Miracle

A Litchi-Pepper-Ginger Dewdrop... To me this is first & foremost a litchi scent, but overall a litchi-pepper-shampoo scent. I've loved it since it was released in 2000. All the notes are there, however, and I can smell the pepper-ginger-mandarin in the heart, and jasmine-musk in the base, but everything seems to be working together to support the litchi theme with its dewy, tropical & fresh facets. There's also something near "pink" shampoo in the background, and pencil shavings on the skin. Into the drydown, everything starts to evolve into a magnolia & pink peony bouquet. When I first had this back in 2000, I wished it was stronger, but when I test it today it seems just right for this type of scent. The musk here is a bit forward until it macerates, but then everything comes together beautifully. I could imagine this being worn by Chloe Sevigny in the film American Psycho (2000), as a glowy veil of protection that keeps her from being fodder for her evil serial-killer boss, played by Christian Bale. This was one of the first in this genre, and the high-water mark imo for this type of dewdrop-pink-shampoo scent - hats off to master perfumers Alberto Morillas, Christian Dussoulier & Harry Fremont. It's a longtime love for me. 10/10. Enjoy! Contrast to Just Me Paris Hilton: These are different, although Just Me is inspired by Miracle. Just Me has a more forward woody accord, and to me it has something near suede-leather in the mix. Roughly equivalent performance. Contrast to Bright Crystal Versace: These are different, but again have similarities with the fruity pink shampoo vibe. Bright Crystal leans more raspberry-peony with a hint more tartness, while Miracle is spicier & leans more litchi. Roughly equivalent performance. Contrast to Cool Water Sea Rose Davidoff: These are different, but again have similarities with the fruity pink shampoo vibe, and there's something similar in the musk. Cool Water Sea Rose leans more peony-pear, while Miracle is spicier and leans more litchi. Roughly equivalent performance, or slightly better for Miracle. Update 05/27/25: Sprayed this on today, and I'm really enjoying it. A classic. Litchi is there in the opening with its pepper accent. Some subtle waxiness from the magnolia wafting up. Transition to the magnolia heart with ginger accent, and wow I'm floored once again by the artistry. When your nose is tired from all the heavy hitters, this really hits the spot. In this moment I feel I may never go back. Love it.

I'm not too sure I can do this perfume justice and explain it's beauty and complexity in words... Miracle is one that takes some time to appreciate, I truly think you need to live with it through seasons to see it's technical brilliance and see that it's more than just a crowd-pleaser fruity-floral. Maybe it's the simple bottle, the strawberry pink juice, or it's 2000's birth that make people talk it down but this is a true classic. No single note overpowers this composition and yet all of the notes are totally perceptible in perfect equilibrium. You lift your arm to your nose and you get a juicy tart litchi and at the same time freesia, and oh! jasmine and some orange and the kick of pepper and the warmth of ginger. All at once, impeccably blended, smooth, soft but there. I spray on skin, on clothes and through my hair and breathe in that bubble of scent in a moment of bliss. It manages to be both fresh and invigorating and uplifting, conjuring up the feeling of fresh starts, spring mornings and optimism and yet it's warm, cozy and comforting, like an embrace from someone you love or being curled up in a blanket on a crisp day- no small feat for any perfume to simultaneously elicit both responses - what mastery! Every day I wear this I'm surprised by it because in some weather the notes shine differently - not better or worse, just different, it develops differently, I perceive it differently. It's like taking the same route to work everyday but really opening your eyes and noticing something new each time. It has a versatility that should be applauded because whilst being elegant, it's also FUN. It's composed and yet somehow feels free spirited. It's approachable and still unique, it's likeable but has heaps of personality. It could suit so many tastes, fashions and moods. You could wear this to work, to dinner, a fresh spring day or a cozy autumn morning. Wear it for special occasions, wear it everyday religiously or wear it when you don't know what to wear. You will smell gorgeous. You will get your moneys worth and more! I don't find this generic at all and I don't understand the hate for it. Look past it's 2000's aesthetic, looks past a market oversaturated at times with fruity florals and see that this is something that has stood the test of time. Something that manages to evoke simultaneous transient feelings of coolness and warmth, newness and familiarity, memories almost forgotten and memories not yet created. Timeless.

I'm gonna start with the people here who seem to "hate" this or any other perfume....why do you feel the need to trash something so bad, just because you personally do not like it!? Just say it wasn't for you and leave it at that. Why do you want to ruin it for others who actually enjoy it or someone who might be thinking of trying it? It's just weird for me that people do that. If I don't like I perfume, I'll say it isn't for me and leave it at that. I won't compare it to bug spray or air freshener or whatnot. Geez, people, just be mature. OK, rant over. Miracle is my 20s in a bottle. I had and still have a huge collection of perfumes and I wore them according to my mood rather than occasion. Lancome Miracle was my girls day out fragrance. It made me feel girly, pretty and fresh. I didn't know I gravitate towards ginger notes until I saw the notes of this and Ralph Lauren Romance and a few of my other favorites and realized they all have ginger listed in their notes. I guess I like a spicy, zesty kick to my fragrances. I worked for Estee Lauder in my 20s and I had access to the entire range of EL fragrances and I still wore a lot of Lancome Miracle during my time there. Goes to show how lovely it felt to me. I feel the name could easily be Lovely and would suit the fragrance. Although SJP Lovely is another one of my signature scents along with Narciso Rodriguez Her EDT. These perfumes have in common their perfect blend of floral and sweet. They are neither too sickly syrupy sweet not just floral bombs. A perfect balance of flowers with some spice and sugar. Good times with Miracle...

2019 formulation. Still smells like Miracle, but like they added in some if the horrendous sweetness of LVEB to it in an attempt to keep the brand as uniform and mass appealing (for fans of LVEB) as possible. They have effectively poo-pooed this scent by over sweetening it as a way of keeping it modern. The style of this scent was not previously one of sugar sweetness. I owned this when it was first released and the scent was not wrapped in a dense coating of sugar like it is now. It's a real shame that the existence of LVEB (along with a million other similar scents) has equated to the brand's desire to make everything equally as sickeningly sweet. Yadda yadda... Still smells like Miracle. Miracle still hangs on in there, to some degree. The orangey (sweet satsuma, tangerine?) note is far stronger (and sweeter) than it was previously. Perhaps that is also a contributing factor to the overall elevation of sweetness. Still pleasant, still nice, but the added sweetness is really too much for me. Smells better from a distance, but as the wearer of the scent this is no consolation. Nice. But it was nicer before they sweetened it up so much.

Miracle is sparkly, fruity, floral, slightly sweet and tart, and clean as in a bit shampoo-y. It reminds me of Versace’s Bright Crystal, but it smells much nicer, fruitier, and better balanced in my opinion. Chanel’s Chance Eau Tendre and Ralph Lauren’s Romance are other scents I associate with it. In fact, now that I think of it, Miracle could be a nice, cheaper alternative to Eau Tendre. They could be sisters. Miracle smells very bright, happy, optimistic, and girly, while also being somewhat sophisticated for this type of scent (prob, because it’s not super sweet). Very charming and lovely in my opinion, perfectly suited for cheerful young women and for work/school. It’s crowdpleasing without being necessarily trendy. The only reason I can imagine someone disliking it is because it can smell a bit sharp like hairspray when worn in very cold weather. Shampoo-y scents aren’t by any means my favorite category, in fact I often find them quite boring, but something about Miracle sets it apart in my mind and I think it’s very pretty! I wear it now and then when I get the shampoo scent itch, lol.

“Mainstream” feminine perfumes have historically left me disappointed in their synthetic florals, cloying sweetness, or just basic formulations. If it smells too similar to a fragrance strip between the pages of Elle magazine, there’s a good chance I’m not a fan. “Miracle” has broken a long streak of established fragrance houses letting me down with their feminine perfumes. I got a discovery set for Christmas which hasn’t wowed me, but this stands out. I really can’t get enough. Very light floral with a fresh, clean base and a little bit of tropical fruit. I struggle to get behind explicitly feminine fragrances but this is a girly perfume done right. I’ll be reaching for this in the spring and likely purchasing a large decant once my mini size is finished. More than anything I wish they’d re-release the shower gel formulation. I’m also really interested in a more elevated flanker, but the Intense seems hard to come by. For an EDP, I find that I need to be more liberal with application to get full enjoyment out of this. That being said, there’s always a time and place for subtle sillage.

Miracle has quietly transformed from a like to a love for me over the course of a few months. What started as a casual, afterthought blind buy (a cheap partial bottle on eBay) has become a cherished daytime ritual that is compelling, uplifting, and restorative. It's hard to keep denying how often I crave this unassuming fragrance, and how often I've been reaching for it among all my other [seemingly] more interesting options at hand. It's a peppery pink orange juice elixir that gently wakes you up and instantly soothes your mood. The florals are secondary for me, but they are present enough that it doesn't become gourmand. Longevity is lacking, but aren't the best scents always fleeting? And despite its energizing quality, Miracle is nonaggressive and safe to reapply as much as you want. The disadvantage of that, of course, is that your juice goes quickly. If there's a material object that can (even mildly) incentivize me to wake up and start another day, it's nothing short of a miracle.

It is a beautiful fragrance. It exudes confidence without being overpowering and allows a feminine touch to shine through. You could wear this to a corporate interview. Anytime you want to feel uplifted and put together, and absolutely intriguing! It goes against a lot of the sugary sweet fragrances that are popular. It performs well on a summers day stroll in a city park or on a date heading to watch the tennis. The heat makes this perfume bloom and it does not turn rancid or cloying. It smells like a perfume - not gourmand or green. The pink fruit vibe is there, the white flower touch, the spice of the pepper really adds a punch and uplifts the other notes. It’s beautifully blended and absolutely complex, very polished. It lingers well on skin and clothing for around 3 hours and those within arms length will undoubtedly notice in a good way. 3-4 sprays is all you need. It’s a classic and I’m grateful to have been able to experience this perfume.

This is absolutely stunning! Miracle is a great day-time scent that's good for any season. It smells clean and luxurious and it gets lots of compliments! I used to wear it a few years ago, in the first year of uni, and my husband (boyfriend at the time) kept sniffing me and telling me how good i smelled - and he's super picky with scents! I'm actually thinking of repurchasing it which i rarely do eith fragrances. This smells so delicate and beautifully refined, it's not in your face, it whispers rather than shouts... but that's part of the beauty of it. Either way, i would not call it weak. Yes, the projection is moderate at best, but it lasts quite long as a skin scent & on clothes. It's one of the most feminine perfumes that i have ever tried and it has a timeless, elegant quality that I can imagine appealing across generations, to women of all ages. I 100% think this is blind buy safe if you like florals.

First impression: (sample dabber) What an underrated gem! So backstory to this perfume. I remember as a kid spraying myself with a perfume that my mom had a sample of, and I’ve been trying to find that scent ever since. Unfortunately I’ve forgotten the name of it, and asked what perfumes does my mom have that are sample size. I remember it being empty empty or almost empty. She listed a lot of samples all of which I looked up and they looked more oakmossy and very heavy. This one however stuck out to me because I remember the perfume either being from Lancôme or Estée Lauder perfume. I think this is that perfume. This is fresh clean, floral. Not too floral where it’s nauseating for me, the pepper calms it down. To me this is an alluring fresh scent, grown woman but who is she does she naturally smell like vibe. Think ominia crystal by Bvlgari just more floral, less woody. Wow!

I love this fragrance. If I could keep just one of my mini collection, it would be this. I generally seek out fragrances that smell like a concept or evoke an image in my mind. Not necesarily those that are like, "okay I smell ginger, and now I smell the vanilla." To me this smells well blended and smooth to me and on my skin, It last long and gets smoother over time. It smells feminine, clean, gentle, and happy. Like a beloved queen. The scent isn't loud and attacks you. I wear it to work safely, and it lifts my mood when I get a wif of it randomly throughout the day. Did I mention I love the name? If this is discontinued I will cry.

3 words to characterize this perfume without describing what it smells like: TOTAL COMPLIMENT MAGNET. Everywhere I go, I get complimented on this left and right. I will, however, go on to describe it. It smells like a fresh bouquet of flowers. Not roses, not jasmine, not really anything you can pinpoint, just freshly cut flowers. Not freshly cut grass, not freshly cut lemons, freshly cut flowers. Crisp with a hint of sweetness. And the color is perfect; it does smell "pink." Girly, floral fresh perfume. Disregard the year it came out and the fact that everybody's "mom" loves it - it is as modern and relevant as ever.

If you like scents like Bright Crystal, Blooming Bouguet and the like, I think you will appreciate this scent. It is incredibly uplifting and elegant at the same time. Magnolia, Freesia and Jasmine are perfectly balanced and none overpowers the other. Lychee adds softness and depth to the scent and is therefore a bit "smoother" than the above-mentioned scents. In my opinion, a beautiful scent for a spring/summer wedding for both the bride and the guest, excellent for the office, for a meeting. In my opinion, it is very versatile and at the same time unique and interesting. The staying power and projection are great.

I love this, it reminds me of the early 2000s designer perfumes and shares a similar DNA to perfumes like Lancome Miracle. This is clean and fresh and would smell attractive on anyone. It is not groundbreaking but has subtle nuances to it that set it apart from the others. The rice and bamboo note. It is delightful, understated and doesn't smell complicated however, it teeters on the edge of generic but is still a lovely enticing scent. I can't imagine anyone feeling sick or repulsed by this. The scent trail is just enough. It is a beautifully blended fragrance.

Oldie but goodie! It was launched in 2000 but I don't find it dated at all; to me it's a timeless everyday scent. Miracle is a fresh, musky-floral fragrance with a touch of pepper. Lychee in the opening adds a bit of sweetness. The most prominent floral notes (to my nose) are freesia and magnolia, which create a dewy and fresh aspect of this perfume. Clean musk and warm amber in the base round off the composition. Miracle is a very pretty, gentle and feminine perfume....one of the 'sentimental' fragrances in my collection. Disclaimer: my bottle is from 2013.

I think I'm starting to get obsessed with Lancome fragrances. I got a great deal on this so I decided to blind buy. It's very fresh and soapy but not in shampoo way like I've seen it described here in some reviews. Rather it feels invigorating yet elegant, less "clean girl" and more refined. Great for work or anytime daytime occasion. Hard to describe but I really love this. I could see a man wearing this easily and wondering why so many women want to smell him up close. I wish it projected more, but overall this is a win.

I originally tried this one because someone said it would be a good dupe for a discontinued perfume I have been looking for, VS Original Pink (2001 formula). While it is not a dupe for Original Pink, it’s a fragrance I keep coming back to. It’s floral, it’s clean, it’s somewhat spicy, and then musky on the dry down - it’s beautiful! It’s a good everyday fragrance that would be office safe. My only gripe is that I wish the longevity was better. I got the bottle and it’s almost a quarter of the way gone after 3 months.

My best friend for over 45 years has worn this since it came to market. I have been owning this scent for over 20 years and like it a lot. There are situations when I can't decide what would be the scent of the day and under these situations I have three choices : Miracle, Laura or Champs Elysees and most often I choose Miracle. It's a safe choice, subtle, friendly, feminine and girlish. I do hope that Lancome would never discontinue this. The bodylotion and shower gel from this line are also very succesful.

In the overly sweet olfactory landscape that is my community, where beastmode, in-your-face, trying-to-hard fragrances abound, Lancôme Miracle is, well, a unicorn. I have been wearing this fragrance since it was released in 2000, and I still love it. It still feels relevant to me. Few fragrances give me the same confidence, maybe it's the combination of ginger and pepper. If you're like me and like litchi, but don't see yourself as a Delina person, try Miracle. There is nothing quite like to my knowledge.
