Parfait de Rôses

What this scent lacks in complexity it makes up for in form. The soapiness of straight rose is offset by the sweet, slightly tart deliciousness of liqueur that sits this fragrance comfortably in the gourmand category. It calls to mind images of macarons and the previously mentioned cakes and Turkish delights. It's as if someone took a lush, voluptuous pink rose, sifted powdered sugar over it, and dipped it in a bottle of its own nectar. As the fragrance dies down, it loses a bit of that tart edge and settles into a fine pink dusting powder. This part reminded me of Flower by Kenzo, save that it's considerably lighter than Flower in character. Not everyone will like that Parfait de Roses is simple and sweet, but I don't think it will induce headaches or nausea either. I don't know if Parfait de Roses is special enough to warrant its hefty price tag, but if you love roses and dessert, you'll probably want this. EDIT: After reading what Lancome sought to accomplish with this line of perfumes, I appreciate Parfait all the more because I feel it met the stylistic goal of being a 'wine' showcasing different facets of one ingredient, this one being rose. I also agree with the review immediately above this one--the dry down smells like cocoa powder. EDIT EDIT: What's up with the notes? As far as I've read, Parfait de Roses doesn't contain aldehydes/a couple of the other notes listed. From Lancome's website: Nathalie Lorson has masterminded a stunning assemblage of two extractions of Rose Centifolia. The Rose Centifolia distillate gives the fragrance a natural, fruity floral freshness which evokes the scent of rose fields that wafts in the air around Grasse. As for the Rose in infusion, it reveals sweet, hazy, well-rounded notes, playing with the inflections of the distillate. This pairing is accentuated by wisps of heady incense and brightened up deliciously by essence of pink pepper. Invigorating, voluptuous, sensual. The Liqueur of Rose signature completes this delicate accord with a dusky veil woven with ciste labdanum, vanilla absolute and Tolu Balsam. Heady and sensual, this fruity floriental wraps us in a gourmand veil of irresistible sweetness.

If there was anything from this collection that needs to be revived in its full, unapologetic glory, it's this one. It's Giffard's Rose Liqueur with a healthy, saccharine dose of rose jam straight from the jar itself. It's sweet in a way you didn't really know would be possible in a rose perfume but done with such measured intent that even if you cannot stand roses and/or gourmands, smelling it would at least elicit a small nod of approval. It's rich, it's dense, it's not shy but not screaming either. I remember putting it on my wrist for a work day test and even after a grueling shift, it stayed with a really modest and appreciable sillage despite being placed on a weird spot. Sure, it smells shampoo-y in some regard, especially after it warms up and melts into the skin, but it fades into a cloud of pure sugared vanilla and honey, syrupy and creamy without being milky. It's my 'treat' scent, the scent I wear on days when I know I have nothing to do but enjoy my time out and about. I consider layering this but find myself wanting to preserve its identity. Maybe one day, I'd let a private perfumer take a crack at making a closer dupe for me or maybe go about finding ways to reduce some of the sweetness or introduce something to it JUST so I can find a reason to wear it more often. It's like I have found the Source of The Rose Gourmand, from which many of the best rose gourmands had been blessed with a tincture of. It's the rose filling sandwiched between the almond-flaked, lightly salted, lemon-squeezed pastries of Rose D'Amalfi in its purest, most honeyed form. It's what the natural extract that the artificial BTSO Mad Honey wants so badly to be: real Rose Honey meets 'Rose Honey' Flavor. It's what ATH Belle De Nuit could be without all the marshmallows and decadent mandarin jam. I feel profoundly at a loss why Lancome would ever chop their Maison line, let alone this beauty, but alas, maybe this is the reason why good things aren't meant to last.

This smells exactly like rose Turkish delight! I'm usually not a fan of sweet powdery fragrances, but I loved this one. The longevity is great: I sprayed my wrists in the shop this morning, and I could still smell it when I moved my arms about 10 hours later. The scent doesn't develop much, but it remains the same delicious Turkish delight throughout. It's a pity it is only sold in a 100ml bottle, and it is pretty expensive. I do not see it as an everyday perfume for myself, as I would probably get bored of this sweet perfume, but I'd have loved to have a small bottle of it to wear on cold gloomy days. Update: The longevity is crazy. I sprayed it on my wrist and a bit on the sleeve in a shop and the smell stayed for over a week until I sprayed something stronger on top. I'd even say, it's so long-lasting that you'd get sick of it sooner than it disappears. Updated 1.5 years later: I have been obsessing about Parfait de Roses ever since. But the price!.. I tried to find a similar scent, because it seemed not to hard at all: rose, vanilla, tonka... But no, nothing compares to it. You can get a jammy rose, a sweet rose, but Parfait de Roses is sweet like powdered rose-scented sugar and slightly sour like red berries at the same time. All the notes are working to make it cloying and tooth-achingly sweet, but it isn't, there is always something counter-balancing it. I finally gave in, especially because I found a 30% off offer. I can wear it all day and not get tired of it. I especially love spraying it on my hair. It evokes an image of a kitchy powdered wig a la Marie Antoinette decorated with dried roses. You are at a party, drinking rose liquor and eating Turkish delight, meringe and macarons.

I had to delete my previous review, because I felt like it did injustice to this fragrance. 'Parfait de Rôses' is Turkish Delight elegantly woven into perfume. I'd like to start by saying this was definitely not a love-at-first-sniff for me. Actually the opposite! I thought to myself how can THIS be a $200 fragrance?! But now after testing it a few times on my skin I'm starting to love 'Parfait de Rôses' & even CRAVE it. Now this fragrance smells SEN-SATIONAL in the nozzle: super-sweet, powdery rose liqueur. So feminine, uplifting and luscious! However, it's less saccharine on my skin. First spray on me is fresh, sugar roses...but this quickly settles into the rose liqueur within 5 minutes and becomes less sweet than the opening. Rose liqueur is fermented roses, so it's not supposed to be sugary. But yea, that's exactly what it smells like. Within 30 minutes that liqueur scent gets...more airy and powdery. It turns into a softly-sweet rose powder but with far more substance: the tonka, orris etc. Now I can see why people compare this to Turkish Delight. Longevity is pretty strong, and once I spray it on my skin it gets EVERYWHERE. I've smelt it on my pillow for days!! The silage however is arm's length, and will need a couple of sprays to get noticed. After smelling multiple Maison Lancôme fragrances, this is definitely one of the best in the line along with 'Rôses Berberanza'. For me these two place higher than even 'Oud Bouqet'. Turkish Delight and Pistachio Baklava with roses <3 'Parfait de Rôses' is a delectable, sophisticated take on roses without being cloying or overly-gourmand. P.S. I'll update whether I receive compliments.

A larger than life rose dessert. One of the sweetest floral gourmands I have ever smelled, and very intense too. This can easily transfer to all your clothes and make everything smell like it for a week, so be careful if you like to change fragrances daily like I do. It smells wonderful though. Layers of real delicious rose jelly, natural vanilla cream, tonka reminiscent of cherries and almonds without a hint of scratchiness, warm benzoin in the background, a hint of powder and of strawberry scented plastic dolls. It smells like something Barbie would wear, but in the best and most elegant way possible. If scents had a color it would absolutely be pink. Contrary to other reviewers I don't find it very boozy, the liqueur note is rather subdued to my nose. Every time I sampled this I loved it but thought it doesn't suit me. Today I asked my fiancé for his opinion and he said it would suit me. It reminded him of sweet fluffy cotton candy and apparently I'm sweet and fluffy, too. Sometimes I wish I could see myself through his eyes. I love the Maison Lancôme line in general and would love to collect several of these, but with the steep prices, I have to draw the line somewhere. Parfait de Rôses would only be a special occasion scent for me, it's just too much for my everyday life and I also already own their other sweet rose, Rôses Berberanza. So I guess I won't be buying this anytime soon, but I recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone who loves gourmands, roses and fragrances that perform.

I luckily managed to snag a bottle that someone was decluttering, and WOW this fragrance is both everything and nothing I expected it to be! Initially, it doesn't smell like anything necessarily too special: it's definitely a syrupy Rose + Vanilla from the start with a peppery note, essentially evoking a similar experience to Lady Vengeance by JHAG (Only in the Opening, this is NOT a dupe to Parfait de Roses at all!). This spiciness gradually fades within 30 minutes, and you're left with an intoxicating sweet rose vanilla combo with an added hint of booziness. I think this is the part that people describe as similar to Turkish Delight, and it remains mostly linear all the way until the dry down, with the vanilla eventually overpowering the rose note. Parfait de Roses also has the added benefit (and disadvantage) of being one of the most nuclear perfumes in my collection: it can fill a room in seconds with just 2 sprays, I'm in a perpetual scent bubble for the first few hours, and even after showering that day (7+ hours later), I was still able to slightly smell the drydown on my wrists! Just be careful not to overspray as it can get cloying for you and anyone within a 6 Metre radius! TL;DR: Amazing scent, stellar performance (but don't overspray!), but isn't anything OVERLY unique and is definitely not worth the asking price of some listings you see on the internet.

So, I looked up the French-to-English translation of "parfait," and it means "perfect," or "a perfect resemblance." This totally makes sense, as Lancome is trying to highlight the unique facets of 2 different varieties of roses with this fragrance and their Roses Berberanza. The reason why I looked up the meaning of "parfait" is because I kept seeing this perfume compared to dessert parfaits, and I don't find this fragrance at all chocolatey, cakey or dessert-like. It IS sweet though; I think Ms. insolence's description is apt, which likens Parfait de Roses to her grandma's sugary rose petal jam. However, fragrance is so subjective, right?! I definitely don't want to discredit anyone's characterization of ANY perfume; I'm merely offering my own experience of this perfume to help others understand or imagine it more effectively. I also smell a funky note in the opening that sticks around throughout most of the development. It might be the liquor note, as it has a kind of fermented quality to me?This note offers a contrast to the sweet, syrupy rose. It smells to me how I understand indoles to smell and, after a handful of wearings, I've decided I like it. In short, Parfait de Roses is a sweet, jammy rose fragrance with just enough funk to present a little challenge. I thought I preferred Roses Berberanza but now I'm not sure- they're both quite beautiful!

God Almighty! I just pulled an all-nighter thanks to this, and not only that i am not happy, but my cat is not wanting to have anything to do with me either, since yesterday. Husband is hanging in there... At work. I bought Parfait de Roses last year, from the great Oman dude on eBay. Similarly to all other perfumes I receive, I wore it for about a week, and to the cabinet it went, not to be touched since then. Till yesterday. 1 o clock. PM. Don't know what propelled me to do 2 sprays (I am a strictly 1 spray person), but I instantly knew that this juice has changed, sitting there in the darkness, aging in silence. The potency of it is not what I remember, although I have to admit it was pretty potent when I first got it. Now, a year later, this thing is nuclear. And I mean nuclear, sugar-rose bomb, that still keeps going, 30 minutes short of 24 hours. Didn't let me sleep a wink, cat disassociated herself from me, still nowhere to be found, and now that this fume is winding down, I can finally shower and abstain from perfume for about a week. This is probably one of the 10 prettiest, most feminine perfumes I have, but man, I think with this one, half a spray would suffice, if half a spray was possible. Nonetheless, beautiful stuff.

This is one of those I tested a long time ago and never could fully get out of my head... Fast forward nearly a year and I still remember the rose and chocolate martini perfection that is Parfait de Roses. I took a small risk by purchasing a travel spray, unsure of my memory, but I'm now certain a full-size bottle will be in my future. The opening is a burst of roses which, if they had a color, would be deep, cool crimson. At the risk of mixing my metaphors between martinis and parfaits, I will say the development is like a true parfait...there is a layer of rose jam as well as fluffy vanilla cakes drenched in liqueur (here it is chocolate), blanketed with something thick and creamy that will destroy a diet, and lastly dusted with powdered sugar or cocoa, the effect aided here by orris and benzoin. Parfait de Roses is grown-up girly, sexy, mysterious, and playful. It's one of Lancome's best, with their characteristic well-rounded rose and decadent sweets enhanced by magnificent sillage and longevity. One spray lasts 24 hours plus. While the boozy rose theme is ubiquitous at the moment, this one's a clear winner and well worth the price tag. 10/10

I'm not sure which one I love more, Rôses Berberanza or this Parfait de Rôses, but one thing is for sure: Lancôme really cracked the code of how to do a spectacularly indulgent, delicious gourmand rose that's still wearable. It's like a more sophisticated version of those Kyse scents which I also love, but which are so conspicuously gourmand that I rarely wear them outside. Compared to its sister, this one is a warmer, softer, slightly darker variety, even more edible, with lots of vanilla and a wonderfully boozy edge. I imagine it could easily become too much on a warm day, but for the colder seasons it's really perfect! Just a warning, though: it's very easy to overspray - the first time I tested it, I didn't know its power, and it lasted for three days, through several showers as well. Just a little goes a long way, in other words, which is always a bonus, and especially with an expensive line as this one. I'm going to start saving for a real bottle of one of these Rôses now, but it'll be hard to decide which one: I think I'm leaning towards this one, but then I always think I love the one I'm wearing at that moment the most...

Parfait de Roses, simply put, is Turkish delight liquefied and made into a perfume! It is mouth-wateringly delicious smelling, light (as in airy), powdery, sweet but not jammy, vanillic rose. The rose note here reminds me more of rose water used to flavour food rather than your typical, more floral rose. It is very different from the other gourmand rose, Roses Berbaranza, from the Mason Lancome line, which is a thick, dense, honeyed, jammy rose. The performance on this is one of the best I have experienced. My only gripe with this fragrance is that once it has been on my skin for 10+ hours, the rose, which is one of the key notes, fades leaving behind an almost weird smell, like roses when they wilt, which I dislike. However, this only happens after it has performed beautifully on my skin for many hours and is something I can overlook. I much prefer Parfait de Roses to Roses Berbaranza and it is one of my favorites from this line. This is not blind buy safe but I would highly recommend that you try it and soon, as I hear this one is being discontinued.

When I smell Parfait De Roses, I envision plush, fully mature, velvety pink roses with white borders, and the dew drops on their petals are made of pure sugar crystals. The liquor note is absolutely genius here. I think this scent is too elevated to be sexy, but also too complex and interesting to be cute. It is a bit of magic in a bottle. It's just so good...one of the few scents that has legitimately made my eyes roll back in ecstasy. It's too special to be a daily signature scent, IMO. I put it on when I need an extra boost to reach "happy." Plain and simple. I do agree with a reviewer that said Memo Lalibela is a passable dupe, but (big but), must be willing to ride with that patchouli stage in Lalibela. Oh shoot, what am I saying. You can't dupe Parfait. Sorry! 😔 Truly one-of-a-kind. Edited to add: you can find bottles floating around; prepare to tap your savings to make it yours, though.

I finally got my hands on a full bottle of this Beauty!!! This is such a beautiful, gourmand and well blended Rose!!! This is definitely on the sweet side but it is primarily a Rose. If I had to rank it, Parfait de Rôse would be a regal Duchess. Not a Queen, because to me Delina (Parfums de Marly) is THE Queen Rose but Parfait is Her best Friend and confidante. She is refined, regal and very much in charge! A lot like Queen Marie-Antoinette and La Polignac (though I am not certain Polignac was a Duchess, she was probably a Countess), anywhoooo, you get my drift, Parfait is beautiful, sure of herself, not shy, loud enough but not obnoxious, incredibly decadent and nothing smells like her!!! I absolutely love it!! Longevity: 8+ hours Sillage: medium Projection: arm’s length Price: yeah...I paid an arm and a leg for this bottle of happiness but I don’t care, it was worth it to me!😆😆🌹🌹

A super luxurious and refined rose wine scent. I think comparing this to Mancera RosesVanille etc is a travesty as the ingredients which went into this is really expensive and non artificial smelling. It just creates an invisible cloud of sugary rose liqueur around me that smells neither like beer or anything strange. Nathalie Lorson 's composition is indeed a work of art. It can be worn all year round except in the hot summer but this is not an everyday occasion fragrance.Perfect for an elegant gala or an evening in the opera.PdR(Parfait de Roses) is like a rose fine wine that one saves for special occasions while RB(Roses Berberanza which was launched at the same time ) is an exotic rose based dessert.

This is an absolutely beautiful fragrance, but I feel it's too feminine for my taste, alone that is... What I did to see if I could add something to it was spray 3 sprays of Parfait de Roses, one on my left wrist, one on the left side of my shirt, and one on the left side of my neck, then I took Armani Prive Royal Oud and sprayed one spray on my right collarbone. You can't spray the oud directly on top of PdR because it's too strong and cancels out the beautiful Parfait de Roses, that's why it's important to separate them. Turned out very nice! I like it better than most rose/oud fragrances out there. Very sexy fragrance, indeed, and I'm grateful to have been able to sample it.

Your interpretation is surely the correct one and definitely makes sense to me when explained. Oh, and to Sabretoothkitten: I can't buy ANY of the Maison Lancome line in my area! Macys online just got most of the line on their site but Bloomingdales online has them all, including the $35 travel sprays which is how I've been testing Parfait de Roses! EDIT: It looks like you actually can't get all of the Maison Lancome line in the travel size, as I haven't been able to find Lavandes Trianon in the mini.

I like this a lot. I have been steering toward gourmands for the past year. This made me get a new perspective on rose fragrances. Rose fragrances are not my all time favorite. But this is one syrupy, juicy rose jelly. It does start out boozy. And I like boozy fragrances. But it doesn’t last. This one is a powerhouse. At about 6 hours after testing it initially, it reminded me of Van Cleef’s orchid vanille taken up a notch and with more rose. This is delicious. And the bottle is really gorgeous. It’s pricey but , you will get a lot of bang for your buck. 2 sprays and I’m ready to go .

Bought another collector back up bottle!! Thank you lovely Elle. This is so gorgeous and lush!! The Orris is just as present as the rose. Parfait de roses is a dense, chewy rose (Turkish delight) with a powdery texture. Exquisite! I don’t get anything too boozy or someonesaid shampoo??? No, not a trace here. The aldehydes had a much needed lift and space for the notes to breathe. Otherwise this could become a cheap, cloying mess in lesser hands. Nathalie Lorson is so gifted. All this deliciousness is grounded in Tonka, olibanum and fuzzy benzoin. Bring it back Lancome!

I really waited too long to purchase this. Thankfully, about nine months ago, I found a large bottle at a fair price. It's lovely and sweet with vanilla, yet has a bit of spice, a lush red rose liquor, a whisper of iris, a dash of incense and a mild oud. It lasts and lasts. I have to sit back and inhale. It's addictive. Real vanilla, almost like gourmet vanilla ice cream, and loukham. But, it's for all ages! It's all but gone online. If you are interested at all, if you see it for less than $300.00 USD, grab it. Lancome has long discontinued it -what a crime!!!

This is an all time favorite of mine. I have a full 100ml bottle, and now I’m afraid to use it since I hear it is getting discontinued. I guess I’ll have to buy a backup bottle. However, this is a soft, powdery pink rose with flashes of vanilla and liqueur. While Roses Berberanza is jammy and thick, this is the complete opposite. It is a light airy powdery rose with vanilla. It smells like the treat rahat loukum, which my grandmother always ate with her coffee. I love this, and I’m so disappointed to see Lancome let go of this beauty. We should protest!

I'm wearing this fragrance today and had to write a quick review, despite it being criminally discontinued. Performance-wise, this thing is nuclear, but without being gross. Yes, it can be over-sprayed and I have to watch out for that 😉. But the scent stays true for hours and hours. It's a lovely sweet rose, with a little aldehyde and orris thrown in for balanced. Don't get me wrong-- it IS sweet and thick, but in the best way. Why Lancôme discontinued this line, I'll never know, but will always resent them for it. 🌹

Another blind buy success! I was hoping for a vanilla rose scent, and this is exactly it. The initial spray had me concerned. I do not like what I perceive to be an alcohol/fermented note. Fortunately, that goes away after a few minutes and what I get is a fluffy, delicious, icing sugared rose. Those who mention this is like a rose scented vanille orchidee from Van Cleef are spot on! Maison Lancome is very impressive so far, this is the fourth in my collection and I can't wait to try others.

A sumptuous delicious rose, morphing into a gourmand after a few hours. Upon opening, it’s a fresh, jammy sublime rose...sprayed on at 11 am, at 5.30pm there’s a chocolately nougat quality to it. Any fragrance that can last more than 6 hours and is clearly able to be discerned and continues to transform positively on the skin has my vote. I bought it happily today, it’s one of the stars from the Maison Range. Unisex....I don’t think so, but that’s just me.

Parfait won me over at first spray. Its modern interpretation of rose jam liquour with a sweet vanillic tonka base balances out the roses. The opening is stunning then it levels out for a fairly long while of rose liquor..then the dry down begins and the tolu and other base notes make it interesting again. Its fairly big on sillage like the grand scents of old and lasts a very long time. You do get your moneys worth. Feminine, and dreamy

Wow! I don't even know what to say. Seriously. I am not sure what I am smelling is real or not, that's how good it is! An hour ago I was sure there is not a single rose perfume that can beat Oud Satin Mood, but holly **it, what in the heck is this? Last week I bought a bottle from Dubai, after reading all the reviews, and it was the best decision ever! Parfait de Roses is simply magical!

Like a big pink fluffy rosy powdery marshmallow. Just divine. Kayali sweet diamond is sweeter and fruitier like a berry rose jam, it’s not round and creamy like this one. This one projects better on me and is obviously higher in quality. I love both. Contemplating stocking up on decants. So very smooth, nothing cloying here. Love it. Why discontinue?

This is absolutely stunning. I get a sweet jammy rose and aldehydes. To my nose this comes off as rose scented sunscreen and I mean that in the best way possible. This could easily be a signature for me. I think this could work beautifully in the summer and hot days. But all you need is 2-3 sprays tops.

the ultimate rose... she is such a beauty. could turn any rose hater into a devotee. your jammiest and sweetest rose paired with the most decadent creamy facet. you know those yogurt hard candies that are red/pink and creamed swirled? visually that's what I see when I smell this perfume.

Can't even explain how good this perfume is. So soft, sweet, warming fragnance ❤. I clearly hear liquor, rose, vanila, and caramel. Yes it's rare but I can tell you for sure it's worth every penny. Who likes gourmand fragrances this is the perfume you'll love !

Turkish delight!! This reminds me of a less sweet and slightly less waxy Transversee du boshphore. The texture is more chewy/waxy than jammy or powdery like Loukhoum, which I’m also reminded of. Really beautiful and I’m looking for a partial bottle :)

I just got a decant from royalty scents and my god this fragrance makes me feel things. I love this so much. I need the biggest bottle and I need to smell like this everyday. It’s like a creamier version of Lancome tresor midnight rose. I LOVE IT.

Absolutely amazing! It smells like Turkish Delight! No joke.That's the reason I blind bought it, and it's bang on. Turkish Delight. And it's STRONG - 2 sprays is plenty for a work day. Apparently this has been discontinued. Wonderful sweet stuff.

Been looking for Parfait De Roses for a long time... so long that I decided to layer a few fragrances and get something similar. The closest I’ve came up with is layering Mancera Roses Vanille and The Dua Dark Chocolate, Rum & Vanilla!

Sweet creamy Turkish delight rose. This is not a cut rose scent, it’s a rose flavor scent. Rose frosting, rose liqueur, a vanilla rose cookie... my mouth is watering, excuse me. So bright, sweet and delicious! Blind buy win!

This is the perfect gourmand rose. I was lucky enough to get a new bottle on eBay and I love it so much! Powdery rose, vanilla and liquor really stand out to me. I wish it wasn't discontinued.

I at first smelt Parfait de Roses and Roses Berberanza together at a Lancôme counter, before testing them more thouroughly one after another. According to Lancôme, these two rose fragrances showcase two different types of roses in perfumery: Rose Centifolia and Rose Damascena, respectively. Smelling them side by side, the two roses contrast each other like light and shadow, and I think Lancôme did succeed in hightlighting certain special characteristics of these two different types of roses. Parfait de Roses is full of radiance thanks to the central Rose Centifolia accord. Its plush, honeyed sweetness reminds me of a delectable rose centifolia jam that I had tasted before, and yet it's adorned with a mild tartness and a bit of the green leafy aspect, as if it won't simply give up its vegetal life even after being turned into an exquisite jam. The rose liqueur accord is soon poured within. Its intense, rich sweetness turns the composition even more decadent. The balance between luscious sweetness and saccharine toothache is a fine line to walk, and the subtle vegetal greenery and the round tartness of the liqueur accord did manage to help Parfait de Roses to hold its ground. But unfortunately, after about 3 hours, a generic gourmand creamy base starts to materialize and evetually sweep all over the composition. The intense sweetness of rose liqueur then turns on the rose centifolia accord and chokes her into oblivion. The aftermath is a saccharine, monotonous creamy rose base until the end. I experienced a heavy to moderate sillage and a 9-hour longevity. I was delightfully charmed by the lively opening of Parfait de Roses, a near perfect balance between natural floralcy and gourmand decadence. However, the monolithic, commercial creamy gourmand dry down left me utterly disappointed. It's as if Lancôme suddenly gets cold feet after the interesting opening, and proceeds to cling back onto the conventional gourmand base, which is a pattern that I experienced with other fragrances from this Grand Cru collection as well. If you happen to be looking for a rose jam fragrance, I'd definitely suggest Parfait de Roses, as its opening is among the most dynamic ones that I had previously tried. But I'd recommend waiting for the dry down as well, in order to have a more thourough idea about it.

It was a rollercoaster ride with Parfait De Roses at first but boy, what a fragrance. It's so much more than a sugary rose. It's a glorious composition of rich, liquer-y vanilla, incense, resins and orris and of course, rose. But instead of rose as the centerpiece, it's rose in the form of a giant pink silk bow that ties it all together. It is absolutely decadent & divine and about as perfect as a gourmand rose can get. A friend gave me a hug and said, "Mmmm you smell good... Cocoa butter?!" It was a noisy setting so I didn't bother explaining that no, it's rose and not just any rose... Instead I said nothing and realized later she may have been onto something. The "texture" of PdR is silky, smooth & rich. Buttery from the orris root, similar to the creamy scent "texture" of cocoa butter. Before someone takes offense I should clarify that PdR doesn't smell simply like cocoa butter. What I mean is some notes, texturally and tonally, are shared between them. I was fascinated by this idea so i bought a tub of cocoa butter and sure enough, it pairs deliciously under Parfait de Roses. Sweet! Over the past year this has become one of my most treasured fragrances in my collection. It wasn't a love at first, but eventually I grew to adore it. I don't wear it often. But when I crave it, nothing else suffices. A little goes a long way and it lasts forever. My one bottle will last a lifetime. Official notes : Rose Centifolia distillate, Rose Centifolia in "Infusion," incense, pink pepper, Liqueur of Rose, ciste labdanum, vanilla absolute, tolu balsam I have an even greater appreciation for Nathalie Lorson after having read about & experienced her assemblage of Parfait de Roses. It was pure genius. ❤️ I don't think a dupe can exist. Quality is what set it apart, and her playful use of various distillates of rose.

It's Sunday and I wore Parfait De Roses from my 4 ml decant. I've tested it several times and it's safe to say that I don't like this fragrance. Not the first hour anyway. It starts off soo intensely, buzzingly sweet... like bourbon-vanilla soaked Maraschino cherries all covered in confectioner's sugar. The aldehydes with roses is an odd combination paired with this level of sweetness. I think Maison Lancome's ultra sweet offerings just aren't for me. I wish they would steer more toward a balance, where the sweetness only peeks through instead of total domination by sugar (ahem, Lavandes Trianon). Quality is there though! My husband didn't care for it either. He preferred Girl Of Now, which I sprayed a little later. After an hour or so, once things settle down, I'm left with a very high quality, pleasant, simple vanilla and a whisper of rose. I much prefer it at this stage, which takes some time to get there. It smells like a sweeter VC&A Orchidee Vanille with a sprinkling of rose once the aldehydes, and bourbon, and fruitiness fades away. A little powdery still, like powdered sugar, not talc. Almost a 180 from the opening to drydown, although it's still a few notches too sweet for my taste. I like the presence of orris and olibanum in the base. It is good quality juice. I'll sparingly finish the decant, but I won't miss it once it's gone. Orchidee Vanille has the same high quality vanilla, and smells slightly pink like PdR. I honestly feel like if you dislike PdR's opening but like the drydown, then just go with Orchidee Vanille. If you enjoy other very sweet Maison Lancome offerings, or you are into those like Baccarat Rouge 540 & Delina Exclusif, then you'd probably like this!

I'm so happy that I finally got to test this fragrance. It's been on my list for a while now and a very generous fragrantica member sent me a sample. I really do enjoy this, if it were a standard house release from Lancome there's no doubt I'd be buying a full bottle. For it's actual more exclusive price, however, I don't think I can justify it, but here is why: I get a deliciously creamy rose candy smell. I honestly think that this smells like roses + cotton candy. When I look at the notes list for MOR Marshmallow, I would've envisioned this is what that fragrance would've smelled like. Sadly, something about it is just a tad too sharp, I think it is the carnation note. This one stays fluffy and smooth. I don't get any booze notes to it. Just a sugary sweet bunch of rose petals. I can't stop thinking about cotton candy and all things pink and fluffy when I smell this! The color and name of this fragrance is very fitting. I already have a couple of sweet, gourmand-ish rose perfumes in my wardrobe that I'm quite satisfied with. However if I ever got the chance I'd swap for this scent. I just don't feel compelled to spend $200+ for it, but wow it is a beauty. And I'd urge anyone else who loves roses and sweet scents to give it a try. It probably won't be a redundancy to others who either don't have this already, or just can't get enough of rose perfumes. I enjoy them occasionally, and at a moderate amount, so there's no need for me to own a ton of them. If I could swap out 1 or 2 of mine though, for this, I'd be tempted. I'm really thankful I got to try this. Performance is lovely, not too strong, but what you'd at least expect at this kind of prestigious price.

Color me surprised. I got cold tonight and threw on a sweatshirt... The same sweatshirt that had been sprayed with Parfait De Roses a couple of days ago. And wouldn't you know it, the scent coming off of me filled me with enjoyment. But, I'd forgotten what had been sprayed. Then I remembered it was this. So, I went and gave it another proper testing, about my fifth or sixth time by now. I'm not getting half of the notes on fragrantica for this fragrance. Yes, it starts off pleasantly fruity/berry and roses and yes, it is sweet. Quite sweet. But, what I didn't notice was the complexities it offers beyond sugar and roses in the opening. I don't believe I smell aldehydes at all. In fact what's sparkling feels spicy fresh, not soapy clean. And, I could swear I smell incense in this. A nice, slightly smokey church-like incense. Or maybe it's guiac wood, but more incense to my nose. This was my revelation with Parfait De Roses. I guess I didn't give it enough credit. It excites me when my perception of a fragrance changes so drastically. Could be hormones or mood, but this is why it's good to test multiple times. Once it's been seen it usually can't be unseen and in this case, it was for the better. Yay! I will keep testing it, but chances are I will continue liking it. It's so much more unique than I initially thought and with that, it's sweetness no longer bothers me. Interesting, huh? Yes, there has to be incense or some type of tree or balsam. It's really quite beautiful.

If you buy a fragrance mainly consisting of one note, and this note isn't even a note you like, the fragrance is good! To my nose this fragrance reminds me a lot of Turkish delight! I would consider this a gourmand rose fragrance as it is so sweet that you can taste it. The opening is pretty loud, but the dry down is beautiful! The scent is mainly linear, and doesn't change much at all expect that it becomes a lot more gentle and sweet as it settles. It's clearly a rose fragrance and the rose is very prominent yet it's unlike any other rose fragrance I've smelled. I haven't decided yet if I like it or if I love it, but I couldn't stop myself from buying it, so... This fragrance doesn't last very long on my skin, but if I spray it on fabric it has great longevity and projection (be aware that this is highly concentrated and could stain clothing). I oversprayed unintentionally the other day and I'm pretty sure I filled the entire room. As it is a pretty sickly sweet fragrance I don't recommend this! All in all, this is a gorgeous fragrance that undoubtedly deserves its place in the Maison Lancôme line. Oh! And the bottle... Dear lord that bottle is beautiful!!

Without fail, every time I spray this on, one spray from the 14ml bottle mind you, my husband comments that “it’s way too strong”. It is initially a beast and easily lasts 10 hours though it’s closer to a skin scent by the end. I like this, and I agree with some that this is like a rosey Orchidee Vanille but it has no orange or citrus notes, whereas the citrus is fairly prominent on my skin with Orchidee Vanille. I like this fragrance but the fact I always get that comment from my husband, and he doesn’t care much for the scent even into the dry down, make it hard for me to love compared to Jasmins Marzipane or Iris Dragees, the only other two Maison Lancôme I like enough to have. Edit: ended up selling this and Iris Dragees, for opposite reasons. This was just too strong and Iris Dragees was barely there. Jasmins is a strong like but not a love. Overall, I’ve fallen out of love with the entire line.

Okay, I want to first off say that this is one of the Maison Lancôme fragrances that I feel is incorrectly named. This is not gourmand nor very sweet. When I think of “pairfat” I think sweet and dessert-like. Which this scent isn’t. This scent to me is a grassy rose with lots of powder. Later in the dry-down the sweet notes come out, but that grass rose is always at the forefront. One of the great things about this scent is it’s a journeyed fragrance; As it’s worn, more notes come out and it developes the more time goes on. I am not big on the opening up to the first hour. After the first hour has gone and more of the sweeter notes develop, i like it a lot! I think the more i wear this scent, the more it will grow on me. Some scents you have to wear to really understand and i think this is one of them! Very unique sent! Very long lasting with moderate sillage. 8/10 fragrance!

I loved this when I smelt it at a friend’s house and decided to purchase it. When my bottle arrived, it just didn’t smell great. I quickly wrote it off, deciding all rose scents just weren’t for me and was ready for selling it. Well fast forward 3 weeks and this now smells absolutely amazing! All it needed was time to recover from shipping. So I take it all back! Now I get the Turkish delight comparison. This is the scent I fell in love with, from the first time I smelt it. It’s a gorgeous, luxurious, unique smelling rose. I’m someone who absolutely hates rose forward fragrances, but this one is really special. It has an airy and creaminess to it, and is unlike any other rose perfume on the market. I’m really please to have this in my collection.

This reminds me of rose scented incense. Or, (and almost definitely you’ve never experienced this so this isn’t helpful to anyone), it reminds me of praying in the chapel at the La Salette Shrine in NH with my grandparents when I was a kid—The sanctuary and votive candles burning in prayer, the mahogany pews, the lingering incense from Mass, and my special rosary beads made of dried rose petals. That is what this fragrance evokes. I am surprised the notes don’t say dried rose petals, incense, hot candle wax, mahogany, and Jesus... It’s the smell of cherished memories, but not something I want to wear. (Also, Just kidding about the Jesus part😇).
