Dragon Oud

When I saw this in the new releases, I immediately got hyped. This was obviously made for me. Being from Thailand, it got here (Canada) surprisingly fast and thankfully intact (and super well packaged). Let's talk about presentation first. What a beautiful box! It looked like it would contain medieval treasures (and it kind of did). Besides the striking bottle, which is quite heavy and unique, the box also had a collectible metal coin in the effigy of the fragrance, which I find is a really cool idea. Now, for the fragrance itself. Dragon Oud opens up surprisingly fresh! I definitely get a lot of caraway, with its minty sort of mentholated vibe. I think the juniper adds to that as well. It then goes a little stingy and spicy (a mix of the spices) and then smoky. In the late drydown you get more smoke and earthiness (a cave-like vibe), backed by a super nice addictive note which I think is the chocolate that may be playing the role of patchouli here. Very addictive and very unique, try to sample if you can but it honestly was a blind buy for me and I am not disappointed in the least! Performance-wise, it projects quite well, it filled my room and wafted out through the apartment and someone else picked up on it. It also lasts for hours. My second test is at an easy 8-ish hours of picking it up while moving and it then stays on skin for a long time (I could smell it when I showered the next morning). This is one for the cold season, definitely but I wouldn't be surprised if it worked out between the seasons (except in summer) because I feel it comes out surprisingly fresh thanks to some of the opening notes. This may become my favorite oud fragrance. I find it surprisingly easy to wear, but then I am biased so take that with a grain of salt. Nonetheless, what a fantastic calling card for this new house which does things quite differently and I love that. I'm eager to explore the two other releases from their initial collection. If the quality is this good and they keep it up, this house will be freaking great. Well done, Landcaster.

“If Daemon Targaryen just dismounted Caraxes and distilled himself into a fragrance... this would be it.” There’s something almost mythical about Dragon Oud — like stepping into a dimly lit temple where the air is thick with smoke, spice, and something quietly dangerous stalks you in the shadows. The opening strikes fast and sharp. Juniper berry flickers like cold gin against the heat of black pepper, while petitgrain adds a green bitterness that feels almost electric. It’s bright... but only for a moment. Very quickly, the scent begins to smoulder. The heart is where things turn hypnotic. Swirls of incense and frankincense rise like sacred smoke, wrapped in cardamom, cinnamon, and nutmeg. It leans unmistakably into that resinous, almost chaotic territory, reminding me of Amouage’s Interlude Man but softened — more wearable, less confrontational. Think ritual, not riot. Then comes the descent. The base is deep, textured, and rich in colour. Very high quality ingredients, including oud are present as you can see from the colour of the juice but not overpowering, more polished and slightly animalic, melting into creamy tonka and a dusting of cocoa that lingers like shards of 90% dark chocolate. Oakmoss and vetiver ground everything, adding an earthy, almost vintage elegance, while caraway gives a faint aromatic twist that keeps things intriguing. It’s here that the fragrance reveals its duality. It’s dark, spicy, and sexy. I imagine it is what Daemon Targaryen (as portrayed by sexy Matt Smith) would smell like after dismounting Caraxes in House Of The Dragon — smoky, spiced, lethal... and undeniably magnetic. Performance is formidable — like dragon fire, it leaves a smouldering trail of spice, incense, and warm woods, radiating a dark, hypnotic intensity. Two spritzes will last you all day and all night. Dragon Oud is POTENT stuff!

If you love oud, incense, and darker oriental fragrances, this one could be a great choice. If you prefer light and fresh scents, however, it may feel a bit too intense.

Daaaaarn, this is strong, but truly enjoyable if you like smoky and woody scents. Do not risk spraying more than two sprays, I really mean it! I am usually an oversprayer because perfumes barely last on me, but overspraying would cause BIOHAZARD in this case. The first 15-20 minutes are super smoky (the bonfire kind of smoke), but the slightly fruity oud and incense-y notes come into play afterwards and their behavior on my very dry skin is magical. It is a bit pricey, but you really don't need more than one bottle in your entire lifetime, because this is no day-to-day perfume at all and you need to use it with caution, preferably for special occasions: goth events, open air metal shows etc. Performance? BEAST MODE!

Dragon Oud is one of the most powerful scents I've ever smelled. The initial burst of spice nearly burns your nose it's so fiery. This is my first real, non synthetic oud and the depth and warmth it gives is incredible. The first 15 minutes is intense but as it warms on your skin, the leathery facts of the oud come out and it sweetens. I thought this would be solely a masculine scent but it's very unisex. Between the performance and the imagery of the bottle and fun collectible coin, this is like the perfect gift for anyone into medieval fantasy. It tells a story and makes you feel like a powerful dragon when you wear it.

The first thing that caught my attention was the packaging: high‐quality materials, an elegant bottle design that immediately conveys the premium level of the product. From the first notes, the fragrance stands out favorably compared to other manufacturers. By the way, I’m the first person in Russia to receive this Dragon Oud fragrance as a birthday gift personally from the CEO of Landcaster. It would be great if Landcasterworld made official sales in the Russian Federation with this Dragon Oud fragrance. P.S. This fragrance is an olfactory treat! A must have if you are an oud lover, there's something visceral about this fragrance. It starts cold spicy green, then you get the warm aromatic heart uplifted by the smoky frankincense that almost reminds you of that fiery dragon breath, leaving a smouldering trail in the base which is rich creamy and slightly animalic for me. The star of the show is the Thai Oud, it has this addictive sweetness to it. Overall I give it a 9.5/10 Go easy on the sprays because this one is beast mode.

Spicy, animalic, resinous, and ancient. Dragon Oud has an almost smoky quality that reminds me of a fire that was just put out—blackened wood, cooling embers, and smoke still hanging in the air. The oud feels wild and alive beneath the dark resins and spices. It makes me think of an ancient dragon sleeping among the ashes, quiet and still, just waiting to wake.

This house has great attention to detail from the packaging unboxing to the bottle design. Opens with a fresh spiciness. This fragrance is powerful and the name is so fitting from the smokiness of the incense to the boldness from the oud. It’s one of the best smelling oud fragrances I’ve put my nose on.

It feels energetic at first, almost like a gust of cool air before the deeper elements emerge. As the fragrance develops, the heart becomes warmer and more resinous. Cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg, and frankincense create a rich, incense-like atmosphere that feels both comforting and mysterious. The spices are well balanced—noticeable but not overwhelming. In the drydown, the composition turns darker and more textured. Oud and olibanum provide a smoky, woody backbone, while oakmoss and vetiver add an earthy depth. What makes it interesting is the subtle touch of cocoa and tonka bean, which introduce a faint gourmand warmth that softens the darker notes. Overall, Dragon Oud feels elegant and slightly mysterious—an aromatic spicy oud with a resinous backbone and a gentle sweetness in the base. Dragon Oud is an excellent oud perfume that uses real oud, blended together with a great supporting cast. To me, it smells green - like this is what a dragon's lair would smell like. Picture this dragon's lair, if you will... As you walk inside, its damp, dark, and green - there's some frankincense burning as you enter it. You get a whiff of a beautiful oud, that never dissipates. There's more greenness, from cardamom and juniper (giving a pine feel); the pine makes you feel like you're outdoors (as does the oakmoss, to a lesser extent), but you are indoors in this mysterious, magical place. You should be wary of being inside such a dangerous place, but you feel safe, and the scent that lingers is addictive and you dont want to leave this lair.

Och how I wish it were more accessible for EU customers. I have heard that it's absolutely amazing, but for EU customers, buying this fragrance means customs + taxes on top of its rather high price. I can only hope that in the future, Landcaster will make it more accessible for people from the EU.
