Mémoire de Roses

This is a very western rose, so its smell is very fresh, airy, it’s not a heavy dense middle eastern rose. I thought it was going to be feminine but for me no. The citruses make it very sparkling and fresh. As everything from the house, smells very natural, refined and classy. Smells like you’ve atomized water on fresh garden roses. I’ve smelled a lot of rose perfumes and they share a lot of similarities, so this is nothing innovative or very different, but i would wear this rose instead of others, cause it smells natural, fresh, light and wearable for a man. Longevity is good but as usual i disagree with fragr. votes... it lasts the right amount of time, expecially if sprayed from the bottle and around the neck.

I love rose scents, so I have a bias for these types of fragrances. Let me say that this is the best rose fragrance I have smelled. I was introduced to L'Artisan by a Neiman Marcus sales associate, and I was floored at how much I love almost every scent in the collection. This rose is very present with a citrus note, which settles into a musky smoothness. My 20-year-old daughter has adopted it as her favorite fragrance of the moment as well. I recommend sampling it for yourself first. It would be a risky blind buy unless you already love rose scents.

I received a sample of this today and I love it more than I expected. At first the citrus lifts the rose so it blossoms with a sparkling trail, then I quickly got a hint of patchouli from somewhere that blended perfectly. On dry down it has just the right sweet fresh rose sweetness on the powdery musk. I usually wear spicy/woody fragrances so it's a revelation. I would wear this to bed for the delight of falling asleep amidst this beautiful scent, it's a tender hug in a bottle.

This fragrance is a salve for the senses. I think it can be unisex. I also think it can be worn year-round and for all occasions. It seems to be the perfect balance of everything: not too citrus, not too floral, not too sweet, not too musky. I feel soothed wearing this...like a windless, cloudless day. It is a tonic for the soul. And yet, it is deeply sensual. The mandarin, musk, and rose are so harmonious and truly divine.

This is a rose for people who don’t usually care for rose. Rose lovers will write it off as average and not worth the price tag; non‐rose people like me, who flee at the faintest whiff of “classical” or jammy, will find it's worth every penny. Fresh citrus keeps it bright, while a subtle spiced nuance makes it feel elevated, fresh, and modern. The dry down is a happy mix of clean white musk and spicy, pink rose petals.

It’s truly lovely, especially the delicate dry-down. I tested this side by side with Ella K’s Mémoire de Daisen In – one on each wrist – as I had the feeling they might be similar. At first, this one came across as stronger and a little more linear, while the Ella K leaned more towards a warm tangerine. But the dry-down – which with the Ella K stayed the same – here... oh, it’s just so beautiful!

This is very close to my all time favorite Elisabethan Rose from Penhaligon’s. Very light fresh take on rose - great for someone like me who doesn’t like heavy rose perfumes. I can get a bit of mandarin as well, overall very nice spring/summer perfume. Doesn’t last exceptionally long, but it’s worth exploring.

This smells beautiful on my lady. The dry down is such a soothing rose scent. A beautiful floral calmness as it dries. Def worth trying if you can get your hands on this

On first perception I instantly thought of delina/ delina exclusive Longevity not as good as those but I like this it is more citrusy fresh.

I wanted to like Memoire de Roses more, but I've come away with the conclusion that it's nice but underwhelming. Now, I like my perfumes to be overwhelming (hot take), especially rose perfumes, but this one doesn't even whelm IMO. The minutes after the first spray consist of a wonderful boozy, jammy rose. Just enough citrus to make it edible, and a drunken hit from the alcohol that morphs into a brandy-ish note that reminds me strongly of Folle de Joie. This all dries up quickly, and the rose note after that leans slightly dusty, but only if you're sniffing too hard. Mostly it's lightly musky and spicy, with a touch of leafy green. Rose is the main feature here, so it lives up to its name in that regard. It feels like the citrus notes and the musk just accentuate the facets of the rose note. The effect is reminiscent of burying your nose in an heirloom rose and inhaling that mysterious complexity. I should know, I did just that not long before I applied the last of my sample. All that being said, it's too light for my tastes -- maybe airy rose fragrances aren't for me. It doesn't feel committed enough to pull off the mystery of the rose vibe that I adore. Also, the performance takes it down -- it heads quickly towards an intimate sillage, though it does stay there for anywhere between 4 and 8 hours. It's such a pale performance that it's hard to tell where it ends, and sometimes it randomly kicks up when you least expect it, only to disappear again. The bottom line is, Pacifica's Persian Rose does it better. Making the rose a centerpiece accentuated by other notes -- but taking it in a more spicy, incense-y direction to be fair. Performing well, enveloping you in sensual enigma. And it's a lot cheaper sooooo... ̄_(ツ)_/ ̄ Do with that as you will.

It's ok, but it isn't memorable. Any number of other rose scents that have come out in the last 50 years are far better. In comparison, L'Artisan's Rose Privee is pretty much the gold standard of rose perfumes for me. This one seems to have been made because some exec decided what the brand needed was an average go-to rose scent that could be worn by any woman aged 6 to 95. And it can be. The perfect gift. Well, not for many of us. We'd be disappointed. But we'd wear it at least occasionally if someone gave it to us. We just wouldn't spend actual money on it.

It's a lovely scent, citrus rose, similar to Penhaligon's Luna - only Luna is slightly more citrus and Mémoire de Rose is more about an airy rose - very nice, just not extremely original. Which isn't necessarily a minus, original can easily become weird and unwearable, and that's definitely not the case here. This is a safe, pleasant, well made perfume with an average performance. I'd say it's suitable for spring or early autumn.

This is a rose for someone who is not overly fond of rose fragrances. Its quite fresh from the citrus but has a spicy facet that is not listed in the notes, moving it more to autumn winter direction. A modern classic. Not too dark and deep yet not too light. Works well on my skin chemistry, easy to be with and really quite delicious in a restrained way. There is almost a juiciness to it, like a hot juice.

開頭柑橘果香,玫瑰隨之跟上, 中段是融合的果香玫瑰, 整體變化不大, 最後則是除了果香玫瑰以外 又增添了微微麝香貼膚氣息, 整體給人一種年輕甜美少女感。 與Penhaligon's的Duchess Rose對比起來, 我不會說很相像, 尤其是一開出的時候, 兩者其實差異蠻大的, 大概要到中後調才會覺得比較相似。 一開始的Duchess Rose沒有果香感, 木質更明顯,整體比較沉穩而內斂, 中後段微微的果香出來時, 才會覺得與Mémoire de Roses有點異曲同工之妙, 但Mémoire de Roses還是顯得更年輕可愛些。 比較擴香及持香的話, Mémoire de Roses無疑大勝, 如果一定要二擇一, 我會選擇回購Mémoire de Roses

A delicate, creamy, soft rose. Has a bit of a “Nan’s garden” vibe. Can’t imagine this being anyone’s signature scent but it’s a nice and well executed rose fragrance. Perfect for a day when you want to feel delicate and feminine.

smells like rose water, orange spritz, and the word "pretty"! beautifully bright, cheerful, and light. garden breeze blows your hat off and your shampoo back 'atcha.

Well, I recommend checking out L'Artisan Parfumeur's website as you can get two samples for the cost of shipping, which is how I got this. It's a really pretty smell, and like other reviewers this smelled nearly exactly like Penhaligon's The Coveted Duchess Rose to me. In fact, it made me want to buy that fragrance. This one is pretty, like the Duchess, but is oh so fleeting. I could not shell out for something that is a skin scent in less than a half hour. I'd love to find something like this at this price point that lasts!

Not for me. Lacks originality and complexity, and is way overpriced on quality. Opens with sour bergamot, then dries down to white musk & rose that smells almost exactly like Montale Roses Musk. And while we’re on that subject, Montale Roses Musk and Al Rehab Musk Rose smell almost identical. So you could basically get Al Rehab Musk Rose and some bergamot essential oil and layer them to create Memoire de Roses for far less than $210. Hard pass.

Good rose scent with enough other notes to appeal to non-rose lovers. I think it's a bit redundant, but L'Artisan does make quality fragrances.

Approachable rose. Sweet, generic, citrussy

I hate how functional this is. It strips the rose of all its complexity and beauty and romance, and just squashes it in-between some bland citruses and the most abrasive musk available. I wear a rose-scented natural deodorant every day and the perfumery behind that thing is more nuanced and artistic than this. Mémoire de Roses? More like, remembering that it's Valentine's day while you’re driving home from the gym, getting a last-minute plastic-wrapped rose at the gas station, and then forgetting it inside your gym bag along with your dirty workout clothes. I always hesitate being mean in reviews, as I know (many) perfumers pour a lot of love and energy into their creations, and taste and skin chemistry is so different from person to person. However, perfume is such a visceral experience, it deserves a visceral response. That being said, someone below has compared it to Penhaligon's Luna and I would definitely agree. So if you like that one, Mémoire de Roses might be for you.

It gets very heavy by the day goes and leaves a headache... Nothing fresh about it to be honest. It is almost disturbing I would say. Very flat I do not get anything other than a very heady rose all along, apart from a very faint citrus at the beginning which just flies away in a second and you are left with this headache inducing smell.

Opens with a strong rose and citrus note - reminded me briefly of Rosine Un Zest de Rose, but Memoire is much harsher and very much in your face. I found it too much for me.

Citrus with rose, but make it worst of both worlds :(

So i blind bought this as a male in his late 20s living in Asia. After being exhausted from rose perfumes since its so overdone, its so nice to go back to the roots (pun intended!) of rose perfumes! This is a bubbly effervescent citrus rose scent, its direct, its straight forward, but still manages to be elevated and simple. The scent profile is nothing revolutionary, but its a breath of fresh air especially in summer. White musk is prevalent in the dry down and dances with the gentle pink rose petals. Very non gender specific and perfect for any occasions as long as its not in the evening. Puts a smile on everyone's face for sure. Lasted a full on workday! Youthful, sunny and flirty/cheeky. A colleague loved it so much they asked for the name of it and got themselves a same bottle the same day!

There seems to be 2 completely different versions of this. I have a sample, batch from 2022. It’s a unique sparkling mandarin rose, unlike any of the 50+ rose scents I’ve smelled and documented. The sweet mandarin was very prominent and persistent. The sample fits the description of Joyous Rose to a T. I also have a full bottle, batch from 2023. It smells nothing like the sample. It’s a nice musky rose, almost identical to Duchess Rose as others have said. It doesn’t have any of the sparkling sweet mandarin from the sample. Does anyone have any idea what’s going on?!

This reminds me of nothing so much as a slightly stale, rose scented pot pourri that’s been left in a bowl in the spare room and forgotten. It’s dry and dusty and the rose smells old and faded. If it’s a memory of a rose, it’s not the way I remember it. I’m trying a sample but I don’t think I will revisit this very often. It doesn’t project much but stays close. I imagine it leaves something of a trail. It lasts12 hours and then some. It does smell a little like Delina.

I think this is a nice, pleasant roses and musk scent. Some bergamot in the opening. Nice and wearable, but this not new...this is .. Oh so repetitive! I don't know why they thought that this formula will be successful for ever, maybe it will be? I am just tired of it, it reminds me of Montale Roses Musk, Rose Oud, Roses Elixir, Delina, etc etc etc Sample it first.

Mandarin & rose. I felt the mandarin was a little too sharp in here and didn't smell very realistic to me. I much prefer other perfumes that have a similar scent profile. Otherwise this is Inoffensive & easy to wear.

Classic usual rose scent . Smells abit like Delina .
