Lanvin L'Homme

One of the most beautiful spots in Paris is hardly known outside of its neighborhood. The old roman arena still can be seen if you know where to look. Once the scene of violent gladiatorial combat it is set in a small grove of trees on the left bank surrounded by quiet charming homes and apartments. This theater of death is now a place of contemplation and peace. Only the locals go there so imagine my joy in finding this treasure. Small, elegant and very Letetian, Letetian? Yes Lutetia Parisorum or as we know it, Paris has been a city of Gallic elegance and creativity for over two thousand years. When a master nose such as Alberto Morillas puts his creative mind to a unique scent for a world famous fashion and perfume house, sometimes, if you are lucky alchemy strikes like heat lightning and a masterpiece is born. Morillas is an incredible perfumer who over the last thirty years has created some of the most beloved and enduring scents around today, Giorgio Armani Sensi, Givenchy Pi, Bulgari White Tea, and Colonia Intensa by Acqua di Parma are just the tip of his creative iceberg. Here with the house of Lanvin a perfume house most noted for Arpege and My Sin, Monsieur Morillas has indeed created a stunningly remarkable men’s fragrance. It is simply Lanvin L’homme. The intriguing blue-violet juice is held captive in a bottle of such clever and irreverent design. It looks like a hand grenade. But it is no power bomb but rather a light refreshing and always charmingly seductive arrangement of notes. It puts me in mind of a dewy spring morning at the old roman arena in Pairs. Sitting there in this respite of green in the center of the city is so refreshing. Just like Lanvin L’homme it is a very personal and special place. L’homme’s opening is subtle with Neroli, Lavender and Bergamot taking the highroad. Then within moments of this lovely beginning you drop down into the brightly delicious recipe of mint, pepper, a really lush sage and cardamom. The long and sensationally sensuous final fade out of drying down is a slow low stirring of the exotics which I so love, sandalwood, musk, amber and a rich creamy vanilla. Pure and simple, this one is yummy! It projects well and lasts a good 8 hours or so on me. This creative cloud of perfume perfection is a real find for any man who wants something truly special in his collection. Never cloying always masculine and confident Lanvin L’homme is a 90’s winner from one of the masters of the perfume world. It is the perfect scent to wear when you find yourself in a beautiful Roman ruin contemplating the history and beauty of ancient Lutetia of the Parissi. Five + Platinum Stars *****

This truly shares similarites to 212 Men by CH, however, I hold Lanvin L'Homme as a more mature version of 212. It's such a great fragrance mainly because it's tendency to bare different qualities and aspects of different types of fragrance genres. What I mean is that this starts off as an aquatic, very fresh with a tangy feel to it but slowly becomes slightly spicy/powdery and dries down into a fresh, clean, woody, warm, and pleasant scent. The lavender and pomegranate are creamy, the bergamot is so crisp and almost smells fresh. There's a perfect touch of mint and sage that uplifts the fragrance. There's a hint of pepper that gives it a kick, and a subdued vanilla-amber base that isn't at cloying or over the top because the cardamon keeps it well-rounded. It's bliss in a bottle, that only the likes of Albert Morillas can produce. This is top quality stuff for a designer and even more so because it's technically a cheapie here in the states. It's remarkably blended to the point that every note is so balanced and detectable. It's so alluring and sexy! Casual and formal! I love wearing this in a white T-shirt and jeans but I've dressed up for a formal events and it still worked beautifully. It does stay close to the skin but that's what I love most because it's made for those who do not wish to draw attention to themselves, which makes it perfect for the office or class or any close-quarters setting. Don't be fooled though, just because it wears close to the skin doesn't mean that it's longevity is poor! On average wearings I get at least 8+ hours and for the price, you can't beat that!

Not every fragrance has to last 72 hours or take you on an olfactory journey from one end of the world to the other to be good. This is one of the best fragrances that has ever been formulated. Lanvin L'Homme, Hermès Terre d'Hermès, and Burberry Weekend are what started my fragrance journey back in the early 2000s. Lanvin L'Homme is unbelievably smooth from beginning to end. I would call this a relaxing fragrance, because it will keep your mood mellow the entire time you're wearing it. The first spritzes hit you with mild citrus and a touch of spice that will have you smelling yourself immediately and smiling. This fragrance is so perfectly blended that the transitions from opening to mid-tones to the dry-down are very subtle. It's more of your nose picking up the new notes and joining the mix without subtracting the previous notes at all. The projection is moderate, about 2-3 feet. As your skin warms up the projection increases to around 5 feet. Sillage is also moderate, only about 2ft (which again increases as your skin warms up). The performance is decent. 6-8 hours on a warm day. This is one of those rare fragrances that doesn't smell "tired" by the time it hits the dry-down. This fragrance isn't really for formal wear or sportswear. Light-colored Tees, chinos, jeans, light sweaters, loafers... Think "leisure wear" and you have the definition of Lanvin L'Homme. The perfect spring and summer daytime fragrance. I always have a bottle of this in my stock, and I would gladly give up much more expensive fragrances from my collection before I let this one go.

A great scent & very,very wearable for almost any type of man! I see a sporty,open minded and classy kinda man mid 20's till 50's wearing this best. Great for spring/summer and office/casual wearing For me this scent goes in 3 stages : First 2-5 minutes : Fresh/Aquatic/Sharp/Citrus and projects good no lavender yet? Then 5-20 minutes : Spicy and italian freshness like Moschino Uomo? Projection goes down and goes mixing from aqua and spices to soft floral. 20- till lasting : Soft/Gentle/Classy/Creamy/Floral and lavender goes his way now playing accords (Its like a brother of ungaro III in its very drydown. If this masterpiece had more sillage/projection power this scent would be more popular and more expensive for sure! but its a great scent anyway! If you dont want to be "that cologne guy" and smell good all day long try this! you wont be disapointed be sure you spray some more then 2 - 3 sprays for some effect..

I purchased Lanvin L'Homme during my Spring cheapie buying spree last year (aka Spring Frag Fling) because it looked liked an interesting Spring/Summer scent and it was very cheap on the discount market. I gotta admit that I've worn this quite a bit the past two Spring/Summer seasons. To me, Lanvin L'homme is a pretty simple, straight-forward, aromatic freshie that won't knock anyone's socks off. However, that's also part of it's charm because it polished, professional and non-offensive...and makes for a perfect Spring/Summer office fragrance, which I wear when I want to exude an attitude of team player and be approachable to all. This fragrance projects moderately and lasts 5-6 hours on my skin, which is just perfect for this kind of fragrance. I have hundreds of fragrances and I'm getting ever penny out of my $20 purchase. The house of Lanvin has never disappointed me.

Never heard of this Company, and I have been into fragrances for to many years to remember. First I think the bottle is really nice thick glass and heavy the top is plastic but it had a unique closure setup. Now the juice very fresh and starts out with citrus, goes through a lavender/minty/pepper stage and the dry down is soft and a little sweeter, not overly sweet either. This fragrance is full of surprises so I’m going with not to linear. Better for the warmer months and you could wear this in an office, church or any inside gathering anytime of the year. I would use 5 to 7 sprays as it is on the lighter side, but it is in no way offensive. Blind buy worthy? I would say 9 out of 10 would have no issues with it, but there will always be someone who doesn’t agree.

tested this masterpiece today. Never thought of it before I came to Egypt but now that I'm here I was in the search for something suitable for the hot dry desert veather over here. a friend just showed it to me and it totally blew me away!! wow what a bomb!! not only that it's a pur hot weather frag but the freshness and the supenb cleanliness that it makes you feel is more than perfect the super poluted dusty air in Cairo. Definitely a buy for me!!! Edit: I just love the feeling this scent gives me. For best performance try spraying it like I do, in the early early dawn, after a cold shower. The openning and the lavender boosts the feeling of cleanliness and just sets my mood for the rest of the day. Love it!!!

A distillation of its time - and i'm shocked this doesn't get more attention as a classic. the mid-late nights where freshness was king, this to me is indicative of that movement but much more. i get all the notes listed but its less than the sum of its parts - its a white oxford button down, or a black tailored suit. i'm just discovering it now (I remember seeing it duty-free, which automatically made me avoid it) and its like a reset from so many over-complicated niche things that I'm bombarded with all the time. its a sorbet course to cleanse the palette. If I ever wanted to just wear a pair of jeans, a white T and birkenstocks for the rest of my life, I think I'd wear this. its so comfortable.

This is a bone-dry herbal citrus fougere, heavy on the bergamot and the sharp herbal notes. It definitely fits in the 1990's "fresh fragrance" style, but Lanvin L'Homme does not smell dated or synthetic. It is not aquatic. This is a timeless, classic scent that is suitable for guys of any age. It's not particularly daring, but it's so well blended. It's both sharp and smooth, showing its many facets (spicy, woody, herbal, citrus, pepper, etc.) over time. It is completely masculine, without being macho. Longevity and sillage with this scent must depend on the wearer's skin type. Unlike most of the reviewers, I get strong projection and a good 8+ hours from Lanvin L'Homme.

Sophisticated, manly, fresh, light and smooth. The opening is classy, dynamic and soothing shifting between refreshing mandarin, warm spices and woods. The middle notes are spicy; peppermint, cardamon and sage built up by the musky vanilla in the background. The pepper becomes less and less present shifting way to the base that comes through after three to four hours on my skin; a clean vanilla/amber and musk scent added with an elegancy by the sandalwood. I worn this one for years and it brings back a lot of memories. It's the most relaxing and soothing scent in my opinion.

I fell in love with this the moment I opened 1ml sample. I received about 12 samples that day, and Lanvin was the only one that made me go "Wow". Love the opening, but adore the development into a warming sandalwoody dry-down. Lanvin doesn't last that long before becoming a skin scent so I have to apply a fair bit of it to start with, but it is so well priced I dont mind at all. Cant go wrong for £20ish for 100ml. Absolute bargain. My go-to fair weather work fragrance for 3 years now. Love it. Stands head and shoulders above so many other freshies. 5 stars.

A very nice fresh, citrusy scent that is perfect for the summer and spring. Although it is a bit basic, it smells amazing. If you love cheap fresh fragrances this is for you. Let's talk about performance. I get around 5-6 hours with a soft to medium projection. This fragrance works best in the summer and spring mainly. Since it's a bit weak, i recommend 7-9 sprays with this for it to really last longer and project better. Overall: Scent: 9/10 Longevity: 6/10 Projection: 6/10 Lanvin L'homme: 7.5/10 Amazing cheap, fresh fragrance for around $20.

The day they discontinue or reformulate this fragrance I will so disappointed with LANVIN, since I am a fan of this cologne and I am glad it has maintain its scent since I first smelled back at the late 90's when it was launched, and is one of the citrus fragrance I love that can be worn in the winter and summer with no doubt of always being pleasant and drawing complements. I've been replenishing for quite some years, and so far it has remained the same. Update: and I should have known! the nose behind it is Alberto Morillas, no wonder...

For a low price this is a very nice fresh and surprisingly modern scent considering it came on in the 90's. Has a strong lavender that remains with some orange and tad of neroli with a hint of pepper to make it about 10% spicy so that suits me fine. Doesn't seem to change much from first spray except to get slightly musky. It's odd one of my cheapest frags that I get the most compliments with.I also layer it with frags like Nautica Blue and it works. Just wish it lasted a little longer. Scent 8.5 /10 Projection 6/10 Longevity 5/10

So fresh yet so different from everything we se out there in the market. This fragrance really has its own personality. This is not "the guy wearing cologne". It is fresh indeed but has some depth and complexity, which makes it communicate freshness in its own way. I'm not gonna talk about the notes because this has been well pointed in previous reviews. Lanvin L'homme smells elegant, refined, uplifting and classic. It has kind of a chic noble gentleman vibe to it (probably due to the floral accord). Perfect choice for the office!

I blind bought Lanvin L'Homme based on it being compared to CH 212 Men, I don't regret it, but I'm slightly disappointed. L'Homme is a good fragrance, it's clean and sophisticated, longevity is above average and projection is around average which is good for this type of fragrance. But this one can't hold a candle to CH 212 Men, it doesn't even play in the same league, it's a nice safe everyday scent, but if you're looking for a replacement for 212 after the reformulation then this one won't do it, unfortunately.

Beautifully blended aromatic lavender scent which works amazingly well during Spring and Summer months. This was a blind buy which worked its way into regular rotation during this summer. I am very pleased to have this beauty in my collection. For the money this is a must have addition to any wardrobe. It doesn't shout as it doesn't have to, it whispers but still gets noticed. I get 4-6 hours longevity and decent projection. Beautiful stuff!! 8/10

This fragrance is iconic for me! I wore it at my weadding...so, i will never forget this wonderful gem. I bought it one day before my weadding and i was hesitant to use this one or Trussardi ́s. But i decided to use this one, because it was a hot day and this fragrances is better in hot days. It remains a modern and beatiful smell, despite being one of late 90 ́s! Great bottle, great smell, huge memories! Simply love this one!

One of the first fragrances I ever picked up, and I'm so glad to see it hasn't changed much over the years. It's a lovely mix of lavender and lime, it's very soapy. Performance was never outstanding, but at the price being so low it can be sprayed liberally. The late 90's have some real gems, this, Guerlain Coriolan, Davidoff Good life and Escada Casual Friday, what a time. Fresh and uplifting, it can be used at any time.

Well to be honest first of all I found it really difficult to find it here in Karachi Pakistan but BINGO!! It starts off with this very sharp citrus vibe but after 15-20mins it shows what it really is...an amazing amazing fragrance for all the occasions. Not offensive or over powering at all. Scent: 8 Longevity: 6+hrs easily Sillage: moderate (good for office)

Lanvin L'Homme is what squeaky clean smells like. At first you get a burst of aquatics with citrus. It just wakes you up immediately. The dry down is a soft lavender/spicy/minty fragrance that lingers throughout the day. It is perfect for the office since it is not loud. It is also a very nice and clean Spring/Summer daytime fragrance.

I had this in college, and picked up a bottle recently. It smells and performs as it did almost 20 years ago. Some have commented that the reformulation has changed, but to me, it's still performs the same. It's fresh and shower gel like, but I think it's unique in it's own right. Plan on wearing this a lot this summer.

Smells Great! In a way it smells like a merge of (Dolce Gabana light Blue & Prada Luna Rossa) Perfect for office, casual outings, formal events, gym. If you like something fresh aquatic with a well rounded spice in the mix you would definitely like this.

like many said it is a fresh , citrusy semi spicy and and some hintof powdery smell that i really love ...but unfortunaltly , sillage is an issue here , it may last for long but it becomes extremely subtle after an hour or two ...

This is the bottle that I am buying since 10 years. It smells fantastic. The opening and the drydown and everything. Medium projection Very long lasting. You can smell it after 10 hours on your skin. I ll give it a 10/10.

Love this one. a nicely blended, elegant scent that works well during the warmer months. does start out a little alcoholic but dries down nicely. very versatile. so so longevity. a good addition to anyone's wardrobe.

A lovely, fresh and well blended scent. Moderate longevity and silage. This is a soapy and extremely fresh and likable spring and summer perfume. Good stuff.

It's a citrus/orange scent all the way through for me. It's nice though - definitely worth a spritz and great for hot days

I really like Lanvin L`Homme. Perfume very versatile. In my skin has good longevity and smooth silage. Thumbs up.

criminally underrated daily scent

Got a soft spot for Lanvin - Lanvin for Men was one of the first colognes I ever owned as a pimply teenager, and mum used to wear Arpège. Very fond of Arpège pour Homme, generally like Alberto Morillas frags, so when I saw a 50ml bottle of the original version (with “Lanvin” printed vertically, not horizontally) for $20 at a certain online retailer it was a no brainer. The flacon is cool - although the cap comes off it has lever thing, a bit like those beer bottles where the cap can be secured in place - maybe it's so you can keep it in a briefcase or gym bag. The opening is an elegantly crystalline bergamot and neroli, a kind of aromatic citrus. From there a pleasant lavender takes centre stage on a resinous-vanillic-woody backbone. Lanvin L'Homme is a classy lavender-centric fragrance in a traditional style. Reminds me of Mauboussin Homme Lavender has been used in men's fragrances for centuries and in medieval France well-to-do gentlemen used to wear sprigs of dried lavender in a (futile) attempt to conceal the fetid odour of their unwashed, lice-ridden bodies. Lanvin L'Homme is a polite gentleman's all-rounder with an elegant lavender theme, pleasant, inoffensive and versatile enough for any occasion, ideal for the office. Performance is average, longevity is 4-6 hours on my skin, others notice it and it seems to create a discreet trail as you move This would work well in a professional context- worn by a lawyer, doctor, architect, or real estate agent - as more than anything it smells clean, fresh and relaxed. L'Homme is stylish yet discreet and conveys an air of well-groomed sophistication. Classy and unpretentious. Although the association of a fragrance with any particular age group is arbitrary silliness, if I were in my 20s again I would happily wear this as a daytime all-rounder to university or to work - well-groomed, unpretentious, sophistication and excellent value

Lanvin L'Homme is a lovely subtle, elegant, clean, fresh perfume bearing its creator's hallmark of class. Lanvin L'Homme is a soft projector for about three hours before settling down to a skin scent and lasts four and a half hours before gradually fading away between five and seven hours later. The olfactory journey it takes on my skin is as follows: you start with bergamot and mandarin with a hint of mint and neroli. The lavender, pepper and cardomom give it a wide palate and some zest while there is a tiny hint of sandalwood and musk and a herby green note which I presume is the sage. About one and a half hours later most of the citrus has faded leaving the base notes and the green. About two and a half hours in the vanilla shows itself and the scent has changed to a much more mellow vanilla and green. Then around four and half hours later the perfume slowly starts to disappear and it's pretty much gone by seven hours leaving you with just a sense of being clean. Lanvin L'Homme works for all seasons and is an obvious great selection for the office or a formal or semi-formal occasions. It strikes me as more of a day scent than a night one. I think that although it isn't the longest lasting, it still represents pretty good value for money. It's lasted over 20 years in a cut throat business and seen many other hyped and heralded perfumes come and go or be reformulated into a shade of their former selves. It's a nice Mr Reliable that you can always rely on. It doesn't get the credit it deserves.

An excellent daily-wear workhorse fragrance in the clean lavender/citrus genre. Lanvin L'Homme is 100% competent and never falters while delivering what is a quintessential version of the fresh aromatic masculine. Easy to wear, completely inoffensive, and conveying at all times a subject that is alert, approachable and tasteful, this fragrance is easy to overlook due to the abundance of similar fragrances within the genre, and nothing too 'exciting' in the note pyramid. However, here Morillas demonstrates the mastery which makes him renowned among perfumers. L'Homme begins with a powerful lime note of excellent longevity, its acidity cooled by a crisp, unsweetened spearmint. This transitions quickly to an aromatic, upbeat lavender that avoids soapy ostentatious detached formality as its accented with sage and cardamom. The musk in the base possesses just the right degree of warmth, and rather than detached as white musk can sometimes be, or "perfumey" as it often is, it feels human and approachable and blends well with the skin. Although the pyramid suggests sandalwood I get a middle of the road, woody vetiver, neither too grassy or rooty, but right in the center where it should be in this instance. Overall, L'Homme is an expertly composed men's fragrance, and something I think every guy over 21 could use in his wardrobe at one point or another. Thumbs up and highly recommended as a blind buy unless the genre itself is just something you're not into.

The end of the 90' was good for men's perfumery - among others, it gave us Davidoff Good Life & Lanvin L'Homme. I have hard time describing this scent. I don't get the separate notes. I smell this fragrance as a whole. Slightly sweet flowers and woods on light musk. Maybe it should be classified as a floral woody musk (flowers first). It's soft & round. A casual day scent for the break of seasons. You've heard that a milion times before, I know... But! I'm really crazy about this perfume. Reminds me of an autumn romance... The man is a MAN. He is handsome, intelligent, humorous and he smells celestial. He is so affectionate, delicate, his feeling warms you like autumn sun, a true gentleman in love. Flowers, long walks in the afternoons, hugs, waltz under the midnight sky ... and his perfume. Is it how love comes? I can feel all this the milisecond I smell it. And I've never met a man wearing this. Once again, loud applause for Alberto Morillas. p.s. The very drydown reminds me of 212 for men.

I arrived late to the party on this one; I missed out. Lanvin L'Homme. This is definitely not a weak fragrance. The first spray on myself, gave me a headache instantly. Very, very bold and fresh. Instant lavender. I love lavender, this has a ton of it. The musk, Sandalwood and bergamot, along with the sage, play nicely together. For $17, an excellent buy. Understated elegance in a nicely fashioned bottle that reminds me of Coach. Well done, well made. Definitely can be formal or informal. This is the kind of fragrance that makes you wish for springtime. Definitely a keeper for me and I will stock up. If this was sold at Macy's, they'd sell it for probably $75 or more. A lot is in this bottle. As for longevity, it's too early to tell, but so far, the scent kind of reminds me of Lever 2000 Original. As relating to a fragrance, Cerruti Image comes closest for me, except Cerruti with the pear notes & sweetness, is more tamer. Try this one and see. 4.5/5. Well done Lanvin. 👏👏👏

The perfect scent to wear with a clean crisp white shirt in the office - I seem to remember that this is also how it was promoted when it was first launched in 1997 which is when I bought my bottle. It's the olfactory analogue of a whitening toothpaste, and it has the kind of vibe you might expect from a shirt that has been freshly laundered in a modern detergent that has made it so brilliantly white that it even has an ultraviolet glow that might jar with some people. Nonetheless, I think it's more elegant and interesting than Azzaro Chrome imo, and not really an aquatic. Great for any professional, and I especially envisage a sharp-suited estate agent, a doctor, or a dentist wearing it regularly. It's a classic to me and can be found absurdly cheap for fragrance from a well respected French designer house, and so you can spray it liberally without guilt in case of any performance issues.

This is a good alternative to 212...until the drydown. Actually, even before looking at this page, I've already noticed that this is very similar to 212. Up close, there are differences. In the air, very similar. Looking it up here confirmed my first impression. It's also crafted by Alberto Morillas, one of the noses of 212. This was released in 1997 while 212 was in 1999. The dry down is where things get interesting. The profile becomes warm and spicy. Still has that 212 vibe but is now only in the background. The scent totally transformed into another familiar scent. After a few minutes of pondering...Hugo Boss Soul! Looking at Boss Soul's page confirmed the fact that they share quite a few notes. I'm saving my Boss Soul because it is now discontinued and my 50ml is already less than half. This is one of the few bottles in my collection that actually go into stages. I'm impressed 👍
