La Vie Est Belle Rose Extraordinaire

Love,love,love this perfume. I've never received so many compliments on any perfumes that I've worn except this one. I have tried the original la vie est belle, which I also like, but this is just blows the original out of the water. It's strange because I'm not a lover of rose scents,but for some reason the rose in this one is just amazing. I first tested it in boots ,loved it but tried it again and finally bought it at the airport for £80. I'm very guilty of getting it wrong, so I'm a bit more cautious these days 😅 this fragrance is my favourite at the moment and as soon as it's finished, I shall be buying another! It's definitely a summer perfume, and I would say suitable for day & 🌙 night. On first application I get notes of rose along with ,pink gin !! But as it settles down,the woody notes start to emit that warmth ,making it night-time worthy. I love the longevity of this scent, it lasts for hours, which justifys the price tag, unlike some other designer fragrances. It's a strong perfume, some may find it too overwhelming, but I can't get enough of it 😃

This is a love for me! I get the burst of citrus, green, rose in the beginning, but then it thickens up & I get a sweet, yet fresh/airy rose, over a THICK layer of sweet candied iris and sweet but well blended Ambroxan! It's hard to decipher each note, but it's syrupy, sweet, fresh, and candied. I'm the middle it's mostly that sweet candied iris whipped iris, with a fresh rose and a sweet Ambroxan base, as it dried down I get the rose/iris perfectly mixed, I pick up a HINT of the green note, but i kind of think it's a sweet oakmoss. Idk but it's honestly beautiful. It could be worn year year but spray lightly in the summer. It will remind you of hot summer or spring days in the winter, but this is perfect for spring & fall! It's feminine, sweet, fresh, syrupy, and addictive. It's fresh, and sweet, youthful, yet mature and sexy. This & the other one with the iris & coco butter note, are my top 2 favorite la vie est belle flankers! So pretty, I need a whole bottle!

This iteration of LVEB gives a Trésor-esque vibe... I smell this on my wrist and I am transported back to when I was a teenager, everyone was wearing Trésor de Lancôme!! This has strong fruity notes, to my nose. Peach, berries, a vibrant bit of pepper at the top and of course, roses. A million of them!! Stem, petals, leaves, thorns and rose oil too. It’s so strong!!! But it’s delightful and invigorating! Thank goodness, there’s no sweetness (other than the fruity notes) because it would become cloying and too heavy. And there’s no patchouli either and I am grateful for that as well! Brutally strong, this isn’t your delicate rose scent. It leaves a trail and you will always be found if you play a game of hide and seek wearing this frag 🤭 This is a frag for hardcore rose lovers. I love it but this isn’t for the faint of heart! Very rose forward flanker that stays true to the heart of the original, even though it has a litte less depth and isn't just as gourmandy. Opens super sweet - the way we fans love it ; ) then settles down into its flowery nest. The rose has different facets. There's the rosewater, which together with iris lends a clean freshness. Then there's a more processed rose, like beautiful candied petals, sugar frosted at the edges - the way you might imagine them in a luxurious winter ad or delicately perched on top of fancy pastries and cakes. Rose Extraordinaire lasts for hours, but when it starts to fade, the rose is the first to disappear. I used to love L'Elixir even more after sampling it in summer 2024, but I was disappointed when I bought a travel-size bottle in Spring 2025. So, I have to revise my opinion: Rose Extraordinaire is now my favorite flanker.

This is what I call a “true rose” scent, without the fuss and distraction of other notes detracting from the star ingredient, the way La Vie Est Belle En Rose suffered. Instead, with LVEB RE I get the pure bliss of an intense rose hit like pressing my nose against a rose to inhale all its earthy goodness without the drama of all those complex layers often found in LVEB perfumes. Alongaide the original LVEB, this is Lancome’s best invention! It’s now my go-to for romantic nights, a little decadence on the weekend tucked up in a cozy spa robe on a rainy Sunday afternoon and evokes fond memories of cool summer evenings, as the sun sets. This is a truly remarkable scent in its daring simplicity, the way it combines the top and base notes to perfectly balance the rose notes while keeping the rose notes the star attraction.

La Vie Est Belle Rose Extraordinaire by Lancôme is currently my favorite flanker from the LVEB line. I’ve tested most of them over the years, but in my collection, I’ve only truly owned two: Intensément and this one. While the intense version was something I grew to appreciate slowly, Rose Extraordinaire was love at first sniff. The rose here is absolutely stunning, elegant yet fresh, wrapped in a beautiful blend of soft woods, iris, moss, and a whisper of musk. The opening with orange and bergamot adds just the right touch of brightness before settling into that dewy floral heart ... It’s romantic, graceful, and somehow feels grounded too, with those green and woody elements. A beautifully done modern rose. Also the bottle is so pretty. – Bhavna Darira Chesan

Oh what a lovely fragrance! It is a sweet, sugary, slightly fruity rose. The musk and the ambroxan in the dry-down are really prominent, but not in a BR/Cloud kind of way. It's bright and joyful and suitable for any age and any occasion. It's a very modern fruity rose fragrance with a musky dry-down. Extremely feminine, very different from the OG. The sillage is moderate, projection strong in the first hour, but the longevity is incredible. It lasted on my shirt for a week and I didn't have to stick my nose to it to smell it. If you've got the chance, try it, even if you don't like florals. You might be pleasantly surprised. Definitely a safe blind buy. I'm really enjoying this one a lot.

At first, the orange and bergamot come across as a bit sharp. Even though I hate sharp scents, I love this sharpness. As it settles on you, that sharpness fades. The citrusy and juicy scent of orange blends with the scent of rose. Thanks to the ambroxan, musk, and sandalwood coming from the base, you can sense a light wet wipe scent. A rose-scented wet wipe. It is then balanced with woody notes. As you can see, it is a truly sophisticated perfume. One of my favorites. If OG doesn't appeal to you, you can check this one out. It has a more floral-woody balance compared to OG. I also like its projection and longevity.

This is a very beautiful rose perfume, it lasts on skin with moderate projection, for me after 20 h i could still feel it on my hand. Bottle i found that it is refillable. This is nice because i find it absolutely gorgeous. This reminds me of the rose used in Oui La vie est belle and in the edt La vie est belle en rose, better lasting than both of them, as i tested them all side by side. Sparkling, like those fresh roses used for jam. A bit more mature than the rose used in Lancôme Idol, and very deep and a bit vanillary , not watery. I recommend this for rose lovers, it is a good spring-summer scent.

This perfume is all about sweetened, almost syrupy-like roses. It actually reminds me of Idole Now by Lancome, but RE is a little bit on a softer side. I don't really get the La Vie est Belle DNA here, at least not on my skin. I'm actually surprised how different it is from the OG. The longevity and sillage are very good, just like it tends to be with the Lancome perfumes in general. Beautiful bottle. :) Nice, feminine perfume, good for spring, datetime, cheerful, optimistic vibes. Elegant. I'm glad to have it in my La Vie est Belle Collection, especially when it's that different from the OG.

I’ve come to the defense of this LVEB flanker... It is as gorgeous as its bottle in my personal opinion and I pray to the fragrance gods that the LVEB snobs won’t get this flanker discontinued because of low sales. It’s a modern, fun, juicy rose fragrance. I don’t have the og LVEB bottle but I have sampled them side by side, and to me this is less cloying, less harsh or sharp compared to the original. This is gives a younger vibe compared to iris absolu as well. It’s pretty good and I would definitely advise (as I do with other popular perfumes) don’t knock it til you try it.

*tested with a sample for a purchase* Honestly, I found it a bit strange when first applied to the skin, but only for a few moments and then it changes, opening with a precious sugared red rose on a spring morning, with the dew drops still shining on its newly opened petals. It reminds me of the original formulation of LVEB EN ROSE (2019) when that was the most delicious thing I had ever smelled with roses. I think I will buy it later, since EN ROSE was (first) reformulated and a few weeks ago its complete discontinuation was announced.

Beautiful! My favorite from La Vie Est Belle line. I am not a fan of LVEB, on the contrary, but this is gorgeous, femininity in a bottle. Smells so similar to Parfait de Roses or Roses Barberanza, but more wearable. Powdery, candied, flirty, feminine roses, the iris is also quite bright, earthy and green. This is very potent and noticeable fragrance, I don't recommend spraying it for closed small spaces. Every lover of lipstick-y perfumes should test this. It's your classic rose+iris softly jammy.

Bought for holiday after receiving a sample as I love the lightness and freshness the rose enhanced by the citrus brings to this without the headache other rose fragrances induce in me. It also balances the sweetness of the original La Vie Est Belle DNA, meaning it's a less controversial and a more mature fragrance and without being cloying. Still sweet but fresher and a little earthier due to the base notes. Hoping this will perform well in the heat without being a typical sunscreen fragrance.

One of my dearest friends decanted a sample for me or I'd never have known what I was missing. If going only by the notes here, I would've thought, "too green.. pass". Instead, this smells like ROSE Gummy Bears. Imagine their light sweetness with a powdery exterior, you bite into them and instead of being individually fruit flavored, you're met with a juicy rose that has a touch of Gummy Bear citrus. Warm, sweet floral with Dior-esque dry down. Immediate love for me.

I got this in the mail today and OH MY GOD! I am in love with this fragrance. Lancome never disappoints and this one delivered, I can't even smell the LVEB DNA on this - it's just a beautiful classy Rose scent, a bit powdery but totally classy. It's like walking around the fields of rose with a hint of sweetness all over you. This will definitely be my Spring Perfume of choice. I love this more than Iris Absolute for sure. Don't walk..Run and get this new flanker.

such a beautiful take on the original LVEB. the original dna is still there, but the scent is spun in a more citrusy, rose-forward way. i love most rose perfumes and LVEB is dear to my heart so i'm not surprised i enjoyed this flanker so much. the bottle is also gorgeous.

Can never decide if I like this or the original LVEB better. I can’t choose they are both sublime. Back up bottle worthy. Perfect autumn/spring wear. Always makes me think of a romanticized Paris or formal English garden, and ballet.

Oh my, candied rose including the stems! Reminds me of candied angelica my mum would use to put on cakes when I was younger. Simply beautiful, I am gutted I didn't buy the 100ml. I can't get over how gorgeous it is.

This is such a nice, sweet, rosy and even a little bit smokey scent! The bottle is super cute in my opinion. I actually loved it so much that I wore it on my wedding.

One of my all time favorite perfumes. I love rose. If you don't, steer clear. It is very sweet and rose forward. If you spray too much it can be cloying.

Hands down, this is my favorite flanker of LVEB and one of my favorite perfumes! A must have. It’s perfect! Floral and sweet.

Super heady and intense rose unlike something like idole which is fresher

This is a regal rose fragrance. I just love it.

To begin with, I have the OG LBEB and it has been my signature for years. I also have several LVEB flankers, Tresor Midnight Rose, Idole and Tresor A la Nuit. In this lady, the rose and the iris are perfect and polite. I’m glad this has Iris and not Violet. I don’t get the plastic lipstick makeup smell that my skin pulls with violets. Some have compared this and said that there’s a similarity to Tresor Midnight Rose. I have both and I do not think they smell similar. TMR is too much raspberry for me and I get the powdery makeup lipstick vibe with that one. La Vie Est Belle Rose Extraordinaire is pretty, softly spoken and polite. Ageless and depends on what each woman covets in a fragrance. This bottle is lightly sugared gummy bears in a bowl next to rose scented jam. Not the rose water type of scent that you would get drinking a cup of Persian tea. This is more sweet than realistic. This frag is also a total departure from the OG. No sticky syrupy rosey patch. No dirtiness. No misbehaving. This is not lush or deep or promiscuous. . This is a little too prim and proper for me. I could see myself layering this with something that has a dirtier grip but feel there is something lacking at its core.💕. **If you hate patch or despise the OG,I would recommend trying this. Must love roses!!

Edit - I'm decluttering. It's been 4 months and the sharpness hasn't faded. I don't want to have to put in effort to like a perfume. This is too similar to Tresor Midnight Rose. Coach Wild Rose is better than this. I just got my bottle yesterday and haven't had the chance to compare to a tester that was been open for a while. This opening is quite sharp, but not in a bad way. It is reminiscent of the opening from Elie Saab Girl fo Now Forever with that citrus punch and Tresor Midnight Rose with the raspberry. But underneath all that theres a warmness to the rose like that of Coach Wild Rose and that's what this is reminding me of the most. I'm quite happy with this flanker and I do think it's a safe blind buy provided you like that sweet/sour combination with your rose. I will update the review as my fragrance ages as I'm sure the sharpness will fade over time. In terms of comparisons with others in the LVEB line, this is different to En Rose which is more powdery and pot-pourri like (probably my favourite flanker). Flowers of Happiness was targeted at the south east Asian market wand was much more noticeably softer. Rose Extroardinaire is quite strong compared to that and is more reminiscent of En Rose.

This isn't terrible, but it reminds me more of YSL Paris than it does LVEB and the flankers of it that I have smelled (LVEB en Rose; LVEB Iris Abolu; LVEB L'Extrait). The rose has a very '80s aspect, which I enjoy very much, but I don't think it's all that pleasant on the drydown. It starts out a bit musky-powdery rose--the part of the experience that reminds me most of YSL Paris--but on the drydown I get a kind of salty effect that I don't enjoy very much. I suspect it might be ambroxan, which seems to be one of the ingredients that the other LVEB flankers, the ones I really like a lot, lack (unless I missed them). Anyway, this is quite good, and I like it, but I'm glad I just got a sample with purchase because I think I would be disappointed if I blind bought a full bottle. I also think there are much better LVEB flankers; my favorites are Iris Absolu and L'Extrait, but I haven't smelled them all. I do like LVEB Rose Extraordinaire, but it's not really distinctive enough to warrant the purchase for me, the owner of far too many rose perfumes (Guerlain Nahéma reigns supreme, the queen of the queen of flowers, at least as far as I'm concerned).

*Update* So this turned on me. I still love the rose aspect of this perfume, but the praline note from original La vie est belle, has become way too overpowering in this. It ruins the whole perfume for me. It's just way too much of that darn praline note. Bummer. I struggle to find a rose perfume that I like, I don't particularly enjoy roses with too much citrus. And I am not a fan of Delina. I am not well versed enough in rose scents to exactly put my finger on what makes a good rose scent for me. But this is absolutely lovely to my nose. It's not too citrussy. I get a fresh dewey rose and rose water. It is somehow fresh yet also very sweet. Almost a bit too sweet, especially on warmer days. I love La nuit tresor and it's many flankers and I feel that this rose is similar to the rose in those. It does not have the La Nuit tresor DNA but it does remind me of them. I used to own Moschino Toy2 bubblegum and this smells like that, without any of the bubblegum or candied notes. It lasts really well on my skin and can be smelled the next day. I'm sure that rose lovers might find this boring or redundant but I guess I like my rose scents that way :)

Edit: I have now owned this for a while, and I love the rose aspect of it. But something has started bothering me. It's that darn La Vie Est Belle praline in the drydown, I cannot get along with that praline. So this was initially a love, but now more of a like, and I will not be buying a new bottle once this one is done. So glad I gave this a sniff. I normally despise LVEB. But this is really nice. This does not remind me of LVEB at all. It's a pretty simple and sweet rose fragrance. Imagine Moschino Toy 2 bubblegum but without the bubblegum hehe. I imagine a lot of people will find it a bit boring or maybe too sweet? But I don't enjoy fresh or soapy rose scents, so this is my type of rose. Plus there is just something about the Lancome rose that I really enjoy. It's very pleasant. I sprayed it on a tester 2 days ago and it still smells amazing. Quality seems to be quite good. Not sure I would pay full price for it though, as designers have become very pricey. I would for sure pick it up, if I find the right deal.

This has such a yummy, jammy fruit-rose opening! It actually deviates a lot from the original LVEB; you don't get any non-rose florals at all (or patchouli, but I now see it's not even mentioned for this flanker) for a good 1-1.5 hours. The top notes last quite a while, and it's somewhat like Lush's Rose Jam but not quite as heavy or imposing. Rose Extraordinaire manages to keep it a bit lighter. After about 2 hours the typical iris-praline-patchouli base starts to creep through, but strangely enough that's not its final evolution - it does indeed dry down further to a woody ambroxan base. Longevity was about 5 hours, though I only sprayed it on the back of my hand, no doubt it'd last longer with a proper application. Silage however was an entirely different beast - that opening PROJECTS! It settles down around the 2hr mark. Will I buy? If they eventually release a 10ml of this I'll snap it up, otherwise no. LVEB is my mother's signature so I'm too bored of the DNA to consider a full bottle unfortunately!

In my opinion, the original La Vie Est Belle DNA is still very much recognizable in Rose Extraordinaire. It smells like sugared roses were added to the original fragrance and musky facets were amped up a bit. This flanker is very potent and I accidentally oversprayed the first few times, so I understand that it can easily become overbearing if not sprayed with caution. Even though roses are at the forefront, it is not a classical light, flowery and airy fragrance, but rather heavy and syrupy. However, my favorite part comes hours after application: my clothes that have come in contact with the fragrance suddenly smell like Burberry Her. Looking at the “reminds me of” section here, I am relieved to see that it is not just my imagination. What a wondrous and unexpected twist!

I think it is perfect for autumn and winter. Possibly spring though I was wearing it with the same success in summer. Just thought it too strong. It is a rose confiture that somehow retains freshness of the petals thanks to bergamot and orange that are really good up close. Green stems also break through the sweet rose confiture. It makes a big impression and is quite a diva. One spritz is enough though I used 3 today just because it is cold. The bottle is gorgeous too, which is important to me. Extraordinaire! I love the scent but it does not change with time. I contantly feel all the notes. It becomes tiring. My favs slowly evolve. This does not. I am lowering it to like. In a way it smells like a work in progress on a way to develop a perfect formula.

This is a light and airy rose perfume, more grown up than the rose in Idole (but not at all old lady wibes) It smells like a bouquet of roses, and the smell of the green stems are quite prominent, and beautiful. Compared to the LVEB En rose EDT, the Rose Extraordinaire is much more airy and green (smelled side by side, the En rose is almost thick in comparison). You can smell the LVEB DNA in the Extraordinaire, but its in the background. This is a good edition to the LVEB family, but Lancome have done quite a lot of rose perfumes by now, so I really hope they'll venture out more on the next LVEB flanker. The Iris Absolue is the BEST ONE in my opinion, I really hope the never discontinue that one, and the L'extrait was really great too.

How on planet earth can there be 1 negative review about this lovely scent! First of all the design of the bottle is so pretty🌹 This is by far the best rose perfume ever created. Elegant, sweet, classy, fresh Its a sugar glazed sweetened rose petals, if that's even a thing Most rose perfumes would dry down to an annoying cloying almost expired rose but NOT this one, this stays aquatic fresh through out its development. Picture rose petals floating in water inside a clear oval glass bowl. Must be the stem greens notes mentioned above. Is there a DNA of the OG ? Mmmmmm I'm not sure, this does stand out with a personality of its own, maybe at the very very dry down you can scence just a drop of the OG.

I reeaally like this perfume. With the amount of rose in it, I was skeptical that it might smell too mature and powdery, but this fragrance is playful, super sweet and fresh. This has to be one of my most complimented perfumes, and I can still smell it for days and days after spraying on my clothes. Not as heady and suffocating as the OG LVEB (which I loved as a teenager but as I got older I found it more and more headache inducing), but a fresh and fun twist. It’s along the same lines as Dior’s Blooming Bouquet imo but much sweeter and better silage. I wear them in the same way: to the office on a sunny spring day, or out for a light lunch where I want to smell fresh, girly and clean.

this is a lovely rose that is quite ageless and wearable. it's very sweet on the first spray like every LVEB flanker but the rose is a bit on the dry side, kind of like the Chloe rose, which I love. You can definitely smell the iris and musk as it dries down but the woods are faint and you get mostly a lightly sweetish dusty rose in the dry down. I am so close to picking up a bottle of this but like others have mentioned, it isn't a groundbreaking rose especially if you have many in your collection. It feels like a very classic rose perfume layered on top of LVEB which is a lovely concept if not the most original. I am reminded of Petit Cherie by Goutal

Hmm, I'm not a big fan of this kind of sweet fragrances, but there is something alluring in LvB rose extraordinaire. Someone mention that the opening reminds them of candy lychee and I must admit that I can smell it too, the dry down is more rose (which I really like). I believe in my case it's not my everyday go to, a little too sweet for most occasions, but I can see some room for me to enjoy it ever so often. OG LvB is way to sweet and fluffy for me, feels cloying and suffocating (my mom signature fragrance for ages), but this flanker adds interesting notes that convinced me to buy small volume.

Rose petals dipped in sugar — just like the Middle Eastern dessert loukoum. I visited the perfumery multiple times over the year to test this scent; it always soothed me and wrapped me in a wonderful aura of warmth. Eventually, I decided to buy a bottle — but after just two uses, I had to resell it. It *is* beautiful, but can be overwhelming, and personally, I didn’t feel comfortable smelling like the rose loukoum mentioned above. I couldn’t detect any citrus or hint of freshness in it. Longevity and sillage are solid — just like in the original.

I just ordered a small 30 ml. bottle after a second test wear. First time I tested this I liked it but had a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that I actually liked something bearing the name La Vie Est Belle, a perfume that I detest. Second test confirmed that I really do like this scent very much, despite its lineage, and then I noticed the affinity to Tresor Midnight Rose which I've always loved. Fortunately, this actually smells to me more like a flanker of Midnight Rose than of LVEB; at least, that's how I like to think of it:).

I have a little sample and tried it twice. To me this is a very nice and sweet rose scent. It is not groundbreaking, but I find it definitely pleasant and uplifting. I like this much better than the OG LVEB, as I like also the Iris Absolue and the Extrait better than the OG and the other flankers so far. The longevity I find it very good on my skin, and the projection is moderate, which is fine, since it makes this fragrance easy to wear without being obnoxious. I think it is appropriate all year round except in very hot weather.

I don't usually blind buy scents at this price point especially after how much I disliked my sample of La Vie est Belle L'Elixir but after reading the notes of pretty much every rose perfume out there, I decided to take a chance. The bottle is very beautiful! It's very rosy with a hint of musk and reminds me of a sweeter Stella. It's warm, sensual, and has just enough of a thorn to prick my fancy. If you despise Fracas or anything very powdery, but loved Stella, this might be for you.

Rose confiture with a teaspoon of sugar on top. A big diva and gorgeous at that. Fresh roses and gourmand iris accord. Very dense, super strong with 2 days long longevity. I love it but I prefer to use it on my decolette, still it reaches my brain and a couple of hours in triggers adverse reaction. It woke me up at night. Might be the massive amount of rose. I still love it. It is a complex scent. I feel the green stems, rose petals, rose confiture, iris, musk, woody notes, moss.

Not a review again... It has been 19 votes, the perfume is still unavailable by public, but 5 people have already voted it as a similar perfume, “Attila” a Turkish perfume by an independent perfumeur and has been released few months ago with a limited production. I wonder which 5 lucky people could smell both an unreleased Lancome perfume and an exclusive, new Turkish perfume. Edit in 10 hours: Still 19 votes but 6 up and 1 downvotes for Attila. Really interesting.
