Ô Oui

What a lovely Eau de Toilette. This is a rose dominant citrus scent. The rose and citrus remain fresh throughout and there is a lovely clean sweetness to the scent, something that I detect as blackcurrant (but monoi oil is listed) and the ever so popular lychee that makes it light and airy. The vibe is happy and maybe even romantic and fresh and clean. I'd say all age groups can wear it (I really think that anyone can wear anything). And for a summer freshie, it has a very good lasting power and decent projection. I'm getting myself a bottle and I wish there was a body range to go with it. Note, the 90's Ou Qui! is a different scent. I used to have a bottle and I loved it too, it was a fresh floral, young & chic scent with the most upbeat vibe. I think that it is still available.

This just smells good. Fresh, sweet rose and lychee. I find the monoï hard to detect. It’s simple and easy to wear—like a body spray. I really like it, though it’s nothing particularly special. But it doesn't have to be. I wear it when I’m not going anywhere on a sunny day, or before bed.

Finally the Ô bottle has the correct flower for the pattern inside. It is very summery in strength and refreshing. The lychee accord is big in the opening, perfect and nearly jammy but unsweetened but it goes away fast revealing a fresh rose. The rose here is the famous centyfolia rose from La Domaine de la Rose, France and the package claims it is air-captured to smell just like the freshly opened flower. And indeed it smells like a rose, leaves included and even a hint of soil, like a fresh bloom after rain. But without the smell of moisture. It is a very pleasant sensation to smell like roses. I do not feel any citruses or monoi. The package does not mentions such accords. What is characteristic is that the blend is naturalistic and completely unsweetened, which is very comfortable to wear, even innovative. Scent-wise I just might prefer last year's blends, especially the exotic Zenith. But they are well-worth the purchase for summer and one cannot go wrong with a rose or jasmine. Oui and Zenith are feminine. The others I can imagine on a male but consider them more on a female side. Low unisex appeal. Ô Oui has decent diffusion but then, Dominique Ropion always gives us both attractiveness and performance. 9 hours in and I still feel it on! A gorgeous, clean, muted rose.

It reminds me a lot of Swarovski's Aura. If you miss it, go for it! Unrelated to the other perfume also named "O Oui" by Lancôme from 1999.

If you're wondering whether the new Ô Oui by Lancôme is a reborn version of the original O Oui! from 1999, it isn't. They're completely different fragrances. What I've noticed about Lancôme is that whenever they release a pink fragrance, I almost always catch a reference to Miracle. That's not a criticism, it's just the brand signature I guess. My own signature fragrance is from Lancôme, and I also own (and love) Idôle, which is another rose-centered "pink juice" (though with considerably less Miracle references, because I'm not actually a big fan of Miracle). The new Ô Oui is a pleasant, easygoing fragrance, but it's been done a million times. It isn't what I'd consider a signature scent. I actually like the entire Ô collection. Each fragrance stands well on its own, but to me, they're essentially elevated body sprays. Not because they're weak - they're not. Performance is respectable for an EdT. Rather, it's the branding, bottle design, advertising, positioning, and the way they're meant to be worn that gives me that impression. This is a fragrance I'd throw into my beach bag for a summer pool day - a floral-fruity mist for a bikini afternoon: bright, sparkling, optimistic, and guaranteed to lift your mood. So, no shade at all, just setting expectations. This isn't a "I've never smelled anything like this before" fragrance that's going to make you fall off the chair. It's simply a nice, sunny summer scent that performs well, lasting noticeably longer than the average body spray while keeping the refreshing spirit.

I was pleasantly surprised by this. Based on the notes I thought it would be another Delina-wannabe, but it is not! It is its own scent, like a bubble gum version of rose, if that makes sense. Playful but not juvenile. Also, it is like the morning-daytime sister of Memo Paris - Odeon, which is a more intense evening type of rose jam.
