Amazing

we live in a weird era. Everyone and their cousins feel a need to have a perfume bottle with their name on. Lang Lang made no (sad) exception. Image, marketing, appearance... and he's actually a young talented pianist who is having his fame period here, especially as he had a few shows. I would be more interested in knowing if he actually wear any perfume at all and which one. So here we have a celeb scent. That said the expensive concoction sold at Sephora is not a bad one and it doesn't lack a fresh elegance. It starts quite anonymous with a strong blast of zesty citrus, no red peppers, but it really reminded me of something less modern. It's not so new, which is not a blame in my book. Then it gets tamed by a springful of flowers which are not immediately identifiable. I hoped for a fragrant faint osmanthus, but here we have three big ones: gardenia, jasmine and tuberose in a poised, intriguing, modern yet vaguely Asian style. I like this part because it reminds me of soft Asian atmosphere from a movie set in Chinese early 900 environment or even that romantic hue from old pictures of ladies with their typical clothes. Quite charming. It keeps this stage for a long time even when the soft musked patchouli gets in. I'm not sure if I can detect oliban. Anyway this stage is gentle and gives no harsh plastic woody edge as it happened with so many perfumes in the latest years. It projects nicely around me and works well with my chemistry. Duration is quite longlasting. This is modern perfume with all its limits, but I like the aromatic gentleness that blink an eye to classics. I guess that sprayed a little more liberally it can build an aura around a lady of any age and smelling good. A nice work, only too expensive for what it is. 55 euro for 30 ml is not a good price.

Not the same perfume, not the same alchemy, only a similar imprint and vibe I find in Fidji. The same feeling and concept. Like crystal clear water flowing and singing beneath the surface. Amazing is relatively new, but it recalls the mood of past decades. This is why I like it, it is clean, dry, luminous and bright, it becomes one with the skin in enigmatic way. It is also exclusive, what’s certain is that I’m the only one wearing it, and what a honor and pleasure! I'm glad I found it at Sephora as well as I'm sorry I didn't get the second and last bottle available at a good price.
