Hypnôse Eau de Toilette

Sparkly fresh floral with a vanilla base - yes, pretty much the breakdown of the notes/accords. I have not tried the EDP- so unfortunately i can not compare. But this is nice and a safe blind buy.- however please note there is a sharp floral note that can and does finally blend into the vanilla. I too found my bottle at TJ MAXX.

Firstly, let me say that I love this perfume. It’s just beautiful. Secondly, it’s as weak as water on me. I spray it on and I can smell it for around an hour and then it completely disappears. To say that I’m disappointed is an understatement , I think I’ll have to try and find the EDP and go that a go.

This started off reminding me of Chopard Casmir- both have the tropical fruit top note, jasmine middle and vanilla base-but Hypnose goes in a totally different direction and has a totally different ending. Hypnose is a vanilla that can be worn in summer, a soft scent that would translate well to bath, body & home products. As this is an EDT it lasts for a heartbeat on me and I can reapply frequently. Nice to wear at bedtime. On a side note, I’ve realized that I don’t expect blue perfume to smell like vanilla or passion fruit. I think I expect more marine notes or air but just...not vanilla. Cool color/ warm scent? I don’t know. Like others, this was a TJMaxx purchase.

I bought to my mother and she hated it, doesn't last (about one hour). I find that it does resemble a lot the EdP but longevity is very bad and projection is huge ain the first 10/20 minutes than it becomes a skin scent suddenly and, in less than an hour, disappears. I would think that both mother and I were anosmic but the caretakers told the same story.

Ive been fanatically collecting Hypnôse fragrance/memorabilia since release in ‘05 and have had all its flankers at the center of my collection. To say Lancôme Hypnôse is my entire life would be an understatement; Another understatement would be that I absolutely detest this version. Ive tried in the summer, fall, winter, spring and no matter what, this is just instant cat pee every single time i wear it. Theres nothing redeemable, just dirty litter box. There must be a reason why the EDT bottles are so hard to find, and its because its awful. Thankfully it last no longer than an hour on skin. Ive had the same experience with the Eau Legere version as well, at least that one came in a pretty transparent case. Vanilla is the backbone of Hypnose DNA; the vanilla here is far too weak and muddled. Why would one wear this over the much better blended and widely available EDP?

Finally added, after it's been discontinued. Lighter, fresher version of the original. I used to wear it 10 years ago and loved it! One of the few bottles I actualy finished to the last drop. Have a closed bottle and I keep it for the memories it brings me.

I found a brand new bottle of this at TJMaxx tonight.
