L'Amant

Je m'imagine chez un antiquaire, le soir, un vieux livre ouvert entre les mains. La couverture est décorée d'une texture de velours. Ça sent l'encre, la papier, le vieux bois sec et poussiéreux mais aussi le piment. Vient alors s'ajouter à cette atmosphère un aspect piquant, chaud et très sensuel. J'aurai presque l'impression d'y trouver des facettes cuirées au cœur. En tout cas c'est tout ce que j'aime, un parfum atmosphériques et évocateur, à porter de nuit selon moi.

reminds me a bit of hot milk by hilde soliani, has that starchy caccio e peppe smell and i only mean this in the most elogious way. patchouli and spice are perfect notes to layer over this incredible subtle peppery base

Really interesting! On paper this is VERY sexy and sensual - very warm, patchouli, but a bit stand-offish from the ink. On skin, this is mainly inky woods, with a hint of patchouli. I don't get the pimento on my skin. Leans masculine to me. On a man, ultra-ultra-ultra masculine and sexy without being obnoxiously sharp or screechy (as so many of the modern perfumes do). Yummy. Try on skin though, this is NOT a safe blind buy. For me, nothing in this scent screams love or passion. It smells balsamic with carnations, pepper, a tad of birch tar, and a vague earthy smell, which I guess is patchouli. After one hours it smells leathery. At this stage, it reminded a bit of Beauté du Diable from LLI. This is N.O.T a Patch Ho kind of patchouli; far from it. Sample first!

Beautiful bottle and présentation, but what I have while testing it is mostly sandalwood with a hint of pepper. It's dry, and patchouli is detectable only as an earthy note. To be true, I'm quite disappointed. I would not recommend it without testing. In 6 hours it vanishes on skin, some earthy/ sandalwood aspect is still present on a blotter. And I can hardly call it a pleasant drydown.

OMG... if my lover (amant) would smell like this, i would definitely find an excuse to run away immediatly. Like... oh gosh, i left the oven on, i need to go, bye! Bhhhh, this smells like an old house full of dust, an absolute scrubber from my favorite brand.

If this is the smell of a lover, they're sat on a quite dusty floor, vinyl in hands - putting an intriguing new minimalist album onto the turntable. L'Amant isn't Miller Harris L'air de Rien, moody dusty, bookshop. However it isn't far off - it has that same dry abstracted intensity. There's a spikey sharp pungent note which vanishes almost instantly (presumably pimento) but undoubtedly caught your attention. Then it's a very dry vinyl, inky, pencil shavings scent. Relaxing after 30 mins with a touch of vetiver on my warm skin and a subtle lighthearted floral note. That said, L'Amant is mostly a serious, rather gentle scent suited to someone indifferent to gender and beyond weather seasons. It's rather cultural and has opinions! An indoors scent - well worth getting your nose on a 1.5ml sample available directly from L'artisan Perfumeur.

Super inteeeeeerestiiiiiing. Def not a blind buy, reacts very differently on different skin Ph. I find it super cool. I'm attracted like a moth to a flame. Birch tar & pepper. A nice journey , as perfume should evoke. Not for everyone ( thank god ! ) The right personality with this..can really pop.

Smoky ink with some spices . It smells like amouge interlude. I imagine a bad mucho biker wearing this perfume .

Smells like paper on my skin...like a used notebook binder with a little sweetness in the background

Milky, smoky, red peppery. Beautiful.
