Patchouli Aromatique

This house of Lancôme is absolutely amazing and offers great fragrances, especially, in the Private Collection. Very underrated and only known for Ôud Bôuquet, which is great, too. This one is very alluring yet creative. A Patchouli that doesn't smell like a pure Patchouli, at least is not very powerful. The Sage dominates the first 4-5h. Is fresh, clean and aromatic. A note that isn't very common in the front of a fragrance but more in the background giving an aromatic nuance. In this case, is very prominent yet pleasing. Gives this almost clean bathroom vibe but, along with the other notes, has a sweet and elegant vibe. The drydown has a sweet patchouli borrowed from Coromandel which is quite awesome. The result is refined, very alluring and pleasing for everybody. You'll be noticed for sure and everybody will compliment you. It's easy to wear yet distinctive, with great longevity (12h+) and heavy projection and sillage for the first 4-5h. The only con is the fact that the fragrance is quite linear but, for a night time situation, fits very well. A great fragrance made for both genders and with excellent quality. Recommended! 4/5

I like this. I get the coromandel vibe. I compared side by side. Coromandel is more earthy, sweeter, heavier. Patchouli aromatique is cleaner, fresher, a little herbal ( I think it might be the sage . After a while, the vetiver takes it in a different direction. At about an hour, it becomes powdery on my skin. Initially I thought I didn’t spray enough, after several attempts it still became powdery. I don’t have anything against powdery perfumes, but it was surprising. It stands on clothing. It is pretty linear. This is one is more versatile. It holds well in the heat. I will enjoy it. Edit/ gave it to my SO .He loved it. I guess I like my patchouli a little dirty .

Coromandel is my absolute all time favorite!! This is Coromandel minus the chocolate and benzion. This is slightly more green but it has that same dusty delicious patchouli that I adore in Coromandel! Because of that greenness, it works in warm weather where I find Coromandel to be too heavy in really warm weather. It's sophisticated and comforting at the same time. A love from me!! Id like to add that I also have Figues and Agrumes, Roses Berberanza, Jasmins Marzipan, Oud Bouquet and Tuberouses Castane from this house but this one is hands down my fav from the collection so far!

Bought this by mistake off Macy’s Website since I wanted to try 2 of the new releases in this collection. Normally I hate patchouli scents because it smells dirty however this perfume is mild with no hippie vibe from 1960s or 1970s. Surprisingly I like this better than Figues & Agrumes because it has a very Lancome powdery scent that is pretty. I live in Arizona desert where temperatures are 125 degrees in summer so I worried this would be cloying but it is not. One spray was all I needed on an 85 degree spring day to last for 6 hours without fading. I changed scents for evening but believe it would have lasted 8-10 hours easy with decent scent trail. The drydown in this perfume is when the magic happens with a gentle sweet powdery scent that is very feminine and grown up. This is not a sickeningly sweet perfume and does not smell like baby powder. The patchouli almost became chocolatety giving hint of gourmand but not really. I really enjoy this perfume so I am glad I put the wrong bottle into my cart. I highly recommend this perfume but test it first if you can to see how it works on your skin.

Blind Buy. I was looking forward receiving my parcel, as I am in love with some Maison Lancome fragrances. I also have a big collection of patchouli perfumes and this one does not impress me. However it is very polite soft patchouli on a great base. If to compare it with other patchouli fragrances, then I can not really compare it with anything else. I would say it is just a patchouli, well blended. It is smells patchouli oil, but not harsh or loud. I would say creamy patchouli if it makes sense.

Lancôme does patchouli. Same house base scent that I enjoy in Hypnose and Iris Dragees, but with a soft patch on top. It’s not like Coromandel at all to me, other than it’s another soft patch fragrance. As I already have every concentration of Coromandel as well as a lot of other patchouli centered frags I nearly passed on this one, but on a whim sprayed some on my husband and... oh my. :D Fbw for him!

Patchouli Aromatique is very herbal to my nose. There is a fleeting bright citrusy note in the opening but patchouli is definitely the star of this show. It is earthy and herbal, the sage further amplifying the herbal nature of it and I also get like a herbal tea like note. The herbal nature of this compositions does mellow, as the scent develops. There is just a touch of sweet powderiness, in the dry down (tonka?!?), which is my favorite part of this fragrance. Patchouli is a note that doesn't typically bother me, especially when it is present in combination with other notes I love. I appreciate it's usefulness in grounding notes while prolonging the wear of a fragrance however, patchouli centric fragrances are not my jam, I am discovering (also not very keen on Coromandel). Performance is average across the board. This is, in my opinion, a very unisex scent maybe even slightly masculine leaning and will probably shine in summer, something that cuts through the heat.

What it says on the tin. Light, simple n fresh, just patch, little else. I sniffed the sage in my kitchen to try to help me pick it up from this.. n I don't find it, nor the vetiver really either. This is nice but it doesn't last very long on me n I think is over priced for what it is. I got a half price fb n wouldn't want to part with more. Regarding the Coromandel controversy, I don't think this is like Coromandel either, as such, but this is a very Chanel take on patch, it's fresh, refined n elegant upfront n I think that's where others are seeing the similarity. I think it's like many Chanel patchouli notes. Wore this today n the longevity is really very poor considering how much this stuff officially cost. Undetectable inside 2 hours.

Back when I first got this it just smelled like a very clean fresh herbal patchouli to me, like they took all the Chanel clean patchouli notes n made a separate perfume out of them. I've just got it out again & it smells like it's got a pinch of amberwoody something in it. Which I'm not liking. Maybe I'm just oversensitive to the damn stuff now? Also hint of lavender was not there before.

Quite lovely and unisex herbal patchouli. I do smell some flowers in the background but that might just be my reflex as I own many floral patchouli combos. Sadly this one is not a huge love so if anyone from Canada wants to swap, please reach out.

I’ve been on a quest for patchouli fragrances and came upon Patchouli Aromatique by chance. I blind bought this and paid a lot more than retail as this had been discontinued. Upon first spray, I was deeply disappointed. It’s fresh and aromatic, but I didn’t get much patchouli. I’m used to more patchouli-forward scents and was expecting it to be dominant with the name. I’ve barely worn it in the few months I’ve had it. Today, on a whim during a heat wave, I sprayed it for the freshness. I can smell the sage and vetiver, then 30 minutes later, there’s this enveloping patchouli that settled softly and gently. I quite enjoy it now and will keep it for the really warm days.

elegant and sophisticated patchouli, one of my absolute favourites. Its done in a same way with TF's White Patchouli: dry, bitter, cool, and very woody. To make it a recognisable Lancome fragrance, the perfumer used aromatic, herbal sage (think of a classic sage-honey throat candies, same effect) and earthy vetiver, while keeping the signature Lancome "syrupy" sweetness. So the whole composition is simultaneously herbal and fresh, yet sweet and woody with a bitter undertone.

I believe Lancôme does patchouli in fragrances like the best of the best. Very deep and fresh at the same time, good for lasting. It is not a dirty patchouli, it's a chocolaty one, quite delicious. It's like La Vie est Belle less sweeter and without the orange. Completely unisex .
