Rôses Berberanza

Rôses Berberanza has a controversial opening, but I don't find it as bad as some others say. It smells like pistachios and hazelnuts, but like the real, savory nuts, not like ice-cream or cake. The contrast of the nuts, the intense, syrupy rose and the boozy rum note can be a bit overwhelming and confusing. I understand where the comments about a fermented smell are coming from. But it's interesting and I don't hate it. After a few minutes the notes come together as one beautiful blend, and then there is no doubt anymore: This is a stunning fragrance. Sweet, jammy, rich, plush red rose for days, on a base of benzoin, safron, delicious vanilla and some other spices and resins I can't single out. The pistachios move to the background and blend in with the other delectable gourmand notes. After the initial blast has calmed down, the fragrance takes no sharp turns anymore. It just stays on for an eternity while it subtly warms up and gets better and better. Compared to Parfait de Rôses, the other gourmand rose in the Maison Lancôme line, this is spicier and not quite as sugary sweet. Don't get me wrong, it's very sweet too. But if Parfait is fluffy and pink, Berberanza is deep red, mysterious and velvety. Ôud Bouquet, the third rose in the collection, is unsurprisingly sharper and woodier than both. If you can afford it and really love sweet roses, it wouldn't be redundant to have them all. This is made for evening wear and for the colder months. I bought Rôses Berberanza over a year ago, and today was the first time I sprayed it on early in the morning. It just didn't feel the same as when I wear it after work or for a night out, even though I wear lots of "night" fragrances in the daytime without a second thought.

My expectations for Rôses Berberanza were sky high, and for once they weren't disappointed: this is the outrageous, candy-sweet, fruity, honeyed, nutty, jammy rose scent of my dreams. I have Mancera's Roses Vanilla and I thought I loved that one, but it pales in comparison to this one, both in terms of power and in terms of sheer deliciousness. As others have mentioned, the opening contains a note that's slightly off, maybe a misplaced tangerine (I can't quite put my finger on it), but that quickly fades, and from the very start there's also this wonderful, powdery rose jam that overpowers everything else. That stays present until the very end of the development, which easily lasts all day, gradually shifting focus from the fruity aspect to the warmer gourmand presence of vanilla and honey. It's the very opposite of an insonspicuous fragrance, and it could easily become overwhelming on a warm day - or at any time if it's not used very lightly, or if you're just not in the mood for it. I wouldn't wear it to work, for instance. But how delightful it smells when the circumstances are just right! It's like a very good version of one of those Loukhoum scents, but with more focus on the rose, and extra everything (raspberry, nuts, vanilla,...) And it's very well-balanced, which is imported in such an outrageous scent - it's extremely sweet, but not in a sickening way. I better start saving up for a full bottle, expensive though it is, because I'm not at all sure my decant will survive the fall, let alone the winter. The only thing to decide is whether I love this one more than its sister Parfait de Rôses - they're both so wonderful, I'm always sure I prefer the one I happen to be wearing...

I spent my day with this beauty.. Stunning! This is made with perfection, there's an opening, a heart and then base notes as should be (most perfumes transit very quickly and often become linear too soon). This beauty lasts 12+ hours, the opening is indeed funky but only lasts for a few minutes, so don't judge it by it's opening. Then the Rose shines, an occidental jammy Rose, at first try it reminded me of Mancera Roses Vanille (Which I have but can't bring myself to like it) but done way waaay better, it's sweet but never cloying nor vulgar. Ultimate Modern Chic. Then the woods join in and I could swear I smell a light Oud that darkens the Rose. This phase lasts for no less than 3-4 hours and then the Rose gradually disappears. Then comes the dry down.. HEAVENLY and lasts forever. It's a Creamy Boozy Honeyed Vanilla and Hazelnut. It feels to me (not the same exact smell) like La Nuit Tresor drydown, I just can't stop sniffing this deliciousness.. This is a true Gem! Well-worth its price tag, but it needs time to develop and unfold. It's like wearing 3 different perfumes consecutively. P.S. The bottle is a joy to look at with a magnetic cap. Lancome are amazing!

Wow!! This is jammy rose and benzoin heaven!! I think if you have a large fragrance collection and you’ve experienced nutty fragrances before, the opening is just that: nutty. It smells like real pistachios. I can sort of see “feet” or “cheese” but not really. This is gorgeous! It reminds me of Guerlian’s Bois d’Armenie but with added gourmand nuances and jammy rose added. It’s very potent after the opening and it has enormous siliage. I mostly perceive the rose, raspberry and pistachio with vanillic woods and benzoin. This is just a first impression. Will update with full days wear. Edit 3 weeks later. Yep! I love this! I love the way the fragrance floats above my skin creating the most fantastic cocoon of fragrance. The raspberry note is the same exact raspberry found in LVEB Oui. The opening is tart raspberry, tangerine and pistachio! Very realistic pistachio and I like it! But even if you don’t, this fragrance projects for hours so after 10 minutes, the nuttiness takes a step back and the beautiful wood notes and benzoin take a huge step forward. I start picking up the rum and tangerine later in the mids.

Having managed to secure a bottle of Roses Berberanza, it arrived today. It is, of course, all that it should be and I live in hope to also secure - somehow, somewhere - a bottle of the others in this sublime line, perhaps most of all also the beyond desirable Parfait de Roses. It is a travesty that Lancome should discontinue these most glorious concoctions and it is hoped that they will eventually see sense and reintroduce the original line without reformulations or other unnecessary trimming of quality. The scented candles I have seen on offer with these fragrances can but be a mere shadow of what the EdPs are. In the meantime, I will treasure Roses Berberanza and keep it for the most special of occasions , even when a special occasion is when I deem it to be so, such as today, an ordinary Monday in August. Roses Berberanza is perfection and I am glad that I have, at least, had the chance to sniff and test the whole line on plenty of occasions before they were, so sadly, discontinued. Please, good people of Lancome, do bring back these beautiful fragrances; I am not alone in wishing for their return.

Ahhhh, this is a rosey mood. Okay. The first spray might rip the hairs off of your nose so beware while spraying. The disadvantage ends right there, so point away from facial area just because of this sharpness. This is a tart Rose perfume, it does not pretend to be anything else, whatever else that is in it does not come a close second or third, however you are able to pick up all the other notes seemlessly. The rum, the wood(which gives it a bit of an oud vibe to me)the delicious vanilla, I detect a bit of dried wet fruit too(there is a specific sweet stank to this perfume)Dare is I say that there are other flowers besides rose? It is like someone picked some fresh roses, washed them in some sweet, dirty fermented fruit water and laid them on some vanilla liqueur hanger to dry. The dry down reminds me greatly of Montale's Intense Cafe but mellower. Overall it is a beautiful well articulated and blended rose fragrance. It is long lasting, projects and quite versatile. To me it is all season wear but with more glory on winter season and or cold nights. #MYOPINION

I got a small decant.. From the top.. Oof there's those sweaty nuts. Frankly they are quite like actual sweaty nuts.. n I don't mean the ones squirrels eat.. a hint of something cheese-like. Basically this is like Parfait but with added scrunge, frowst, or funk as the Americans say. It does dissipate after about ten mins but it's really not a great smell. After that I can tell it has ginger n honey n roses, those are the main notes I discern separately but otherwise it's a blended whole. I do quite like it after a while but it's not one you want to be carrying in your handbag for a 'freshen up' whilst out. If you want to wear this in company you probly best marinating for half n hour at home first to ensure the cheese has.. melted. It's a boozy Parfait de Roses overall. Parfait is more powdery, Berberabza is more rich. It doesn't project as much though. On me this just sits close.. whereas Parfait floats around me like a cloud n I don't have to wrist sniff to get it. This isn't a safe blind buy, brace yourself for the start..

I picked up a decant of this and, upon first spray, was immediately reminded of the cringy opening of Rihanna's Rebelle. Out of curiosity, I tested it on the skin a few days later and had a different experience with the opening; SUPER boozy and tart. It was like sticking my nose in a glass of raspberry whiskey garnished with ginger. The rose and sweetness come out later; like 15-odd minutes later and gradually intensify thereafter. I'm not sure if the tartness would stay around longer in cold (it's a 98F day today) but the sweetness pulls me back for another whiff. I must say the blending in this one is remarkable: nothing really sticks out and the transition to drydown is smooth rather than stepped, if that makes sense. I'll have to give this another try in different temps but thought I'd contribute my first impressions while they're fresh. Cheers! Edit: 05.2021 Grabbed a full bottle before this disappeared. I love this! Tart opening into sweet, syrupy, boozy rose; unlike anything else I've tried. Just love.

This is so pretty. After first spray, the rose in this reminds me of the ones in oud satin mood and delina exclusif. The pistachio note gives it a green nutty, almost stinky/sweaty scent. It sounds bad, but it is GORGEOUS. Gives it a macaroon-like texture and depth that just isn't in other perfumes. I've also found that nobody really noticed it when I wore this fragrance. Honeyed jammy rose, slightly fruity from the raspberry, nutty, slightly boozy, and very much sweet (in the most beautiful way possible, not juvenile at all, and isn't cloying). Literally every time I wear this, there is always someone (1 or more) who takes a deep breath and asks what I'm wearing. This is what Aphrodite would wear if she walked the earth. It is luscious, voluptuous, and unbelievably feminine. While it's absolutely delectable, there's something in there that smells so skin-like. It stops the fragrance from getting into overly-sweet-and-rosy territory. I think it's the pistachio note that gives it that unique aspect.

Roses Berberanza is an intense and luxurious smelling rose scent. And it has layers and develops beautifully from a fresher rose into a powdery, deep, woody, boozy rose! I think that this might be the best complex rose centred fragrance on the market because it has citruses, woods, fruits, honey, spices, nuts, boozy notes, balsamic notes, green notes and vanilla. And I can detect all of these throughout the wear and all these notes smell incredible mixed together! Such an awesome scent, and nobody talks about it?!?! I have tested it side by side with Oud Bouquet and it’s way better for me. That one is very Middle Eastern leaning and more popular nowadays. This is a rosé scent very gourmand, with lots of rum and honey! Performance is great, bottle absolutely luxurious but the price is quite steep. With all these said, Roses Berberanza goes straight to my to buy list!! I am not the biggest rose lover, but I can appreciate something if it’s really good, and Roses Berberanza is!

I'm not usually a floral person, nor do I love rose unless it's done in an edible way. I do love loukhoum/Turkish delight type scents though, and I absolutely LOVE Roses Berberanza. It was a blind buy and I'm sooo pleased. And what are people talking about with the opening? The opening is my favorite part!!! It's a delicious nutty pistachio that is so delicious and edible!! I only wish the pistachio note lasted longer, as it's amazing. Then I get the jammy rose with the nuttiness in the background and it's just splendid. This isn't a cloying gourmand by any means either. I recently acquired Mon Parfum Cristal by Micallef, and although lovely, it's a beast mode scent and very sweet, bordering on cloying. But Roses Berberanza is edible and delicious without going overboard. I think that's why I love it so much!! Highly recommend if you like a jammy, mouthwatering rose and a gourmand that won't give you a cavity. Sillage is very good and longevity is about 6+ hours

Oh my GOODNESS, this is so incredibly DECADANT! What a luscious, intoxicating gourmand. This fragrance is roasted Turkish Antep pistachio baklava with a background of sweet, boozy rose syrup. In opening on my skin I INSTANTLY get those scrumptious roasted nuts with a bit of boozy sweetness. That delicious rose syrup gets sweeter with the rum, honey and vanilla as it develops on my skin. 'Roses Berberanza' has the perfect amount of soft-spice and balsamic facets without being unbearable. This is my absolute number 1 pistachio fragrance, a masterpiece to my nose. Actually 'Roses Berberanza' has become my favourite rose scent. It's more complex than other gourmand roses I've tried like Roses Vanille, Intense Cafe and even Oud Bouquet & Parfait de Roses. The performance is nuclear too! The best I've tried from Maison Lancome, Hands down. A classy delicacy wrapped in a gorgeous bottle. Lancome, bring this BACK!

A rich voluptuous gourmet rose, spicy and dark with long lasting presence. There is a slightly musty opening which I see others have observed. I am aware of it and it’s not my favourite part of how this unfolds on the skin. Having said that, it only lasts a few minutes and then appears to settle down. I also note that not everyone is getting this opening, so it must be chemistry or how we individually perceive certain notes. It’s supposed to be the pistachio but to me it smells more like a very salty blue cheese, but only momentarily. After that you’re rewarded with a syrupy oud style rose that will envelope you for many hours. I own both this one and Parfait de Roses. I prefer PDR most of the time because it’s luscious and isn’t challenged by any nutty airs, it’s pure floral/rose perfection. But I like this one from time to time because it’s got more character, it’s a bit of a bad-ass Rose.

Why is this rated only 4.04?! Seriously, it should be more than that. If people dislike this just because of that musty accord, then they probably haven’t smelt pistachio that well. I think the composition begs to be recognized as a successful heir to Noir de Noir in its use of a savory accord to modify the repetitive rose-oud genre. In using pistachio allied with saffron, RB gives off that truffle-like facet to which people refer to as feet or stinky socks. I think it’s unfair to define RB as just that since the accord is very nuanced. It effectively diffuses the sweetness with its savory warmth. Overall, the scent profile is pretty but not petty in its agreeability. The rum which sheens over the creamy base is spectacular. The violets add a lipsticky hint: all in all, the ratios are spot on. No harsh edges. Reiterative but perfected.

Rose Frags can be tricky. Too strong here, too strong there, many times cloying. I thought i loved tiziana terenzis delox, as it was thr smoother from intense cafe or roses vanille and even mfk oud satin mood. But this one... its the smoothest of them all... most wearable even. I think i see fragrances now i terms of wearability and smoothness, as i dont wanna feel like ive had enough of it two hours in. I can appreciate the opening, its a bit like fermented rose w cookie, but u realize its that pistachio accent that i personally love. Makes this unique for sure. This is super versatIle! Day, night, date, work, errands, coffeeeee u name it! I could use this every day any time. A red velvet cake, very smooth and cozy rose, what i wanted Oud Bouquet to be. Well more praline would do it. Amazing quality with longevity and projection.

Berberanza is the more interesting rose of the Maison line. Those of you that like complex scents, with a slight arabic tone will gravitate to this one rather than its sister Parfait. The rose is joined by a nut accord with pistachio and hazelnut. The fruit (raspberry, saffrom and oud) accord add texture and interest, but this isnt a oud bomb, and its very restrained so its hard to notice. The honeyed boozy vanilla note coats the rose as it tells its story. Unlike Parfait, where I felt it held pretty linear during its heart/middle phase , Berberanza adds more interest during this phase with powdery nuts and honeyed boozy floral. It gets to the base rather quickly vs Parfait. The sillage is big and longevity is long..typical of a quality scent at this price point. A fun ride for a rose lover.Go easy on the trigger.

When Lancome created PdR (Parfait de Roses) and RB(Roses Berberanza), they created two sister fragrances which resemble each other despite being opposing personalities. Both are refined gourmand rose perfumes and are linear scents.The similarity ends there. PdR is the friendly sister that everybody likes and appreciates while being sophisticated at the same time. RB is the rebel sister whom people either love or cant stand. She has her own personality and not everyone can handle her. But she has a more unique personality than her crowd pleasing sister PdR. The magic in both perfumes lie in the scent clouds they create. I love both equally. PdR is like a rose fine wine that one saves for special occasions while RB is an exotic rose based dessert.

Blind bought this online and I love it! This is gourmand fragrance that can be unisex if you like sweet powdery fragrances. It is not sickenly sweet it smells like a tasty pistachio desert at opening drying down to a wonderful powdery scent with sexy honey but not dirty. Long lasting in 90 degree heat it is still on my skin after 8 hours projecting at least 6 feet with a lingering scent trail. One spray only or it will be cloying. Sprayed on clothes it will be there the next day! This is the type of scent I like to wear to bed or out on a date because it’s yummy! Bottle is beautiful and sturdy it looks great on a vanity. I highly recommend this perfume if you like gourmand powdery scents.

Okay so I blind buy this because the review were so intimidated. Some of them didnt like the opening because it’s sickly sweet. Couldnt agree more! However, when the ginger, tangerine in the opening scent start to mellow down, i get the sweet jammy, nutty rose which is so perfectly well blended. It’s so beautiful!!! This definitely not for those who want a smooth light rose smell. It’s strong!! The projection, sillage and longevity are outstanding! Tbh, the opening is a bit familiar, i dont remember the fragrance. But i will tell you guys once i found out! Edit: The opening is a bit similar with Emporio Armani Because It’s You!!!! But Roses Berberanza is more stronger and sickly sweet!!!

My favourite perfume. Lasts all day and night. It’s so boozy and rosey, fruity and spicy, deep, sweet and bold with lots of mature confident sex appeal. Back up bottle worthy. I understand the pistachio note being stinky but I love it and even crave the ‘stink’ lol. It also reminds me of pineapple that has sat for too long and started to ferment. Pineapple is my favorite fruit too. Reminds me of Rose Rouge by Van cleef and Arpels but an amped up version. Edit: so this has personality for days and it changes in heat and frigid weather. In the heat its such boozy jammy fruits and extreme sweetness. In the cold its primarily the warmth of the booze, oud, vanilla and ginger. So nice.

I wish Lancome could bring it back because god, what an amazing fragrance! This is a sweet jammy rose because of the honey and raspberry, with lots of nuttiness from the pistachio and hazelnut and lots of booziness from the orange, ginger and rum. Simply a mesmerizing fragrance imo. I don't think this is blind buy safe and the note combinations could be off putting for some if they're not used to that scent profile. To me it feels like a sensual oriental rose fragrance.

This is the second fantastic scent I've tried from this line. Salty, tangy, tart, tannic wine like rose with a weightless, magically un-cloying powdered candy dusting. Lovely dusty, woody, metallic pistachio. I get a significant amount of very plush, romantic violets very akin to Chanel's Misia but more interesting here. I don't understand the people who say the beginning is "difficult" at all but oh well.

This one is so lovely. It was a blind buy success. It's a deep heavy hitter rose that feels syrupy, sweet and gourmand. It becomes woodier and almost smoky deeper in the dry down. Love! eta: I agree that this sits in the same circle as Delina Exlusif in that this is a powerful, sweet jammy rose. There is a note in DE that disagrees with my nose, so don't write this one off if DE isn't your cup of tea.

Love this had to have it in my collection. It was my favorite in the line santal being my second. Its strong and only one spray is necessary. The rose note is dominent with a woody background i have a hard time picking out the other notes. But a year has passed and this perfume seems to have morphed into a sweeter and heavier smell and u dont enjoy it as much anymore.

The most delicious rose I've smelled thus far, true rose gourmand. There is a lot going on here, lots of contrasting elements, but it all works together. I get the funky note in the opening, and it's not pleasant, but it takes just a minute for that to settle. Nutty, sweet, rosey, doesn't go too warm or too fresh, it's right in the middle. Love this.

This is another one I love absolutely with no holds barred, even though, "I don't like rose." This one has rose, but its notes include raspberry, honey, rum, and vanilla. The rose is almost necessary to keep this from being too sweet. It still remains very sweet, IMHO, but sweet in a very uplifting, upbeat way.

At first it’s a candied apple spice bomb. I can’t believe there’s no cinnamon note in this. Later everything mellows and out comes the comforting vanilla, rum & honey. Super pleasant gourmand with only slight floral & woody notes. Nothing green comes forth in my experience. Unisex for Fall/Winter.

My ideal rose fragrance. Jammy, syrupy and thick rose. Reminds me a bit of Rose all dae by Gallagher without the metallic note. Not too sweet, just pure perfection. If you’re a lover of jammy roses, definitely give this one a try! It’s a classic!

Beautiful gourmand rose, the pistachio note takes it to another level. Unique and addicting

The most interesting thing for me about this fragrance is the opening, the way it perverts a now well worn trope with subtle but quirky additions and interventions. That pistachio note isn’t itself an unusual counterpoint in a jammy rose context, but its treatment—honeyed and pungently raw, a pistachio confusing itself for a roasted hazelnut, trying to roll itself out of a rum spill—interjects a strangeness you can’t quite place, within a setting you otherwise think you know like the back of your hand. It takes about 15-20 minutes for this stage to reach its peak and dissolve into things, and by that time, whatever you think of this unusual opening, your expectations have been adjusted and you’re not sure what to expect. I like that it doesn’t veer too much in the direction of sticky plush, that it seems to expand thematically rather than contract further into its built-in decadence. It goes somewhere woody and slightly sulfurous—in the direction of Rasquinet’s “Outrecouidant” and “Russian Tea”. In many ways, beyond the opening impressions, this feels like Outrecouidant disguised as La Vie Est Belle. It’s got its share of Belle’s bombast, but it infuses that with something sharper and more angular. A sense of the rum persists into the body; it advances and pivots a little after the opening, bonding with woods. Whether it’s there or not, I smell a streak of Iso E Super running through the remainder of the fragrance. It doesn’t stick out like a sore thumb, but it’s prominent. While it gives the fragrance a sort of softly spiked exterior, a sense of the prickly maybe, its profile is recognizable enough that it can make things feel a little basic. It eventually calms down. The opening is most interesting but the dry down is for me the most satisfying aspect. I enjoy it until it’s gone, hours later. Aside from the already mentioned scents, Roses B reminds me of Kurkdjian’s ouds, Amouage Blossom Love, Aramis Rose Calligraphy, and Tauer’s Rose Flash. It also reminds me of Amouage’s Opus X; specifically X’s opening phase, where rose is steeped in a varnish later used to lacquer wood. I like what I’ve smelled of Rasquinet’s fragrances. I’m an admirer. I like that he makes bold decisions and executes his ideas without gutting them into mass-marketable ghosts of their original uniqueness. His fragrances tend to do the things I hope a fragrance will have the spine to do, and maintain the courage of conviction.

I at first smelt Parfait de Roses and Roses Berberanza together at a Lancôme counter, before testing them more thouroughly one after another. According to Lancôme, these two rose fragrances showcase two different types of roses in perfumery: Rose Centifolia and Rose Damascena, respectively. Smelling them side by side, the two roses contrast each other like light and shadow, and I think Lancôme did succeed in hightlighting certain special characteristics of these two different types of roses. Roses Berberanza is significantly darker than Parfait de Roses as a whole, but its opening has a very interesting creamy, even buttery feeling around the ruby rose that really evokes the rich aftertaste of pistachio! After about 20 minutes, Roses Berberanza soon proceeds to turn dark purple by wrapping the damask rose with oud and patchouli in order to highlight its spicy, fruity tart and green aspects. Sadly, on me, Roses Berberanza seems to favour thoughtless hard punch than taking time to adjust the subtle nuances. The end results is a rather generic commercial rose-patchouli-oud accord, with an intense, purple, gooey plum-like fruitchouli over a the ubiquitous raspberry rose-oud combination. At least the late dry down has the last saving grace, with the rose becomes more and more tart to cut through the intense rose-patchouli-oud accord, as if the rose sacrificed itself to shed its wilted petals into the saccharine darkness with a moderate result. The sillage is quite heavy throughout its developement, while the longevity is around 10 hours on my skin. Personally, I was fascinated by the initial pistachio impression! But the main body of Roses Berberanza, the conventional, clumsy rose-patchouli-oud accord, left me utterly uninspired. Like the other offerings from this exclusive range of Lancôme, I would recommend giving it a try based on the interesting and evocative opening of pistachio,but I would also suggest against a blind buy especially to those who are not enamoured with ubiquitous fruitchouli and faux "rose-oud" in commercial western fragrances.

Showstopper, Gypsy Rose Lee style. Deeply pink, lushly feminine scent with masses of hidden depth that ends being up a lot tougher than you may think at first. Yes, yet another rose-woods combo, but with many extra corners, luxe detailing and a really original take on it. Rose is unmistakably on top here, a lady boss in a silk blouse with killer charm - layer after layer of waxy petals and essence and oils and... that's it! What makes this one stand out is its thick, unapologetic, almost greasy richness. The oils and nuttiness are so pillowy-lush that smelling this blind I could have sworn after a while that I got a hint of cocoa butter - which must have been the pileup of pistachio and vanilla and benzoin I guess. That unctuous, rich, gooey centre is what really makes it work. You can even see the resin sheen on your arm after spraying this - no mistaking the rich effect is for real. It's all smooth and sweet - really toothsome sweet - almost too much so for my taste, but then again there's the other half of the game, a really strong rich mellow woody throb underneath - volume turned right down and made discreet, but giving all that floral flourish a solid backbone and armature of oud. Too femme and conventional, and also just a little too much, for me in all ... but then I'm not even a huge rose fan, and I have to admit this is amazing. This great big barnstorming rose bomb that it is. Projection on me seemed gigantic (but that might be because it made me feel like a 6ft glamazon) and longevity was a trouper.

Maison Lancome does rose fragrances beautifully and Roses Berberanza is an example of this. The weird opening of this fragrance almost put me off but thankfully that only lasts for about 10 minutes on me. Unfortunately, I do get the musty, feet smell that others have talked about, which fades away once this scent settled into my skin and becomes a thick, syrupy sweet, jammy and boozy rose. Rose, honey, vanilla woody and nutty notes are the most evident to my nose but also a hint spiciness, possibly from the ginger, Longevity is excellent 8 - 10 hrs and sillage is strong. It gets compared with Parfait de Roses from the same line as they are both sweet, gourmand roses but they are quite different. I prefer Parfait de Roses to Roses Berberanza but Roses Berberanza is a beautiful rose that I look forward to enjoying in the cooler weather. Edit: in the dry down it smells similar to Oud Ambroisie to me.

Sweet candy rose; plasticy-smooth and mellow with a toasted, nutty undertone. It's playful and innocent, but with a hint of a boozy and mature edge underneath. To me this is a fragrance in two layers. The top layer smells like a kid’s birthday party in early autumn. Girls in their party clothes playing with rose-shortcake scented plastic toys, and bowls of melted vanilla ice cream with strawberry syrup abandoned on every surface. Meanwhile, the bottom layer smells like late evening once the party’s over; the adults in the den decompressing, sipping fingers of good rum, and bad coffee spiked with nutty liqueur, nibbling at leftover cake, chuckling over silly party pictures and minor mishaps of the day.

I am 100% in the camp that aren't at all on board with the pistachio note in this one! It really does translate as smelly feet on me, which is definitely different, but not something I was looking for in a fragrance :) For the first 15 minutes I was full of regret about buying this.... but after the pistachio note has subsided, this transforms into a stunning scent. It's a boozy, warm, syrupy, softly spicy modern rose. It is absolutely gorgeous. I'm rating this a like, if it wasn't for the bordering on unbearable opening, it would be a love for sure. Longevity and sillage are impressive.

Very lovely. In a way you can kind of see a connection in the style of perfumery with this perfumer (Julien Rasquinet); a similar type of 'vibe' (roughly!) as The Moon. It's a 'full' type of scent; but it's not too HEAVY - if that makes sense. Anyways, as to the scent itself - it smells like grenadine syrup! You know back in the 90's and early 00's when you'd go get a snow cone made at the mall or something, and they put the grenadine syrup on it? That. Awesome. Love it. Apparently it's discontinued too? :/

I love this so much. It's really beautiful! The pistachio, mixed with the hazelnut and orange, and rose on top of it all is very yummy in my opinion. Different! Although, at first, it reminds me of Good Girl, which I also love. Totally not the same after a few minutes! I was gifted a generous sample by a Fragrantica Friend, I would totally buy a full bottle! You don't need much, it would last a long time... Date night or stay in with your love night. I need this... UPDATE: I have this. ; )

Once you get through the opening, this is an exquisite boozy middle-eastern dessert rose. So decadent and rich! I really get the pistachio nuttiness in here. I do wish the raspberry was dialed back. Sometimes it comes off like hubba-bubba bubblegum- especially in the aforementioned opening. Also I gotta say, I have been sampling a bunch of wimpy fragrances lately so the strong performance of this fragrance delighted me.

This perfume is beautiful yet a bit disappointing for me. İ was deceived by the name and expected some rose dominant fragrance but what i got was a sweet fruity juice. Again, i love it but i was expecting something more rosey. Fruity and nutty notes overpowers the rose notes. İf you like sweet fruits go ahead buy this. Edit: I swear this is Angel's Share.

well definitely louder on me than Parfait Rose...the rose here is bigger, redder - and sillage seems stronger too. Nutty/woody rose indeed - not a particular fan of this interpretation but find it's more unique than Parfait de Roses. If you fancy the pistachio note without rose, I can also recommend trying Laura Mercier Creme de Pistachio.

Alright so I've bought a sample of this perfume eagered to explore the roses scent in it as this is my first time trying roses note. Definitely found it and was trying to enjoy the beauty of it. Unfortunately, it's not my kind of scent. But it's beautiful on its own. Wore it for the half day and I can smell it till night.

This smells like rose jam. Very sweet and feminine. I actually enjoy the crazy opening the most, but then the honey takes over in the drydown and it loses its power

this reminds me so much of Relativemente Rosso! a very berried, honeyed, resinous rum rose.

If Parfait de Roses is a 3.5, this is a solid 5. Reminds me of mulled mine, like feve delicieuse but with rose (hence more feminine). This is a sweet, boozy, jammy, and quite eccentric rose. More suitable for colder days as it's leaning towards dense & heavy. I can't really pick up the nuts... it's covered under a heavy layer of rose + raspberry.

Smells very similar to Roses Vanille with an addied musly element

No. I'm sorry, very sorry, but no. Everything you read about the top is true: feet sweat, brie or roquefort, all of it accurate. After that, a very strong oud note. Maybe with some rose thrown in. Goes on for an hour. (After that I had to scrub it off - or tried to, with cold water, with hot water, with alchohol rub... until gave up and sprayd another scent on top of it and got it fixedenough. I find it very hard to understand what they were trying to achieve. If this was for the Middle-Eastern market, I doubt it would woo a lot of patrons, since the local companies do oriental rose better, for a fraction of the price, e.g. Al Haramain Zuhoor, Swiss Arabian Crystal Rose - I own both and especially Crystal Rose is a far better variation of the theme I suppose Roses Berberanza was aiming to be. Zuhoor is a very clean rose scent, Crystal Rose has more oud in it and actually could be described as a toned down version of Roses Berberanza without the peculiar beginning. I love Lancome as a house, it has produced some of the scents I have loved for years ( Tresor Midnight Rose, O Cote d'azur, Poeme...) but for Roses berberanza... not for me. If the magic happens after the one hour mark, then I missed it. But, chacun son gout, If oud is your thing and you enjoy a different top note, go for it. But do _test first_ as at least for some people (like me), this simply doesn't match the discription and quite honestly doesn't work at all.

Rose with caramel that has burnt. Bitter, acrid and nasty. Lots of saffron and wood. I love Lancome Oud Bouquet and L'Autre Oud. Not this one. If I got a free bottle, I might wear it on occasion. Glad I didn't blind buy because I couldn't find a deal. I really hated the top. As it dries down, it gets more appealing. At first I curled my nose. Still has a little dog kennel in India scent in the middle. In the base/final drydown it smells great like the others they released. Flanker on flanker without calling them a flanker. A derivation on a theme. Since I have the other two, I don't need this. But, make me an offer if it's something you are unloading. I love rose. LOL

I wanted to love this based on the main notes being rose and pistachio. I’ve been on the hunt for the best pistachio fragrances. I will have to keep looking though because something about the way it is blended in this perfume makes the opening very offensive to me. Not pretty or powdery at all. The dry down is pretty sweet and syrupy but for a sirupy middle eastern type rose, I much prefer Nina Ricci L’Extase Rose Absolue for that (also much better longetivity).
