Eclat d'Arpege

I am so jealous when I read the other reviews that detect fruit, especially mandarin, apricot and peaches. I detect predominantly fresh green, like a fresh cut flower stem mixed with a tiny, TINY bit of flower (I apologize that I cannot detect what flowers. I have no idea what any specific flower smells like, maybe because I am not really a botanic person. I don't know what most flowers look like, not to mention what they smell like. But what I DO know is if I like a perfume or not. So I leave the deciphering of special notes to the more sophisticated and botanically educated noses!) So the flower notes come through more and more as time goes by, but I totally miss out on the fruity aspect. Nothing fruity here for me, and I so love juicy fruity frags. Bummer. Still nice for a hot day, it is fresh and peppy, but reading the other reviews I think on my skin it doesn't quite unfold its full potential. Oh, oh, it's coming, it's coming. Finally I can detect the fresh mandarin note. Clearly there, and the green harshness disappeared. LOVELY! Well, better late than never. I will have to change my like to love, now!

I have the original Arpege parfum, and while this doesn't smell a whole lot like it, it retains the peachiness of the original, and frankly, it smells better than most of the fruity junk that saturates today's market. It's a very original floral fruity, nothing else like it on the market. Haven't smelled a floral fruity this beautiful since Fleur d'Interdit. If you love peach and lilac, you should definitely give this one a chance. It's fresh and clean and perfect for summer. If it weren't December right now, I'd own it already!

my all time fave perfume!!!can consume at least 5 bottles in a year..i get compliments that i smell really good even from strangers whenver im wearing this...

Wow, what a pleasant perfume! I don't know how but the mandarin is strong on my skin! And I know that there shouldn't be any mandarin here :) Magic.

Lanvin's Eclat d'Arpege has been a pleasant and inexpensive blind buy which holds up surprisingly well and long on my skin, for the type of fragrance this is. I'd call it a louder soft fragrance; I get the same feel from this as I do from fragrances like JLo's Glow, a "clean" type of feel that in this case I think comes from the green tea, interesting in combination with the lilac and peony. I'm thankful that the peony here is more subdued, however the lilac is almost overwhelming in the opening: not a bad thing if you like that. I do like this perfume much better after a couple of hours have gone by, as it holds up quite well for a good 6 or so hours, so performance is better than average for the type.

An extremely well balanced floral with only a notional relationship to the family matriarch (Arpege). Peony, lilac and petit grain combined smell like a very soft lily. While neither green tea or peach blossom can be picked out of the scent they make the juice brighter and more springlike. Extremely likable but not quite lovable. If you're familiar with Lys by Marina de Bourbon you'll notice a definite resemblance. This is easy to find on sale or clearance and worth picking up if you're looking for a well-made lily/lilac scent.

So after having a horrible week I decided it's time for a shoping therapy. Today I purchased on a whim a mini of Eclat d'Arpege and I am very glad I did. I tested this perfume not long ago, and I wasn't inpressed at all. But today after trying about 15 different scents,this caught my attention. I like the wisteria, it has a soothing effect on me and the composition is so refreshing for summer. Green, floral and fresh - a keeper!

Lanvin Eclat d' Arpege is impossible to overspray. Very refreshing but sillage is poor and lasting power is moderate at best. Pleasant floral fruity green tea fragrance. A little fizzy too! I don't know, it may be an odd description but it reminds me of Sprite. Failsafe Summer fragrance --good for work and for enclosed spaces since it is generally inoffensive and invigorating.

This doesn't smell anything like Arpège. It's very fresh and floral, with a slight juicy sweetness to it that is perhaps the peach blossom or the peony. It's not like anything else in my fragrance wardrobe but I can see myself wearing it as a spring and summer daytime fragrance. There's something zesty and joyful to it that doesn't rely on green or citrus notes.

Extremely similar to DG Light Blue for women. I got this in a gift set with lotion for $14. I'm very happy with the quality. It does have weak performance but great unisex office or casual scent. I get fresh cut apple and citrus. Excellent alternative to DGLB. 7.5/10

This one starts nice and fresh, green tea, peony, some other unidentifiable for my nose flowers but sadly I get a fruity note in the background that makes it kinda meh for me. An office/shopping perfume.

It's certainly floral but the green notes are fairly strong as well. It's like I can smell the whole bush the flowers are not, leaves and stems included.

It's a gorgeous scent, delicate and perfectly well made.I'd love to wear this one for summer. Can't tell why, but it makes me think of bubbles.

Lovely feminine light floral scents. Delicate Lilac and tea with fresh fruits. Beautiful! Perfect for daytime casual or for work.

1/16/2012: Found this on clearance maybe 2 yrs. ago @ TJMaxx for $10 (EdP), vaguely recogizing the L'anvin name. Beautiful bottle! Nauseating frag imho. Tossed it. Thank goodness it quickly led me to the "real" gem of L'anvin... Arpege (original), which has become a staple of my existance & one rare, true joy de vivre.

I don't think this scent likes me..the combination of lilac and peach is perhaps too fresh for me.. a freebie tester included in a recent purchase eau de parfum 1.5 ml

I am so curious about this scent. I have the bottle Eclat d'Arpege launched in 2002 and I love it. But this limited edition version seems to be a bit more green with petit grain in the top, as Fragrantica says. I hope this is true, because I ordered a FB and expect to experience a significant difference. Edit: no difference really. And IF, it's not worth talk about. I hoped it was indeed more green as Fragrantica says. That's why I bought it last week in the first place. I don't understand the urge from Lanvin to design different looks for their Eclat bottles without designing different Eclats-perfumes. There's a new one launched in 2014, by the name d'Arty. OMG, beware. Please don't remove this review again. And don't get me wrong. I LIKE Eclat. I am wearing my new FB, delivered by the postman a few hours ago, right now. I am enjoying it as I always do. It's just the fact that Lanvin brings it on the market again and again as if things have been changed. Even Fragrantica tells us. Well, they didn't. Only on the outside. And that freaks me out.

This is hands down one of my all time favorite scents. I agree with what others are saying about lasting power. This alone does not last long on my skin. I have more luck when I layer with shower gel and lotion. Don't let the staying power drive you away!! This is an absolutely gorgeous scent. Perfect for spring and summer. I usually switch to something warmer when fall starts to hit but this is one of my favs for warm weather!!! I also buy the purse spray bottles from Nordstrom's and fill it with this perfume so I can respray when it wears down and becomes unnoticeable. BTW...I'm 38. I bought this with very high hopes.It is a nice scent but very weak.I could not even smell it on my wrist and it got sprayed on some part of my shirt where I could smell it a little bit. Its fresh clean soft but has very little peony which seems to be hidden under citrus and musk after some time.As many of the reviewers said its true it lies in the same family as Chanel Chance Eu Tendre and DG Light Blue with citrus fresh vibe but this one is very very weak. I love chanel chance Tendre which has more vibrancy and sillage. It can be a choice for job interviews where you want something inoffensive as its too light to be even noticeable. Would suggest to spray little bit on fabric as it will fade away on skin very soon.

Just a little review to share that the opening of Eclat d'Arpege reminds me almost exactly of Victoria's Secret BOMBSHELL as well as Body Fantasies ROMANCE & DREAMS, Zara ORCHID, and Incanto SHINE. Interestingly however, the dry down of Eclat d'Arpege reminds me of a lighter version of Bath and Body Works COUNTRY CHIC. So if you can imagine a perfume scent that opens like Victoria's Secret BOMBSHELL and dries down to a lighter version of COUNTRY CHIC, that is what Eclat d'Arpege smells like to me. While the opening is bright, fruity, and bold, the perfume dries down to a soft skin scent within the first hour. Sillage and projection are faint and sit close to the skin.

This is one of my favourite summer fragrances, that despite the peachy note. The dry down is not peachy, it is floral and woody, with florals dominating. Now standing in my summer perfume shelf as it is fall here in SA.I am so surprised to hear that some find longevity poor. On me, I thought longevity was poor. That until I had to assist a colleague with something. That at two in the afternoon. She asked what I was wearing and complimented me. She said it was wonderful but soft. She is extremely sensitive to very strong fragrances.i have Arpege and though this is nothing like it, it is a wonderful fragrance for hot summer days in South Africa. Well done Lanvin!

I find it hard to understand why it's called 'Arpege', because there is virtually nothing similar about this and the original Arpege! It's kind of misleading really. Eclat d'Arpege is a lovely gentle light floral-it's violet/wisteria/lilac-all very smooth and subtle notes, no harsh white florals. There is a fruit note as well which I get more as blackcurrent than peach, and that's about all there is. It's a non-complicated, simple, innocent, light hearted fragrance that feels very uplifting and happy. It's pretty and summery. Silage and longevity are very poor, but just keep re-applying! It really cheered me up on a rainy grey Monday afternoon.

This perfume is super popular in Japan and Korea but is virtually unknown here in the US. It's a shame because while it's light and perhaps not striking, it's very pleasant and still manages to be unique. I think this is one of the few fragrances with Wisteria in it, which might be why it's so popular in East Asia, where wisterias are held in high regard. There's even a Wisteria Festival in Japan, and their beauty is a big part of Spring, and have been frequently portrayed in art and poetry for hundreds of years. Anyway, this perfume is very feminine, Spring-like, refreshing without going into "cleaning products" territory. Lovely.

Honestly, I just bought this perfume 'cause I was intrigued by its lilac-coloured juice. I find this scent clean and flowery. First spritz is really pleasant but the smell faded rather quickly. Can be worn during daytime or on warmer weather. So excited to use it during the first week, but I can say I'm so over it now, it is currently sharing space with other half-used perfumes and toiletries in my cupboard. Overall, it's a pleasant, inoffensive scent but lacks character as most everyday perfumes do.

When I first tried this years ago, I definitely got the light fruity scent. Now, at 33, I put this on today and I SWEAR it smelled just like Ralph Lauren "Glamourous" on me. Smooth, warm, sexy, a hint of fruit but more like fruit in an orchard, not cloying sweetened fruit. I will be wearing this to work to see what kind of reaction it gets, but I honestly don't care... This makes me feel like that self-sufficient, sophisticated woman calling her own shots in life. I love it.

My husband only has good comments when I wear Lanvin Eclat. Other perfumes are too strong for him. I also got many compliments from my colleagues and this is my signature perfume in summer. The only issue is it doesn't last long.

Uplifting Lilac scent, with an undertone of violet. A bit heady at first...after about an hour dries down to a soft skin scent. Pretty amethyst-colored juice, and easy to find in stores like Ross/TJMaxx, etc.

Nothing to do with the original Arpege and rather unoriginal - a pleasant but ultimately conventional fruity floral which smells like a thousand others.

Nice enough scent but on me it smells exactly like the scent of peace by bond no 9. I got a sample and wont be testing it out again.

this smells exactly the same as the regular eclat d arpège. same notes listed. why review it?
