Wow, this is super unique and cool. To me it smells almost exactly like mezcal (minus the alcohol), or Lapsang souchong tea, because the smokiness has that very particular quality to it. It's definitely earthy and aromatic, but in the specific way that mezcal or añejo tequila is. I don't get tobacco from this at all, it's not that kind of smoke. I would say the smoky smell is closer to a campfire than a cathedral. I also don't get wet soil from this--it's more like wet leaves. It has a dirtiness/animalicness to it, but just the right amount, and it melts right into the skin. I think it would be really sexy on someone masculine. This is the first scent I've smelled in this "masculine sexy" category that doesn't have the "warm spicy" profile or that very woody profile. It leaves the same impression that a masculine oud fragrance leaves. It would be such a great stand-out date night fragrance on the right person. I think if I were a man, or even just older than I am, I would buy this, but it's already a statement fragrance, and on me, it's a bit too much of a statement. I'm still tempted though, as the scent is addictive. I don't think you could get away with this at the office, or in the summer, unless you applied very lightly.

A wonderful fragrance that captures the sere side of the natural world, the perfect accompaniment to the season of cold and damp here in England. I love it!

This is one of my absolute favourites. It's wonderfully smokey. Great to wear to the gym and perfect for a night out.

When first applied it smells like minty barbecue sauce. This dries off fairly quickly and it's a nice smoky scent past that so I'd say overall enjoyable but be warned.

I like the listed ingredients but not the sum in this case. I like tobacco, soil, oakmoss, vetiver, and spices. To me this doesn't work. It starts off with a BBQ smell with a hint of mustard. Later the oakmoss comes in and helps it a bit. Just doesn't get to anything I want to wear...maybe ever again. Glad I have a sample and not a full bottle. Yikes.

warm and damp, a bit like a bar in the winter. comforting, sweet, masculine. something almost like anise/caraway/camphor-ish? that hides in the background makes it interesting.
