Oud Bouquet Eau de Parfum

This review is a year in the making, proof you need to give scents time to really learn what kind of effect they have on your senses. Like Parfait de Roses, I had tried this one last year and thought, "Fantastic! Splendid! Good job, Lancome! Just too sweet for ME personally. Pass, but honorable mention." To clarify, at the time I tried the newer version of Oud Bouquet, which has the clear bottle with stained-glass-esque backdrop and is part of the newer line of Maison Lancome Haute Parfumerie. The oud is not very authentically Middle-Eastern - by that I mean it's just too "clean" and lacking the fecal qualities of real oud. It's most likely the common synthetic version that's floating around designer fragrances these days. However, if you can imagine oud done in perfect harmony with sweet chocolate, caramel, and rose, this was Oud Bouquet. I put it out of my mind until a year later and I am going through a sweetness craving. As in, perfumes I long forgot are popping into my mind and I'm seeking them out like an addict. The first two, the VERY FIRST that I was reminded of are Parfait de Roses and Oud Bouquet. Lancome delivers the goods, you guys. I needed the Lancome level of sugar dosage. I went straight for a full bottle of Oud Bouquet, but the original gold bottle because it's just so gorgeous. I don't think I like the scent *quite* as much as the newer version, and I will explain why, but WOW is that 60s-mod abstract rose fabulous or what?! I had to have it for the scent as well as the bottle. So here is Oud Bouquet in the gold bottle: WINE. I get a blast of yeasty red wine emanating from the sprayer and in the opening on my skin and it is soooooo yummy. Supported by the warm, sticky praline and piqued by the clean oud, this perfume is just a stunner. The opening is all about this wine and sharp oud with a teensy bit of rose, but the drydown rests on the praline. It is here that chalky chocolate comes out. If ever you were looking for a boozy chocolate perfume, this is it. To my recollection, the newer version was more rosy and possibly *slightly* less sweet and boozy. Which is still pretty sweet overall. It's got fewer gyrations in extreme directions, if you can imagine; more cohesive. (For once a reformulation for the better; can I get an AMEN?!) Both versions of Oud Bouquet have Lancome's characteristic praline found in La Nuit Tresor and La Vie Est Belle. This is just the grown-up lady's nighttime version. She's a woman now. For those who are looking for a "starter" oud and have found much they like in the current designer scents, Oud Bouquet is a great introduction. It is my personal favorite of all the Maison Lancome concepts. I noticed the sprayer only delivers what amounts to a half-spray. Do not be alarmed. This is likely by design because Oud Bouquet will fill the room and stay on skin for 24+ hours with a half spray. A small amount is the best way to enjoy this powerfully decadent perfume. 10/10

Two words: Unicorn Tears. First, this should be the hallmark of performance that every other scent should try to live up to. This has the PERFECT heavy sillage, and yet it's heavier for the wearer than it is to those around them. No problems with anosmia whatsoever, and after this settles about 15 minutes in, this fragrance maintains its perfect projection for longer than any other scent I've ever tried. I mean, this stuff doesn't even start to quiet down for about 8 hours! Talk about perfection! Plus, ONE SPRAY is usually enough, so a bottle of this would last a lifetime. Honestly, a decant would last most of us for years! Except, this could potentially become a new favorite scent, causing you to wear it every day this fall! :) Guys - don't be put off by the praline note! This is absolutely unisex. This scent has that rose oud combination you've likely smelled before, and yet it doesn't just pigeonhole itself into being a basic rose oud. The notes play off one another to create an overall effect, rather than just different notes together. The oud is not very pronounced in the overall composition, but it is there, and if you can search past the praline note and the way the notes meld together to lend to such an effect, you will find the rose oud combination you've likely smelled before. Still, it feels like there are more than just 5 ingredients in this scent. I actually get two subdued woody oud accords, shrouded by praline, rose and vanilla, equally. I also get a tiny bit of spice that I have a hard time attributing to the listed notes. My girlfriend and I call this "Unicorn Tears" as an inside joke, because it's rare and it smells exquisite - like something largely unobtainable. This composition, as a whole, smells like something you could travel the world searching for and few would ever find. I've gotten huge compliments on this scent and everyone agrees it smells rich and unique. This is a new favorite to join the ranks, and since one spray is all it takes, I'm sure I'll have this for a very VERY long time. PS - If I should die before I run out of this scent, please spray it on me for my funeral. This is THAT much of a love for me.

So, As a guy who’s only been into fragrance for a short while (despite being 41 I never had the confidence to experiment and try new things often) I wanted to give my opinion from both perspectives of buying with a lady in mind and seeing myself. I purchased a sample whilst searching for a new gourmand/sexy/date/bedtime! fragrance for a special lady in my life and my interest was based on a number of online reviews (Demi Rawlings, Delicious Delights, Brooklyn Fragrance Lover etc) as their descriptions really appealed m despite my concern about the Rose. Like some others have mentioned, the first spray/experience wasn’t love at first sniff but I kept feeling compelled to go back to the strip and smell again every time I walked into the room it was in. Even 2 days later the tissue carried the scent and it became more gourmand and richer so I figured ‘why not try it on my skin, I’m on my own all night, who cares’? Well, apart from the initial hit (which is powerful) it dried down faster on my skin and became warm and rich quite quickly and I found myself enjoying it a lot through the evening. Fast forward to yesterday, I was visiting my friend for lunch so chose to wear this and see her reaction. We kissed and she said I smelt beautiful. Over the evening she kept burying her nose in my jumper. Her description of marshmallow, caramel match others but the word that summed it up was her saying ‘you smell delicious’. I’d agree, I can’t pick out individual notes yet but I definitely get the soft rose which I’m surprised I like then follow a rich, deep, warm, sweet sensual vibe that makes me want to smell more. So, I bought this sample with a woman in mind and am certain it would smell amazing on her but guys, don’t be afraid to give this a go - it’s perhaps a little unconventional for a ‘bloke’ but it is truly beautiful the performance is fantastic (still very strong on clothes over 24hrs later)

I am a HUGE frag head. I have wanted Oud Bouquet since 2017, and my husband finally got me a bottle for our two year anniversary, and I am obsessed to say the least. Oud bouquet is an absolute masterpiece. The blend of Oud, wood, rose, praline, and vanilla is swirled “just right” into this incredible juice that actually lasts and projects. It’s one of the most incredible Oud/rose/praline scents I have ever smelled. I’m an oversprayer, but with this particular juice over spraying might turn people off to it due to the Oud and wood. I think it’s beautiful and will spray however much I like and don’t care who doesn’t like it. First spray is intense with Oud and wood, but soon it settles down on the skin to this rosey/praline/vanilla with Oud in the background that compliments my body chemistry like no other. I usually wear baccarat as my signature scent, but getting my hands on this gem has changed it up for me. You also get an incredible deal on it. 3.4oz for 146$ (it was on sale at Lancôme so we snatched it) originally 206$ your still getting a damn good value just because this juice will last long for a lot of people. This juice will be in my arsenal as long as I’m alive because I just love it that damn much. If you don’t like oud or woods, then I would probably stay away from this. The rose and praline don’t come out until it’s settled on the skin for a bit. Lasts about 6-7 hours on clothes and skin. Projection is medium and sillage is amazing. Bottle is gorgeous, and even the newer formula (the one I just got in 2023) it’s still just as strong and beautiful as ever. I love heavy hitters, and this is definitely a heavy hitter. This has become my favorite fragrance EVER in such a short amount of time, and nothing tops baccarat for me. If you love middle eastern fragrances and you love rose and oud and heavy hitters, then you might just love this masterpiece.

This has become my signature scent. It is a very sophisticated, sexy and regal scent. This is a unisex fragrance. I had 6 women come up to me and ask me what I was wearing. My confidence just got BOOSTED 100%. I am new to this Fragrance Lifestyle and after those compliments I AM OFFICIALLY ALL IN. The Oud, Vanilla and Rose notes are blended flawlessly. This is Niche Fragrance Quality. I have just purchased 3 more bottles one for my mother, girlfriend and for myself. I will purchase more because this is a hidden GEM and I'm sure Lancome will either raise the price, reformulate it again or discontinue it. I will stock up because I want to wear this from now until the grave. This is a Beastmode Fragrance. Serious Compliments, Sillage is off the chain, Last 8 + hours. You all must get your noses on this. Update: I had a dentist appointment today. As I was getting my teeth cleaned the dental tech in the next room stopped in and ask my dental tech did she smell that scent. My dental tech pointed at me and said that is him that smells so good. They asked me what fragrance I was wearing. I told them and gave them the website I purchased it from. As I was leaving the dental office I held the door for an elderly man. As he walked past me he stopped and said, Son you smell good. I thanked him, I went home and immediately went online and ordered 2 more bottles. Update: If your still on the fence you better act fast. The price has went up on many sites to $125 for this fragrance. Notino is still selling at $57 but not for long. I just purchased 2 more bottles from Notino at $57, because all sites including ebay and amazon are selling for no less than $125. I told you all this was a hidden Gem. Now the word is out and the greedy corporate vultures have raised the prices. Next Reformulation, Next Discontinued. "And So It Begins"

I purchased Oud Bouquet EDP for my girlfriend this Christmas along with heavy-hitters such Chanel Gardenia Eau de Parfum, Xerjoff Lira, Cartier Le Baiser Du Dragon and a couple others. Oud Bouquet was a blind-buy but many of my trusted friends give it glowing reviews, so it seemed like a safe bet. Because of the busy holidays I was only able to smell it on paper and, to be honest, it was nice but I was not overly impressed. Well, my girlfriend came down stairs on this chilly morning and I immediately sprang to my feet and told her she smelled fantastic...correction, boxer-dropping spanktastic. LOL! We played the fragrance guessing game and, although it smelled somewhat familiar, I didn't quite recognize it so I guessed Oud Bouquet...and I was so pleasantly surprised when my answer was correct. Oud Bouquet smells nice on paper, but the sensual magic of this stunning fragrance is released when it touches the female skin; caramel sweetened creamy vanilla, blanketed in waves of smooth oud (not the medicinal barnyard variety), and enhanced with gentle floral kisses of subtle rose and seductive saffron. Oud Bouquet is nothing short of Awesome!!! Performance is stellar as it lasts a honest 12-hours, projects well above average, and leaves a nice scent trail for the first 3-4 hours. I just realized this fragrance reminds me a bit of Mancera Aoud Vanille which is also in my Scent Armory. However, the similarities are less than 50% and having both is certainly not redundant IMO. To me, Aoud Vanille has a slightly more woody-masculine feel and is better suited for the gents. Dudes, buy a bottoe of Oud Bouquet for that special lady in your life and you'll thank me later...just not while you're standing with your pants around your ankles. LOL!!!

I blind bought a tester of Lancome Oud Bouquet off of FragranceNet for only $37 and it’s quite outstanding. It’s a sweet rose/oud, perhaps the sweetest rose/oud combination I’ve ever tried that does seem, at least, to have some oud in it, though way in the background beyond a sweet rose/vanilla/praline/saffron combination. In that respect, it’s similar to other rose/vanilla fragrances like Montale Intense Café, Mancera Roses Vanilla, or Jo Malone Velvet Rose & Oud, but Oud Bouquet is sweeter than any of these, yet still somehow rich and overly sweet, at least not for my sweet-loving nose. Fans of sweet rose and rose/oud fragrances will certainly like this, as it feels like the extreme realization of a rose/vanilla mix with some heft and class, not totally a gourmand or over-the-top yet still pushing the boundary on how sweet a rose fragrance can be. It’s not candyish, either, along the lines of Kyse Perfumes Confit de Rose, but is nonetheless a little creamy with the vanilla and praline notes, of which the vanilla is certainly more noticeable than the praline. I imagine the saffron is more or less the connective tissue that adds a background herbal/floral quality that keeps the fragrance classy and from shifting wholly toward the gourmand. Currently the pricing is the same $37 on FragranceNet for the same 75ml tester, which in my opinion, is a steal, and it’s easily worth double, given that it feels like a high-quality creation. I just ordered a backup bottle, myself. Jump on that deal! Overall, an impressive, elegant, very-sweet-but-not-too-much rose/oud, and an easy winner for fans of sweet and rose fragrances. 8 out of 10

Absolute decadence in a bottle, both in design and in execution. Praline, praline, praline. Partnered well with vanilla. Only it's not all sweetness. The rose is so velvety, so smooth. The oud just gives this concoction an added depth and complexity that it rightly deserves. It's a friendly oud (maybe for some, not enough). And then finally, the saffron, which gives it a soft heat and earthiness to stop it from going over the top. I love wearing it just for the sake of wearing as it gives me such joy and makes me feel really sexy. Alas, the hot and humid climate I live in prevents me from wearing it in the daytime so my Oud Bouquet is limited to special nights when I'm in the mood for decadence. Sillage and longevity are fantastic. The juice is an oilier consistency when sprayed so be forewarned against spraying on light coloured clothing. Also, a warning about overspraying as two sprays is more than enough. In fact, I can get by with a single spray on my décolletage or my neck. Lasts for days. I can smell it on my pillowcase too and I go to sleep enveloped in praline clouds and soft rose petals. It's just hit me, though, the store I bought my Oud Bouquet from has sold out of it and I'll have to find somewhere to get my backup bottle. I'm worried about blind buying the new version as that seems to be a lesser offspring based on what I've read. Funny enough Oud Bouquet was my first ever blind buy. Happily it was a marvelous success. My only regret is that it had to come this late.

Gülün, vanilya ve pralin ile tatlanmış hali ön plana çıkarak, güçlü bir şekilde kendisini hissettiriyor. Zaman geçip koku yerleştikçe bu tatlı, yumuşak ve kremsi hal alışı, kişinin kullandıkça kokuya daha da bağımlı hale gelmesini sağlıyor. Evet koku tatlı ve kremsi ancak buradaki tatlılık öyle iç bayıcı, ağır bir tatlılık değil. Her şey çok güzel harmanlanmış ve dengelenmiş. Hiçbir nota kişiyi bunaltacak derecede güçlü değil. Açıkçası hem kadına hem de erkeğe hitap eden bir koku olarak tanımlansa da, ud ile birlikte odunsu notaların başlangıçta kendisini hissettirdiği anlarda bile, bu koku benim için kesinlikle kadınsı bir koku. Hatta benim için başlangıçtaki ud ve odunsu notaların hissedildiği anlar kokuya derinlik katan, onu daha çekici bir hale sokan detayların başlangıcı. Belirtmem gereken bir diğer husus ise kokunun kalıcılığının ve yayılımının çok iyi oluşu. Özellikle kış aylarında kullanmayı tercih ettiğim, gün boyu kokusunun varlığıyla beni mutlu eden, girdiğim her ortamda da dikkat çekmeyi başaran bir bağımlılık o benim için.

I have a more detailed review of this perfume in the newer formulation's page. In this older version, the Oud is just the teeniest bit sharper, with rougher edges and the other notes are maybe overshadowed by it especially in the opening. The differences are insignificant really, I was curious enough to get a bottle of this version to compare it to the new one but because also this bottle, with the mosaic rose, is just gorgeous. I was born and raised in the middle east and growing up, it almost felt like the air there smelled like Oud. It is a note that I exclusively associate with the Arab culture. Maybe because of my (over)exposure to it I always thought that I didn't like it and had someone told me that I would one day own an Oud-y perfume I would have thought 'cuckoo'. My new found appreciation of this note reinforces that scents can evoke nostalgia almost as strongly as photos and other memorabilia do. Over time certain notes that you dislike can turn into likes and sometimes loves just because of the memories attached to it. I don't think I would have appreciated this perfume as much I do now if I had still been living in the middle east. To me, this just smells like home!

Oh boy! Here we go. First of all this review is based on a bottle of the original formulation. Aside from the pretty bottle I really like this fragrance. Hear me out... I know a lot of people dislike this perfume but I am one of the few that has just the right chemistry for it. I only used 1 spray on my wrist and then gently dabbed them together. This fragrance is strong. For the first 3-4 hours it projects a few feet around me and then it slowly becomes a scent that can be smelled around arm's length. On my skin the opening is a strong oud scent with a hint of rose. I may smell a little bit of the saffron but it is well hidden. Around 30 minutes in the vanilla and praline start to show. The oud starts to step back and lets the vanilla and praline take over while still being able to smell the rose. After 90 minutes there is a stronger note of vanilla with the praline and rose still very present but the oud and saffron are now gone. The fragrance stays this way on my skin for a good 7-8 hours. I don't recommend blind buying this fragrance even if you like all the notes it contains. I also cannot comment on the reformulated version and its scent/performance.

There are some fragrances that are so beautiful it's overwhelming and makes it hard to write a coherent review. This is absolutely one of them. idk. Stunning. Perfect. Masterpiece. There's not much I could say that hasn't already been said. I'm lucky enough to own a full bottle of the old formulation. Although other mind-blower fragrances are created each year, the fact that this is so classic and even 'traditional' only intensifies my emotional attachment to it. For me it's ahegao inducing sexy, comforting, sophisticated, warm and deep. Not enough praise could be given. Anyone who likes it could wear it. It's beast mode for sure, and sweet (that's sweet, NOT gourmand) with a complex yet gentle woody/slightly powdery base. Rose and saffron create a little lift but amplifies the magnetism. It is heavy though. It could be for all year round and for any occasion with a possible exception for high summer and ultra-casual situations. It's my equivalent to Chanel no.5, my roman empire. The fact that this dna is one of the basic foundations of middle eastern perfumery proves that it will always reign supreme. Truly legendary.

UPDATE: I did a total 180 on this! it's true, I still don't usually love oud, but this is ouxi done RIGHT! Not stinly, just a little (wonderfully) medicinal overtone which is what gives it that unique, sexy depth and mystique, and it's what makes it a true OUD, not just some cheap chemical wanna-be, and I'm not saying you have to break the bank, I scored my large bottle for under $70 ;) I take back what I said about the lack of sweetness in my original review. The gourmand notes DO come out. and that sweet delcious rose, making it unbelievably seductive on a woman, yet never vulgar. it's a mysterious, alluring, seductive, exotic fragrance. I went from "meh" to "I need backups, STAT!" i don't think I've been this enchanted and obsessed with a perfume since Dior Addict, Angel, Pink Sugar, and Lolita Lempicka, and those are all pretty old. I can't wait to try Lancome's other out offerings too! I guess I do like oud after all, so long as it's done right :)

I thought Mancera and Montale dominates the oud game. This one is balance of everything, there is also some notes that arent mentioned. The rose is up front the oud is at the base and the sweet vibe of the ethyl maltol from the praline note compliments every note. There is a bit of freshness. I thought this smells like OSM but this is more of the rose and chocolate with oud at the base. Aoud vanille which is a contentender of "sweet ouds" is really heavy and has that heady powdery vanilla base while this has not, but here you can clearly detect the perfectly balanced rose oud combo but the vanilla doesn't blur their identities. OSM is sweeter but this one is much more of the rose oud vanilla perfectly done right. If I have to choose between Aoud Vanille or this, I would easily grab this one because the beautiful rose note here is much more regal and opulent. To the other reviewer here, oud is supposedly sharp and pungent, so is a potent rose.

FIRST - This bottle is STUNNING!!!!! I literally just stare at the bottle half the time because of how unique and gorgeous it is. This perfume is perfect for winter!! I have literally worn it so much this winter and it is perfect for the cold weather. I have a travel size of the 2016 version and had to get this one because of the bottle mostly ;). For some reason i do smell a difference in them but very very slight. This one i smell more praline and the 2016 one i smell more woods. This scent is soooo unique and have grown to LOVE IT. My first time spraying it it smelled like rubbing alcohol. But then i waited and about after 5 minutes the praline, rose and vanilla started to come out and i was stunned! The opening of the fragrance is very oudy, but give it about 5 minutes and the sweet notes come out. Very unique fragrance with heavy sillage and very long longevity! 9/10 fragrance!

I was lucky enough to buy 5 ml of the original formulation of this. Oud Bouquet is branching really far out from my usual taste, which is normally: golden, yellow-type, jasmine, tuberose, osmanthus, whipped cream, praline... I have very “daytime” girly-scent tastes. Well, this fragrance is a sultry, dark change of pace for me. I’ve been wearing it on a storm-cloudy afternoon, and it’s so perfect. That dark-wood smell from the oud, the dripping, sticky-sweet praline-coated rose... warm and mysterious and comforting. The praline comes out and gets salty in the dry down. I feel like my normally sunny self decided to dress like Morticia Addams today, and I’m arranging some dark red roses while eating chocolate truffles in the warmly-lit wood-paneled drawing room of my mansion. I will remember this fragrance for days when I want to reproduce that vibe, it’s very decadent and yummy.

I appreciate that Lancome managed to create a convincing Middle Eastern praline-sweet, rose/oud mix. This type of scent is an absolute standard in the Middle Eastern fragrance category. The oud is a tiny bit medicinal (which I like) mixed with the gourmand sweetness of praline, jammy rose, with a bit of saffron on top. Lancome's version of this classic Arabian profile is carefully balanced. The sharp edges have been sanded down somewhat to give it more mass appeal without abandoning its authentic feel. The drydown leans more on temperate oud and saffron, but still retains a light, non-syrupy sweetness. I really like it, but I find the sillage and longevity to be more conservative than what I'm used to with Middle Eastern fragrances. The price point is hard to justify when you can get *very* similar scent profiles from genuine ME perfumeries for a small fraction of the cost.

I blind bought Lancôme Oud Bouquet perfume during the summer when Arizona was over 120 degrees so notes that showed up on my skin were different than now in winter at 65. It was strictly a Oud scent in the heat, beast projection to 6 feet with trail, last 6 hours. Now in the cool temperatures this perfume smells completely different! I finally understand why people call it gourmand because the praline, vanilla and powdery notes show up. Zero florals appear still and Oud is subtle now allowing other notes to shine. I like this perfume so much better in the winter! Projection is still to 6 feet with a trail but isn’t overpowering like it was in the heat. Lasts longer, 8 hours but skin scent after 5 hours on my dry skin. Test this perfume on your skin before buying. Decants are offered on EBay. I recommend this perfume for late fall and winter unless you live in cold climate.

This was a blind buy and I am so happy that I did! I immediately loved it, I couldn't stop my nose. The bottle is beautiful but the juice is simply gorgeous. The Oud and the rose are both equally presents with that Vanilla warmth that wrapped it's arms around me all night long. The first time I wore it I was complimented by a man. The second time a woman. When I wear this I feel like I am in a cloud of gorgeous oud and roses. Some say they cannot smell the oud much but this drys down so beautifully to reveal it. It is there the next day on my blouse and I can smell it still on my skin and hair. If you decide to wear it be sure you will be living in it as it is a beastie. So all in all this is one of my favourite Rose & Oud combinations. This is so divine and one I will always want to buy more of. I have two bottles of the original and I am yet to try the reformulation.

went back and forth on this fragrance. I finally got a sample. OMG! i love it. At first I thought i sprayed the wrong bottle because i was expecting something with more rose. but, all i got was a slight sweet incense note with some honey. And, there is no honey listed. so, i went back and sprayed the other arm with OUD BOUQUET. It was definitely correct bottle. Yup. sweet and a little honey. Dry down, very distinctive sweet praline with slight floral rose. very slight rose. barely there. Kind of reminds me of Delina Esclusif but much stronger. I am very happy and will be wearing it all winter long. It is not a wallflower perfume. you will leave a trail and even those wearing masks, will still smell it. I am sort of happy to use it all alone at home. I get to enjoy the scent and spray a much of it as I like. My dogs are fine with whatever fragrance I choose. :-)
