Do nosso caderno

I have never loved a perfume as much as this one. Wow. After learning Poeme was discontinued, I immediately bought another sealed one. The profile on this one is personally a masterful combination. I think I get as many compliments on this one as I do when I wear Guerlain. My mind equates it to liquid gold in a bottle. And it’s definitely a bombshell— I’ve had encounters where others have asked what I’m wearing when I’m several feet from them. Others have admitted they’re ‘obsessed with whatever I’ve been wearing’. I don’t blame them. I, too, am obsessed with this blasted perfume. True to notes listed, especially the amber. Every part of it is my favorite. (The first spritz is by far the best, but smelling my wrist or my arms is also wonderful after a few hours.) It still amazes me how good of a blind buy this was. On my first sniff, I wasn't expecting Poeme to smell so 'golden'. It was like being transcended. That afternoon was warm and sunny, along with my room, and it might have elevated the experience: Ironically, I remember the first opening being almost offensive, since I hadn't smelled that combination before. In hindsight, it might have been the Himalayan Poppy note, as it was new for me at the time. A 'pronounced clean', one I suspected would end up becoming astringent. I was half-worried the purchase would be a flop. But within seconds, I quickly reconsidered. The opening went from 'offensive' to mesmerizing-- then deepened, as a really long hug would. Every middle note is either one I already like or love, and the combination of them was the reason I originally made the blind buy. To this day, I’m thoroughly impressed and intoxicated by the balance of floral, sweet, clean and warm this scent gives. For the base, I was already a fan of the majority of notes. I will admit I don't detect any orange blossom, however. If it's a small amount, it's easily overpowered by the amber and musk. Poeme is warm and romantic, but something about it is incredibly vivacious and bold-- and is in every way deserving of its title. After more than a year, I still wear it with the same passion I had after the first application. I find that astounding. I feel I can't argue its longevity. In a perfect world, I would be smelling it forever, haha. In reality, I would say it lasts until mid-afternoon, which is lovely. Around that time, I usually layer on a travel perfume after lunch, so it works out. But gosh, if it would just stay, I would be quite a happy girl. As with any perfume, I find it changes every season, and my reason for loving it depends on the morning I apply. There has yet to be a day where I’ve grown tired of it. I always feel elegant, confident and assertive when I wear Poeme. I also feel like it’s a perfect chord-- one of those scents you can wear at any time. In the day, its composition is joyful. In the evening, its silage is powerful, yet remains feminine. It makes such a statement without needing spicier or stronger notes. Not to sound doting (as if I haven't already done so), but even the decanter is admirable. Its simplistic design and gold finish complete the scent holistically. All said, I’m heartbroken this one is discontinued. Still, as all things do knowingly come to an end, I feel at heart, this is part of the masterpiece itself. In that light, I'm so glad I’ve had the chance to experience it. A true poem-- one I will continue enjoying it until I can no longer find authentic bottles of it. Update 2026: I know I posted this awhile back, but I wanted to express how overjoyed I am to learn this fragrance has returned. Thank you so much, Lancôme. It truly is my forever fragrance, and I'm sure others who love it will be equally pleased.

First test of a brand new bottle of the newest formulation purchased directly from a major US authorized distributor - This is gorgeous. I'd keep it in my collection forever if I could. It's rich and smells expensive. I basically read it as "purely floral." Yes, there are many other notes, but it's predominantly floral with a sweet floral slightly clean musky base. Maybe a small touch of woods. It's realistic. It's yellow. It does remind me of Amarige by Givenchy, which was more "white floral" leaning but has some similar yellow facets as Poeme. Also get tiny doses of Fracas occasionally. I'm a tuberose junkie and collect every realistic tuberose-y white floral I can afford. This is probably the most gorgeous yellow floral I've ever smelled. I'd keep it in the same category as my tuberose perfumes, even though I this isn't a tuberose scent. It's just so fresh, realistic, and beautiful. Update: after subsequent wearings I’m afraid I need to agree with the other reviewers that the newest formulations have very little lasting power or projection. They open heavily but begin rapidly fading after 20 minutes. I need to heavily spray all over and keep spraying to get this to last. I let my bottle settle for a month. No improvement yet. I sprayed 20 sprays into my cotton sweater that holds fragrance forever, then changed my mind about the days plans and took it off and showered. 3 hours after applying, I pulled the sweater out of the hamper and can only smell Poeme when I shove my nose in the sweater and sniff hard. I can barely detect it, only maybe 2 notes remain... I have no issue smelling my other perfumes on my other dirty clothes that were worn days up to a week ago. Wow, honestly shocking how poor the longevity is. Honestly considering returning this. I can’t seem to find any reasonably priced vintage full bottles left. I mostly find eBay sellers claiming their bottle is vintage but batch code shows it was made 6 -8 years ago. What a pity. I will still enjoy this bottle, but it makes me sad now where when I first tested it made me so happy. My opinion of Lancôme has dropped even lower now. I have tried many of their current scents on the market and only really like 2, and only like 1 enough to own. The others are obviously dead from reformulation with expensive prices and no lasting power, or just blends that I’m really not into for one reason or another. I’m a sucker for perfume and will generally like most scents I try. Something needs to be drowning in off putting notes, more expensive than a mortgage payment, or have zero ability to perform for me to dislike it. It’s rare that I LOVE something. I LOVE the way Poeme smells. I hate the way it performs now. I guess it doesn’t matter as she’s being cancelled, probably due to poor sales of the newest short-lived formulation & corporate sales goals assuming this scent wasn’t selling enough, failing to foresee the upcoming trend of Gen Z and Millenials who are starting to seek out more vintage classic scents. Poeme is such a better scent than everything else Lancôme makes, how could they do this to her? 😩

Poeme was a calculated blind buy, and I'm loving it more all the time. I'm continually impressed by how it changes by season. When I first got a mini (7.5ml spray) at the beginning of this spring, I smelled narcissus and artificial grape (many florals do; I'm not sure which was doing that in this case). My second mini (4ml splash) smelled of narcissus, vanilla, and tuberose. The 30ml partial bottle I got, halfway through this spring, showed the mimosa and vanilla; at which point, the tuberose and narcissus became harder to perceive. Today, with near record setting highs for my area (about 109F/43C), I smell the linden blossom. I wore Dame Perfumery's Soliflore Linden Blossom oil rollerball earlier today and I kept thinking I was smelling Poeme. (Sniffing from the bottles, Poeme is more symphonic and complex, and SLB is more plasticky, but after a couple hours on the skin, those differences are far less pronounced.) Poeme has many of my problematic notes: orange blossom, ylang ylang, peach and tonka, but they're blended well enough that I can't specifically identify any of them. I guess they're present to add even more white florals and yellow tones. Thankfully, this perfume is old enough that when musk and cedar are listed, the perfume usually isn't a harsh aromachemical mess, and this one is no exception. It smells as if it were made with more than 90% real natural ingredients, and does not come across as synthetic at all. To me, Poeme contains nothing dark or dangerous or skanky or poisonous, as some people describe. I don't know exactly what datura smells like. Poeme just smells like a beam of sunlight on a bright spring day. It is neither old fashioned nor sexy, but just classic and beautiful, and never out of style. It is a really straightforward daytime perfume that is so well-blended that it feels like a simple perfume. I can only detect one or two notes at a time. Three, if you count the vanilla, which seems like its only purpose is just to underscore the sweetness of the florals. It doesn't add much sweetness of its own here. In cool and warm weather, I felt like Poeme had great sillage for an hour or so, but that it would soon "burn itself out" and ultimately not last long on my skin. I'd always bring it with me and refresh every few hours. In the hot weather, be careful not to overspray (and I say this as a massive oversprayer!!!) because I did this the other day after it started getting hot. I was afraid I'd ruined myself of one of my favorite perfumes. Thankfully, I still love it tonight. I sprayed only 2 sprays about 45 minutes ago, and on my wrists only, and I'm happy to report that it is no longer cloying. It can be found with a bit of patience, for reasonable prices on ebay.

Well, as a true classic, there's very little i could say that has not been said before about Poeme. This is a wonderful greeny, powdery yellow floral. I mainly get narcissus, mimosa, ylang and greenery. Can't make out any of the fruit nor vanilla really. Timeless, elegant, but not pretentious. The newer formulations are kind of trash though, I have victoria's secret body mists that last longer. I had the opportunity to spray on the tester several times at my old retail job just by batting my lashes at my lancome coworker. Fabulous, but couldn't smell it after an hour. The current status of this perfume is very confusing. Lancome themselves issued a statement saying it had been discontinued from production in 2021. Yet in my country important retailers and department stores still carry it, as a matter of fact I just went into my country's official Lancome website and there it is, added it to my cart just to test and all green lights... Not really sure what's up with that. With the rather vocal social media outcry for them to bring it back and not discontinue it i would assume that even older batches would be gone from these channels, right? Perhaps they listened to these people back in 2021 and they started to produce them again, without making much of an announcement? At any rate you're better off safari hunting for a vintage piece. I will confess that while i've owned the real deal, what I currently have as "Poeme" is an inspiration, which smells virtually the same but lasts SO much longer that my pal's modern tester at the store. This is the kind of perfume that a lot of starbucks-fueled, platinum-highlights-on-brown-hair hunnies that are pushing 40 will call "old lady smell", "granny smell", etc, without realizing the mysogynistic, ageist, and frankly weird connotations that has. You can chalk all of those comments to being brought up on pink sugar, dkny be delicious and kayali though, this is a solid, yellow floral gem that has no age. I was born in 1998 and I love it. I think this sentiment is adscribed to any perfume that's sufficiently heady; and yellow and white florals are thus often caught in that fire. Poeme is heady alright. In a somewhat similar vein to Paloma Piccasso's eponymous, but replace the hyacinth there for narcissus, and not nearly as boozy. I personally don't find any other perfume from Lancome as tantalizing as Poeme. La vie est belle and most flankers make me dizzy with this raisiny, dry fruit or figgy element I get. La nuit tresor charmed me when i first smelled it, but i took a u-turn as soon as i actually wore it. hypnose, Ö, forgettable to me, frankly... Many people will hate Poeme, Luca Turin hates Poeme, I hear. I will wear it either way.

Pôeme is one of the most beautiful things I've ever put my nose to. I have a vintage bottle so I can't speak for the reformulated modern version, and I should gatekeep but this is too good, I need the world to know how much I love it lol Inside the box is a poem in French: 'tu es le grand soleil qui me monte à la tête tu es comme la mer tu berces les étoiles' - 'You are the great sun that rises to my head You are like the sea, you rock the stars' I keep going back in disbelief, how can it smell THIS good?? How do I even describe this bonified treasure? Well first of all, I'll be buying another vintage bottle for backup. It has a fantastic sillage, a very respectable scent bubble, and it smells like something a day care attendant would wear, someone who's Serene and has a beautiful face, and her playful and patient behavior is etched into someones memory from when they were a child. They wish they could go back, and then they smell this and it takes them there. To the side of their 90's childhood that's rarely represented. Pôeme is giving Whimsigoth core. It's giving a warm gust filled with the petals from the flowers that bloom towards the end of Spring and at the precipice of summer. It's Yellow florals done right. It's spiritual in the way that someone who knows nothing about religion would be spiritual, talking to the moon and stars at night on a walk in the park down the street from their safe and cute suburban neighborhood where everyone goes big on decorations for the holidays. It's a floral for an adult, but by no means is it a Vieja Cuchi, this isn't and older woman's scent, it's a woman in her 30's or 40's who hasn't lost touch with her inner child. It's sweet in the way flowers or fruits are sweet, it feels natural, bright, cheerful, playful, all of that in a mature but youthful way, if you can imagine that paradox. I can't get over just how special this is, there's nothing else quite like it. It's signature scent worthy 100%. I feel more sure of this as a signature more than anything else. The problem is that I don't know how it compares to the modern version. I'll have to get a modern bottle to see. I hear that it's much less rich and 3 dimensional now, post-reformulation. Also the juice is super dark and would definitely stain whites so you have to wear colors with it which is kinda cool actually. And if I could attribute an astrological sign to it, it'd be Cancer for sure. Like a Cancer sun, Aquarius moon, and Pisces rising. Gorgeous scent, I can't praise it enough, this was such a good purchase 😁

I love this perfume for many reasons. I am experimenting with layering my perfumes, I layered this perfume with Chance EDP by Chanel, it turned out to be a very good combination. I also layered it with Caleche by Hermes; I loved it more than when I wear the perfume alone. Oh, the memories this perfume brings back for me will probably be hilarious to some of you and sad to others. Each time I grab this perfume to use it I am sad with tears of joy. In 2005 I purchased a 100-mil bottle of this perfume, two weeks after the purchase I was scheduled to go to Haiti to volunteer for the elementary school I attended as a child. I did not leave the perfume at home because I had plans to spend the night at my aunt’s house, I took the perfume and lotion with me. They were in my oversized purse. That morning I used the perfume and the lotion, I probably used too much of it and with the heat in Haiti, everyone could smell the perfume on me. I was scheduled to give a speech about empowerment and education to about 100 girls. During the speech one of the girls said to me “What do we need to do to smell as good as you do today?” I smiled and said all, all you must do is shower, wear lotion and perfume. Another young lady asked me, “can you put some on us after your speech?”. I looked at the Vice Principal, she gave me the ok look. I agreed to the request thinking that I would only have to spray maybe 5 to 10 girls with the perfume. Thirty minutes later about 100 girls lined up to try the perfume. I sprayed them, answered questions, laughed, cried and received many hugs from the stories they shared with me. One girl told me that she wished she could smell good all the times because in her opinion she would be able to feel special. That story touched my heart and made me realized how lucky I was to live in a country where I was fortunate enough to afford certain things. I wanted to make someone else feel special, so I gave what was left in the bottle to one of the teachers in in the school. After I returned to the US, I counted my blessings multiple times and went on a quest to collect perfume samples for that school. I was lucky enough to have friends and colleagues and people in my neighborhood to donate perfume full bottle or used bottles, deodorants, toothpaste, toothbrushes and body lotion. I started donating these things to the school every year and continue on doing it until this day.

When I first acquired Poême, I immediately wrote a long review in my notes and wanted to publish it - it was supposed to be the first review on my profile. But over time, I decided not to publish it - it turned out too personal. I have different versions of Poême from various years, and my favorite version is the 2015 release (I haven’t tried the new formulation). The vintage editions of the earliest releases were too heavy and concentrated for me and can only be used by rubbing them on. (By the way, the vintage Classique EDT by Jean Paul Gaultier - the first batches - is very similar to Poême by Lancôme. In the modern formulation of Classique, for me, there’s no similarity.) I wear Poême almost every day, except on hot days. I would enjoy it year-round, but in summer it’s a bit too heavy and tends to hide. Poême loves coolness. Even when it’s warm inside, if you open the fridge or freezer, or step onto a cool balcony (in autumn/winter), it immediately blossoms and announces itself. I even feel a little annoyed that it only truly plays in the cool. My secret method of application is on my back. I don’t use any other method anymore. I do one spray under the collar, directed down toward the lower back (not on my hair, but directly under the fabric) and enjoy Poême. I’ve been wearing Poême Lancôme like this for a year and a half, and as I walk around my apartment, I always think, “Oh my God, what is that scent I just put on? It’s so beautiful.” (You might think I have the memory of a goldfish, but I test and use many perfumes each day, and every time, it pleasantly surprises me.) My ritual is Poême applied in “angel wing” style. Currently (late autumn), my favorite fragrance combination is: Poême Lancôme on my back A small cloud of Guidance by Amouage on a wool sweater, over the chest area, and on top of that, a spray of Al Contrario by Tiziana Terenzi I don’t overwhelm anyone with these fragrances in public; I wear them for myself at home or in nature.

I am a serial blind-buy-moron. I couldn't find anywhere to test this and gambled on a big bottle based on reviews and my preternatural love of Tresor. My first impressions are that it is (sadly) not for me. There is a THICK buttery floral note - maybe the tuberose - that makes me a bit nauseous. I also think one of my more unpleasant grade school teachers wore it - an association that is totally not Poeme's fault. All of this can't take away from the fact that this is an artful, powerhouse perfume that has a classic golden aura that fills space like almost nothing I've experienced. I understand the love for it, but I doubt I can shed my negative associations (and quiffy stomach) enough to really enjoy it. Edit after a real wear: still not sure this is for me but I gave it a proper wear all day today and I'm feeling a bit more optimistic. Still a rough couple hours after first spray, but by the end of the day, it smells like the best bright pink bubblegum, which I dont hate....it lasts an age. 3rd wear: I followed Osouls' method from below and apply this under my collar on my back and it makes a difference - it's not nearly so overwhelming. I'm upgrading to a like! Update: I take it all back. I love this and it's perfect. When sprayed further from my face (low back under clothes works best for me) it's not overwhelming at all. It peaks out politely through the day like a big, shy, golden flower in a solar haze of pollen. The honey sweetness is always there, but more muted. In warmer temps an incense note peeks out. I totally get it now. The hang-time on this is unreal - even after laundering, my shirts smell like it. The comment below that it performs like a body spray made me laugh out loud, but also wonder what the hell that user generally wears. For reference, my bottle is new.

I tend to blind buy perfumes because I’m just like that and this one was so worth it. This thing is kindness in a bottle.. I would envision an empathetic and mature woman wearing it. I find that most popular perfumes are either overly sweet or try too hard to be seductive, and poeme is the exact opposite. To me, this perfume is mainly floral; I only detect traces of citrus and plum in the very beginning, but rather than fresh fruit it smells more like dried / canned fruit. Narcissus is without a doubt the strongest note at first, but after some time jasmine and roses begin to kick in. It’s an extremely complex perfume that evolves every couple of hours, with each phase having a unique and memorable scent to it. My personal favorite is around 2-3 hours after the initial spray — when it begins to smell like sipping a floral tea on a Sunday afternoon... something about it is so nostalgic and reminds me of such happy memories. When I first used this perfume, I sprayed it on my clothes and for some reason it smelled sharp, grandma-like, and generally just horrible. However, spraying it on my skin completely changed my perspective. I guess it works well with my chemistry because now it smells gentle, calming, and nurturing. I see reviews saying that it’s very strong and unsuitable for the summer but this fragrance could be worn throughout every season in my opinion. It is certainly strong, but not the kind that hits you in the nose; instead it lingers in the back of ur nose and creates a very pleasant aura around you. As long as it’s not sprayed on fabric, it’s inoffensive and light, whilst also managing to last long enough for me to smell it when I’m showering. Overall prefer this much more than modern mainstream fragrances

I am a unapologetic blind buyer and I couldn't have made a more perfect purchase. Poeme is an ode to spring and summer days, it's the prettiest bouquet of honeyed florals. This smells like a tree with blooming white and yellow florals that drip nectar. Bees buzzing around you. It's grandiose and it's beautiful. I smell a huge dose of mimosa and narcissus, with sweet peachy and plummy facets that add a slight depth to the sweetness. It's not woody, it has no edges either, just a pure cloud of scent. The dry down is that prettiest rich vanilla mimosa ever!!!! What's so interesting to me about the reviews here is that it's widely viewed as a winter fall scent. Now I don't know if this is a pnw thing or what but this smells akin to my backyard. There is a massive linden tree that sits in the middle of it, and this smells so similar to the blossoms dropped by it. Standing under this tree you can hear the sound of hundreds of bees buzzing. This is sundrunk, golden, soft and delicate, yet it announces its presence in a an understated way. Very much a sundress type of scent. Yes I feel like it's a spring summer scent, but it could definitely be worn in winter fall as well. I don't think this an offensive scent either, it's pleasantly sweet, maybe a bit cloying when oversprayed. But the dry down will pull compliments. Decent projection and longevity as well, it clings to clothes and skin. I go nose blind to scents extremely fast, but this one I can smell throughout the day. Like I said, it has no edges, creating such a pretty scent bubble. If your a lover of mimosa or sweet florals I really suggest smelling this, it truly evokes a sense of sunshine in such a cool way!

This is the most beautiful perfume in the world to me. A beauty. 🌼🏵🌻 Truly sunshine in a bottle.☀️ Warm, gentle but very strong, comforting. A warm hug in a bottle. 😊 Like smelling a fresh bouquet of golden yellow flowers that have been in the sun all day. There's also a well known white flowery creamyness to it. And the vanilla is blended sooo seamless into all of it. Absolutely not overwhelming the flowerbouquet. And super clean. There's nothing indolic to be found in this scent. Amber, tonka and musk provide the rest of a sort of soft pungeant warmth with their specific notes in that direction, aiding the flowers with maintaining their scent for the entire scentjourney while giving their warmth straight from the beginning. What a beautiful, uplifting scent. It completely reminds me of the 90's in the best possible way ☀️ Only one spray, and it will be enough for the entire day and the next. On clothes especially In terms of comparison, honestly, there might be vague 'alike' scents but not really. This is very unique. I tried some of the compared listed scents and no. Exept maybe Classique, it is gorgeous on it's own and in drydown definitely as good as poeme, but not to be compared at all. Merci. Monsieur J. Cavallier 💛 And Lancôme, for not yet discontinuing this beautiful artwork that lifts the spirits 💛 Edit: i read in the reviews that some find this a dated scent. Not that i want to argue with someone's personal experience of a scent, but no. No absolutely no. This is soo far from being a dated scent. Nothing stuffy or old about this. It's actually soo fresh but in a honeysuckle warm and creamy way. So sexy and safe at the same time.

Divine nectar of the Gods..... Where can I start with this masterpiece it’s a Classy, Sweet, Uplifting, Happy, Confident, Beautiful, Sensual, Powerful fragrance, gives me a boost of confidence and happiness when I wear it. I remember in middle school my grandma having a mini bottle of this, must’ve been gifted to her but she wasn’t a fan of this so she barely used it, she would have it sitting in her vanity closet and every time I would go near the dresser the smell of this scent would project vividly, as a child it reminded me of honey buttered jellybeans with bubblegum in sunshine and flowers, still gives me the same feeling I felt as a child. I’ve read reviews about this not being suitable for warm weather but IMO I’ve worn it daytime warm weather with 2 spritz and felt like a very luxurious sun tan lotion scent if it goes with your body chemistry you can wear this year round, I always get stopped and get asked what fragrance I’m wearing, from young to mature, men and women will compliment me. This has strong performance, great projection, Definitely not a blind buy, NOT FOR EVERYONE but if It works for you then it must be worn well and cherished I feel like it may have been reformulated to todays standard, lacks the enormous power from before but still very strong, this fragrance is something magical, divine, the nectar of the gods. Lancôme please do not discontinue this I only have one bottle left and am holding on to it very tightly, would love the pure perfume in this as I’ve seen before and wished I owned.

Needed a positive sunshiny boost on this cool, rainy day. I first smelled Poeme on a very chic, cosmopolitan woman several years older than me. She had her act together and was an Italian beauty, a modern Sophia Loren with less curves, plenty of sass, and street plus book smarts. I wanted to BE her and HAD to know what the alluring, character affirming scent was that seemed to be at the essence of this woman. She didn't just wear this; she WAS Poeme. This confident, generous woman was above gate-keeping and as soon as I was able, Poeme entered my life. I was frantic when it appeared Lancôme was discontinuing and feverishly found one of the last bottles available at that desperate time. Could I live without this gorgeous, edgy, complex floral bomb that sings on my skin? Well, of course I could, but with so many of my "favourite fumes" long gone, I'm glad to have a big backup bottle. Based on reviews here I'm not sure it will be as glorious as it once was, and I should check, but for today I enjoyed being enveloped in this comforting smell, being reminded of a friend long gone, and being distracted and lifted up from debilitating pain. Perfume is such a personal, powerful, enriching, time-travelling part of life; tangled with our memories, and informing our aspirations. Poeme is long lasting and due, I think, to the large variety of notes I do not become anosmic. This is big bang for your buck juice: tomorrow there will be more to enjoy as the matured and muted fragrance is also delightful.

This perfume debuted when I was 20 years old. I don’t know who bought me a bottle because there’s no way I would have had the money (probably a Christmas gift) but I adored it and drained the bottle. Second bottle came courtesy of a boyfriend and I literally inhaled that in record time. I kicked myself for never buying a third and then as this became harder and harder to find, I obsessed. Poème by Lancôme has been one of my two holy grail perfumes and I’ve been searching for a reliable bottle of this gorgeous thing forever. I finally got my hands on what looks and smells like the real deal. Now, in my memory, Poème was a big, heady, mature lady perfume. I rocked the heck out of it in my early 20s so I don’t think there is such a thing as old lady perfumes. Now, at 48, I am experiencing it in an entirely new light. I find this lighter than I remembered and little fruitier. First I thought it was a reformulation issue, but I’m getting those little nostalgia waves that confirm this is truly my Poème. So I can only conclude that my nose has matured and while I still lean toward big, heady floral perfumes, they may be a tad bolder now (Chanel No. 5, Lanvin Arpège, etc). It projects well on first spray and has All The Flowers as it dries down. If there is any reformulation fallout, it’s in the sillage and longevity. It doesn’t seem to stick around as long as I recall or want it to. Still a delicate little poem on my shelf that I’m so happy to have again.

This is one of my all time favourite perfumes. It is timeless, elegant, pure class. On my skin, it is a warm, resinous boozy bouquet that is somehow sweet and aromatic yet clean. My mum gifted me a bottle of this when I was in my late teens. Considering this came out the year before I was born, it was definitely an unusual perfume for a girl in her early twenties to wear. It has such a mature and refined quality. I wore this while I was studying my undergrad at Oxford - it was the perfect perfume for studying in wooden libraries, attending private views at galleries and partying at college balls. Funnily enough, there was an old underground club called 'Cellar' where we used to throw student techno nights. I smelt this perfume in the club and couldn't believe it - I asked a girl "No way, are you wearing Lancome Poeme?" and she was! We both couldn't believe that we wearing the same perfume. Her mum had also gifted it to her - this was in 2018. I think my boyfriend would describe this as an old lady perfume, and to some it may be, but I think if you appreciate complexity and classic perfumery, this is phenomenal. I hate this phrase, but this feels like an 'old-money' fragrance to me. Clearly, it’s the type of perfume a cultured Oxford student, probably studying History of Art or English would wear, someone who loves the contrast of a grungy techno club and classical elegance.

I debated back and forth on this for a while when I heard it was being discontinued. And I finally decided that I needed to own it because it is one of the 3 first fragrances I owned and wore as a teen in the 90s. The other two were Lagerfeld “Sun, Moon, Stars” and Givenchy “Organza”. I think my tastes as a young teen were a little beyond my years, not saying anyone can’t wear whatever they like, but I certainly did not smell like my CK One wearing peers that’s for sure. I couldn’t really recall what this smelled like, though I remembered adoring it. So I was a little surprised when I sprayed it for the first time in probably 25 years. Ew... I hate that sentence. It’s definitely yellow floral forward. And to me, it almost comes across as lotion-like, but in a really good way. It smells sunny, and sweet, a little powdery.... And I can definitely see the comparison to JPG Classique, only I’d say that Poeme is more elegant and soft. More ladylike. The strength and longevity are fantastic. But despite it smelling like such a sunny and vibrant day with flowers all around, it does kind of feel like it will be too heavy in the full blast heat of the summer. I will have to wait and see, but for now, in the spring with mild temperatures, it’s gorgeous. And I can’t help but think that I had really great taste as a teenager. I’m glad that FOMO won this round.

I am a more, modern Ropion lover. I like sultry, statement fragrances but something made me curious. I am so surprised how much I love this. This isn't a scent to get attention, it's personal. It's a snuggle, a hug. If you're someone with trauma, this might be really good for self-soothing. I feel the calming impact wearing this has on my anxiety. There is a certain confidence and safety I get from the deceptive florals. I sprayed it once, then twice...waited...sniffed..."hmmm..where is it?" DO NOT OVERSPRAY. This is not a Mugler or Coco Mademoiselle, you get no heads up. This has quiet confidence. Leave it. Let it soak into you with 2 sprays. See if you think it's weak after like, 10 minutes. The opening is gentle, and it's just not the way scents are these days. But, it rises with a crescendo as it heats with your skin. Then, the middle has this soft but secure floral center that stays on, and on and on. Its feels like a very sensuous love making between two gentle women. Very VERY feminine, but intimate. This really evokes a beauty of self-care. That you are wearing it to make you feel good about you, and no one else. There is a slight eroticism to the middle, but as I said before, it's very pure, innocent and private. "If you can't love yourself, how in the hell you gonna love some body else? Can I get an amen up in here?" Poême, "amen!"

    26. february 2012 I have tears in my eyes. Literally. Tears of happinies!!! Upon applying this perfume today after many many years in denial of this creation i was like striked by lightning. It is that moment when you realize that quantity is NOTHING against quality and you don ́t need dozens of bottles of different perfumes when you can have just couple of bottles of classic ones and it is enough. This fragrance is like magic potion: very potent, moderatly sweetand spicy and a bit on the heavy side. Do i need to say more than just one word: PERFECTION!!! Great sillage and AMAZING lasting power. Opens up with spicy notes blended in honey and later adds vanilla, peach and a lot of tuberose with heliotrope. It is strange that sometimes it completly dissapeares and then comes back again. It is like surrounding you, not "sitting" on you. Definitly will be one of my next buys and one of my most favorites. I am really grateful to Lancome not to launching endless flankers to this masterpiece but if they DO plan to discontinue this one, they are completly insane!!! Just launch a new advertising campaign and that ́s it! Or it is even not necessary, since quality of this more-than-words fragrance is more than enough to sell really well. Ultimatly seductive - not plain "sexy". A MUST HAVE!!!! This will be your best spent money on a perfume!!

I didn't know I loved Poeme years before I even tried it on! I've recently started to collect perfumes from when I was young, many of them I've never tried on, so I'm basically blind buying most of them. When I tried Poeme I was like "Huh? I've had this perfume before?" That sent me back to Fragrantica so find out....I haven't been on the page for maybe a decade. Found the page for Poeme and browsing through what other people thinks it reminds them of, I found it: Essence d’eau Gianfranco Ferre. It was gifted to me long ago and I really liked it, used it but never bought a new one. I've even forgotten it at all. How I remember it, they open pretty much the same but Poeme dries down not as rich. Essence d’eau Gianfranco Ferre felt warmer and more rounded maybe. Poeme stays more linear on me. I wear perfume by mood, not occation, and to me Poeme is a happy perfume that fits any occasion. It doesn't project too much on me and the notes that lingers most after hours is the peach, vanilla and leather - but there's also this "happy mix" of flowers in the deep background that I quite enjoy. I see JPG Classique is listed as one of the perfumes it reminds of, but I strongly disagree. JPG has been my signature scent for years and I don't feel any resemblance.

This is nice, not my favorite vintage, but I like it and see why others do too. There may be a little too much tuberose for my liking. I mostly pick up that along with mimosa, fruits, amber and vanilla. I really don’t smell peach, not surprised I only seem to smell peach in more modern, light fruity florals. Do peach notes tend to age and disappear? There are perfumes with tuberose that I can’t stand, but this is well done. I feel like my mom would’ve enjoyed this while she was alive. That makes sense she loved Amarige. Though I may never buy a full bottle, I will cherish this poetic vintage while it lasts. Edit: This has really grown on me to the point where I crave it! And today I smell the peach! It’s unique, I’d classify it as an amber yellow floral. What sets it apart is, in most ambers you can hardly detect the flowers, but in this I can smell the tuberose, jasmine and narcissus. Poeme is a beast! I sprayed 2 sprays and I am still getting wafts of it 12 hours later. I do have a vintage bottle, though. For such a strong fragrance, it does not agitate my allergies so that’s a plus, but I could see others being sensitive to it so use with caution! It really is a masterpiece and I better get a bigger bottle before it gets more rare and expensive.

I've already written a review but I just remembered funny-ish/cute thing that happened one day when I was wearing this some 6-7 months ago maybe. I used to take app car rides to get to the metro for my old job. One of those days I got in the car and about 2 minutes in, the driver, a full-on older señor here in Mexico asks me what I'm wearing. I tell him (gatekeeping is silly, girlies!) and he starts gushing about it and how it totally kicked his cologne he was wearing's butt lmao. Since he didn't appear to be familiar with it he asks me again a couple times for the name to remember it, what the bottle looks like, and where he can buy it. At this point I believe I have to mention that it is a "women's" fragrance. I am male and I wear it, and I don't believe in tying scent to gender more than as a very broad descriptor, despite this, I know that men in his age group and here in Mx can be weird about that kind of thing. But he wasn't he actually was like who cares, it's good! Before I left he asked once again, name and bottle colour. I wish I could've written it down for him lol! I have thought about it from time to time, wish Icould ask him if he did wind up getting it and if he enjoyed it. That's all!

Dearly Beloved. . . This was probably my first distinct fragrance memory. Saw it at TJMax when I was almost 16 and asked my mom to buy it for me. I remember her asking me “Are you sure you want this?” Yes! Now as I am pushing 40 this is a distinct scent memory. I had the bottle for 3 years because one spray smeared and distributed to my wrists and neck(which I would never do today) was all I needed. It is still a power house, currently on my 3rd bottle. The dry down is so good. If I had to describe this fragrance with one word I would use Voluptuous. It’s sweet, thick and honey like. I remember one summer night in Huntington village on Long Island, I was wearing it with the combination of Amber Romance lotion mixed with bath and body works exotic coconut lotion, this Columbian guy that I was dancing with was mesmerized and kept telling me how amazing I smelt insisting to know what perfume I was wearing. I remember the exact outfit I was wearing, a red ruffled blouse, black Levi skinny jeans with black heels. Men seem to like this fragrance. My husband can attest to that. But I think you have to have the right chemistry.

Sunshine in a bottle, sensual and rich. Mimosa, narcissus and orange blossom with amber and vanilla. Such a beautiful feminine perfume. Out of all of my perfumes, this is the one by far that gets the most compliments. I can recall this being released in 1995 with Lancôme using Juliette Binoche as the face of Poeme. Juliette had just starred in Three Colours Blue, before going on to star in The English Patient. I love everything about this perfume including the rich yellow and royal blue packaging (very 90’s) and the striking yet refined bottle. There’s nothing 90’s or dated about this perfume however. Sadly, current versions have been reformulated as many other reviewers have stated, resulting in far less staying power. The scent is thankfully still the same. Unfortunately it has also been discontinued although it can be found on eBay. I’m gutted that Lancôme discontinued it as it has been one of my signature perfumes for close to 30 years. For those who love it and are similarly dismayed at Poeme being discontinued, I do recommend Safanad by Parfums De Marly. Not exactly the same but very similar.

Poeme is to me one of those precious perfumes with which I have a relationship, a history. From the fascination it held when I was a teen sneaking into my mother's cabinet where it reigned supreme in it's yellow box, the smell of golden summer afternoons, pollen, flowers and nectar, the dreamy stare of Juliette Binoche in glossy magazines to my university years when, among the aquatics/transparent or intense smoky fruities of the early aughts I was in love with, it still held a romantic particularity and, somehow, I was never without it. I wore it on dates and I was complimented each and every time. The thing about Poeme is that it has a heart of pure romance, warm, luminous, drenched in yellow flowers and juicy fruits, it bewilders and enchants me and everytime I smell it feels just like being in love. So happy that the modern version is still good albeit it lost some of that potency that knocked you down if you sprayed too much. Which I loved, by the way. Poeme might be the only perfume I never minded smelling on people, young or old, summer, spring, autumn. Magical💖

Calling your fragrance "Poeme" is incredibly bold, especially when the brand underlines that yes, this IS like a poem - head, heart, and base notes don't exist here, only a poem of notes and fragrance. And goddamn if it doesn't work perfectly. It is very overwhelmingly floral, but Poeme shows how silly the word "floral" can be as a fragrance descriptive - because yes, Poeme smells like flowers, but it smells nothing like any other floral scents on the market. There's a playful powderiness that's only just lurking under the surface, and the belle of the ball is the bursting mimosa, narcissus and peach - but even as you think you identify the notes, more of them come; yellow florals, white florals, a little hint of fruitiness... and you think, oh, yup, this is a POEM - there's an absolute explosion of notes, but they all come together into one glorious, cohesive, intoxicating whole. As far as I can ascertain, it is not yet discontinued, but it is hard to find - so if you're a fan, I'd recommend to have a bottle or two in reserve.

This old gal remembers when Poeme was launched. Back then, it was all about the blue Himalayan poppy note. This is why the interior of the packaging box is blue. It was a very successful advertising campaign, and I like to think the marketing people at Tom Ford drew inspiration from this fantasy note advertising ploy for Black Orchid. Poeme is a rare beauty. A yellow floral that's very wearable even for people who don't particularly enjoy yellow florals. It's as beautiful to wear in Winter as in Spring or Fall, but might be a little too heady for Summer wear. That said, it is full of sunshine and I find it joyful, especially in the dark and grim days of Winter. I also think despite being a 90s perfume it doesn't smell dated. I get many compliments when I wear this, even from one of my daughters who only enjoys one or two perfumes. Silage is strong and longevity is fantastic, especially for a mainstream designer house. I get around 12 hours of wear from one application. The bottle is also beautiful with its elegant gold lid.

Poeme is amazing. It combines parts of many scents I enjoy into one neat package. The powdery sweetness of JPG Classique without the "fizz" I don't enjoy too much. The glowing yellow pollen cloud of Gucci Profumo Di Fiori with a luminosity and softness that scent doesn't quite have. The floral complexity of Anais Anais but airy where Anais Anais is grounded. The scent begins with a bright floral. In this stage it smells a touch dated and vintage, but lovely. Then it begins to smell like a floral bubblegum or cloud of bright yellow pollen. It ends in a vanilla custard-esque skin scent that peeks out a floral now and then. It's a scent of pretty contrasts. Vintage, yet modern. Sweet, yet a little sour. Gourmand, yet floral forward. Dynamic, yet transparent. I got a great price on 100ml at a local retailer, and I will cherish this scent for a long time. I think it might be a bit much to wear daily, but I also think it's likely to be on my shelf for a long time.

Usually I actively hate Lancome's fragrance offerings... but I had some advantage points to spend... my sister spoke highly of Poeme... Jacques Cavallier is a favourite of mine... so I took a chance. I'm glad I did because it's beautiful and I'm in love. I can smell the narcissus strongly at the start and then it seems to melt into a honeyed orange blossom tea like fragrance. I've never smelled mimosa and I see that is rated highly on the notes so maybe I'm missing something in my perception. I can certainly see the similarity with Classique though they don't smell the same- Classique I would say is more powdery sweet and overtly flirty/provocative (pink feather boa) whereas poeme is more romantic (pink orange sunset) and in a dreamy world of it's own. It smells like the daughter of Classique x Amarige where Chloe Narcisse is the maternal grandmother. I love it very much!!!

I was a bit afraid to use it today in 30+°C, but curiosity won. And apparently then the entire garden smells as if I spilled an entire bottle of parfums. But it is me wearing Poeme. And I am happy. The scent is warm, vanilla and pollen. Vanilla is usually my winter note, and I do think it is a bit too much, but the scent itself is beautiful. I am still favouring it in the autumn. It feels very complex and multifaceted. As such it does not get boring and it does feel like a poem. One of the best scents ever produced. Mimosa, vanilla, ylang, heliotrope. Softness, dryness, velvet. Delightful. I feel good in it despite the heat and I knew I will be making a statement. Fora woman not afraid to have her favourite aura. An eau de toilette of this would be lovely for summer. But this is the queen so maybe it is a good decision not to make flankers. I feel it on me for 24 hours.

The first time I tried it, it was a hot summer day and I did not like it, too cloying. I tried it again in winter and I really liked it. This is a beautiful yellow and white floral fragrance, very warm, sweet an opulent. It smells almost like honeyed flowers with some green and fruity touches in the opening, then in the drydown, I smell freesia and musk giving it a light soapy nuance. It is quite intense and I find it performs really beautifully in winter, spring and autumn, but it can become too much in very hot weather. Here in the Netherlands it is easily available in stores, so I don't know whether it has been or will soon be discontinued. If so, it would be a pity because I find it quite unique. It is not the typical yellow- white floral tropical fragrance (which I like, anyhow), this one is much more versatile and can be worn really all year round.

Now we are talking...my dearest favorite floral bomb of all time! The name says it all, really - it is indeed a poem, a masterpiece. A very complex blend with not even one bad or sharp note. It's intensely flowery but not in an airy way, it is rich, opulent, creamy thick. Radiating mature gold-light feminine energy with noble grace. Sweet, but not like a dessert, more like a nectar. Noticeable and unique but not overpowering. Extremely sensual. I can't love it more, it's one of the most addictive scents I have ever felt in my life. Top-notch performance with excellent sillage and longevity. I am so sad that they ruined this one and watered it down, and even the new version is now nearly impossible to find where I live. Luckily I have at least found a decent dupe. If you can get your hands on the original vintage one, do so, it's worth every cent.

I think this is an example of a perfume in which the reformulation is an improvement. I've loved this perfume since it 'relaunched' and have wanted a bottle of my own for some time. It really smells like a sunny, beautiful spring day. Warm, creamy florals and a classy feminine vibe which to me is the perfect mix of youthful and mature, whimsical and self-assured. I got my hands on an older bottle for cheap, and I'm surprised by just how different it smells! Much more powdery, still that lovely springtime energy but definitely smells much more vintage or as some would say 'old lady'. I like it, but it's somewhere between 'like' and 'ok' whereas the current is an absolute 'love'. It's also true that my older bottle might smell a bit different due to aging. Either way, I'll most definitely be buying a new bottle. So glad it's back

Poême is one of those rare fragrances that transcends gender and time. I love this scent, even as a guy, and I wear it without hesitation. There’s something deeply magnetic about it, whether it’s on my own skin or drifting from someone passing by. To me, it opens like sweet honey and luminous florals, wrapped in soft vanilla and a delicate rose. It doesn’t shout. It glows. The best way I can describe it is walking in beauty—graceful, sensual, and quietly powerful. This is a classic scent in the truest sense. It feels intentional, romantic, and composed, the kind of fragrance that lingers not just in the air, but in memory. Classic perfumes tend to work beautifully with my skin chemistry, and Poême is no exception—it melts into me and becomes something personal. Sensational. Timeless. Unapologetically beautiful.

I've seen many people wondering if this has been discontinued. It's not discontinued though unfortunately it has been reformulated to death. I always wanted to own a bottle as i love the original. I still love the smell though, it's still poeme despite it's reformulation but it doesn't last even an hour anymore. Other then that it still smells great but allas i won't be buying a bottle since spraying this is like spraying air. I hope they do a re-reformulation like they did with dior addict after one first failed attempt years ago, and make it whole again. Although i do want to stress that i am not saying that this is a failure. The scent truly is amazing. they managed to leave the essence of poeme. I just don't want to pay this much money for such a short lived scent but that's just personal preference. :)

Mmm... finally have a full bottle after dreaming of this for months. Bright yellow floral that is slightly soapy and sweet. (I just realized that I may have an affinity towards soapy florals..as long as they don’t smell too shampoo-y) I have to disagree about this being too strong for the summer. It definitely is a powerful scent, but the notes, especially the mimosa, ylang ylang, and datura, just scream warm weather to me. I grew up knowing datura as “angels trumpet” and on summer nights they smell heavenly. This lasts and projects for hours. I’m so glad I happened to find a bottle at the airport, as this isn’t the easiest to find. I feel like the bottle and color of the juice matches the scent perfectly. Sunny, happy, somehow elegant and casual at the same time. I find it very unique too!

It was 2019 and my family took me to amsterdam for my 18th birthday. I wasn't into fragrances nor had a distinctive nose about notes, but since I sprayed this on my wrist, I couldn't help but put my arm around my face just to get a smell of this- not that it needed to be close for me to get the smell, its sillage is enormous. On the second day I was convinced this was going to be my signature scent even at that age. Whenever I wear this it never ceased to amaze me and I get tons of compliments. Two of my biggest fears are that this perfume being discovered by bigger community and this perfume being discontinued :D. Poeme for me means a lot, like something that made just for me and is a secret I keep for myself. Absolutely adore this perfume and the memories it brings to me...

Sometimes just reminding myself that this exists makes me want to cry. I could delve into psychosociological reasons but mainly i’ll say this represents nostalgia for how people in general used to be. To me it represents unbreakable kindness. Relentless compassion. Stoic resilience. It represents all passionate women that helped me grow up, represents the freedom we are now collectively slowly waving goodbye at. It represents being passionately in love with our lives, not being harrassed with ugly and miserable information about the world every second, just picking a time and a place and being there, being present. Living. This is silly. Its just a fragrance. But that’s what fragrance does. If this gets discontinued or changed (irrecognizably) i’ll surely cry.

Hmm so I remember when this fragrance first launched. There was so much money put into the launch and I remember going from shop to shop to shop to get free samples. I fell in love with the warm, enveloping yellow floral-vanilla experience. It was oh so feminine and made such an impression on me as an emerging fragrance fan. To me, my most recent purchase does seem like Lancôme have toned down the intensity. I remember this being a powerhouse. Not in the clear-a-room way, just people who knew what it was would instantly recognise it. I feel it's lost a bit of that magic. Nonetheless, it remains a beautiful perfume and I do wonder why Lancôme have not done much with this one. (Perhaps we'll see a revival with fun flankers in coming years? I hope so.)

I coveted this fragrance from when I first smelled it as an adolescent in a duty free. It was always far too expensive and sadly, I never acquired it. Fast forward to 40 years old and I'd kinda slightly forgotten about her. I was purchasing some other perfumes and stumbled across Poême. Damn... if it isn't as utterly beautiful as I remember! Almost through my 1st bottle as I just keep reaching for this honeyed, seductive yellow floral. I have so many older perfumes as projection, longevity and sillage just knock many modern perfumes socks off. This really is so stunning though....its timeless. It doesn't seem dated to me, at all. Even my 16 year old daughter adores this gem! Definitely in my top perfumes of all time.

Performs somewhat like a bodyspray, but Poême is ultra! feminine, so beautiful, flowery, vanilic, dreamy and very soft. It is a huge yellow flower bouquet sprinkled with vanilla dust 🥰 The nectar is also detectable and provides a sense of ...sweet density among all the beautiful and whimsical flower accords. The trick for longevity and projection is, of course, to spray often and spray it on clothes and hair as well... even though the alcohol in it may not be ideal for the hair 😁 I spray away and endulge in the flowery-sweet allure and temptation of this one. Simply gorgeous and breathtaking - like a dewy summer meadow in the morning sun, so I am glad that I bought a 100 ml edp for an okay price.

Just remember for all you Perfume Connoisseurs out there,...this perfume is potent.... in the best way ... and should (should , that is) worn in cooler weather. Indeed, anything below 55 degrees is perfect. One spritz is all you'll ever need, all day or all night!! If the weather is 60F or above, of course you can where it, but personally I would go extremely light. Just imagine being dipped in honey, rolled around in mimosa flowers, and baking in the sun on the beach. Wearing this now in Oct, where we have a nice cold , unusual 47 degrees, and right away I said "it is TIME". It's warm, sexy, and fills my whole backyard as I sit near the fireplace ....it is absolute Heaven.

I love Poême! My mother’s perfume back in 1997 and my forever and ever! I love her so much, I paid for an arm and a leg to get the original formulation. She’s potent, but not in an offensive way; rather, she’s alluring, inviting, and she captivates and never lets go. A fragrance for women of all decades and so full of life. Not juvenile and not too mature. She’s as unique as day one. To me, there’s no other perfume like her. Liquid time capsule. Sprays of nostalgia. Nothing compares. @Samasama I couldn’t put it as poetic (hehe pun intended) as you. Your description made me tear up. That’s what Poême totally does for me. My most cherished fragrance of all time.

My favourite perfume of all time. It's magnificent! I was gifted my first bottle when it launched and I've never gone without it since. It is powerfully evocative and still, after all of these years, it remains relevant and original. When I wear it, I am always complimented and asked what it is. Definitely my signature scent! Best of all, it dries down to an amazing super-clean scent, like no other. I adore it. My best friend used to steal it from me, as if I'd not notice. Well I bloody did and felt super protective of MY fragrance.10/10 for innovation, luxury and longevity. I have nothing negative to say about this perfume ❤️

Lancôme’s Poême is a true masterpiece of perfumery, celebrated for its radiant yellow floral accord that exudes elegance and warmth. I first discovered this gem at Lancôme’s boutique on the Champs-Élysées, where its enchanting blend of luminous florals instantly captivated me. With eternal longevity and strong sillage, Poême is a timeless fragrance that leaves a lasting impression. Ideal for lovers of rich floral scents, it creates an intoxicating aura that elevates any occasion. Sadly, this exceptional perfume has been discontinued, making it a rare and cherished find for collectors and enthusiasts. I’d rate it 8.2 out of 10.

Emotion in a bottle, that’s what Poeme means to me. It’s the fragrance that awakens my purest, most innocent memories. It smells like childhood, like purity. This is what LOVE smells like. I would wear it every day of the year, at any time of day, but I feel it shines most in the cold season. It’s the memory of summer on a chilly winter day, it warms your heart and soul. I love it deeply and consider it my signature scent. When I wear it, I feel like a woman, a strong and beautiful woman. I loved and wore it throughout my 20s, I adore and savor it now in my 30s, and I see myself cherishing it through every stage of my life.

The scent is a masterpiece, so is the bottle - a must have for any collector. You'll like it if you like fruity scents, you'll like it if you like the oiliness of tuberose, you'll like it if you like the powdery honeyed mimosa filled with rays of the summer sun. Might be too sweet for some, and it's projecting like there was no tomorrow so one spray goes a long way! Also, it is one of the very few examples that can be used to show how fragrance should evolve over time - it's the furthest form a linear fragrance and just for that it deserves to be resurrected. Buy it if you can! It's been discontinued quite recently :( 9/10

This is MY SIGNATURE!!!!! It is no longer being made which is horrifying, but the first thing I learned when I sprayed it is that, current perfumes are terrible quality in comparison to the ones produced in the early 90s like this one. I think this might be due to the luxurious material status perfume’s would have had years ago, meanwhile now, most people, even those of the working class can afford multiple. This smells like something you would smell in a high rise reception area in New York, floral and a little warm but light, a touch bookish, smelling like archival magazines or old pages. Need to repurchase it.

I have hesitated buying this for ages. I know it’s discontinued and will soon be impossible to find, but I couldn’t find a 1 oz bottle to risk the blind buy. Finally I just took the risk and got the 3.3 oz, and I am so happy I did! This has the warm, slightly fabric softener vibe of peppery orange blossom, but it isn’t overpowering or suffocating/headache inducing. Not outdated at all. Rather, Poeme is cozy and beautiful. I can’t for the life of me figure out why it was discontinued, but I’m so pleased that I took the chance and grabbed it before it’s gone.

Poeme was my first luxury perfume ever. Got into a store and randomly smelled perfumes and this stood up, I was suddenly in love !! Very sophisticated, heavenly scent. I though it was a bit of a mature and brave scent when I was 19 years old and just going to bars or university :) As I am 27 now, I feel like it would work better with my age and lifestyle. I would wear it to work or a nice restaurant, to a date... It gives “serious”, not “casual” or “humorous”. Definitely not a summer perfume, great for cold, cloudy, rainy, snowy days!

Captivating from the first spray, echoes seductive, feminine and sweet at the same time. This perfume smells both mature and playful to me somehow. Love the middle and the base notes, narcissus, ylang ylang and amber dance well together. I don't think it is a dated fragrance, well maybe technically it is, yet still I don't think Poeme smells 'old', it smells mature. Reminds me of a put together, assertive woman. I strongly disagree that Poeme is old-fashioned, for it is the first perfume I got compliments on and I am 23 hahah.
