Soleil de Provence

This one shines!! It’s a creamy citrusy mimosa scent. It’s not too complex so I have not so many words to describe the scent alone. I do get the comparison with the TF Soleil Blanc. While I like that one also, it smells far more synthetic with the weird coconut base and doesn’t last nor projects. While Soleil de Provence SPARKLES, Soleil Blanc is only trying to shine through the dust. Not to forget to mention how much NATURAL Soleil de Provence smells, I’ve heard the brand only uses natural fragrance elements and one can definitely tell the difference and the quality it provides. Scent wise I would put Soleil Blanc in the same group with Mancera Holidays or Montale Intense Tiare, but Soleil de Provence has a completely different DNA with its sparkly juicy florals while still having that tanning oil resemblance. Longevity is great, around 12 hours. Silage is definitely moderate which makes it perfect for the summer.

Immediately bright and transportive - this will be wonderful to wear to the beach this summer. The florals are realistic and pillowy; sunny mimosa and soft creamy ylang-ylang bring to mind trips to Spain or California, strolling along the sand with friends. The ylang-ylang is lighter than the opulent city-dwelling expression of it in Bugey's other ylang-ylang forward creation for l'Artisan, Obscuratio. The most unexpectedly fun aspect of this, to me, is the almost photorealistic freshly-grated-zest approach to the lemon note, that feels like you're garnishing a dessert or enjoying sorbet on the street. It all comes together to feel like a sun-drenched vacation that isn't cloying or overly sweet. Definitely one to check out if you're a yellow-floral fan like me.

This is marvellous! Super bright and zesty, with yellow flowers blooming in the middle, heavy with powdery pollen and a soft sweetness. There's a hint of salt in this one, alongside the zest of a lemon, that reminds me a little of 'Lignum Vitae' by BeauFort. This would be an incredible summer perfume to wear with how it captures the carefree joy of being out on a bright and warm summers day. I've been wearing my sample in England, where it is still like winter, and it's been a much needed pick me up! I'm absolutely grabbing a full bottle of this one ASAP. I've loved this house for a long time and Daphné Bugey has crested something really special with this one. I love it!

I thought Sergé Lutens Fleurs de Citronnier was beautiful. It absolutely is. Unfortunately, I believe it is now discontinued. This is very nice, a bite of real natural lemon off the bat, then a creamy and floral. It's a bit of a heavy hitte. Especially initially. It's not overtly beastly. But it's a head turned. I prefer the Sergé Lutens is more realistic, not sugary. Very natural smelling lemon blossom. The flower is rich and the touch of music is perfect. It smells like walking through a fresh spring day in a lemon blossom orchard. Where the other is a strong sugary sweet lemon. Both are nice.

My mom has this and on her it smells exactly like TF Eau de Soleil Blanc, it's so sparkly and bright, the mimosa is really noticeable to me. It's sunscreen-y but not in a bad way, it's like an energizing bright sunscreen. Can't speak on the longevity as it's my mom's perfume but at least on her I can always tell when she's wearing it.

A beautiful wear from start to finish—creamy mimosa fading softly over a couple of hours. Nothing feels out of place, nothing smells synthetic or heavy handed. Would love to test this again from a spray and not a dauber.

The best mimosa perfume ever! Soft, creamy, bold mimosa! If you have ever smelled mimosa in your garden or during a nice walk you can't resist this perfume. A sunny nostalgic kiss.

best yellow floral i've tried. This is sunshine in a bottle.

Bought my bottle about three years ago in the dead of winter after L'Artisan released this and had discontinued Mimosa Por Moi, so I thought it would be a good time to revisit. This opens with a bit of sparkling and soapy citrus fizz – thanks to the lemon and bergamot – which quickly settles into the mimosa and ylang-ylang. As other reviewers have indicated, the ylang steers it ever so slightly in the direction of "sunscreen" but it never quite goes there and stays softly sweet with a touch of honeyed pollen. The drydown maintains its powdery yellow floral notes with hints of vanilla and resin (benzoin, specifically). I believe the effect gives what is intended - sun and yellow blooms atop a snowy mountain - a vacation in a bottle. I prefer this in winter and early spring. It's a bit much once the heat sets in. I'm not sure I'd lump it in with Tom Ford's "Soleil-themed" fragrances; and I would say this leans more toward Prada's Infusion d' Ylang than L'Artisan's Mimosa Por Moi (a more watery/dewy fresh mimosa). Overall, it's pleasant and nicely done.

I love this one! Definitely not a super floral yuk (lol reviewer @frankcrummit below). This is why I dont give a crap about fragrantica ratings anymore. I have seen some reviews that are just ridiculous, go look at the reviews for Amouge Guidance. They are saying the perfume smells like vagina. Are you kidding me??? Ok rant over. Anyway, I got a sample from my purchase of Bana Banana. This opens sweet and citrusy, and then quickly the mimosa comes in adding a little powderiness in the fragrance. Definitely super feminine (on the mature side but not super mature), and very french provencal. This is a daytime perfume suited for spring, maybe summer as well. Absolutely lovely! FB worthy for me! I wish I got this instead of Bana Banana.

Sharp citrus with yellow, powdery florals underneath. Lovelovelove this scent, it reminds me of going to my grandma’s house for tea in the summer and watching the sunlight come through the windows. Very bright and floral, with very prominent lemon and bergamot in the opening which blends splendidly with the floral aspect. Quickly becomes somewhat of a skin scent and dies out which is why I probably wouldn’t buy a full bottle of this, but the scent itself is incredible. In a way it almost reminds me of those fancy goat’s milk bars of soap that you only pull out when guests are over. Overall very clean floral which is perfect for sunny days and not-too-formal occasions.

I just received the sample and i’m testing it right now on my hand. This is really beautiful, very rounded and creamy, upon first spray it reminds me of Soleil Blanc by Tom Ford, with lemon and mimosa added. Seems like it has tuberose, but it might be the ylang ylang that gives that creamy summer vibe. The mimosa is starting to appear after some minutes and makes it more yellow. Very very good one, i feel like it leans a bit more feminine but nothing that i wouldn’t wear. It’s solar, bright, feel good vibe and very refined, makes me miss the sunny seasons. Will try more in the upcoming months.

I like it! Bergamot, milky. I don’t like mimosa but surprisingly, this one is pretty good.

Update: The more I wear Soleil de Provence the more I like it. I've had my sample for a couple of months now and it has likely settled a bit. The mimosa is shining through. It is not as sweet as some mimosa perfumes and I like that. It smells like walking through Jardins des Plantes in the springtime. I will most likely buy a full bottle. Based on a 2ml sample: I applied five sprays first thing this morning. When I smell Soliel de Provence directly on my skin I get a dusty pollen sort of a fragrance. This one takes a little breathing room before it starts to come alive. It opens with an oily lemon and bergamot top note which I quite like. It is not oily on the skin but it smells of citrus oil. As that starts to evaporate the mimosa and ylang ylang start to develop. To me, this is not a sweet perfume given the addition of the citruses. It could easily be worn on hot summer days. The benzoin plays upon the peppery note that bergamot can sometimes yield. It is not overly vanillic. For comparison, it is not as mimosa forward or as sweet as Mimosa Pour Moi. I prefer Mimosa Pour Moi. Nor is it as mimosa forward as Infusion de Mimosa. I prefer Infusion De Mimosa but I don’t like the sharp Prada soapy base that underpins the Infusions. Soliel de Provence is a pretty fragrance but probably not what I'm looking for to replace Mimosa Pour Moi.

Sweetie powdery flowers: lots of honey-like mimosa and somewhat green and soapy notes of bergamot and ylang. It’s not bad, but smells like a perfumed shampoo or shower gel. Follow me on IG: scent.guide

Relentless ylang ylang assault. The very first spray made me feel like I'd walked into a greenhouse packed with ylang blossoms—thick, heady, and suffocating. There’s no reprieve from the intensity; it just keeps blooming and blooming and booming deafeningly until it overwhelms everything else. Citrus fruits? Can't find them. Mimosa? Not a bundle in sight. If you adore this heady tropical floral, this is your dream come true. But it's a hard no for me.

Super-floral yuk! The most unpleasant, persistent scent I have ever experienced, requiring instant scrubbing and treatment with baking powder, to disperse. Be warned - we're not just talking longevity here: this baby is heading for eternity! I can't imagine anyone wanting to wear this. (Unless they liked it of course!)

My second full bottle from L'Artisan Parfumeur. The first one was Iris de Gris which was too masculine so I gave it to my husband. I had a 10 ml of this last summer and loved the photorealistic mimosa flowers. There is something about mimosa that smells a bit vintage and like laundry detergent at the same time. Was holding off on getting a full bottle but saw that the 10 mls are currently out of stock on the LAP website. I scored a discount on an fb on Ebay and it has been added to my collection just in time for spring. Can I mention how upbeat and joyful this perfume is, and how pretty the LAP hexagonal bottles are? My favourite bottles aside from Diptyque’s. Edit: I realise this smells 95% identical to Tom Ford Soleil Blanc, except this has mimosa flowers so I like this much better.

I actually never understood what people meant when people describe certain scents as "Solar" but now i do. This is a refined smell of a L'Occitane shop (not a bad thing). The mimosa is light airy and dry and my immediate thought upon spraying it on skin is like being injected with a strong ray of sunshine, its such a mood booster. Its a scent that motivates you and keeps you running in the sweltering summer heat! The scent doesn't really transform and it performs in heat (I was hesitant initially cuz sometimes summer scents don't take into account humidity, but this one performs well and it projects so id say a little goes a long way). Test on skin, not blind buy safe imo even though the scent is rather safe. Its a mimosa bomb and dont overspray.

I tried this at Charles-de-Gaulle airport yesterday. L'Artisan Parfumeur mentions Citron, Mimosa, and Benjoin as key notes. My first impression when I tried it was something of a citrus floral scent. It is mellow, well made, and smells very good. To my nose it is unisex and I can wear it comfortably. I see the ad mentions 'Sunshine is at the heart of Soleil de Provence' but to me this is more like a delightful afternoon, very pleasant, nice, and perhaps somewhat relaxing. Gets a solid 7 out of 10 from me.

Mimosa is a note that I absolutely adore, when mixed to perfection with others. Too much of it makes any scent too powdery and old fashion. I love every note here, so onto test because the balance of them is what makes the difference. I have to say though that this House perfumes on me have zero sillage and projection. I'm hoping things changed since the last decades. Love this concept overall, so I have high hopes.

The opening of this is a fabulous feast of yellow floral bliss. In the dry down the zesty top notes leave and it gets a little saccharine on my skin. Runs a little too sweet for my taste, but would buy a travel spray if they had them.

Love mimosa. Love citrus. Love yellow florals. Don't love this. It has a sharpness and soapiness I can't get past. Stings my nose and makes me sneeze-y. Unfortunate because it seems like it has all the right notes!

Smells very similar to Solaris by Penhaligon’s. I need to just use up my bottle of the latter and stop buying more ylang-ylang and lemon accord samples! Love the photorealistic mimosa though.

Citrus and a lot of yellow flowers. Nostaliga is there .. took me back to old floral perfumes like Anais . There something similar to TF soli blanc .

One of the best fresh, fruity, citrues I've tried. Soft, creamy, nostalgic. Clinique Happy wishes it was this.

This is Batucada with added creamy solar notes. Love the zesty freshness of Batucada and love this one too!
