Miracle Homme L'Aquatonic

My second Lancome mens scent, after Hypnose homme, and I must say I am very impresssed. Having never smelled Miracle Homme, (and now I really want to) I expected a watery gourmand or something very light and weak. MHL'A is none of these things and can definitely stand on its own two feet... This begins with a very bitter orange and powdery violet smell. There are citruses present but they are neither sweet or zesty-just right to balance the bigarade and give it a refreshing quality. The heart has more of a lush vegetal feel, with rhubarb's sweet sourness, corriander's herbiness and the warm green forest feel of cypress. Utterly amazing! This goes from good to better. The drydown is woody with aromatic cedar and smooth guaiac, but the best part is how the very clean, almost soapy smelling rosewood mixes with the earthy dry vetiver. Smashing!! From better to best. This scent is as flannelman said, very underated, most likely because of the 'L'Aquatonic' in the name. This not an aquatic by any means, but an homage to green and growing things and brings some of my all time favorite smells together in a wonderfully unique scent. I was hoping to find a cheaper alternative to TM Cologne when I got this, and it has some basic similarities, but there is just something so comforting and endearing about this scent...it's green (juice and aroma), fresh, grassy and earthy without the usual dirtiness or heavy woods. It has just enough citrus to stay light and "tonic" but remains very much down-to-earth. Very, very impressive! Sillage: good Longevity: above average Overall: 4.75/5 Some may find this similar to Joop! Go, but I find it superior. When first ordering this blind, I whined about the fact it is only available in the one size (125 ml). Now, I'm SO glad it is a huge bottle!! If you like green scents that last, and want a distinctive spring/summer scent...this is the one!

A delightful, fresh, underrated green scent! Don't let the "aqua" in its name fool you, this is definitely not a marine or watery fragrance. It is however very tonic and uplifting. During the first seconds, a very classic citrus note is present but the star here is a burst of bitter but delicious orange. A great way to start the day! Aquatonic then turns into a medium sweet, but also spicy green scent with grass, vetiver and fern notes being the most obvious. There is at times a very faint foody aspect to the fragrance, perhaps because of the rhubarb note. Some have noted vegetables notes such as green pepper and celery, and although I can understand the (subconscious?) reasoning behind this, I can't say I have ever experienced it when I used to wear Aquatonic on a regular basis. Which is just as well (-sigh of relief-): nobody wants to smell like a market stall. And you won't, trust me... The drydown is still green (vétiver) and woody (rosewood mostly, I find). But when it kicks off, the far end of Aquatonic's longevity has already been reached. So, to me, Aquatonic is green, leafy and fresh all the way during the middle notes with a round and bright aspect, à la Guerlain Vétiver. There are also definite similarities with Mugler Cologne in the way the fragrance is built and orchestrated. And there are worst things to be compared to than these two fragrances... If you haven't tried Miracle Aquatonic yet, I recommend it. But please, wait for summer: that's when it will shine...

A 00's creation of Francis Kurkdjian which reeks of summer without actually being "aqua", at least not in the classical marine-calone-iodine sense. Not all summers are about beaches and blooming citrus trees, no matter what the ad says . This one has the green, almost alien freshness of rhubarb, or should I say "freshness", because it's not really the most important part. Fern, grass with a drop of lemon, the paradoxical green of violets. Light woodiness in the background; I can even smell hints of green coffee. The emotion of a transparent color. I wore it for a whole summer vacation some years ago without recognizing all this notes, sensing only one homogenous accord that had no name. I've became more analytical since then, I guess, and I sometimes miss that time when I wasn't. It was a great companion for all the places we visited, humming quietly its green song. Never hides its synthetic nature, but instead takes advantage of it: the only way to create a masterpiece on a budget.

Over the years, I've collected quite a few discontinued gems. There is a selfish delight knowing that you have something not easily accessible anymore. Although Miracle Homme Laquatonic can still be found easily, it's one I will cherish and enjoy just because of how green and refreshing it is. The presentation is all you need to know about this one; light green liquid in a transparent bottle with a white packaging; sincerely, that exudes the character of this fragrance; green! green! green! The blending was done by@franciskurkdjian so you know it was done right. Fern, bitter orange, rhubarb, lemon, violet, vetiver, rosewood and a few more combos. It's a very light fragrance but very enjoyable for spring and summer.

I Love this fragrance so much. I was working for Lancome when it was launched and was so glad they made it. All of the great reviews are wanting me to wear it more, but I am going to be sad when this bottle is gone.. Edit 6/10/19 Many reviews complain about the longevity of the scent. I applied it at 7:30 this morning and it's after 1:00 in the afternoon still going strong! This fragrance always stays with me during the whole work day. I'd say a good 8-9 hours. I don't know if it's just my skin or the batches of the fragrance I have found, but this does last for me.

Miracle Homme L'Aquatonic One of my favorite perfumes of all time, what a shame that it has been discontinued. I feel this is a very greenish , clean, refreshing and invigorating perfume. About the perfume, i can only smell green elements everywhere, it reminds me of freshly cut green grass. To me it smells like fresh green chili peppers, after that it changes to cilantro or coriandrum, i can smell the citric notes of the bitter orange with the lemon, combined with the rhubarb leaf gives L'aquatonic its fresh scent.

I think this has been discontinued? I had it a few years ago, and I really enjoyed this and the regular Miracle. It is so green and fresh, like a perfectly cut lawn and then a spring rain coming together with the early blooms and being warmed by a gentle April sun. I don't know if I'd but it again. It's definitely good but overall nothing extraordinarily special. I think I'll keep this one in my memories.

I love it. It’s green and dry. A bright, emerald green sprout growing next to a decaying bush. You get the raw beauty of fern and rhubarb mingling with subtle wood notes and vetiver. I don’t know in 2003, but today you will stand out wearing this perfume. In a sea of suffocating Oud, vanilla and endless Aventus, L’Aquatonic is a breath of fresh air, happiness, simplicity and beauty.

This is not a aqua/marine scent - it's a green, herby grassy, scent. The bitter orange comes through I think. Quite similar to "Good Life" by Davidoff. Longevity is OK and it is quite pleasant. L'Aquatonic is also similar to CK's "Truth" - but the Lancome frag dries down more mellow, it's a good one and it grows on you

I truely enjoy to wear this EDT. I can't really describe the scent, it's very unique, but I can say that I love it. For me the longevity is excelent, up to 8-10h. On my skin it last more that L'Eau D'Issey, for exemple. The projection is very good also, especially in the first hours. The best summer scent that I own!

pure masterpiece! Fresh spring air with wet fern- grassy smell. One of my favorites of all time. Shame on U Lancome for terminate manufacturing this gem!

One of the best summer scents I've ever had, to bad I can't find it anymore.

I found my summer/spring Holy Grail, 125 ml for about 45 usd. I'm very happy but a little sad because it is a discontinued fragrance. It is suitable for spring and summer evenings because of its strenght. Not for very warm weather though. It opens super fresh herbal and green, a smell like fresh cut grass, slightly sour and spicy. Soon the sourness is fading out and remain a beautiful deep and slightly dark green/herbal fresh-spicy scent with a sub-sweet vibe (it's not sweet scent though by any means). The first and dominant note is a suberb mossy and wet green Fern and the second one, the Rhubarb. I get tiny amount of violet, only minor traces of it and I'm happy about that. The lemon, the bitter orange are perfectly balanced, have equal power and remain at the background among with the woody notes. Vetiver and coriander are also present but subtle. It's one of those scents that brings you images to your mind. A forest full of herbs and greens, old pagan world, fairies and forest witches.. As you walk into the dense shady forest, you smell various herbs and you're feeling the green dampness near some ferns and maybe there is also a small spring among them where a water nymph is resting. Another fairy is playing among the dense greens casting a spell calling your name.. maybe.. Performance: Longevity : This was a big surprise for me. It is the strongest green/fern scent I have. I sprayed myself and I made one full spray in my right hand. After 10 hours and a shower, it is still present. Now, after about 12 hours is almost gone. Sillage : For the first 1.5-2 hours is heavy. Then become moderate up to 7-7.5 hours. After that turns into a lovely skin scent until the end. Resemblance : It has same vibe with Dzintars Līgo (Ligo) but they are two completely different scents. L'Aquatonic is much greener and fresher with obviously superior feeling/quality than Dzintars, with a suberb fern note. The Ligo turns a little heavy and stuffed because of the tolu balsam I think.

I got lucky yesterday to find this for little over $30 in an old shop near my office, a 2003 batch. I suppose they were unable to sell it as no one here knows much about L’Aquatonic. For a minute, I was tempted to put that on eBay as the price has been sky rocketed since its discontinuation. But the temptation was not strong enough to stop me from tearing off the wrapper and spraying on myself. At first, I was greeted by lemon with the hint of bitter orange followed by green fern and sweetish rhubarb. As the dry down phase began, rhubarb became slightly more prominent than the fern. This is where it was too sweet for my taste, however, half an hour down the lane, notes started to sync to give it a smoother affect but it also started to lose the projection quality by now. All in all, it is not an overpowering, sweet green summer fragrance with moderate lasting and projection. To test it further, I put this on to office today and it was noticed and liked by few colleagues. Since it’s relatively colder season here, I shall test it again in spring / summer and report back. In the same shop, I was able to spot few other discontinued gems and will try to put my hands on them soon ;)

A vast fern meadow... A warm summer morning... Gallic druids carefully gather juicy young fern shoots and pre-cut, soaked stalks of rhubarb. They place everything into a polished vessel, add a couple of golden sweet hesperidic fruits, a pinch of coriander, toss in some rosewood logs, and begin to brew a compote... A rich, thick compote - so viscous that it has to be stirred with a hefty cedar spoon. An extraordinary aroma spreads across the meadow and lingers in the air for a long time... Cannot stand rhubarb, and this was the only fragrance that I enjoyed with it. This wasn't a shrill freshie, it's herbal with a freshness while retaining some of the gentleness/warmth of the original Miracle. Really really good.

Beautiful scent but last about 10 minutes. Seems I was wrong I might be going nose blind to it. It last good 5to6 hrs. Not bad

Very similar to Aigner Evolution (green juice) and it's grassy smell, fresh and not bad at all.

This is a unique green, leafy and herbal fragrance with a light touch of dry spice in the drydown. It has an accord of fresh cut floral stems lifted out of a vase of fresh water. It has the sweet smell of freshly rinsed rhubarb stalks and a flower bud that has not yet opened. It's light green and I totally get the fresh grassy tone mentioned in other reviews. The citruses are downplayed as is the bright violet note and the sweet green scent of fern never quite relents it's control in the composition until the dry-down. Where the green grass note gets lightly oily and bit sun softened. It's a Spring scent more than a Summer to me in that it speaks to green growth just on the brink of blooming. It's not citrus sharp and bright like a summer cologne and it is still hanging on to a thread of something like an ultra sheer cardamon - all very subtle. Come to think of it this fragrance is all about subtle tones and notes after that initial sun warmed green accord fades a bit. It is also absolutely unisex. Enjoyably worn by anyone who likes a good fresh Spring air reminiscent fragrance I would bet. Oh yah, and vetiver. It has a soft vetiver in the drydown.

Lancôme Miracle Homme L'Aquatonic is another very nice creation of Kurkdjian and one among few wonderful angels of Lancôme pour Hommes. why I call them Angels? simple - they're not overdone in complexity, the longevity is good and projection is nice, moderate to good with an intriguing scent to match, unfortunately most of them are riddled by lack of sales that eventually led to the discontinuation. Miracle Homme L'Aquatonic is no exception, green and clean with wet-grass like characteristics. Nice fragrance that presenting a slight herbacious notes in the opening together with fresh citric orange. Like vegetables stall, as flannelman have pointed before, but worry not for it will subdued into more vetiver and woody to be introduced to give more depths and overall touch and character. I definitely prefer this over Mugler Cologne. Miracle Homme L'Aquatonic is among Lancôme Angels, the cleanest and most innocent of all, however it might be advisable that you get a bottle immediately if you like it, since - The Lancôme Angels are falling...

I thought I loved this scent for it's originality in a world of banality. After commiting to 125ml and wearing it on a daily basis it hasn't lived up to the pedestal on which I put it. There is a lot of orange citrus freshness to open and after that the green notes emerge. The violet it lovely and crisp and adds a touch of body. Then it becomes a bit murky and unclean. A sort of milky leafy not emerges amongst the woods and it becomes more synthetic and complacent. It is a nice green aquatic for summer and great if you like a young tonic scent. The base notes hang around for hours but the charming fresh top notes disappear too soon.

Fans of this should consider testing Baruti’s Tindrer (EDP) as a modern interpretation. Spyros’ is similarly grassy with a sweetened base, but certainly more “neon”/metallic. Transitions into a galbanum note that echoes Aramis Devin in its pastoral nature (but that’s about it)... not to be confused with smelling identical to either, but perhaps a bit of the semi-sweet violet of Maurice Roucel’s Riverside Drive as well is shared. Huge fan of Kurkdjian, and proud to own this amazing fragrance!

Bought this toghether with my husband. It is really very uplifting!The closest "relative" in my opinion is also Cologne by Thierry Mugler. Opening is really citusy, but then it calms down and I smell Vetiver. As it is a Tonic it isn ́t very longlasting, but inspite of that I think it is really great and refreshing. I would also use it(in summer) by the way, it ́s quite unisex (not feminine) imho.

Beautiful scent! Classic and modern vibes. One the best accords i ever seen using rhubarb. Refreshing and invigorating, can be used in almost any occasion due the Classic vibe! Green with some herba-citrus spirit. I don't see any similarities with goodlife. Great job from Francis Kurkdjian!

Green and bitter which I sometimes like but not here in this one. It has a 90’s vibe like cool water. I don’t like it. One month later update: what I feel the most here is mint in the way you find it in Lacoste Booster but more elegant. Not that bad actually!

A very nice scent: the greenest scent I know. It reminds me of a soft and modern version of Chanel No. 19( to me it is unisex), but it is adorable. Natural, glowing, irresistible, without smelling like "ozone".

Feels like a dream. Crawling low along the ground in tall wet grass, swallowed up in an herbaceous buzzing sound. Green, explosive, damp, and botanical, wet decay and the ground coming up to meet you

I just wanna say. The notes listed here are very similar to Yves Saint Laurent Live Jazz. Does anyone try these two out? I haven't tried neither and I can't decide what to get! Which is better?

Im a girly and I love this stuff. Makes a change from my guerlain vetiver. It's very fresh and unique. Try it if you can find it.

unfortunately and the original miracle discontinued a few months after the last reformulation
