Cédrat Céruse

When I first sprayed this, my heart stopped for a bit, I fell so completely and immediately in love. If a man wore this, I would swoon before him. Full disclosure....I adore lemon. Annick Goutal’s Hadrien is my first and greatest romance. Plus, there’s a woodiness, that humus element consistent in the Potager line, and the anise freshness of the fennel. Oh, it is heady and divine! It makes me think of a Cynar and tonic with lime on a summer evening. Or, some Xtabentun. Yes! Xtabentun, with the honey! Oooh, it’s sweet and mossy and sparkling and smoky, all at once! O.K., I’ve fallen hard.

This is an immediate love for me. I almost never jump in to make comments after just trying a sample on the first day. But this is unique, refreshing, delightful and I can't imagine changing my mind. I will say that I will probably keep refreshing it often because it's really the first hour that is magical. after that on me, it is not that noticeable or as special. But if these notes sound good to you, hurry to get a sample of this. It is very memorable.

Agree with skoopy skooperton. A kooky fragrance indeed. Truly photorealistic fennel all the way through. Crisp and crunchy with salted lemon, and so masterfully crafted. The dry-down unfolds as a soft, marginally milky, soapy fennel fade. It gives the impression of zero artificiality, just pure natural fennel oils. If you’re into salad making, market hopping, gardening, or just want to embody a fennel every so often, you might love Cedrat Ceruse.

Beautiful and unique scent. All of the above mentioned notes are present, however one note that my husband noticed in the opening is a slight hint of vanilla and I agree. The dry down is lovely and happy to have found a fresh lemony scent that does not smell like anything else! Fennel, so creative.

Fresh, clean, bright, anise. I get excellent sillage and all day longevity as it dries down to an enveloping, fresh laundry style white musk. It’s rare to find something that’s both highly unique and highly wearable, but this one checks both boxes.

This smells so expensive the opening reminds me of zatar wich is a meddle eastern food but the dry down such a great composition it is super neat clean a marvel of it is kind Note it doesn't smell like any other perfume out there have to try

I don't understand why people say this smells bad the dry down is gorgeous smells so expensive But the opening like some Mediterranean food called zatar must try first

i love this one so much because it smells like my grandparents kitchen did , i always put it on when i need an attitude adjustment. it’s green and lovely.

Exactly what I was seeking in a lemon-licorice scent. Fresh perfection.

my second favourite out of the 'veg'-line yet. This one is, to my own surprise, really pleasant. It starts with a more bergamot-like zesty lemon, which disappears quite quickly. Then, a blast of fresh fennel and anise, like you brew a cup of tea with the fresh plant and seeds. So there is the thing: you really have to like these two notes, if you dislike them, skip this scent. If you like them, like I do, I really enjoyed what comes next, which is a creamy, white musk note mixing with the fennel and anise. It sounds strange but is suprisingly harmonic and gets ever softer and more pleasant within the next 1-2 hours. Although it is musky-creamy in the background, it is also refreshing due to the strong planty notes. I didn't expect it but I really enjoyed this one having worn it two times already. It immediately reminded me of being at a Yoga retreat, or a mediation weekend maybe.

Cédrat Céruse is a sharp, invigorating green splash—lemon, yes, but not the sweet, sugary full amalfi. This is fresh, aquatic, zesty, a slice of salted lemon dropped into blue water poured straight from the sea, its sharpness tempered by the coolness of ozonic notes that unfurl to frame the arrival of fennel. And oh, is this fennel fennel-y. Green, herbal, almost anise-like, bold in its vegetal tang, cutting through the citrus like a knife through crisp stalk. So herbal, so potent, the green dominates the scene, photorealistic and evocative of the most abundant baskets of fresh harvest. A curious clash of diluted zest and distinct, unmistakable green—a juxtaposition of refined clarity and raw, green greenness. Mediterranean organic produce, in its full organic-ness.

It opens with a very strong lemon pledge smell which is absolutely boring. I thought it was it but fortunately lemon oil is very volatile, and that’s when the magic happens. Absolutely fennel prominent. I est a lot of raw fennel and it smells like that. Fresh, balsamic, almost anise-like / licorice. This is very interesting and different. Would i wear it? Not sure, i might try it a second time on my neck and clothes, but i assume this is artistic perfumery so it makes sense to create weird/different aromas. There are also notes of anise seeds and pink peppercorn as the sample cardboard says. I hope someone at frgrtc adds them to the page.

Okay, quick initial apprasial of these new L'artisans. I've worn on skin once but not properly, will come back and update but they're pretty straight forward, I doubt my thoughts will change a great deal. This one is lemon and fennel. haha. No I didn't just read the notes here, it opens with a squeeze of lemon, bright, lovely, then it settles into a anise tinged light, woody musk. Doesn't last for ages or anything and it never really inspired me or anything but it's my favourite of the new four I tried.

I love the fennel in this. Its such a great savory gourmand - the dry down gets a bit subtle for my liking but its an absolutely gorgeous fragrance

I'm going to preface this by stating my dislike of anisic notes like fennel so it was never going to be something I'd wear, but here it's combined with a shimmering citron note which makes it really refreshing. Citrus herbal fragrances have been around since the first perfume was created, so it's not easy to come up with something original, but this combination makes it stand out amongst its peers. It's like a cousin of lemon-basil scents like Citron Citron (Miller Harris), but with an almost crystalline freshness to it, as opposed to the nutty, warmer inflections of basil. If you want an unusual take on Eau de Cologne-style scents, check this one out.

Fennel, anise, lemon, uplifting. It is a freshie, cooling scent and the odd blue juice suits it well. I love anise pastries (I bake one at Christmas) and I love fennel salads so I knew I would enjoy those anise/fennel notes, but I also wondered how they would wear on skin and if I would ever reach for something like this. It wears light and close to the skin. Still puzzling over how I would wear this curiosity - maybe layered with something almond/vanilla to get closer to the anise almond pastry smell I love? Cons: a bit medicinal, camphorous, bug spray, toothpaste vibes - but only a tiny bit.

I was really excited to try this, I love fennel and anise/licorice type scents so based on reviews it sounded right up my alley! The opening was very green and crisp, spicy peppercorns & a lovely herbal fennel layer over a blast of citrus. For me though that only lasted about 10 minutes before it became a quite linear aquatic citrus aftershave type scent and stayed that way. 4 hours in I ended up scrubbing it off because it was giving me a massive headache despite only dabbing a small amount on my wrist. If I had gotten some of the vanilla musky notes that others mentioned to soften it I would definitely have liked it more. It was just way too strong and harsh for my taste.

The opening is overwhelmed by fennel, with a hint of pink pepper. I could just bought some fennel for a few bucks, then a milky note emerges, it gets slightly more interesting—worth a few more bucks. But by the dry-down, it reverts back to that same “I should’ve just bought some fennel” feeling.

I dig how kooky this scent is in that you’re very much getting fennel at first sniff. The lemon appears at the dry down. CC will likely *not* beckon people who enjoy fragrance simply “to smell good,” which is perfectly fine. I do think CC will intrigue people who want to re-experience things through scent. It’s hard to fault folks for not wanting to smell like fennel. This reads more like the seeds or “frawns” growing at the top of fennel stems rather than the bulb. CC is subtle and stays close to the skin. Like its beetroot brother, this fragrance will quickly vanish under 2 hours.
