Idôle Eau de Toilette

I randomly ended up falling in love with Idôle EDT while working in Sephora one Spring. Customers would spray the Lancôme counter with it daily, making it smell like a pink, shimmering cloud. I was enchanted. Boundless freshness and a sparkling cloudy sky. A decadently sweet pink heart, unmistakeably my favourite Damask. Hidden deep within, a woody base. This perfume is a delight to wear. Euphoric wafts of Green Tea, Bergamot, Musk and Damask follow you around playfully for hours and hours, painting a scene of pink paradise. Draw your nose close to the point of spray and find Cedar and Patchouli laying low, the stems and roots of the Rose growing in fluffy Vanilla instead of soil. The natural greenness which permeates this scent cannot be understated. It elevates the olfaction into the realm of "real", balancing out the squeaky-clean aspects of the perfume. An easy reach, universally liked and something you will be complemented on as the projection is akin to an EDP, while the lasting power could number days on clothes. A quintessential modern Chypre perfume, taking the beloved classic Damask and bringing it into the fantasy of modern times, Idôle EDT is exemplary of house Lancôme's perfumery and love for the Queen of flowers.

This light summer scent played such a big part of my summer - that I thought it should get the credit it deserves. I had to catch a fast flight to a family emergency & arrived in hot humid Miami without a single perfume. Soon feeling the need for the comfort that beautiful scent gives me, I picked up this recommendation of a light, fresh but slightly sweet summer EDT. I loved the lemon tea note on first spray & the addition of soft rose made it exactly what I wanted. It became my staple for 2 warm months. For a person who adores variety in perfume, I’m surprised to admit that this perfume never bored me. As an intimate light scent, it’s not overpowering in warm weather, but still lends a sweet scent bubble around the wearer for the good part of the day. It’s inoffensive & works well in close quarters. I’m happy to finally be back to more choice, but this EDT has proven herself as a summer ⭐️.

Phew. This is such an energizing fragrance. The bergamot and tea really stood out for the majority of me wearing this until the rose starts to peak. I really, really love this beautiful perfume. Perfect for Spring & Summer. 8/13/24 i finally got the chance to purchase as i reviewed this when I had a sample. The longevity is very impressive for it to be an EDT — definitely performed like a EDP. This stuck with me for about 7 hours or so. Sillage was moderate to strong (no lie, that tea and rose be THROWING) The tea note mellows the rose note so it’s not overpowering. Gorgeous summer and spring fragrance. You will get compliments and head turners. Edit 2: almost a year with this fragrance and for the first time ever, I smell something woody in this. It surprised me because I never got that while wearing this. Doesn’t bother me, but definitely shocked me

Original Idôle is of my go to parfumes. It is easy to use, when you just want fragrance what goes to the every situation. I really don't love any Idôle flankers, but this one surprised me. There is only just a little bit OG dna, but just enough, that I recognize this is Idôle. There is a hint roses, I can smell those on my skin. Start is fresh, tart and very uplifting. Then you can smell very faint rose scent. At the end it's still fresh, but also sweet. Vanilla is very prominent on my skin. I absolutely love it! It's perfect spring/summertime fragrance. I'm glad they finally made flanker what I love. It lasts my skin over 8 hours.

(I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review) I haven't been a big fan of the prior Idole flankers-- the reliance on vanilla as a primary note just struck me as a bit too sweet and dense for a rose fragrance. I'm glad Lancome took a different route with this. It is bright and fresh, thanks to the strong tea opening, without being too green. And the rose note-- I'm always on the hunt for a realistic garden rose note. This comes close.

I was chatting with the associate at Lancôme and mentioned I love the classic Idôle but would love something fresher for the heat. She immediately grabbed this for me, and it had to come home. This is a gorgeous, fresh rose scent. It has the same heart as the original Idôle, but with more zing and less sweetness. Perfect for summer in the Riviera.

LOVE. I'm one of the few individuals who adores citrus, green tea, and rose. The green tea note is strong here, which makes me happy. So fresh, bright, and clean. I'm so happy Lancome came out with this.

I am in LOVE with this! It reminds me of a fresh matcha bouquet. It is sweet but not sickly and syrupy or heavy. The green tea note is heavenly and is rounded out with the rose.

I did not know the eau de toilette Idole is so lovely. Wow. It somehow went under my radar. But I sniffed a bottle in Douglas and it was so refreshing, with a myriad of fresh notes, that I decided to use my sample today. It opens effervescently - a sparkling citrusy rose with clean musk in background and green tea infusion. As it is it reminds me of Fan di Fendi with this elegant mix of flowers, tea and citruses. Very refreshing but elegant. Very wereable, perfect everyday scent. If you miss Fan di Fendi - this should be your pick. I also came to like the look of the special, slim bottles. I think this 50ml bottle I picked as the tester was very stable. My 100ml Intense version is not, however. I have also the edp which I like for its everydayness, but this is a super fresh take on it, I might like it even more. I regret buying Intense instead of this citrusy take on Idole. It also reminds me of the great J'Adore L'Eau Cologne Florale with the intense green and fresh effect. A scent that I love. If you miss it, this should satisfy you. It lasts around 6 hours, 3 vivid, 3 of them rather shy. On the plus side, you can easily switch to evening parfume then. On heated body a shadow of it appears after 12 hours. Wear it when you want to feel energized and optimistic? Absolutely!

This is very pretty and also very different from original Idole, Now, Aura, and Nectar. It is closest to original Idole. It opens bright and loud with tea. The tea smells like a mix of jasmine and oolong to my nose. It is a little sharp, and the rose is blended in together. However, the tea is dominant. This opening is brief. The perfume quickly dries down onto my skin. Now it is mellow and more of an intimate scent to me. It is still rose melded seamlessly with tea. I would not call it a green rose though. I cannot pick out notes at this point. It is gentle, fresh, and floral. There is a hint of sharpness but not nearly as much as some rose or tea scents can have. A slight earthy sweetness lingers underneath. In its final stage, the bergamot is detectable. EDIT: This perfume lasts longer than I thought: 3-4 hrs moderate projection, then another 4-6 hrs for the intimate drydown. You'll have to spray more. It is calming and more of a spa scent. To me, it is full bottle worthy. I love fresh rose. I also like Yves Rocher Comme Une Evidence, which is light, and the edt version of Libre. Both of those are stronger than Idole edt.

2 things surprised me: 1. The hate for this perfume I see online 2. It seems to be a rose heavy perfume here. I love this! I usually hate rose perfumes because they give me a headache but this is so nice and fresh, juicy fruity with a touch of a youthful rose (water). The rose in this actually reminds me of my old love Moroccan Rose by The Body Shop. I can smell the green tea in this a lot which makes it such a nice freshie! Luckily I don't smell any patchouli. I get how people say this is generic but come on.. does every perfume need to be a one of a kind thing? Nowadays those one of a kind fragrances don't smell like anything I would want to wear (looking at Zoologist and other niche frag houses with the weirdest notes). However, this is a girly girl fragrance that is soft, feminine, happy, I would say also office friendly and great for each season. I would be glad to have the full size bottle in my collection. This is a very pretty, absolutely wearable fragrance!

Opens much lighter than the original with a tart, citrus opening. It reminds me of unwrapping a fruity citrus gum. Then, there’s something I can’t place mixed in with more classic Idole DNA but lightened. Once I read the notes, I realized it’s the green tea! I was not expecting this addition, but it’s perfect to bring a fresh and light feeling with some green. As it goes into the mid, I’m liking the tea note! It’s simple and mellow. This feels like a great choice for hot weather. I’m the drydown, musk and patchouli come out. It provides some texture and longevity. I think the patchouli and cedar come together to give it almost a mossy sent. My overall impression is that this is a great, lighter twist on Idole for hot weather with base notes that still provide longevity.

It’s pretty, green and spa like with the classic idole musk and rose. I have a travel size that I will use but no need to buy a full bottle. Idole the classic is still THE BEST. The bergamont and green tea remind me of a fancy summer hotel. Green, clean and fresh. On clothing this green opening will last longer. As it dries down, wow very beautiful. The classic idole musk and rose but more youthful. Very faint and the tiniest drop of vanilla. Prefect for the heat. I find idole classic to be too heavy for me on hot days. This is a great substitute. Also, the first time I sprayed this, it slightly reminded me of Jo Malone English pear and freesia. Only the opening.

This is a citrusy and green rose. The freshness in the opening comes mostly from the citrus notes, while the drydown is dominated by a high-pitched musk, so you definitely have to be a fan of musky fragrances to fully enjoy Idôle EdT. Words coming to mind are carefree, smart casual and sunny. The scent profile is by no means innovative or unique, but sillage and longevity are excellent for a fresh rose fragrance, which makes this a perfect candidate for outdoor activities. As with many musk dominated fragrances, the key to fully appreciate it is not to overspray.

I got this as a present and was very excited since I seem to adore everything Lancôme. This is different though. It's a very green, citrussy scent. The green I can see might come from the tea, and I can quite notice the bergamot. I do not notice the vanilla at all. It is not sweet. It smells like the juice of citrus fruit (not lemon) and herbs (tea- wise). Like fresh mowed grass and broken stems. I like this, and I think it's surprisingly well lived for an EDT, but it might underwhelm people who blind buy thinking it goes in the same Idole line.

This has amazing longevity for an eau de toilette! Soft rose and musky dry-down with citrus and soft tea notes in the beginning (first 1-4* hours). I would say the tea note didn't last long, so if you're looking for a pure citrus tea scented perfume, you may not like this as much. Friend told me it smelled like Shampoo! The bottle is sleek and beautiful with light-gold hardware. Easy to hold in your hand while you spray! A nice professional/office setting scent. *Sprayed 7A.M.,

Really pretty summer scent for rose lovers, The tea and bergamot top notes are so refreshing and sparkly. Too bad the tea especially doesn't seem to last long after the initial burst. Very nice warm weather alternative for fans of the OG Idole though. For me, as in the OG and in the Intense version - both scents that I otherwise really liked - the patchouli is just too pronounced in the drydown to make this a truly comfortable wear, so I will pass.

The green tea note is nice and strong, but it clashes with the jammy rose early on. The bergamot note could have been a bit stronger, too. On the other hand, neither the patchouli nor the vanilla notes dominated this scent so you actually get to experience most of the other notes here. I liked it overall and would recommend it as a casual warm weather scent for green tea and rose lovers, but I prefer the original Idôle.

I find the green tea note to be very forward in this one! I don't really get any of the roses in this even though they're there; it has practically none of the DNA of the original. Because of that, original Idole is still my love. <3 BUT! If none of the flankers jived with you and you like musky, citrusy perfumes kinda like D&G Light Blue or even Versace Turquoise, I think you'd like this one.

This is a pleasant fresh EDT for spring and summer. The opening is a really fun, fresh green tea and citrus. It was quite nostalgic for me as it actually reminded me of citrus-flavored Lipton green tea in the plastic bottle. Longevity was about 4-6 hours with minimal projection. It dries down to a nice creamy, vanillic, yet fresh, skin scent. Nice and inoffensive for the gym or office.

Very pretty, fresh, and uplifting. I bought it for my 19-yo daughter and it smells wonderful on her. Very age-appropriate for college girls. This perfume is a "not a girl, not yet a woman" type of fragrance. More sophisticated than the body sprays marketed to them but not quite to full niche fragrance status. The slim profile bottle is also very nice on the vanity.

Did I just spray Indigo by Nest? No, it can't be... here comes a very agreeable and soapy rose note. Green tea and vanilla...making me daydream about green tea mochi. This fragrance is perfect for a warm spring day. Projection is good. By the end I forget if I am wearing Idole Nectar or Idole EDT.

Idôle Eau de Toilette Lancôme (Store test, paper test) Fresh dew rose, watery tea effect, musk. This is quite nice actually, light in style but full body. Even a scent seems a bit not detail but very functional. Nice floral fragrance for younger age maybe (<25?) or weekend. This one is ok. 7/10

This is similar to La Vie Est Belle Rose Extraordinaire. This is more citrus and green, but you can smell the signature Lancôme rose in both. This is a great perfume for hot summer/spring days. While Rose Extraordinaire is more sweet, this stays fresh with the citrus and tea. I enjoy both!

Did not like ANY of the previous Idoles but this one is so so good. A cold, bitter, tea scent with some soapy rose. I love it for summer.

This is PERFECT for the spring. It is definitely clean but with that floral touch. It smells like green tea + a light pink rose.

A lighter and fresher summer version of classic Idole which is a bit heavy for hot and humid days.

A very boring, plain mix of rose, tea and vanilla, with a pinch of citrus in the opening! Yawning already??? Me too, Idole EDT is beyond average, both as scent quality and as performance. Why was this flanker necessary to exist nobody knows, but at least it’s cheaper than the other Idole flankers. And weaker!! I rest my case, there’s nothing to save this in my eyes from being an instant pass. And then to think that Lancome decided to discontinue Idole L’Intense just to release this...Why???!?!?

A good and feminine bright and bold perfume. Clean but teafresh. The rose makes it feminine and warm. Sprayed it on my wrist in the shop. I got a compliment from my daughter 10 years, when i hugged her two hours later. Near the drydown it gets a little sweeter and it smells like green tea with jasmin and a tad Vanilla. It is very shy but almost gourmand. Then it gets a tad powder in green tea. It last on me 12-16 hours maybe more!

According to how it smells, this could have been in a light green bottle. I was expecting it to smell similar to the original but it's less intense and absolutely different. The green tea is dominating the whole perfume and I can smell the combination of it with citrus. A late spring-summer perfume for sure.

Started with a fresh and clear green tea note & it got sweeter and sweeter throughout the day. At the end (8hrs?), I was left with sweet powdery notes. Very lovely! Bonus, it reminds me of Romance (Ralph Lauren) in a good way! Can't wait to add this perfume to my collection :)

It's a beautiful scent on paper. However, after wearing it (almost daily) for several months, it's safe to say that this perfume is simply not for me. Will keep using the small bottle I have, but won't buy it again.

After having this some time I fine that I never use this. I try to, but it is loud and good. It is also a very cold scent and annoying! And longlasting. Clean maybe.

Not for me, the geen notes are too strong. I prefer Idole Nectar and original Idole.

This is surprisingly strong for an EDT, while still being super fresh. On that note, I absolutely hate how green this is. It was WAY more green than I honestly anticipated. It's actually headache inducing for ME. The green aspect reminds me so much of the greenness in the original fragrance, haiku by avon. This is a green/rose/powder dominant fragrance. The rose here isn't jammy, but it is a tad fruity. It's very fresh and VERY green. It reminds me a lot of how, rose water smells. You ABSOLUTELY pick up on that green tea. I get the green tea more than anything. If you're not a fan of green, powder or rose, then you may end up disliking this. I would highly suggest sampling first. This would work very well for spring, summer, and fall. I can't believe how strong this is for a fresh fragrance. The mild sweetness in this becomes more prominent as it sits on the skin, longer and longer. I just wish there was more sweetness from the very beginning, and not just in the mid to dry down. Personally, I'm not a fan. I just don't like green dominant Fragrances. But does this mean it's bad? Not at all. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ An edit: if you are worried about performance issues DON'T BE! I sprayed this on un-moisturized skin, at 1:00 pm, at 5:30 I couldn't stand the smell ANY longer and I had to wash this off. Every single time moved, I could smell this. I was in a VERY prominent scent bubble. I did NOT spray my clothes, but this stuff stuck around like glue! Any area of skin that had the fragrance on it, I could smell on my clothing. Another edit: It's been two days since then, and I can STILL smell it on my old clothing! PERFORMANCE 10/10! I'm absolutely shocked that this is only an EDT! It absolutely performs like an EDP.

I bought a sample of this because people were raving about this. I don't like it. I think I don't like this kind of flower perfume. It's flowers, flowers, flowers. I smell like a room spray. No sincerity, just fluffiness. It also smells old like old-fashioned and sour. I will bring this to work because some women like this kind of flower. Someone will be happy with this. Disgusting

The initial scent is nice and bright but it quickly turns bitter... not the prettiest tea scent, would not recommend... it reminds me a lot of Mon Guerlain Bloom of Rose edt, it has the same herbal toothpaste meets rosey soap feeling

I’m not a fan. I find it harsh, with a lot of patchouli and musk in the base. The green opening is quickly fleeting and it becomes a rather sharp rose with patch. Impressive longevity for an EDT.

Lasts for eternity, and when I say it is THE most headache inducing thing I've ever had the displeasure of smelling (for fucking HOURS), I really do mean it. It probably is because of a certain note that I apparently despise however I cannot for the life of me tell which one it is because I'm not that good with remembering how some specific things smell (yet) but at least I'm sure that it's not the vanilla, cedar, or musk; none of which I can actually smell on myself.

I've been looking for a new scent for Spring and Summer so I ventured to the mall and went to the Lancome counter. The saleswoman sprayed Idole Aura on my left wrist and asked me to try the new IdoleToilette on the right. The Aura definitely had the salty beach vibe on me, and the Idole Toilette was different than the other Idole's, it's brighter and fresher. It has a green tea note that is very prominent and it stayed with me while the salty note is much more subtle. However, I've discovered I don't like salty notes. By the time I got home the Aura had faded quite noticeably but the Toilette was still quite strong. I used cleansing balm and scribed with soap and I could still smell the tea note in the Idole Toilette! Long story short, The Idole Toilette is beast mode.

This is not my cup of tea. I received a sample gratis from Lancôme with low expectations; Lancôme hasn’t had any hits for me. Regardless, I kept my fingers crossed. I get clear whiffs of percolating green tea, effervescent bergamot and hints of sweet vanilla at the base (that you need to sniff really hard to uncover). There is heaps of rose, not the jammy variety, but very floral, and my nose picks up a little bit of something jasmine-like (though it’s not listed). This is not a heavy fragrance; it’s light, sparkling and bright. My complaint is that Idole EDT is very “perfumey” for my taste. It’s sharp. It’s headache inducing. I could never wear this. But I do think this will be a popular scent with the ultra-floral, rose-loving crowd.

My partner liked this right away, he was surprised cus he normally doesn’t like florals. But to my nose it very obviously smells like green tea, with a small pouring of rosewater & just enough bourbon vanilla to give it a sweetened edge. Maybe the lightest squeeze of bergamot. So I would say check it out even if you aren’t a floral fan. I have been looking for yummy tea scents without lavender & this fits the bill totally. Libre EDT was the complete opposite of what I wanted. I kinda hope this one is unpopular so I can pick up a big bottle for way under retail. 🤭

If you like tart, fresh rose scents than you will appreciate this flanker. It is not sweet like the other Idole editions. This one would fair best in hot weather and I think if you live somewhere it gets very hot (like me, I live in the hottest place in the US) I think you could still wear this one and it would work. I love tart, fresh rose scents with a slight fruity freshness and this one certainly has that quality. If you like the tart freshness but find it to be on the sour side for you, try Idole Now because it is a hybrid between the EDP and the EDT.

I just got a super small sample of this recently in the mail from those sampletok ads on TikTok. IM OBSESSED! I need the full bottle. I haven’t smelled any other idole fragrances not even the original but I think I need to now!! But first I need to get a full bottle of this, I just love how feminine it is!! I think this would be a great daily scent!

This smells good but in a generic department store perfume kind of way. Objectively good but so painfully generic. It reminds me of a boring corporate mum in her 30s-40s. It smells good though. The green tea is fun. Ok it smells really good actually. Wait it smells so good tho now im torn 😭

This reminds me of the 2012 version of Miss Dior. Citrus, kinda tart, with rose and patchouli. This is just a lot heavier on the rose and not as tart. Honestly, I like 2012 Miss Dior way better!

A lovely, light mix of rose and green tea. It's probably the tea lover in me but I actually wish the green tea note was a little more prominent, but this is still very pretty.

To me this flanker has nothing to do with the original Idole. I don't smell roses at all, it's mostly a green tea fragrance. I stick to the original and the Idole Intense.
