really pick up much leather, despite it being listed. Overall, this is a very warm fragrance that performs well in both heat and cold weather. Unlike some other reviewers, I don’t find it cloying, although it’s definitely sweet. I’m guessing Lalique’s higher-end Compositions Parfumées line didn’t perform as expected commercially, because I paid around $30 for Zamak and most of the line is similarly priced at discounters. For that price, this is an absolute gem to have in any collection. If you’re a fan of orange blossom and want something unique, sweet, and warm, give Zamak a try. Update: Did some digging, and apparently the nose behind Zamak is Dorothee Piot.

Had a chance to wear all 5 of the new fragrances from Lalique's new line. By far, this one is my favorite. I will agree with Rudolfo, as every time I wear this I find myself telling myself exactly that. "I smell amazing!" The Orange Blossom and Pink Pepper really pop out in the beginning. As it dries down, I smell a combo of vanilla with the still present Pink Pepper and spiciness. I wear it any time of day, and I would say it will most likely be great all year round. Longevity is about 6 hours, and the sillage is moderate. It is not an in your face kind of scent, it is more of a relaxing and refined aura. It is just amazing how all the scents mingle together and nothing has to be front stage. GREAT fragrance.
