Modern Princess

I was surprised to see lanvin modern princess in a local perfume shop because I even didn't know that it exists.it's gorgeous bottle caught my eyes and I sprayed it on my wrist and loved it!simple as that! I knew most perfumistas will see it as another silly fruityfloral nonsense.I won't completely disagree because there's nothing earth shattering here.it reminds me many other perfumes but I can't put my finger on a specific one.I know that it's not unique but this isn't an important case when I like how a perfume smells on my skin When I first sprayed it I knew nothing about it's notes.apple and red curruent are easy to detect in most perfumes but they were not what came to my mind at first sniff.I thought berries,like the berries in viva la juicy noir,or probably raspberry and some other mouth waterlingly delicious fruits,vanilla and a hint of strawberry milkshake! Modern princess is sweet but not heavily sugary or syrupy sweet.it has a little amount of lovely fruity tartness but not that one can consider it a sour scent.it's delicious but in a fruity way.flowers stay light and soft and blend very well with other notes.musk and woody notes are even softer.the vanilla that I can feel in it,isnt too much and overpowering.it's just there to ground slightly tarte fruits in a soft sweet milky cream. though it's a sweet scent,it has some sort of fresh and clean vibe.I believe it's very aptly named.it's definitely modern and suits a pretty,girly princess but not that it's not wearable by an adult lady.it can make a nice daily perfume also good for a girls day out,even a date.it's also wearable year round except winters For me it's not a red scent.it's colorful,like the mix of red and different shades of pink Longevity was acceptable,moderate on my skin but I can't talk about it's sillage yet.it doesn't seem strong but is definitely noticable.I believe it can be a great gift for a young lady or anyone who likes modern fruityflorals. I'm definitely going to buy it if I find a good deal.however I like it and I see it a well done fruity floral,I can't justify to pay more than 40$ for it

I have a recently acquired mini of this that I'm really enjoying. I smelled this when it was released but never tested it although I did like the scent from the bottle. I also found the bottle very pleasing. My interest in this was reawakened by the spate of more recent releases in this vein like the new Dylan Purple and Dolce Peony that I like but can't wear because they are just too strong for my nose. This however is a less synthetic smelling and gentler floral/fruity scent with woods that are greatly toned down. In divergence from the poster below me, I like the base notes here very much. They linger on me as a skin scent for a good few hours too. I also like that this fragrance has a clear evolution on my skin: the top, middle and base are quite distinct from each other. I do think that this is one mini that I will definitely upgrade to a full bottle and probably sooner rather than later. Edit - 8/6/23 - On second thought I'm not going to rush to upgrade this to FB. I still think it's a very pretty scent, although maybe a tiny bit basic. I'm also not sure I really need this in my collection right now. I'll finish the mini and then re-evaluate. Update 6/24 - So I haven't yet finished my mini but I did end up purchasing a 30 ml bottle of this. I really do like it very much. I've smelled quite a few fragrances in this family of scents and so far I've liked Modern Princess the best.

😂Now that I took a shower and removed the putrid stench of the perfume Lou Lou 💩 Poo ...I decided to give this a try. I bought a 4 different perfume variety pack off of EBay this was with Lou Lou Poo. Thankfully this is HEAVENLY. Nothing like Lanvin Arpege ( that frag smells like poo too) This fragrance is smells very lovely and soft. 🍎 The Apple and freesia🌸 are a romantic marriage of fruitful bliss. I do smell a hint of vanilla orchid as it drys down it makes this scent kinda SEXY. I really like this perfect for spring and summer days in the garden sipping blueberry tea in the nature 🌳🦋 wearing a tiara and casting spells of love and enchantment.. 🔮 I got a small 25ml bottle and it came with a shiny metallic pretty little purse to put it in. It's lofty. Very linear and angelic ..very pure. Nothing sharp or bitter. Nothing harsh. This is what I personally look for in a fragrance. I do not like top loud over the too perfumes that create a massive village. I prefer body scents myself. This is perfect. Lanvin win win. 💜

I was looking for a new perfune im usually a gourmand lover so stay away from perfumes like this but..i though i would have a smell as it was new and i was very plesently surprised! It has something in it that makes me keep sniffing it, i wanted something different and i got it, its simple but delicious i have been commented on it already and ive only been wearing it for 1 hour, i dont know about it smelling like other perfumes as when i try out new ones either musk or floral stand out on my skin wich im not a fan of personally so this is nice. First sparay is like a pop of red apple with a gentle floral and as it warms and develops the vanilla just turns everything creamy and soft with that hint oc tartness to keep ot from being sickly sweet. I like it :-)

This was the first perfume I ever properly owned in my early twenties and I loved it with all my heart (hence the username haha). It's a sweet light and fresh floral, I got fruity on initial spray but it would fade away by the dry down to reveal a light feminine delicate floral scent. I couldn't find it for the longest time but I found it recently at a perfume shop and I'm still very fond of it but I have outgrown it a bit. It's a great feminine daytime fragrance though. I don't smell the similarity to Versace Dylan purple, I'd liken it more to Mon Paris by YSL but it is not a dupe of that either. Mon Paris has a similar feel to it sometime after the initial spray but has some different notes in the base that make it a bit more fuller bodied.

I decided to take the plunge after hearing a fragrance content creator I love (skinscentsforfusspots) call this scent out as a amazing red apple scent. She's right on the money like always. Compared to my other red apple perfume of choice (peace,love and juicy couture) this perfume is much cleaner , simpler and focused on the red apple note. I also prefer this to the DKNY be delicous scents excluding fresh blossom and orchard street. This is the type of perfume that just make sense when you want something reliable and easy fruity musk that isn't that soapy; if you like red apple and want that DKNY Be Delicous Fresh Blossom has you covered. This scent is very affordable if you know where to look, so lok for it!

I LOVE THIS! This was a blind buy for an absolute steal on Walmart.com (get it from Walmart as the specific retailer/seller) for a huge 3 oz bottle. Thank you to the folks on Fragrantica who reviewed this and said it is similar to Eau so Sexy. It really is! The apple is so juicy, and the Lanvin name feels more elegant than VS IMO. The bottle looks like a beautiful ball gown. The other notes are so subtle you can barely smell them (IMO), but the apple and red currant make my mouth water. 😍 This is something I would wear when I want to feel hyper feminine, fruity, and year-round delightful.

Versace Dylan purple without the staying power and price point. - Got a 3oz bottle for $25 on ebay, so I don’t mind over-spraying because the staying power sucks. Sweet & girly but in a mature way - it’s honestly delicious and feminine. If you are interested in Versace Dylan purple but cannot afford it or miss the original “love pink” by Victoria’s Secret - this is a pretty good dupe and alternative.

I really enjoy this one. This is the perfume that makes you feel happy and fresh. It also smell really nice and smell exactly like D&G peony, the purple one. The scent is subtle and friendly for surrounding people's noses. For me, the scent last all day but mostly as skin scent after 4 hour and it still smell like the opening scent (well, I live in a hot and humid country.

Very very faint scent of undetectable tender and light powdery something. I was kinda surprised..I could hardly feel it on my skin..right from the start it felt like its already finished! Wow..First time I get an experience like that with the perfume! I put "dislike" here, because I did not feel anything here. For the perfume its not good news.

Truly joyful apple bubblegum scent. Simple but lovely. Subtle so good for almost every kind of weather and occasion. The bottle is an absolute beauty. Update: it's very fruity and quite sweet, but it's not that kind of syrupy, heavy sweetness. It reminds me of summers of my childhood at my grandma's - lots of apples, lots of red currants.

This was my signature scent for 5 years and I really love it, but LONGEVITY is so poor: you can literally take a bath in this perfume and the scent will be gone in 20 minutes. This scent is good for all possible occasions, it's very light, feminine. youthful and juicy. To me it smells like Dolce Peony and VS Eau So Sexy.

This one has a fresh, soft and realistic opening with a splash of fruits followed by the flower enveloping which then dries down to musky, woody, and vanilla orchids. I would say this is a mouthwatering and addictive scent. Romantic! Feminine in all ways! I am blessed to have this one!

Cute scent! For me in the line with: Lancome "Miracle blossom", Nina "Nina Ricci", Adidas "Born for her". Sweet, caramelized apples.. but most of all it reminds DG "L'imperatrice" despite the pyramid is different those scents are so so close. LOVE.

This smells soooo good on me i love sniffing myself when i'm wearing this. Very refreshing and lively, best for going out on a sunny day. But i also like to put it on pjs as well, the smell is still there when i wake up.

Love at first sniff! It smells like a fig-less version of Byredo Pulp. Such an addictive, mouthwatering floral fruity. I had to have it despite its silly name (which might not sound so silly if you are very young).

The fragrance is very very fresh and refreshing. But not a very good performer when it comes to sillage and logetivity. Hardly lasts for a few minutes.

For me it’s smells like Burberry Her! The same sour fruits at the beginning!!! I love! I think Burberry her last more! Sorry my English is sucks kkk

I like the opening a lot, juicy apple. But the dry down is amazing! It's musky, warm, intoxicating, addictive and comforting! Highly recommend!

This is one scent that my partner always compliments on me. It smells lovely and lasts on my skin over 10h. Really my everyday scent.

I love itttt. Smells so intimate and close and cozy on the skin. Like the love of ur life in a very non-gender based way.

It's a great fresh flowery perfume, young and lovely. Too bad it has to be reapplied every hour or so.

The concept behind the creation was inspired by the multifaceted woman, the one who is brave, determined and has no strings attached: the modern princess. The ad campaign featured a working spy at night who becomes the sweet wearer of a beautiful red dress (which is the color of the product's packaging). Modern Princess gave life to a new feminine pillar for Lanvin and features Pink Lady apple and red currant notes at the top; Freesia and jasmine, in the heart; Woody accord, white musk and vanilla orchid (Vanilla Planifolia), in the base. But before commenting on the fragrance and my assessment, I need to disagree with the concept worked on. For me, the idea of freedom and attitude doesn't fit the woman who needs to disguise herself as sweet and fragile. Quite the contrary, it only reinforces the stereotype that women have struggled for years to get rid of. An empowered woman does not change to fit social standards; she has an attitude at any moment of her day. Another important point: search for information. Since this perfume was released, numerous reviews have spoken of the use of red apple. However, Modern Princess is built with Pink Lady apple, which belongs to an extremely strict selection of Cripps Pink apples. It has pink hues on a yellow base, is usually crispier and has a dense and firm flesh, with excellent flavor. The perfumer himself, during press conferences, said: "They are crunchier than red apples and their fruity and delicately sweet taste was captured by Firmenich's unique technology." On the skin, Modern Princess EDP gives a bath of juiciness and synesthesia, as the red color comes first to mind. The sweet acidity of the red currant (fruitier than black) matched the apple note perfectly. But the sensuality of the fragrance is in the heart, because a special jasmine extract called Jasmine Petal Firnat was used, which can get as close as possible to the natural scent of a jasmine flower still stuck in its stem. This brings a more carnal facet, creating contrast with the more innocent content of the beginning. To close, a silky hint of musk adds durability to the fragrance, which receives a vanilla-effect brush stroke. Until this point, Modern Princess satisfies those who like apple-scented perfumes. The problem, however, is the heavy - and unnecessary - softness that has turned an interesting fragrance into something boring, very discreet and without personality. But the lasting, although much criticized by several users, was not something that disappointed me. The bottle was created by Carré Basset and has the silhouette of a modern dress, belted with a chain, one of the symbols of the brand. It's perfect for today's Snow Whites.

At last, I’m ready to share my impressions of Modern Princess. I’d heard a lot about this perfume but kept postponing the purchase. I’ve had several unsuccessful experiences with Lanvin fragrances - something always felt off, more often disappointment than pleasure. But in the end I decided, “It’s time to get Modern Princess” (blind buy), and I ordered a 100 ml bottle. When the perfume arrived, I removed the cellophane, opened the box, and sprayed it. And... it was something vague, synthetic, quiet, and short-lived. I applied 15 sprays - and almost nothing. For the first two weeks, I used up half the bottle trying to understand the fragrance, but eventually set it aside. Half a year later, I decided to try it again. And yes - oxygen awakened Modern Princess. The fragrance finally became real, not just a light body mist. The synthetic edge disappeared, a delicious caramelized apple note emerged along with a certain freshness (but not aquatic). Longevity improved, and a slight trail appeared. I was happy. What I especially like is that it’s hard to overdo this perfume. You can douse yourself from head to toe and it won’t suffocate you even in +30 °C heat. At the same time, the scent is light, slightly tart, gourmand but not cloying, sometimes with gentle creamy nuances and freshness. For me, that’s a huge plus, because I own fragrances that can feel suffocating even with half a spray. Modern Princess is a playful, light, sweetish fragrance. I wish I’d had a perfume like this at my tender 16 (ah!). It lifts my mood, makes me feel more attractive and a bit younger. I was disappointed with the purchase at first, but now I’m glad I own it. If the bottle runs out (which is already close), I will definitely order another 100 ml. P.S. I bought another 100 ml. When the current bottle is finished, I want to move straight on to the next one - but it needs time to “rest.” I decided to test the already-rested bottle and the freshly opened one side by side. The fragrance from the new bottle smells like an “echo” of the opened one - about 10% out of 100% - quiet and indistinct, exactly as I described earlier in the review. I let a bit of air into the new bottle - now I’ll let it build strength.

I didn't expect to like this scent. It was practically pushed on me by the lady at the perfume counter, and I obliged her because she had been assisting me for the better part of the hour, opening half a dozen bottles for me to sample. She said this was a great, popular fragrance for "young people" like me. Being in my early thirties, I wanted to distance myself from anything "young" or "youthful". I wanted something clean, subtle, but not boring. I went home with this bottle and expected to be disappointed. This is now my everyday scent. An opening of apple so crisp and sweet it almost smells like strawberry. Don't worry though—it dries down within the hour to leave a blend of sweet, powdery floral, enhanced by a tantalizing vanilla note that refuses to go flat throughout the day. If you've ever been on the fence of vanilla scents because every vanilla scent you'd sampled smelled really flat, this might be the answer. The sillage is very good—the top notes disappear in a couple of hours, but the drydown lingers even on my clothes the next day. The scent is so vibrant that I keep choosing it over my tried-and-tested Happy Heart. I think the perfume is true to its name and evokes the image of a young woman who is headstrong and unapologetically feminine. Think Elayne Trakand in Wheel of Time, Eilonwy in Chronicles of Prydain, or Princess Nina of Wyndia in the Breath of Fire series. I like this change of pace (scent?) and will probably hold on to this one for a while.

I have a hard time wearing Modern Princess on its own. I love love love apple scents, but in wearables I've noticed that they tend to turn too sharp and synthetic over time. This fragrance is truly lovely: it's light, feminine, and fun. A nice pink scent that I would target to a younger audience (late teens to late 20s). It's not really something that's meant for those that want a more mature or dimensional frag. We start out with a sweet blast from the apples and currants. IMO the top notes linger for a really long time, and I think it's because of the synthetic note that I mentioned above. Normally, I love the combination of freesia and jasmine in fragrances, but I've never really smelled these on the drydown with this frag. It goes straight from fresh apple scent to a bright musk on me (which has always made me feel like it was lacking depth). Definitely a spring and summer daytime scent. I've tried this in cold weather and it simply doesn't work. You need the sun and ambient temperature to allow this fragrance to develop. Recently I've been experimenting with layering and have found success with pairing this with vanilla and/or lactonic fragrances. Lick Me by Michela Mezzetti pairs really well with the apple in MP. I feel like I'm wearing a scoop of ice cream on top of a fresh apple pie. The weight of the vanilla milky notes brings balance to the bright notes in Modern Princess without masking the scent.

This one is soooo nice. Tested this last week while browsing the duty free shelves. The opening combination of apple and red currant comes across as a very realistic, freshly picked strawberry with a little leaf attached. While it dries down the flowers become more present and the dry down is a little woody and musky with a hint of the mentioned strawberry. It's not overtly young, nor very sweet. A great scent for young princesses or anyone who loves a soft & fresh scent. Very refreshing to see something else on the market aside of the uber sweet patchouli bombs or so called niche perfumes (a label a lot of perfumes/houses start to claim).

A blind buy, but a winner. I never expected much from Lanvin to begin with but chose to blind buy this one because the notes were attractive to me, and boy was I glad I did. It's fruity and a little sweet. If you're a fan of Moschino Toy 2 or D&G l'Impératrice, I highly suggest you try this. The only drawback is that it has almost no sillage and longevity is really poor. Yves Rocher fragrances are (most of the time) cheaper and better-performing. Still, the scent itself is great. Nothing ground breaking, but simple and youthful on its own. People who love 'mature' scents might wish to avoid it, though.

I just purchased this fragrance while searching for something that had an apple shampoo vibe. This fragrance was mentioned numerous times and was compared to the discontinued See by Chloe. I am wearing this for the first time today. My first impressions of this is apple juice and freesia. It seems to sit very close to the skin and is light and airy. I will update with longevity soon. So far I really like it. ***Edit: Longevity is very short, maybe 3 hrs tops. Sillage is close to skin. Makes me a bit nauseous as well. Going be getting rid if this one unfortunately.

I get that comparison to DG Dolce peony, it has same vibe, same kind of freshness, but at the same time they're different. Modern Princess has more fruity vibe and in my opinion is more simple, Dolce peony is a bit more complex. Modern princess is very juicy red apple with a hint of flowers. It's fresh and sweet, great spring/summer scent, it's very youthful and joyful scent. It has good staying power, I smell it on my skin for few hour, but it's sillage is kinda weak, I have to reaply every few hours. But it' really affordable, so I don't mind.

Fresh, sweet, soft. The name is really appropriate, this fragrance is for a romantic and feminine girl. The dominant note on my skin is the juicy, appetizing apple, but i can also smell the vanilla orchid very well. This perfume is not really original, but it is well blended and has enough character to be someone‘s signature. I wouldn‘t buy it for me, but wouln‘t mind wearing it if i got it as a gift. I think it is a good choice for girly girls who don’t like overly sweet or overly fresh fragrances. 7/10

This one is fresh, sweet, soapy and young. It has small sharp side-effect, maybe because of red currant. Base is soft, powdery ang lightly woody. Remains me a little bit of Jeanne Arthes's Lover fragrance. Quite a light sillage, sadly fade away quickly and leaves on the skin only a hint of powdery and fruity smell. Safe choice for everyday use, doesn't irritate easily. Modern princess is quite nice, (even though nothing really special) but because of poor longevity, I can't recommend it.

I love the name of this perfume, so lovely :) The scent itself is also nice, and indeed very delicate, like a Princess. It has a prominent and realistic apple smell, that lasts for the entire duration. It’s paired with freesia and musk, and the trio gives us a nice, everyday feminine fragrance. Unfortunately, performance is poor, longevity is about 3 hours and sillage is minimal. Still, if you like fruity florals that are very subtle - Modern Princess might be a good choice for you :)

The scent is very fruity, lots of berries and red apples. It seems to have a good sillage and longevity, at least it fills my room. I know it's no modern classic, but I wouldn't be so critical about it, because the scent is good. Simple and a bit generic indeed, but not bad smelling or offensive. It could make a good everyday fragrance. A fresh and a bit tart. I haven't tried the classics from Lanvin, there's nowhere to try them, but this is what's modern right now and so it just is.

This is a good low key, everyday skin scent. Like you don’t wanna fuss so you give this a spritz on your wrists before running out to do errands or picking up the dog from the groomers. It’s not energizing like citrus but the juicy apple and tart berries in this perfume will instantly lift your mood. The dry down smells like a cozy musky strawberry marshmallow. This is for quiet afternoons, making pastel colored drinks, reading books and romanticizing your life.

This is one of my favorite apple smells on fragrances, a perfect Summer day scent. I also looove the bottle shape and design. I just think it's a little overpriced (at least in my country) for such a light fragrance. I get that every fragrance has its own purpose and thank God some are meant to be light scents. But I can get a bunch of other options, as good as this one, for much less. I will use my bottle, but probably won't repurchase.

Modern Princess is a tart, fruity perfume with some white musk in the base. This perfume stays tart and vibrant for hours in this 80F, low humidity weather. It took a few months on the shelf for this perfume to settle and come alive. Modern Princess is full of character and substance if worn in temperate, dry conditions. I enjoy this spunky little perfume. She is no shrinking violet.

Just ok. A little bit too generic and that says a lot from me, I don't like very complex over the top perfumes anyway, lol. This one is pleasant, feminine, maybe more girly than womanly, but too much like a good shampoo scent than an actual perfume scent to me. On the other hand you can't really go wrong with it, you can just probably find something just a bit better.

This is my daily scent. Light and feminine. Opening is sweet fruity. I love this crispy apple scent. Juicy,fresh,and cute. Many people may think this is suitable for only young women, but I don’t think so. Floral scent of Jasmine and freesia is elegant and musk scent has clean sexiness . I can find mature feminity in them.

This is lovely and girly, but you need to over spray this big time. It lasts about 15 mins on my skin which is such a pity! I only got a 30 ml thankfully. Looks like I will use it up within a week at this rate. Edit: I received a complement on this but could not smell it off myself. So maybe it's stronger than I thought!

Got this as a present from my husband with the matching lotion. The scent is very sweet and fruity. You can really smell the apple and currant opening, which I like a lot. It has a very girly, youthful vibe. The longetivity could be better, but for the price it is a steal! It last quite well with the lotion.

This is a funny perfume. For about 15 minutes, I could not smell it at all. Then I got this beautiful apple scent. It's more like apple cider, the real juice!! wow! It's very similar to See by Chloe, which I adore.

I love the apple-redcurrant combo, could be one of the best spring scents I own BUT longevity is nonexistant:(

The name of this fragrance should be "Playful princess" instead of "Modern" one cause there is no note remind me of modern. Opening is very loud with apple and red currant, like shouting at perfumer as "Look at me, im begining" ,so impressing, so energetic, so goooood But only after few mins, that loud smells are just disappeard and leave a soft smell of a bit musky - a bit red currant stay instead. Fruity sweet but so so soft. I do love the opening smell more than the smell that will stay. The longevity and sillage are so bad. I need to use it every 2 hrs and another people will notice it only when they hug you. This one is suitable for younger woman less than 30 yrs old. but at 30 now, I still use it because its top note really give the feeling of "Happy day, Happy me, Love myself" I use it even in my lazy boring weekend alone at home, smell it alone and feel happy alone all the time Yeah this also suitable for your "depress" day when you need something to cheer you up
