Opus 3

Opus 3 is such a step outside my normal taste but it’s so incredibly beautiful and perfume realism at it’s finest. Recently I’ve been discovering scents outside my norm in hopes of discovering some new unexpected loves and I landed upon this hidden gem. It wears exactly as it is described by the brand: “Awake in the hush of a sleepless night, you find yourself before a locked garden gate. Curiosity pulls you over the iron bars, into a world where white tuberose and turkish rose glow against the dark. Their creamy, velvety softness wraps you, brushed with bright lemon, a curl of cinnamon heat, and smooth vanilla that feels like warm skin against cool air. As you wander deeper, time loosens its grip. You twirl among the flowers, feeling unafraid, quietly daring. When dawn blushes over the sky, you carry that secret night with you, ready for evenings when you want to feel tender and untouchable.” As spring is in full bloom where I’m at, the warmer weather really shows the true beauty of this fragrance. I get a lot of heady white florals and rose, a zest of lemon running throughout. Creamy ylang ylang. Subtle vanilla and benzion touches. A lot of tolu balsam which isn’t usually my thing but in here it works. This is a perfume that smells like you’re actually in a lush garden, again, perfume realism is alive and well here and I adore it. I encourage anyone who’s looking for something floral, creamy, lush and natural smelling to give it a try. There is also something about it that feels quite clean without reading soapy or aldehydic. There’s a beautiful fresh airiness about it and the quality of the materials used in making this is outstanding and the performance is great as well. On first spray on the test strip I thought it may be too much but after wearing on skin it meshed perfectly.
