Tubéreuses Castane

Oh my gosh, what an intense and gorgeous fragrance this is--the chestnut note made me get a sudden sense memory of Paris in the autumn and winter. I love this so much more than I would have predicted on the basis of the (sure, OK, pink-bubblegummy) main note. The chestnut note, the caramelized vanilla, the way the tuberose melts into the chestnut and turns it into some kind of stratospherically intense dessert-as-beverage--well, it's more than all right with me. In fact, it's a love! I wouldn't have even known about this if the lovely Etsy decanter hadn't included it as a sample. She seems to know what I will love before I do--an eerie talent, and one I would love to develop myself. I think it's safe to say that if you love tuberose and you love vanilla and sweet wistful nutty melancholic Parisian accords--this is the perfume for you. A pity that it seems pretty hard to find. I noticed that all the Fragrantica links lead to different perfumes by Lancome. Speaking of which, I think I need to revise my possibly unconscious bias against Lancome as a perfume maker (I always liked the skin and makeup products). This is a wonderful powerhouse of a fragrance, and a little goes a long way. I just applied a few drops of the EDP to one wrist, and I can tell that it's projecting at least six feet, and perhaps even filling the room. Magnificent! I think Liz Taylor would have admired this fragrance. Update: I put on Boucheron earlier today, and its loud, pushy tuberose made me want the delicious Tubereuses castanes, which my dear perfume pal Sarah sent me to sample a few months ago. So I put a few drops (a teensy amount is sufficient!) on my naked left wrist, and oh my, it is so, so beautiful, even more beautiful than I remembered. Tubereuses castanes doesn't clash with the residue of the Boucheron drydown, but it outshines it, at least the formulation that I have (and I love that perfume, so this is more of a compliment to the Lancome than a diss of my beloved Boucheron). Superb! But you must love tuberose and chestnut.

I thought I lost my chance to purchase, but it popped up recently on my favourite discount site. I had sampled it years ago and loved it but I didn't pull the trigger fast enough before it was sadly discontinued. Tubereuses Castane smells just as I would have expected it to. It is a nutty tuberose. The chestnut is warm, cozy and almost savory. That savoriness helps temper the sweetness of the tuberose and tonka, though this is still a pretty sweet fragrance. There is a weird sourness that I smell from the cap and on paper, but thankfully it disappears completely when on my skin. If your skin retains that sourness, this my not be for you. The tuberose is sweet and more similar to that in Armani My Way or JPG So Scandal than Gucci Bloom or Armani Rouge Malachite. This is a pretty thick and heavy fragrance that I only wear in cooler weather. I tried it just on my hand when I bought it in the middle of the summer and it was far too heavy and cloying, even with that one spray. Wearing it now in cooler fall, it is beautiful, warm and cozy. It is slightly mature and quite feminine I experienced pretty good performance, but it didn't project as much as I expected when I first applied it. It lasts 8+ hours on skin and even more on clothes. The projection was very strong on initial application, but it settles way down in about an hour. Then it stays well within arms length, but does have a nice trail. The bottles in this line are some of my favourite. They look and feel very high quality. Heavy glass, metallic cap, the beautiful filligree-inspired golden coloured metal panel on the side and front. Everything about the bottle is beautiful. The only down side is the box it comes in. It is pretty uninspired, just a boring cheap white box. I am willing to overlook this since the Maison Lancome line is more moderately priced than some of the other designer private lines. I would rather a beautiful fragrance in a stunning bottle than a fancy box.

I've deleted my original review n am doing another 'cos this is a complicated one. Initially I had a small decant n just liked it, it reminded me a bit of Amarige but more interesting n with a slightly smoky vibe. I layered with rosemary essential oil at one point n that worked really well. Tubereuse Castane grew on me until I decided I had to get a bottle after all as it's quite unique, the chestnut note I haven't smelled in anything else n there's something almost savoury salty about it as well as the big tuberose. The tonka is vanillery. The scent had an almost chewy quality (I've previously only noticed in Valentina Myrrh Assoluto.) I decided loved it n bought a bottle. Since I purchased the damn thing, I came across a review on another site which mentioned this - The buttery quality can flip into actually greasy n then it will make you feel sick. Congratulations to the other reviewer, I now notice this n can't unsmell it. That anyone finds this "astringent", or like pickles as some others have mentioned, bewilders me, as astringent is the opposite of greasy kinda isn't it? I suspect this oily quality is what others have mentioned as stomach turning or nauseating. I'm going to have to leave it alone for a while now n hope my nose forgets about it for a bit then I can maybe enjoy it again next winter. It's certainly been an interesting ride.

Everything I've tried from the Maison Lancôme line has been a winner. I wish I could collect them all, but the steep prices and large bottles keep me from doing so. And that's the only reason why Tubéreuses Castane is not on my wishlist: I love Lavandes Trianon, Roses Berberanza and Oud Bouquet (new version) even more and can't have them all. I know I said this several times and sound like they paid me (I wish), but if you love intense, sweet, well-blended floral gourmands, look into this collection. Tubéreuses Castane smells just like the name sounds. Hypnotic, narcotic tuberose and sweet roasted chestnuts. To be fair I'm not 100% sure if I would have identified the chestnuts on my own, but it's really a very nutty fragrance, awakening memories of roasted nuts with a crunchy sugar crust you get on funfairs and Christmas markets. The tuberose is creamy and clean, but not too light in this, which is a nice contrast to the gourmand notes. I just love it when tuberose notes are intense and narcotic, but not powdery and musty. This kind of tuberose smells so feminine and sexy to me. This is a really sweet fragrance that opens up loudly and doesn't change that much. The floral and gourmand notes just melt together to a very harmonic blend on my skin. The longevity is as great as with everything from this line.

I'm not a tuberose fan, but in this combo I do like it. This is not a unisex parfume in my opinion. Very feminine and warm like a cashmere sweater. I could not imagine this on a man. It is very concentrated and I higly advise only ONE spary. If you spray 2 times stricly spray in the air and walk through. It will last all day. After I bought the bottle and took it home the first time I used it I was so disappointed and felt like this is a overwhelming sweet parfume. I realised after that I sprayed it too many times like I have to do with many of my other parfumes... I gave it one more go and fell in love with it once again. This is warm, sexy and captivating...also sweet, but in a mature way. I tryed to buy tuberose parfume so many times, but they just reminded me always of an old lady... this is different it is just enough tuberose for me and most of all it is roasted chestnuts. A bit of honey and amber in the background. A warm floral overall with a nutty feel to it. Beautiful bottle and really high quality of fragrance. I love that it is very very long lasting and it has a strong silage. Scarves adf swaters smell for weeks.

Gorgeous stuff with an attitude overload. This is the strangest behaving perfume I have. Not overly tuberosy; if I had to guess what the composition is, I'd never guess tuberose. Chestnuts do come out quite a bit, but this one goes on quite make-up like, at least for me. Reminds me of those lipstick perfumes, powder removed, and it is very similar to L’Ange Noir by Givenchy. Has absolutely nothing to do with Girl of Now which I also own. Girl of Now is very much in the vein of today's designer, or rather, mall perfumes, while Tubereuses Castane exudes class and elegance. I do get the oily aspect of it, I chose to call it buttery rather than oily, but it is not a turn off for me. It pushes TC straight into niche category, but I see how it could be difficult to wear for some. It is the heaviest perfume I have ever experienced, and I do mean that literally. Due to butteriness, it feels like it weighs a ton, but the lipstick aspect of it makes it rather enjoyable. I am thrilled to have this, finally. I would have had it sooner but I was listening to those who claimed it was a dupe for Girl of Now. It most surely is not!

Tubereuses Castane was the fragrance I was least interested in from the Maison Lancome line because tuberose is a note that I'm not sure I like very much and it gives me a headache when it is too strong, but in combination with other florals which tone it down, I don't mind it. TC opens pleasantly, the tuberose very quickly comes to the forefront of the composition followed closely by the slightly smoky chestnuts which then goes on to become the most dominant note. Eventually, after it has been on the skin for about 20 minutes, the tuberose chills out, blends in with the nutty notes and tonka turning this into a slightly powdery, warm, cozy scent. It brings to mind a rustic log cabin warmed by a fire, with chestnuts roasting. Honestly, I found this one to be quite challenging the first two times I tried it however, it is one that has grown on me. It is certainly one of the more unique scents from Maison Lancome and surprisingly I now like it, a lot and I give it extra points for having changed my mind about it.

I finally sourced a bottle in November 2022...it arrived in our summer which was more like spring. Wet, humid and uninspiring (in my country at least). Then the scent smelt lovely but too heavy. Revisiting in winter I’m really experiencing it very differently. Wow! The florals feel like a big fat vintage Ylang Ylang (which I love!) backed up with tuberose which adds a creamy soapy edge/texture. The chestnut has the same feel to the nuts in Roses Berberanza which I also loved (I didn’t get any funk with that fragrance) and along with a toasted gourmand note, it also feels woody/hay-like. This scent feels rich and dense but I don’t perceive any fatty notes or oiliness here. Not overly sweet and nothing that makes me feel nauseous. It is glorious. A big scent with a nod to vintage, at least on my skin. Stunning. To me this is unisex with a very slight lean into femme territory.

This fragrance has made me appreciate tuberose. I had a difficult time with this note previously, it always came across as too heavy and dense for me. Im learning that how I experience it depends greatly on what notes it appears with. For instance, it does not work well on my skin with too many other white florals at play. My partner has commented on a it smelling fruity upon opening. Had to do some research to find that is likely tonka that lends this slight fruitiness to the opening. This fragrance is blended so elegantly. I find it intoxicating, sexy even. A bit comforting as well. I own four from this line and this is my favourite so far. I get 10 solid hours from 6 sprays.

Tuberose is the star of this fragrance and it sure is a lush experience. The opulent quality verges on too much when it's not cold enough, the scent itself being very rich and fatty like a whipped cream or Mont Blanc dessert with oodles of marrons glacés and tuberose nougat. The weight of the scent is like the colour of the juice in the bottle. Overall, the scent is very unique. I do not own anything in my rather large collection that smells like this. It's heavy but maintains the signature elegance and femininity found in all Maison Lancome creations. I'll have to stop now before I complain about Lancome discontinuing the best creations in this line.

This is pleasant but strong, overwhelmingly so to the point that if you spray too much it'll start smelling like urine. Another exhibit of how strong it is: I have a habit of spraying perfume fresh out of the shower and take a sniff occasionally throughout the evening to test them out, and the next morning after I'd tested this the water in the cup I had on my desk tasted of this scent. No, I didn't spray it anywhere near my desk - the smell had diffused into the water gradually and only after night's sleep when I didn't drink from the cup did I notice the change thereafter. Out of all my perfumes this is the only one that does this.

This is a delicious interpretation of tuberose. Very boozy. Like a chestnut and vanilla liquor added to a creamy and voluptuous tuberose. Smoky, rich, balsamic it really is a tuberose for fall and winter months. For me this is the perfect tuberose for the holiday season and I would love wearing this during that time. A beautiful fragrance for anyone who loves the smell of chestnuts, vanilla and tuberose. I agree with @rene saller review 100%. I can't add anything more. She nailed it. Going on my want shelf. My husband flipped for this. His exact words were delicious.

Finally! A fragrance with roasted chestnut as it's main note, that is wonderfully balanced with tuberose. This is a combination that I don't see often, and it's LOVE at first sniff! It's heavy in the tonka, which makes it syrupy, rich, boozy....however, the floral notes keep it from being a straight up food scent. The chestnut notes disappear in the dry down and it leaves a creamy, sweet, tonka-infused tuberose skin scent. I LOVE this--I think it's underrated and should be celebrated as much as Oud Bouquet. 10/10

This discontinued hidden gem of the line is one of my favorites. It is unique to my collection and I have not smelled anything similar. It's blended well...nice balance of nuttiness and tuberose. I can smell the chestnuts distinctly. Beautiful scent trail. Not mass appealing, but those who love creamy, nutty perfumes with some floral will give you compliments. Longevity for me is about 10-12 hours. It's a heavy hitter, so I use 2-3 sprays max. I don't understand why this is discontinued. Total love for me.

I was really holding on this one after reading those reviews. Now, when I finally got it I feel so happy. It is not too strong, but it is definitely long lasting. It is create a creamy bubble around you. Cozy and creamy. Somehow I feel special by wearing it. probably it is now on the second place out of 10 bottles from this line. Not too much of either notes. Just soft, cozy and well balanced to me.

I do not agree with the other reviewers. I’m my books it isn’t an overly strong fragrance, or winter only, right now it’s august and I’m wearing it to a family gathering and it’s perfect, sweet floral, borderline gourmand. Has a very sophisticated and lady like vibe to it. i blind bought this as I love chestnut and I love tubereuse so it was a no brainer

Delicious! I did not think/want to try it until my sister picked it up and sprayed it on. All that day I kept getting these yummy whiffs and only late at night I realized is Tubéreuses Castane's fault... I did not expect this combo to work for some reason, hence why I did not want to try it on, but it works and it is a delight!

I respect everyone's experience of this fragrance, but on me this is beautifully sexy in a very sophisticated way. Warm chestnut over everything and the tuberose below it, as a hum. Every fragrance I own with tuberose it dominates, but not here. Here it stays beautifully second. I wish it didn't cost almost 200 euros...

No it is not similar to Tom Ford orchid soleil! TF is very heavy tubereuse and cream,strong enough, Tubereuses castane is milky nutty,it is warm, sensual very sweet and very very cosy, while TF, on me, is cold and i prefer this for summer. A great perfume for winter and Christmas, is Tubereuses Castane !!

Does anyone know if there is a strong ressemblance with Orchid Soleil ? I just saw Tubereuses Castane on ebay at a fair price but I already have the TF, so if they are really alike, I won't buy it.

I have this and really enjoy it! It kind of reminds me of a more refined Woman by Ralph Lauren. The tuberose is similar.

I was not impressed by how Tubéreuses Castane smells on the paper: a cloying, excessively creamy vanilla-tonka bean-tuberose trio, unabashedly gourmand and one-dimensional. However, the opening on my skin features a surprisingly vivid roasted chestnut accord. During the first half hour, I can smell a warm, smoky woodiness, recalling the shell of roasted chestnut without sounding the alarm of acrid woody amber aromachemicals, and an untuous nuttiness evoking the chestnut cream on a Mont Blanc dessert. Moreover, the green camphor of tuberose creeps silently around the edge like poisonous ivy. Combined with the nuttiness, it sometimes even veers towards bitter almond/cyanide, hinting at a potential danger beneath this alluring delicacy. Sadly, what I smell on as the fragrance dries down about 1 hour later, is the true face of Tubéreuses Castane on my skin. As the fragrance dries down, the nutty and woody smoky aspects disappear, and the greasy vanilla-tonka-tuberose trio takes over. There's no indole, nor green earthiness of tuberose to keep a natural sensation. Instead, the tuberose is more like a buttery, vague floral facet to complement the thick, creamy sweet vanilla. Tubéreuses Castane remains as such from then on, and it's not dissimilar to other gourmand tuberose such as Isabey Lys Noir and Tom Ford Orchid Soleil. The sillage is heavy to moderate during 3 hours, it then stays closer to skin. I got an 8-hour longevity. Iinteresting and evocative as its roasted chestnut accord in the opening may be, the generic dry down of Tubéreuses Castane is a let down for me. The lack of nuance and the heavy, sweet creaminess make it feel like a tedious drag on my skin. Nevertheless, Having said that, I think the opening is worth a try to those who are looking for a realistic nutty accord, and I suspect that Tubéreuses Castane might be more appealing to those who enjoy creamy gourmand fragrances, rather than to those who enjoy a more floral, natural tuberose.

This is a slightly nutty, floral vanilla in a base of white musk with a thickness and richness that makes it very luxurious to wear. The nutty aspect feels like vetiver and tonka, it is juxtaposed with the tuberose to cut the sweetness of the core accord. The perfume announces itself with dark green floral and slightly lemony fresh note which recalls vintage perfumes, especially of the chypre sort from the 50s and 60s. This accompanies the tuberose itself, which is an extremely sheer, bubblegum version of tuberose (banana ylang?) providing a hint of green soapiness to keep it fresh. This hangs like a sheer stocking over the rest of the (chestnut-ish?) confection. Thy drydown is vetiver and tonka to my nose, referencing the oakmoss/Amber of the chypre. Despite Tania Sanchez’ review, which calls this an oversexed suburban housewife of a perfume, and despite some of the reviews below, this feels like quite a sophisticated combination for a floral vanilla perfume, many of which lack the heft and opulence of this version, and the clever use of a tuberose which ought to be too much but here somehow is just right. Although it’s not a classic chypre, it seems to reference the chypre structure with more gourmand ingredients. It’s clever and thoughtful. I usually don’t like these kind of gourmand vanilla perfumes but this one is cozy and comfortable and smart. It’s a pared down boudoir scent, that goes just as well with cashmere and pearls as lingerie and stockings. Very nice.

Lovely! Was afraid to buy this cuz of the tuberose but it's so subtle. This is a nutty, creamy, toasty fragrance. It's sweet on initial spray and that's sweetness reminded me of the honey in Oud Ambroisie of the same Maison Lancome line. There is not honey and this is not gourmand however but it is a fresh take on tuberose and nuts on my skin. So very interesting. I always tend to buy perfumes in the summer so from season to season, my experiences are very different...not negative, just different. I can tell the sweetness of the tonka will pop up in colder weather and I cannot wait. I do not think this is appropriate for warm weather (will cause nausea)...lol but I am not the perfume & weather police! I love that every fragrance from this line is very different. It's my fave! 7/10 overall for me. Addition: for the first 2 mins after spraying there is a foodieness, not gourmand and I guess it's the chestnuts. I dont love that. But after the 2 mins the tuberose starts to pop out, it's subtle but it's creamy and fresh not bubblegumy (thankfully). The middle is floral slightly sweet. Dry down is a lovely warm sweet tuberose. It may be basic for some but I love this as a tuberose hater. Cannot wait to try this in the faĺl/winter.

A beautiful discontinued Maison Lancome. I believe it's quite hard to come by this perfume now, except from collectors. It is a strong gourmand fragrance. Warm and inviting. The chestnut comes into play and the tuberose is not so strong. I was expecting some sort of an indolic tuberose, but this is not it. Someone said that it smells like Girl of Now from Elie Saab. I'd have to disagree here. It's true that both fragrances have sweet nutty notes, but this one is done in a much more sophisticated way. I cannot stand girl of now while I quite like this one. If you found Girl of now too infantile and in your face sweet, you should try this one.

Tuberause Castane is a strange one... Smelled from the bottle or from paper it doesn't make much sense. Sprayed on skin... well again it depends of how you sprayed; too close with a heavy hand and you get a sweet cloying scent, lightly and from some distance and its sweetness is tamed by woods and flowers... That's what I smell: a slightly sweet, nutty-woody tuberause different but beautiful. It is long lasting with moderate silage and worth at least a try

I loved the tuberose and chestnut here, but there’s a weird synthetic accord that keeps popping up every so often to drown out everything else. It reminds me of Pop Rocks or mashed-up orange and red Flinstones Chewable Vitamins. Its presence mars what would otherwise be a beautiful cool weather scent.

This is a gourmand Lancôme style, but very potent and luxurious. Everything smells very natural. I am positively surprised. It has the best Chestnut note i’ve ever smelled in a fragrance. Try it if the usual gourmands feel too synthetic to you, or if you’re a fan of nutty scents. Final note:9/10

Really lovely, decadent nutty floral.

This is a turbo-charged tuberose perfume. The pretty top note of sugary tuberose hums overtop an engine of musk, not unlike Le Labo’s Another 13. I initially enjoyed the marriage of white florals with the unexpected synthetic, slightly metallic musk, but it is absolutely relentless. Tuberose Castane will be great for those who prioritize performance in their perfumes. Myself, I’d rather wear Hiram Green’s Moon Bloom, which shows tuberose in her fresh and green aspects.

This is weird. The combination of tuberose and chestnut don't really work. I had high hopes for this one, but it's a no for me.

I have become quite a big fan of the Maison Lancôme line, but unfortunately this one is the first blind buy disaster from the collection. I love white florals in general, and Tuberose is usually always a winner for me, so I thought it was a relatively safe bet to buy this one.... The chestnut note is extremely strong in this, especially for the first 20 minutes or so. It does calm down slightly after that, and the Tuberose starts to come through. Unfortunately, even the floral aspect of this fragrance is a disaster on me! It smells very astringent (almost vinegary) and really quite synthetic and cheap. I'm assuming this one just doesn't agree with my chemistry at all, because as can be seen by other reviewers, it's a winner for them. Longevity and sillage are impressive, which is great if the scent works for you :)

I have quite a bit of the Maison Lancome line so I was expecting to love this. I DON'T! Upon initial impact on my skin it smelled like a poorly blended concoction of another Lancome fragrance that I also am not fond of... La Vie Est Belle. Yes, La Vie Est Belle with a humongous helping of some sort of salty buttery element that made the fragrance smell oily.. in a really bad way... like perhaps salted caramel gone wrong. Made me nauseous. In terms of performance... it clings to the skin like the old boyfriend you want nothing to do with but they still keep calling years later. I mean even after you tell them you're happily married!😳😩 I literally washed my arm off 3 times to get this off me. Just a NO for me.

OMG...so, on my skin and to my nose, this fragrance is pretty vile. Tuberose overload! The opening is super strong boozy floral with a slightly acrid, astringent (tonka) undercurrent. Smells screechy medicinal, like walking into a physician's office back in the day. The dry down is slightly better but full-on tuberose. Some chestnut, I suppose... I RARELY do this because sizable decants are costly. But this is a total scrubber. Disappointed.

This is my least favorite in the Maison's line. I like the name and the notes. It smells like shoe-polish on my skin :-( ===== The follow up after a month : I was experimenting with this perfume cold weather ,warm weather ,rainy days ... but It smells really bad to my nose and on my skin. That bad that I needed to wash it off because it did turn my stomach. I really did try to figure it out but it seems it's just not for me

I am glad that before giving in to a fomo and grabbing a full bottle, I decided to order a sample first. It smells.... interesting. Something very soapy with sweetish undertones. Like an old person. Like a bar of gall soap. I had such high hopes for this one, but ugh. No. Also, it reminds me of Apres L'Ondee by Guerlain, when it reaches the drydown.

It’s more “Castane” (chestnuts) than Tuberose, that’s for sure. I don’t mind a little nuttiness, but I really don’t like how overbearing this chestnut note is. I vastly prefer the pistachio/rose combo in Roses Berberanza to this chestnut/tuberose. It takes the tuberose forever to become anything more than an undercurrent, and it’s pretty subtle, overall. The only thing that becomes more prominent over time is the sweetness level; it amps up toward the end. I will say that it has remarkable sillage and longevity; it also sort of made my head twinge.

There is still a little left to finish my decant. I confess that I do not want the moment to come because I have fallen in love with this fragrance and I know that we are probably going to part forever. What a treat! I find it edible, cozy, smoky, so creamy that it is almost lactonic ... I has quite an evolution from a start in which nuts stand out, being recognizable the chestnut above all, a middle phase in which tuberose makes an appearance in a precious and different form, in the company of those already candied chestnuts, to a final phase in which a vanilla with spicy aroma rounds off the fragrance. It has a moderate but noticeable trail on my skin and it lasts for about 8 hours. It is a sweet and conforting sin that I have certainly loved to commit. I will reserve a little longer my last drops... Smell 9.5 / 10 Duration 8/10 Sillage 8/10 Quality / price 7.5 / 10 Versatility 7/10 Packaging 10/10 Would I buy again? I didn't buy it

I cannot tell you how much my heart is broken. With this being discontinued, I searched high and low to have a way to try this before buying a full bottle. I found someone selling half a bottle so I jumped on it. Oh my gosh, I think I despise chestnut. What is this weird offputting smell? I’m not sure what I think about this being labeled as a gourmand. It smells like something is old and dank. I’m going to put her away for a little bit and try to put her on when I don’t have another scent near it to compare it with. Maybe it’s just me right now and I can make an edit later. But for now, I am so disappointed. Edit: I keep trying to love this one, but someone nailed it on the head down below. It smells like Flintstone’s children’s vitamins. It’s that vitamin smell. Yuck.

Opening is a little boozy with a barley, cereal vibe like JM Scarlett Poppy Intense or LOF Made in Heaven, but smoother than the above two. The tuberose peeks through with bubblegum and menthol facets but the overall texture is very buttery and gourmand without it being too much. I'm not getting a lot of throw from the few sprays I have on my forearm, but it's also a summer evening. Very curious to see how this one smells in cooler weather. March 2025 update: this fragrance lasts 24+ hours with projection, which ended up being too much for me. The mentholated aspects of the tuberose disappear long before then and the fragrance flattens out to a very sweet nutty amber with no depth. So if you like sweet nutty scents, this could really work for you.

This is so comforting. I finally got this and it’s such a pretty gourmand tuberose. It’s just the right amount of Tuberose for me since I love heavier fragrances that last. That’s the first thing you notice instantly. Then comes in this nutty and slightly creamy chestnut..like a chestnut vanilla. As it dries down you can also smell the sweetness of the Tonka. I love it. This is another sweet gourmand in the Maison Lancome line worth having and I love it just as much as Lavandes Trianon for it's floral creaminess. A must try and buy if you love Tuberose for sure.

Tubereuses Castane is nice, but not exceptional or groundbreaking. It opens with a buttery accord. It’s not roasted chestnut to my nose, as I was hoping. Regardless, it’s a savoury opening ; a yummy gourmand welcome to the fragrance. Unfortunately this only lasts a few minutes. What follows is tuberose with sweet tonka, and I am reminded of a tamer and less expensive version of Armani’s Malachite Rouge (which feels like a dangerous tiger as opposed to a domestic kitty that is the Lancome). Average sillage and longevity, contrary to its expensive price.

This is an overly sweetened nuts, could be a marron glacé with more doses of glace, tonka bean, vanilla, and extreme doses of frosting. The base MAYBE tuberose but covered quite well with sugary almost cloying notes. Meh, mostly too cloying for my taste. Edit (20 Oct 2018) I have visited this blend again today and on plotter it's quite mild sweetened and not cloying as I thought it were before! I cant seem to detect the tuberose still but it's more like a milky marron glace with Rose's rather than floral. It's cute for a lancom fragrance.

Dear Zoebo1403, i am reviewing exactly that mixture i smelled. I tested it a few times, not quite sure, what i am smelling. Regarding various skin chemistry, it was all, i perceived, and this was cloying, suffocating, ulpleasant scent. I must confess- i love toberoses, and have many scents with this note, but this one was no go, at least fpr me. And Prada contains very nice tuberose/ ylang combo. I can only review, what i am smelling, your perception may be other kind, and this is very good. At least i bought Lavandes Trianon.

The name of this fragrance is quite misleading, because tuberose is pushed back and overwhelmed by foodie notes. Although classified as a ‘floral’, this is actually a gourmand fragrance. The notes of chestnut and tonka bean dominate, paired with milky-buttery notes, possibly some other ‘nutty’ components (almond, hazelnut and whatnot), sitting on an ambery base. The tuberose used in this fragrance is of the sweet-bubblegummy variety. All in all, it’s an interesting and long-lasting fragrance, but definitely not my cup of tea.

I received mine today and it was a blind buy, and let me tell just don’t repeat my mistake. I’m stuck in between like and don’t like. At first spray you can smell almost vintagy tuberous and then hazelnut like note comes in and finally it dries down to castane. It’s not unpleasant but it’s not to die for gorgeous. May be I’m not into nutty or castane? Could be. I love my Tuberous and I love gourmands. So for that reason I decided to splurge.

Tubéreuses Castane is such a beautiful, fabulous fever dream of a cocktail... an elderflower-forward sparking sweet Riesling with a musky, caramelized chunk of amber floating in the wine, along with a luxuriant dollop of rich chestnut puree and a generous dash of spicy ginger liqueur. It's heady and hypnotic and a little weird but it's not too cerebral or precious about it and lordy be, it is a friggin glamazon. Hot dang y'all.
