Eclat d’Arpège

I can't believe it took me so long to write my first review on Fragrantica, but I really wanted this amazing scent to be the first scent I' ll review and I never seemed to be ready to review it... How can I find the right words to describe perfection? Because, this is what Eclat d'Arpege is for me, perfection in a bottle! I really can't describe how this amazing scent makes me feel when I wear it, I feel elegant, I feel confident and I feel beautiful. And from the many scents I own this is the one who receives the most compliments, each time I wear it. I clearly remember the day I discovered this beauty...It was about 9 years ago and I was searching online for perfume suggestions for my wedding day. I wanted something perfect for a bride, not too sweet, not too fresh, not to strong, not too weak, a scent that makes me feel beautiful and innocent, but strong enough to make a statement ..I saw this scent among the suggestions and felt inlove with the gorgeous bottle ( purple is my favorite color) and the unique name. According to the description and the notes, it seemed like the scent I was looking for. I ordered it blind and couldn't wait for it to be delivered. I had sky high expectations and I opened the bottle with trembling hands, and when I inhaled this scent I knew it crystal clear, This Is The One! And on my wedding day I was the luckiest woman alive, I married the perfect man and wore the perfect scent! Today, almost a decade later and two beautiful children richer, I'm still madly inlove with both, my beloved husband and my amazing Eclat d'Arpege! Although my collection is much larger now and it grows by the day, I'm sure as I can be that my beautiful Eclat d'Arpege will forever remain my signature and will stay on the top of my collection! Not a scent in this world will be able to take it's place in my heart and in my wardrobe, not only because it reminds me of my wedding day, but because it's perfect for every season and occasion, for every mood and every moment of the day. I really hope this stunning scent will never be discontinued, but if it does I'll collect as many bottles as I can get my hands on, because I never want to be without it, not one single day!

Lanvin’s Eclat d’Arpege was one of my first perfumes that I have been gifted when I have first gotten into perfume. It was advertised to feature a beautiful lilac note and I always loved lilacs. It’s still my most favourite flower! It was fairly affordable back then as it is now. I wore it through my high school years and I have very fond memories of it. Nostalgia... I absolutely adore all the notes listed in this composition not just the lilac. It’s a fresh flower scent with green touches. Wisteria, peonies, lilac, osmanthus, peach blossoms is smoothly blended with green tea, petit grain,musk and cedar. I would say amber it’s not present on my skin at all. For me, Eclat d’Arpege is more of a fresh, delicate, spring flowers bouquet with a strong, white, clean musky base. Ultra feminine, young and flirty! It’s a good everyday perfume for spring and summer season, nothing too special or strong, but really pretty and pleasant smelling in my opinion. As long as one is interested in flowers, I can’t possibly see anyone being offended or disliking it. I will admit that today, after having and testing soo many fragrances, this is not as good as I thought back in my high school days it is! But because of my history with Eclat (and nostalgia), I will probably always have a bottle in my collection to revisit from time to time.. Performance wise, again, nothing impressive. It’s mainly a floral blend without featuring any heavy, deep, rich notes. On clothes I get about five to six hours wear if I’m overspraying, on skin half of that. Sillage is intimate, unless I’m getting a hug, nobody is going to notice it! I know back in the days the performance was better, never a beast though, so I assume that throughout the twenty years of life, it was reformulated and watered down like most of the 2000’s classics have been..

for men: ignore every other review, this is the one you want to read. I am a dude who dislikes 'girly', feminine leaning scents, but I purchased this on my own free will because of the tea note. on first spray out of the box I thought it smelled pretty similar to the green notes of something from Marc Jacobs, but I'm also a fragrance newbie, so that could've just been me. didnt scream "girly," but definitely didn't imagine a guy wearing this as his daily driver. First day on wearing this I overspray because in my head I'm thinking, "oh, this shit is light. it's not gonna last after an hour of working." wrong. worked a full shift and was stopped by multiple people commenting on it. I even had a guy my age say "not in a gay way, but whatever cologne you're wearing is really good." (cologne! didnt even consider it feminine enough to say perfume or shampoo or whatever.) That was several months ago. I let this sit after wearing it a few times. now that very perfume-y, extremely floral forward initial spray goes away pretty much immediately and dries down into a borderline tangy light green smell I can't describe, but it's universally pleasing in a way you can't fault or call plain. felt like this scent has taught me not to trust when people on this site say something is feminine or not. maybe it's the testosterone changing the scent, i dont know. but i knew i had to leave a comment when a lady pulled my arm just to smell it without even asking. this juice is good. pro tip: get the bigger bottle size. the small ones have terrible sprays (mine crapped out on me after barely using, but you get what you pay for), and youll be running out of this one quickly.

I usually seek out the sweet scents, so I did a lot of research in order to hone in on this floral candidate. This was a blind buy for me and it turns out I love it. It smells classy & elegant. This is how I described it to my sistahs: It’s made in France- Ooh fancy. It literally smells like a clean older lady, but not that obnoxious old lady strong perfume. It smells like some kind of freshly cut, long-stem flower. I think someone classy but youngish with an old soul would wear it - like Anne Hathaway would like it. It’s a scent for delulu girls like me on days that I am a wanna-be forest fairy in a flowy dress. Or for you = the plant-caring , bread-baking, sustainable fashion wearing, kind soul. I perceive it as being zesty, limey, but not a straight citrus, because it’s also floral & very feminine. I see why people describe it as being in the realm of Dolce & Gabana, Light Blue. It is because it is lemoney with some kind soft kind of ..uhhh powderiness/cloudiness to it. I would put it in the same category as Sara Jessica Parker’s, Lovely. The type of scent that is; Pretty, delicate, petal rich, & a tad like it could be a handcrafted soap.

I absolutely love this fragrance! I'm usually a gourmand girly, but I wanted something fresh, clean and a tiny bit more elegant (in a youthful way, not in a "classy lady" kind of way lol) for when I'm wearing a floral dress in the spring/summer, and this has been my go to for those occasions this spring. It has a distinctly clean, "purple" vibe to it, so I couldn't see myself wearing this with any colours other than slightly cooler shades of blues, purples and white. (Yes, I'm one of those people who colour code their perfumes to their clothes haha). Even though I think it's better suited to a cooler colour pallet, I wouldn't call this a "cold" fragrance.... the amber gives it some warmth in the dry down - imagine the sun coming out in the early morning and warming up the dew on the flowers - it's warm, but there's a cool breeze, if that makes sense..... I definitely notice the cedar in the dry down, but thankfully it's not sharp at all and works well with the flowers, tea and musk. I noticed a couple of reviews saying they don't get any lilac from this fragrance - I personally get a lot of it, from the opening to the dry down. Perhaps the fact that I only ever spray perfume on my clothes and not on my skin makes the difference.

I can't get away from this fragrance. Beleive me I have tried lol. I just come back to it again and again because it is so... let's say "friendly", easy going, subtle and non-headache and nausea inducing. It is definitely a wear to work fragrance. It won't bother your allergie prone co-workers and give respiratory distress to your patients (if you are a dental hygienist, nurse, Md, etc). It is ancien in perfum years (born in 2002), but still very relevant. You can layer it to shake things up a bit, and it is affordable. It is you fairy godmother of a perfum. There are some dupe outhere, but funny thing is, they are more expensive than the real thing. You can check "Azzaro Mademoiselle"" which is a "copie conforme". Light Blue (2001) from D&G is her big sister: they love each other and go hand in hand to the beach everyday. I definitely recommend it. Oh, I know few will follow: like I said, it is an old school scent. It is not sweet per se, but light and refreshing in a sea of sickening vanilla, caramel sweatness. Don't get me wrong, I love me some sweet fragrance too! I am just saying, Éclat d'Arpege is not that. Anyway, I recommend it and hope they never stop making it.

Ok, now with this scent never could I imagined there would be a person who genuinely dislikes it ! Looking at the comments i see i was wrong:)) To me this scent is like an ice cube melting on skin so refreshing it is. It’s blended so well that i couldn’t ever picked up exactly what flowers it reminded me of. Now looking at the pyramid i get it. I do get greenness and peony and lilac, the peony and lilac are not sweet or cloying. Its more like freshly cut flowers with stems under melting ice. I’m getting the comparison with DG Light Blue, due to its freshness, but the scents itself are not similar at all. DG is obviously mainly citrusy scent with white flowers, while Arpege is - flowery and no citruses at all. I would compare it more to Versace Bright Crystal or Chanel Chance eau fraiche and eau tendre, though not being exactly like that too. To me it’s such an inoffensive refreshing likeable scent. For the ones who loves freshies like Chanel Chance line, Bright Crystal, DG Light Blue etc it will be a secure blind buy imo. 9/10 for a creation from this family scents for me

I received this yesterday in the mail, after seeing it on sale via Rue La La. I'd worn it maybe 10 years or more before, and the small bottle I have has already "turned"; I keep some perfumes for purely nostalgic reasons. I couldn't remember what it used to smell like, since it'd been a while since I last wore it, but as soon as I sprayed it, old memories came flooding back, and I remembered why I loved it so much. I'm not one to recognize this note or that, but I know what I like, and I'm so glad that I was able to get the large EDP size for such a great price. The longevity is absolutely there, as I wore it to bed last night and can still smell it 10+ hrs. later. This is, like someone else commented previously, an everyday scent, and I mean a daytime scent. This is a safe office scent, not a beast that turns heads. I can see colleagues and close friends calling this someone's "signature". This is the perfect time of year to wear this: not too hot yet. It brings to mind walks in the park, laughing in the sunshine. A happy, comforting scent.

nobody's mentioned it but this perfume reminds me of chanel chance eau tendre SO much. like they smell like sister fragrances on my skin. tbh the reviews here are mixed but this is one of the most beautiful perfumes i've ever smelled. it's so delicate and light, and well blended. the formulation reminds me a lot of chanel, with that white musky base and slightly citrusy florals that you can't really pick out? but smell gorgeous. it's a bit less citrusy than eau tendre however. this scent isn't heavy in the slightest, will probably disappear in a couple hours on most people, but i love it. i'm not sure how people are smelling this as a bit masculine or slightly unisex, this is so so girly to me. i'm a chronic green fragrance hater but this isn't sickly the way a lot of green and aquatic fragrances can smell. it's perfect for hot weather and won't cloy at all. 10/10 love!!! so glad lanvin perfumes are so cheap, falling in love with chance eau tendre really hurt my wallet..

Absolutely beautiful, a personal favourite and one of the few fragrances I will always repurchase (until it is inevitably discontinued). A sparkling, ethereal, unique scent. It has a wonderful green tea and lilac opening before revealing a peony and hyacinth dry drown. I don’t get any fruity notes really but it honestly doesn’t need them. Hyacinth is one of my favourite notes and Eclat d’Arpège has it in abundance. This is the kind of fragrance I would imagine a fairytale pixie queen to wear, it projects light and positivity. It is not the biggest projector and the silage could be greater, but sometimes you don’t want or need a show stopper. This is intimate, mystical and has the element of air at its heart. As a precocious child I used to wear this everyday in elementary school (yes, my parents did purchase it for me 🤦🏼♀️) and now, many years later as a tired mom of two I continue to wear it. Just maybe not as frequently as my collection is much bigger and varied now.

Pastel Lilac Watercolor in a bottle!🪻🎨🖌️🫧🍵 It smells of freshly cut lilacs with long light green stems in a transparent vase full of water,, on a table w a cup of tepid green tea in a European room w a fancy bathtub inside the room by the window, full of soapy bubbles...and the view from the window is of a garden pond full of waterlilies,, there's a light cloudiness around me of unique sheer almost watercoloresque purple florals like hyacinths, wisteria, lilacs and waterlilies ...kinda feels like a visit to Monet's garden in Giverny! Ethereal scent for when i don't want a typical girlie floral yet i do want to enjoy light watery, delicately soapy, unique lilac/purple florals w hints of slightly green notes from stems & tea,, longevity is around 6 hours on me A blue jeans-white tee or as an Indian, a Jaipuri kurti-white palazzo pants, jhumkis and a tote bag kinda frag💜💚

I love this perfume, I can never get enough of smelling it. It's fresh, but also a bit "powdery" in a way? (I don't know how to say it, but basically it isn't only fresh, but a bit "deep" too) At first, it smells fresh, green and very like lilac. Then the peaches and tea appear and in the base, you can smell lilac, peony and some musk. I usually don't like musk in perfumes, it's too heavy, but in this perfume it's composed really well and it definitely isn't suffocating. It just smells exactly like the color it is, light violet. It also somehow smells calming. And even though it isn't extremely strong (but it's not weak either too), it lasts really long, both on skin and on clothes. On my wrists I could still smell it after two days and on clothes, I can still smell it after a week. It's the perfect smell for summer. Also very good price.

Eclat d'Arpege is a wonderful springtime scent with prominent fruity, floral, and green notes. I detect the lilac and peony immediately upon spraying it, creating a distinct feminine feel. Once it dries down, the green/herbal and musky notes rise to the surface - and make the scent more unisex in my opinion. Perfect for a sporty wear. PROS: Eclat D'Arpege lasts pretty long and leaves a shimmery sheen on skin. It smells like a time capsule back to the early 2000s. I remember a lot of perfumes had a similar feel to them back then. CONS: The perfume's name may cause confusion for customers due to other, similarly named perfumes within the Lanvin line. Do not buy this through Notino, others have experienced issues going through them. The scent may feel antiquated instead of nostalgic for some.

fresh, upbeat, gorgeous purple flower bouquet for spring. it s inoffensive, perfect for work or day to day wear, as it s quite cheap i initially thought it disappeared after half and hour, but, no, this baby sits close to the skin and last for hours on end! of course, it s a delicate and ethereal fragrance but it clings to hair and clothes like a true, gingerly beast. i love spraying this on my kids and smelling them at night after 12h. it s perfect for young ladies 🥰💞 kinda has that issey miyake vibe going on i actually prefer this to chanel chance that i wore daily (just because of how safe ot was) because this is a lilac scent and that is more of a rosey scent

Eclat d’Arpège by Lanvin was released in 2002. Dolce & Gabbana’s Light Blue was released in 2001. The notes listed show these fragrances only share the notes of cedar, musk, and amber, yet the olfactory outcome is nearly identical. Is Eclat d’Arpège a slightly more floral dupe of D&G’s Light Blue? My nose thinks so! Owning them both is redundant. Eclat d’Arpège is an eau de parfum which performs better than D&G’s Light Blue, an eau de toilette. Eclat d’Arpège is also significantly less expensive. If you like D&G’s Light Blue, but want to save some coin while experiencing better sillage and longevity, Eclat d’Arpège is definitely the preferred choice.

The longevity is really weak, but it smells so good. I had to reapply it all the time. It also doesn’t have a good projection. It’s really light and weak but smells really good. I hope they will make a stronger version of this or a longer sillage and projection of this. I might not order again because it’s like a waste of money when others can’t even smell it. This smells like the dry down of Paradiso inferno pink. I hope they will produce that perfume again. But maybe it’s just my body chemistry. The perfume really does not last long. Even if you spray this like 12 times, it will not project but it will not hurt your nose. It’s a skin scent.

is this what fairies smell like? The queen of white/green floral perfumes. If I was a tiny fairy in a magical forest Id steal the aroma of these flowers and spread it with some pixie dust as I fly by LOL. Ive gone through 3 bottles. Ive always been in love with it and will never get tired of it and Ill wear it till I die. Peony and osmanthus are my most beloved flowers and I love musk and amber as well as any lavender flower out there. I spray it all over my body and my hair before I go to bed after shower, and I sleep like a queen haha. When I smell it on other women(usually much older than me) I smile and think "she's one of us" :p

Wore it today for the first time ever. Found this perfume after looking for something similar to Dali Little Kiss, which has sadly been discontinued. And while it's nothing like Little Kiss...I'm in love! It's the embodiment of that first real day of spring when the flowers are all nearly in bloom, the air is light, you've had your windows open all day and have just put away your winter coats. The sillage is weak, it's scented-lotion-level sillage, perhaps it would last longer applied over an unscented lotion. However, with this type of scent, a stronger formulation would ruin it, I think. Overall recommend.

Now THIS is a smell. This is a very elegant perfume that does not smell synthetic whatsoever, I only wish it was stronger so more people around me could smell it. The lilac is the most obvious note through and through, and it carries gracefully throughout your wear like a ballet performance. The bottle is actually really visually perfect for this perfume, which I do not say often about any fragrances I have. It's really just a fantastically pleasant scent all around, perhaps even the mascot for fantastically pleasant scents. There's literally just no going wrong with this no matter what.

Is it subtle? Yes. But it lasts on my skin all day. It is what I wear when I want to smell pretty and clean, but like I don’t have a perfume on. Another reviewer used the term ‘watery freshness’ and that is what I get along with a sheer peony and lilac. This is in my top 3 favorite summer fragrances. It is what I wished Delina La rose and Bond No 9 Gold Coast were like, but then dried down too sweet and then spicy or salty (respectively). If you are accustomed to beast mode fragrances, this might not be enough for you. But if you let your nose rest and give it a try, you might love it!

I love a green scent and I love a tea note (username checks out). This is a winner for me. The green tea note is very noticeable for me. It works exceptionally well with the lilacs and wisteria. The harmony is exquisite. If fragrances were weather phenomena, this would be crepuscular rays. If a song was a scent, this would be The Lakes by Taylor Swift. In fact, I do associate it with water. Like a creek in a quiet forest. Over time, the 'purple' turns more 'green', which I recognise is an odd sentence. It makes complete sense once you try Eclat d’Arpège by Lanvin on your skin.

It’s an amazing scent. Floral, green, and fresh. Perfect for rainy spring days. It smells so natural, like lilac flowers in the rain. Super lovely and pleasant. Not groundbreaking at all, but very elegant in its simplicity. When I bought it in winter, it felt too watery, almost non-existent, a bit flat and quite quiet. I was a little disappointed. But in spring, it really came to life, and now I can fully appreciate its beauty. For me it's a quite green rainy-cold fresh lilac watercolour scent. I haven’t worn it in summer yet, but it’s definitely a perfect choice for spring.

Nice light scent, bit shampoo-y. Smells like apples to me. Also reminds me a bit of the green apple (be delicious) from DKNY. So if you like that one, you'll like this too. For me it was a blind buy, even though I'm not really into florals. Turned out very well since I like the scent. It gives a bit of a nostalgic vibe. IMO this is a safe blind buy for everyone, even if you're not into florals because the perfume isn't floral heavy and overall is a very light perfume. On me, longevity is not the best but given the price of this perfume I can forgive that. 8/10

This is one of my go-to summer fragrances; I enjoy wearing this and Chanel No. 5, even though they are women-targeted perfumes. I like how this makes me feel when I'm wearing it. It's very fresh and clean, somewhat synthetic-smelling, but that doesn't really bother me. This made me feel calm and happy the first time I smelt it. The longevity isn't that good, around 4-5 hours; luckily, it's inexpensive, so I don't mind re-spraying from time to time. It also doesn't project much, but I'll definitely keep on repurchasing this whenever my bottle runs out.

Love and memories. This is such a nice parfume, tea and lilac and a lot of blossoms. I love it so long and I still will be. The bottle is very cute. I cannot count how many times I bought this parfume, maybe ten times? I do not know why, but when I smell it reminds me Ikea shop (maybe some same scent of air freshener but pleasant). The longevity, my opinion, is better in cold months. But I like it during spring and summer for light and fresh feeling (and I like re-applicate it often). The price is very friendly, in tester variant great.

Truly an ethereal scent. Do you remember in the Tinkerbell movies, when they went to the mainland and all the fairies magically defrosted the city gardens to turn winter into spring? That's what this scent reminds me of; a dormant garden brought to life by spring rain and sunshine. It's not sharp nor too sweet, just the perfect watery floral fragrance I've been looking for. The tea note in this scent is reminiscent of an Elizabeth Arden fragrance with a soft floral touch, which I do not mind at all. Can't wait to wear this next spring!

An exceptional blind buy, particularly if you like Bright Crystal or peony and lilac. Crisp and fresh is how I would describe it, because the opening has a prominent scent of green leaves that gives way to an illuminated floral. It isn't sweet or spicy, hence why I don't feel like calling it "bright" in the same way as other perfumes, and instead may go so far as to call this a bit aquatic, like spring rain. I just love it and was very happy to find a bottle for under $20.

s time passes and the more i wear it...i just love this scent more and more...its just a perfect tea scent. So pretty and fresh and green! It lasts FOREVER too. My beloved..its going to be absolutely perfect for spring. I spray this before work, and I work with dogs, so you know theres a lot of smells..that arent particularly good and very strong...but I come home and I can still smell this beauty on me. This is the one. As an artist I've been looking for an every-day fragrance that blends well with the materials I work with, and this one merges beautifully with the smell of acrylic paint and sawdust, strangely enough. It brings a soft breath of spring to the stale air of my workshop, although it works year round. The freshness of it is quite unique to my nose. A nice day-time complimentary to my beloved Lalique Amethyst.

This is insane popular in China so I bought it to see how it smelled. I just get a blast of green, peony, then fades to musk. I can't smell the lilac at all and they are my favorite flowers 😭 contrary to the "big sister" scent described on xiaohongshu, I think it's more of a younger sister scent (around 18-19ish?). Twentysome years old women might find this a bit childish, or at least I think so (I'm 20).

I think I already rated it but i just love this scent and it was a present from my fiance who i love dearly so I’ll comment again: Such a lovely and juicy freshie! Safe blind buy, not offensive, in the category of D&G light blue and Moschino love love, not long lasting but deffo longer in warm weather, reminds me of a fairy living in the woods, I think it may be a good layering combo with Byredo Sundazed

I love this scent. Fragrantica came up with it as a top pick for me when I entered a few other selections that I love, so I ordered a sample, and they were right on. It's gentle and light, soft and floral, a little sweet. It's not overpowering and it's not going to offend anyone who is bothered by strong scents. It's just lovely. I have a mini now, but will definitely get a larger bottle when I run out.

A very beautiful well put together feminine fragrance. For the price I had to have it as I adore Lilac and Wisteria flowers. Very purple, clean and would suit a 90 year old or equally a 19 year old. Perfectly inoffensive and well balanced. It’s like England in the springtime after the rain! ETA - after wearing this overnight it’s lingering as Glossier you on my pyjamas!

This is the first days of summer for me. Growing up we used to have a big Lilac tree outside our house, and for those first couple of weeks in June, the last days of school before the summer break, I would come home and smell the beautiful Lilacs. That’s what this scent reminds me of. It’s absolutely gorgeous. A perfect scent for spring and summer.

Oh I love this. I also thought it disappeared after an hour, but no, it hangs around for hours as a soft clean musk. Especially on clothes and hair. Not at all like D and G LB to me, which I find miserably synthetic and unwearable. This is a very unique and gentle scent. Maybe even a bit melancholy and unattainable. I get peach blossom and tea.

This is what the Dewdrop Fairy in The Nutcracker would wear. It smells like a crisp, spring morning before the dew has evaporated. I wish it lasted longer. It's a fragrance you need to touch up during the day if you want to smell it for more than 4 hours, but the price is so good that I don't feel bad about reapplying.

I used to put this on everyday in highschool and college. Pretty scent with great top notes but I loved its green, musky drydown on my skin. Really well balanced fragrance with timeless scent. It will be a foolproof blind buy for those who love clean, floral scents that is surprisingly affordable!

Timeless fragrance. Fresh, green and sparkly. Good projection and longevity. All year round scent, I prefer the Sheer version more in summer. But overall it's pleasing, clean, uplifting, you can't go wrong with it. I always have a bottle of it and the Sheer one too.

Soooooo gorgeous oh my god. I have a small decant of this and i need a larger one asap. It's fabulous! it reminds me of being in love. i wish it had better sillage but it's so crisp and womanly. lilac and osmanthus and white musk are a triad composed in heaven

This is the exact perfume my mom wore when I was a kid. Evokes beautiful memories. I was happily surprised they still make it, bought it that same second I saw it. Highly feminine, floral, and so charming. This is how I imagine an angel would smell like.

I like this smell, it'has a great balance: it clearly smelling but not tooo much. It is perfect for spring and for daytime. Anytime I sprayed it, it feels so fresh and pleasant. It's totally ok for blind buy but be aware that it will not last too long.

LibertasInVeritas be careful with Notino. I#ve got some really messed up stuff from there which i believe was a counterfeit product... So maybe if you try this perfume in another place you would be surprised by the difference.

i wasn’t sure what i thought of this at first, but the more i wear it the more i like it, lately it’s all i want to wear. it smells like watery fruity flowers to me. perfect for spring but it’s pretty enough to wear any time
