Pivoines Printemps

Pivoine Printemps underwhelmed me the first time I tried it, it was pretty enough but a very meh fruity floral I thought, so I put it away and didn't look at it for a few months. A few days back, I was at home on a surprisingly warm day, I decided to give this one another go and this time around, I enjoyed it much, much more. The subtle spiciness of the pink pepper hit me first and had an effect of awakening my senses. This was followed by the sweet and sour fruity notes, some sort of red berries maybe. The florals come next and I love the combination of peonies with roses. The patchouli in the base is not at all over powering and serves only to ground this fragrance. It's not new or innovative but it is one I could see wearing on hot summer days when I just want to smell good without having to worry about it. I do think it is one of the more mass pleasing scents from the Maison Lancome line, which, is usually anything but generic but a simplistic fragrance does have an almost unique place in a line of otherwise more complex compositions. Performance was good with 6-8 hrs longevity and moderate to low projection. Overall, this is a very strong like for me. Edit : This does remind me quite a bit of Pivoine Suzhou from the Armani Prive line and you don't need both in your collection IMO (unless you do).

I'm very new to this range of perfumes, I stumbled upon this particular fragrance just before Christmas when I recieved a free sample with an online order, and I loved it. I struggle to find a perfume that I like, I find many perfumes make my sinuses bad or cause migraines. I find perfume shopping overwhelming and after a while they all blend into one, I need to sample one for a few days to see how it affects me. This is one of the first fragrances that I've found that I love. I was gutted to learn that it has been discontinued. I found a bottle on ebay and I love it. I'd say it's a great everyday perfume, not overpowering, but not weak either. I love the simplicity and elegance of the floral scent and it will be perfect for the spring, though I'm enjoying it now in the winter. I agree that on initial spray you get a hit of the pepper, but the scent settles in really well and the florals come through. The bottle is absolutely gorgeous and now that I'm aware of this range I'd like to sample more. Unfortunately lancôme don't ship samples and the only counters in the UK are too far away for me to travel to. As they don't do smaller bottles, I can't afford to blind buy these.

I love this. Exactly as described. Mainly peony with rose and some pepper to give it a sharp spiciness. This is rich and deep but lovely for a day in the 70s F. There is musk in here, too. Delicious. Glad I blind bought a 1 oz bottle. A floral through and through but not a light floral. One with bite. That Lancome DNA of this line. A floral that says I am coming to get you but I am not white or yellow. I am rich. I am oily. RAWR. I am a rose lover and glad this is in my collection.

A beautiful symphony of peonies and roses, emphasis on the former rather than on the latter. Longevity better than I first thought it would be, lasts four to five hours on my skin, with moderate sillage. A perfect floral spring and summer fragrance in a gorgeous bottle.

Pretty fragrance, in my opinion is not worth full asking price, it does smell like designer fragrance. I can smell black current and rose and peony in the start and patchouli slowly appears and becomes more noticeable which I don’t like (I just don’t like patchouli) than it becomes a bit more sweet. It does have a slight resemblance with Delina by PDM but Delina definitely smells more niche, also has more Rose and that rhubarb note. I mean it’s just better. They are different. It reminds more of Lalique Soleil. At the dry down it became sweeter, I think it’s the mandarin essence I can still smell Peony Rose and Patchouli and possibly Pink Pepper which I’m not a big fan of. It got a little more soapy too. Overall I would describe it as fresh, soapy a little sweet floral. It’s nice but I see myself reaching to other fragrances I have in that genre, like Holy Peony by Dior Privee.

I've had good luck so far with Maison Lancome, so I blind bought the 1 oz size when I saw it on sale. I didn't have very high expectations based on reviews, but when I sprayed it, I was surprised and delighted! A very fresh peony and rose combo that seems to work great with my chemistry. It's one of the few perfumes I get complements on and I feel happy when I catch wafts of the scent on myself. It has a nice presence, too - strong but not overwhelming. On me it's not a "watercolor" floral, if that makes sense. I rated it a "like" because I wouldn't say it's completely unique, but it it's very nice for the price and great for spring. If I didn't have so many perfumes already, I might even think about getting the larger size...

This is the softest and most wearable perfume from the Maison Lancome range. It's a very pretty peony fragrance and I feel like a classy beautiful lady when I wear it. It's light and ideal for spring and summer. It lasts on my skin for 5~6hrs and you probably have to spray a lot to get good projection. In the last hour or so, the rose note starts to become more dominant on my skin. So far loving it :) UPDATE: I could still smell it after 12hrs! It had almost become a skin scent at this point but I could still detect the perfume strong enough when I took a close sniff at the sprayed spot.

Extensive notes breakdown: Top Notes: Blackcurrant Absolute, Mandarin Essence, Pink Pepper Essence Middle Notes: Rose Absolute, Peony Accord Bottom Notes: Patchouli Heart, Ambrette Seed Absolute, Rose Chantilly Accord I do not like the opening, which to me smells like annoying pink pepper spiced peonies. In about half an hour when it settles it becomes this absolutely gorgeous lipsticky rose, somewhat similar to Lipstick Rose by Malle, but even more rose forward. There also seems to be a little bit of oud in the background. Very pretty overall, but certainly not my favorite in the line.

When I first smelt this I thought it was a bit too boring and generic, but a month later it has really grown on me as an easy to wear fresh floral rose. I really like the refreshing added depth of the pink pepper that really saves it from being just a "perfume store" scent. It's not unique or ground breaking, but isn't trying to be. Just a solid, versatile, pretty fragrance that I am glad to have in my collection! Not sure it's worth the price though as I received it as a gift.

This starts out with a little tartness from the fruits and then becomes a rose peony with green stems. Not sweet on me at all. When it dries down it's mainly patchouli. It's pleasant. Projection and longevity are reasonable. I do not get any spiciness. I think it is an enjoyable spring fragrance. It's not worth a large bottle for me, but I did get a 30ml and I'm glad I have it.

I was expecting not to like this but this is NICE! It’s more oudhy than expected, & has a coconut note that I pick up along with The soft floral delight. If I were to give it a color, I’d give it pastel pink! 🌸 First impression Nordstrom’s fragrance Counter. Well-mannered, quite upscale but not to The point of polite. & not shy. So pretty! It’s a dog day in summer ‘22.

Nice, very feminent perfume. Suitable for brides.It lasts about 5 hours. I adore peonies, as flowers, so i bought Shiny Peonies from Zara few months ago. As soon as i tryed Pivoines Printems, it reminded me SP from Zara, only with less strong red fruits accord. If you want an alternative, Shiny Peonies is perfect.

First of all, the bottle is GORGEOUS! Secondly, this is better than a lot of the peonies out there, certainly better than the recent Holy Peony, but not as good as Lust in Paradise.

Smell wise, designer level mass appealing easy to wear floral. Hard to hate it, but definitely not a love either. Other Maison Lancome are more sophisticated. The bottle design is 10/10. The pepper is strong at first sniff.

Blind bought a 30ml bottle many years ago as an add-on to an international parcel. Was not particularly impressed with it upon first spray, then the second wear was even worse-- I put on two light sprays and went for a first-aid training session. I was basically sitting there catching drifts of this strong peppery scents, feeling not so great as I sensed a slight suggestion of migraine brewing up. I then made an even stupider decision to skip lunch to avoid the hassle of going to Mcdonald during peak time. Then it was a full-on migraine (one of the worst ones I got) aggravated by this scent, I literally had to ask the tutor for some panadol to keep the afternoon going. Then the bottle was shelfed for a good four years, with rare, cautious yet light use as room sprays just to chip away at the volumes. Revisited this scent tonight, not too bad in the first 10min, but then I was still able to pick up that feeling of migraine creeping up on me. What I'm trying to say is the power of scent association as it seriously evoked the olfactory damage every time without a fail.

Pivoines Printemps by perfumer Nicolas Beaulieu is the most delicate of the whole line and definitely a feminine floral fragrance. Think on the lines like in the family of Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet but more focused on the floral notes in that fragrance. Pivoines Printemps is a sweet but not heady floral that has citrus in the top notes that gives this fragrance a slight freshness to it. The spiciness with the freshness comes from the pink pepper. As the fragrance dries down it's all about the rose and peony. This is the perfect time to use it as spring is around the corner. There are two new Maison Lancome fragrances coming out soon in 2021 that I'm excited about..another Jasmine and Peony fragrance in the line in time for spring. I'm certainly interested. I love the Maison Lancome line. I feel like i'm wearing a fresh bouquet of flowers when I wear this. What I like about this the most is that instead of the usual red rose you usually smell this is a pretty brighter nicely done pink rose. Be prepared this one is not as complex as the others in the line that you might be used to or looking for, but it's still a nice fragrance to collect and it's different enough to enjoy. I know I don't buy many floral fragrances so I liked the change from my many gourmands. Test before buying to see if you like it for sure. The idea from the Lancome website is the sweetness of springtime.

The Lancome website says this has both "pink berries essence", "pink peppercorns", "peony bouquet" & "rose chantilly." From saporidelmondo blog I learned that 'pink 'berries' & 'peppercorns' are the same thing, BAIES ROSE, which is not really an actual pepper. Chantilly is a vanilla whipped cream.. so I thought this might be a fresh, spicy rose vanille.. Er, not really. Pam's Smelly Goods is pretty accurate, she says this is a warm but lighter Miss Dior. The opening of this one for me is disappointingly..idk how to describe.. maybe rubber.. leather but not like full leather..I've smelled it in quite a few things, Jardin Precieux, Dior Joy, some Avons, (sorry can't recall names) it's in pink juices I've mostly sensed it.. Anyway, it kinda ruins it for me, it does fade.. but not enough, the rest of the scent fades too quickly under it. This one isn't a v good performer, longevity/sillage isn't that great for the price (if you buying from website full price.) It's not v sweet or creamy considering it purports to have that 'rose chantilly' accord, it's just a boring little floral with ideas above it's station. It's not terrible, I don't hate it, but it's so dull I don't want to waste time with it.

This is a light floral scent, a bit soapy. The pepper is quite strong in the opening but softens a bit and then musk and peonies are dominant. Unremarkable imo.

@peloben and for anyone else who is interested, the perfumer for this fragrance was Nicolas Beaulieu, (according to Lancôme.)

Such a disappointment, it cost a lot but doesn't last on my skin for more than an hour.
