Modern Princess in Jeans

Starts of smelling a little bit like Kenzo Parfum d’ete so it’s a crisp floral that’s not too sharp but then the benzoin takes over the composition and it starts to smell much sweeter and a bit spicy. It genuinely reminds me of wearing Paco Rabanne Ultraviolet! I know it’s mad but that’s what I’m getting once it settles! Syrupy, spicy, apricotty floral. Imagine Ultraviolet with Hyacinth instead of Violet and that’s what this ends up smelling like on me!

Had a lot of expectations on this, a huge hyacinth lover, and Parfum d'été nostalgic. But the hyacinth is rather a kind of lily-of-the-valley, and the total effect is more a toilet air freshner than a kind of 90's bomb. Very disapointed.

This was a ride. I saw the bottle first and thought how cute. I picked it up and saw the box behind it... denim print, red writing, and “jeans” in it. Lord, the ick of all icks. I know it’s irrational, but I really can’t stand denim. I don’t care how comfy, stylish or whatever it’s supposed to be, I can’t do it. If you ever see me wearing jeans, something’s seriously wrong, call for help, I may be possessed by an alien. And even though there’s obviously no denim note in the scent, my brain made the connection and now it’s locked in. Emotional damage done. Which is such a shame, because the fragrance itself is not bad. But now... I can’t un-smell the jeans. It reminded me of one perfume forum thread about bottle designs and branding that have ruined a fragrance for people. I completely get it. Like, I don’t care how amazing Good Girl might be, I’m not displaying a stiletto. Same with the JPG torso bottles, what on Earth, hard pass. So yeah. Nice scent, nice bottle, wrapped in a denim nightmare. It just wasn’t meant to be.
